• Traversing Scheme function as a list

  Isn't it possible to treat functions in Scheme as any other list? Basically, what I want do to is something like this: (define (foo) "hello") (cdr foo) ; or similar, should return the list ((foo) "hello") I've found a similar discussion about this, and I feel a bit disappointed if this is not possible with Scheme. If so, why is this impossible? Is it possible in other lisps? EDIT: Changed (cdr 'foo) to (cdr foo) -- it was misleading. I'm asking, why can't I access a function as a list?

ClassA { ... @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "a_id") private long id; ... @OneToMany(cascade={CascadeType.ALL}) @JoinColumn(name="a_id") private List<ClassB> bbb; ... } ClassB { ... @ManyToOne private ClassC ccc; ... } ClassC { ... private String name; ... } I want to filter by hibernate criteria ClassA by 'name' member of ClassC. So I want to obtain by hibernate criteria list of ClassA objects which have inside ClassC objects with specified name. Problem is that access to ClassC objects is through ClassB list. I tried something like this but it does not work: crit.createCriteria("bbb").createCriteria("ccc").add(Restrictions.ilike("name", name, MatchMode.ANYWHERE)); I will be grateful for help.

  see also Is “Code Access Security” of any real world use? I want to get some other opinions on this... I like the idea of Code Access Security for desktop applications. But in the lifetime of .NET I have to admit I've never actually had a situation where CAS has actually blocked something to my benefit. I have, however, had many times where something as simple as sharing a quick .NET application across a mapped drive becomes an enterprise code access nightmare. Having to break out caspol.exe to create trusted path rules and having no clear way of knowing why something failed makes it seem like CAS adds way more frustration to the development and deployment process than it offers in security. I'd like to hear either some situations where CAS has actually helped more than hurt, or if there are other people out there frustrated with its current implementation and defaults.

• How to CompareTo two Object without known about their real type

  I have to implement a one linked list but it should put object in appropriate position. Everything was OK when I use it in conjunction with specific class, but when I tried make it universal and argument of method insert was Object some problem appeared. When I want to input Object in right position I should use CompareTo method, but there isn't method in Object class! The problem is how to compare two object elements without known about their real types. Maybe I should use generic class type? But what about CompareTo? Or maybe combine with Element class and place CompareTo there?   Hi all, I'm having trouble coming up with a solution for the following problem and i was wondering if someone here would help me out. I need to pull a list of supplies from a db table and list them along with two textboxes (one for quantity, and another for manufacturer) so the list would look something like this. checkbox for supply 1 | Quantity | Manufacturer checkbox for supply 2 | Quantity | Manufacturer .. I also need to store all of the checked items in a db table. I'm not sure how i should go about doing this. I've heard some talk about a repeater control being useful but i've not come across any examples that do this type of thing. Thanks in advance

• Why are access modifiers on web service proxy methods important

  I'm creating interface to an external web service with C# client generated from WSDL. And in this client class I have methods with signature like: public ResponseType InvokeMethod(RequestType request). I want to change its access modifier to protected, but then web service responds with "web service method name is not valid" exception. Do You know why is that so? I understand that maintaining method name can be important for some reasons, but why can't I change this access modifier? Shouldn't it be a matter of my code what access I want to give to this method? Thanks for all the answers in advance.

• Cannot Access Rails Server From Outside LAN

  Hello All This is my first post here. I have a rails server I'm running on a dedicated server that I have jail shell access to. I can start up a rails server and access it just fine using the text-based browser elinks running in that jail shell using both internal and public IP's. However, I cannot access the rails server from outside that chrooted environment. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

• AD-Integrated DNS failure: "Access was Denied"

