  • Using v-table thunks to chain procedure calls

    I was reading some articles on net regarding Vtable thunks and I read somewhere that thunks can be used to hook /chain procedures calls. Is it achievable? Does anyone know how that works , also I am not able to find good resource explaining thunks. Any suggestions for that?

  • Ho to add dynamic table list to a Fullcalendar page

    I have implemented a Fullcalendar on a RoR page. I would like to add a list (index) below the calendar showing events for the day the user selects. Click on a day and that days events list below the calendar. I'd like it to be dynamic (don't reload the whole page). Please point me in the right direction to learn how to do this. I have a subscription to Railscast. But, I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks

  • MySQL efficiency as it relates to the database/table size

    I'm building a system using django, Sphinx and MySQL that's very quickly becoming quite large. The database currently has about 2000 rows, and I've written a program that's going to populate it with another 40,000 rows in a couple days. Since the database is live right now, and since I've never had a database with this much information in it, I'm worried about some things: Is adding all these rows going to seriously degrade the efficiency of my django app? Will I need to go back through it and optimize all my database calls so they're doing things more cleverly? Or will this make the database slow all around to the extent that I can't do anything about it at all? If you scoff at my 40k rows, then, my next question is, at what point SHOULD I be concerned? I will likely be adding another couple hundred thousand soon, so I worry, and I fret. How is sphinx going to feel about all this? Is it going to freak out when it realizes it has to index all this data? Or will it be fine? Is this normal for it? If it is, at what point should I be concerned that it's too much data for Sphinx? Thanks for any thoughts.

    Say I have three properly normalised tables. One of people, one of qualifications and one mapping people to qualifications: People: id | Name ---------- 1 | Alice 2 | Bob Degrees: id | Name --------- 1 | PhD 2 | MA People-to-degrees: person_id | degree_id --------------------- 1 | 2 # Alice has an MA 2 | 1 # Bob has a PhD So then I have to update this mapping via my web interface. (I made a mistake. Bob has a BA, not a PhD, and Alice just got her B Eng.) There are four possible states of these one-to-many relationship mappings: was true before, should now be false was false before, should now be true was true before, should remain true was false before, should remain false what I don't want to do is read the values from four checkboxes, then hit the database four times to say "Did Bob have a BA before? Well he does now." "Did Bob have PhD before? Because he doesn't any more" and so on. How do other people address this issue? I'm curious to see if someone else arrives at the same solution I did.

    I have a case where I need to update a jqgrid based on some search criteria which the user selects. I can get the data to update , but I would want the loading message to show while the new data is being fetched. Can someone please let me know how to get that working ? I'm trying to configure a ListView so i've written: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsDatiUtente" runat="server" ConnectionString="Server=12.28.136.29;Database=mydb;Uid=m111d1;Pwd=fake;Pooling=false;" ProviderName="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM user WHERE idUser=@IdUser" / At the beginning of my aspx page i've added <%@ Import Namespace="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" %> But if i click to the sqldatasource and click "Refresh Schema" i got this error: "Unable to retrive schema.... Unable to find the requested .Net Framework data provider" For instance, i've installed it , but i've also uninstalled old version, then installed new versions. In my project i simple copy Mysql dll into "bin" folder, then add a reference to that dll. I'm not sure is the corrected way... I need to have the "refreshed schema" to permit vs.net to build automatically my listview ... if i can't to "auto build" listview, i have to write all code by hand, and it is a too expensive work me :( What i'm wrong ?   • iPhone Core Data does not refresh table

    Hi all, I'm trying to write an application with Core Data, and I have been able to successfully read and write to the core data database. However, if I write to the database in one view controller, my other view controllers will not see the change until the app is closed then reopened again. This is really frustrating. I'm not entirely sure how to get the refresh - (void)refreshObject:(NSManagedObject *)object mergeChanges:(BOOL)flag method to work. How do I get a reference to my managed object? Anyways, here's the code I'm using to read the data back. This is in the viewDidLoad method.     Hi, I have an NSArray which contains information from an RSS feed on dogs, such as [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. At the moment my UITableView simply displays each cell on each dog and within the cell lists [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. I want to be able to allow users of my app to "sort" this data based on the dog name, dog size or dog age when they press a UIButton in the top nav-bar. I'm struggling to work out how to filter the UITableView based on these factors, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.
