  • bracket style border around elements

    I'm looking for a way to implement a bracket style border around my <h2> headings; I've attached an image showing exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. The only way I can think of to achieve this effect is by using images, but I'm unsure of exactly how to do so(all of my <h2>s are of varying length/height, or if maybe there is a better way. Any tips & insight are greatly appreciated.

    Is there any way to make only a non-transparent portion of an image to trigger mouse-over event? If the mouse travels to the transparent area, the mouse-out should be triggered and the script should listen for any mouse-over event on a layer underneath the image. Is it possible?   • Format table header

    I have a table with slanted text in the header row, the only problem is that the text still makes the width of the columns way to large. Is there any way to squish together the table columns so that they are about the width of the select boxes? Or is there a way to place the text there without it in the header and maybe just use a <div> or <p>? I don't want to use any JavaScript. how can I achieve the same result in FireFox?

When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close.   • How to float span properly

    I am developing this site http://indigonightlife.com/ The second section down is This Weeks Events. To the right of that heading is an image of the 5 little blue lines. The problem Im having is I cant get it to float to the right side of the container. As it is now, its in the middle of the container. Ive tried all kinds of combos of floats, clearfixes, and such but I cant get it to stay to the right. The section below titled Resident and Guest DJs has the same image but its floated fine. Not sure what the difference is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there, I'm creating a set of input fields and using javascript's .style.backgroundColor = "red" to change the colour of any invalid fields. In Chrome, there is no problem. However, in Firefox, as soon as I touch the backgroundColor (even if I set it to white) then I get these strange shadow effects.     I have some th elements with text in them that should be centered and they also contain images: The up/down arrow graphic is a separate image. My question is, what is the simplest reliable way to position that image over to the right side of the th element while keeping the text centered? I'm open to using jQuery/JavaScript if there's a reasonably simple way to do it.     I have a piece of code shown below: $(".tagArea li").mouseover(function(){ $(this).animate({ borderWidth: "2px" }, 1000 ); }); $(".tagArea li").mouseout(function () { $(this).animate({ borderWidth: "1px" }, 1000 ); }); When I try to hover it on a particular list item, it properly animates but doesn't stop doing just once. It keeps doing 2 or 3 times. How to avoid this, I 've tried many a times but no positive result occurs to me. Kindly help.

But when I populate the page with content, say datagrid, the div is overlaps data in datagrid. What changes should I make to the style to let the div be at the bottom always. I am using IE* to view the pages.