  I have a single Windows 2008 R2 server configured as a domain controller with Active Directory Domain Services and DNS Server. The DNS Server was recently uninstalled and reinstalled in an attempt to fix a (possibly unrelated) problem; the event log was previously flooded with errors (#4000, "The DNS Server was unable to open Active Directory...") which reinstalling did not fix. However, while before it was at least showing and resolving names from the local network (slowly), now it's showing nothing at all. (The original error started with a #4015 error "The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory," followed by a long string of #4000 and a few #4004. This may have been caused when a new DNS name was recently added, but I can't be sure of the timing.) Attempting to manage the DNS through Administrative Tools > DNS brings up an error: The server SERVERNAME could not be contacted. The error was: Access was denied. Would you like to add it anyway? Selecting yes just puts a SERVERNAME item on the list, but with all the configuration options grayed out. I attempted editing my hosts file as per this post but to no avail. Running dcdiag, it does identify the home server properly, but fails right away testing connectivity with: Starting test: Connectivity The host blahblahblahyaddayaddayadda could not be resolved to an IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc. Got error while checking LDAP and RPC connectivity. Please check your firewall settings. ......................... SERVERNAME failed test Connectivity Adding the blahblahblahyaddayaddayadda address to hosts (pointing at 127.0.0.1), the connectivity test succeeded but it didn't seem to solve the fundamental problem (Access was denied) so I hashed it out again. Primary DNS server is properly pointing at 127.0.0.1 according to ipconfig /all. And the DNS server is forwarding requests to external addresses properly (if slowly), but the resolving of local network names is borked. The DNS database itself is small enough that I am (grudgingly) able to rebuild it if need be, but the DNS Server doesn't seem willing to let me work with (or around) it at all. (and yes before you ask there are no system backups available) Where do I go from here?   Is it possible to have support for enabling DataModelSelection on a list page paginated via EntityQuery? (All the examples load the list by performing a query on the @Factory method). But, I would like to re-use the existing pagination mechanism and just enable the ability to support DataModelSelection on it. I am also assuming that DataModelSelection is capable of tracking a single row in a List, how do we extend this to support a certain action (say deletion, activation ...) of multiple rows. I am a newbie and would appreciate any help on this topic. I have already gone through the samples shipped as part of Seam (booking, message). I have already posted this in seam users forum, but I am yet to get a response

• Issue converting Sitecore Item[] using ToList<T>

  Working with Sitecore and Linq extensions. I am trying to convert to from an item array to the list using the following piece of code: Item variationsFolder = masterDB.SelectSingleItem(VariationsFolderID.ToString()); List<Item> variationList = variationsFolder.GetChildren().ToList<Item>(); However I keep getting this error whenever I try to build: 'Sitecore.Collections.ChildList' does not contain a definition for 'ToList' and the best extension method overload 'System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>)' has some invalid arguments I have the following usings: using System.Linq; using System.Xml.Linq; Am referencing: System.Core I've just copied this code from another location, so it should work fine, can only think that there is something simple (like a reference or something that I am missing).

  Hi all, I have have several ULs vertically down a page. They are setup using jQueryUI's sortable(). My live example is: http://jsfiddle.net/pborreli/pJgyu/ I can drag from answers to make it the final element in questions. But when I drag from questions to answers the placeholder jumps to the second item in the questions list. At that point I can then drag it to the top. Any ideas why I am having this issue dragging from a list above to the first element of a list below? I've tried editing the padding and margin on both the lists and the sortable items.   My models: class Order(models.Model): ordered_by = models.ForeignKey(User) reasons = models.ManyToManyField(Reason) class Reason(models.Model): description = models.CharField() Basically a user creates an order and gives reasons for that order. ie, john has two orders (one for pencils because he is out AND because he doesn't like his current stock. a second order for pens because he is out). I want to print a list out of all reasons a user has placed his orders. So under john, it should print "he is out", "he doesn't like his current stock"; those two lines only. If I simply select all of john's orders, iterate through them and print out their "reasons" it'll print "he is out", "he doesn't like his current stock" and then "he is out" again. I don't want these duplicate values. How do I select a list of his reasons for ALL his orders so that the list has all unique rows?

  Basically, I want to translate the following into Seaside Smalltalk: $(".myDiv").bind('click', function(e) { console.log(e); }); Besides that I don't want to console.log the event, but access it in my ajax callback. The most promising approach seemed to be something like html div onClick: (html jQuery ajax callback: [:v | self halt] value: (???); with: 'Foo'. But I couldn't find any way to access the event that caused the callback. Intuitively, I would try html jQuery this event for the ??? part, but the Seaside jQuery wrapper doesn't know any message that comes close to event. Any help is appreciated. There has to be away to access the event data...

I prefer the List(t) to IEnumerable(t) which is why I chose the Dictionary of Lists over Ilookup or IGrouping. What I need is to have in my model something like: public class Request{ private List<String> fieldOne; public List<String> getFieldOne(){....} public void setFieldOne(){....} } even if in my table the field is a simple string.
