Overall there are near 2000 records and 6 columns(im not posting the code i used during grid's initialization, because i dont think it can be the reason) and the grid hangs for almost 10 secs!

  I just started learning c++ (coming from java) and am having some serious problems with doing anything :P Currently, i am attempting to make a linked list, but must be doing something stupid cause i keep getting "void value not ignored as it ought to be" compile errors (i have it marked where it is throwing it bellow). If anyone could help me with what im doing wrong, i would be very grateful :) Also, I am not used to having the choice of passing by reference, address, or value, and memory management in general (currently i have all my nodes and the data declared on the heap).   We are trying to get an F5 BIG-IP LTM iRule working properly with SharePoint 2007 in an SSL termination role. This architecture offloads all of the SSL processing to the F5 and the F5 forwards interactive requests/responses to the SharePoint front end servers via HTTP only (over a secure network). For the purposes of this discussion, iRules are parsed by a Tcl interpretation engine on the F5 Networks BIG-IP device. As such, the F5 does two things to traffic passing through it: Redirects any request to port 80 (HTTP) to port 443 (HTTPS) through HTTP 302 redirects and URL rewriting. Rewrites any response to the browser to selectively rewrite URLs embedded within the HTML so that they go to port 443 (HTTPS). This prevents the 302 redirects from breaking DHTML generated by SharePoint. We've got part 1 working fine. The main problem with part 2 is that in the response rewrite because of XML namespaces and other similar issues, not ALL matches for "http:" can be changed to "https:". Some have to remain "http:". Additionally, some of the "http:" URLs are difficult in that they live in SharePoint-generated JavaScript and their slashes (i.e. "/") are actually represented in the HTML by the UNICODE 6-character string, "\u002f". For example, in the case of these tricky ones, the literal string in the outgoing HTML is: http:\u002f\u002fservername.company.com\u002f And should be changed to: https:\u002f\u002fservername.company.com\u002f Currently we can't even figure out how to get a match in a search/replace expression on these UNICODE sequence string literals. It seems that no matter how we slice it, the Tcl interpreter is interpreting the "\u002f" string into the "/" translation before it does anything else. We've tried various combinations of Tcl escaping methods we know about (mainly double-quotes and using an extra "\" to escape the "\" in the UNICODE string) but are looking for more methods, preferably ones that work. Does anyone have any ideas or any pointers to where we can effectively self-educate about this? Thanks very much in advance.

• Redundant Microsoft server solution for small company

  I'm planning to change one server Microsoft SBS 2003 with SharePoint, Exchange and SQL database into something that will provide me with some redundancy and won't be single point of failure. I was thinking to buy 2x exactly the same physical servers and put 2 virtualized servers on HyperV or VMWare on each. Then i would put SharePoint, Exchange and SQL on that 1 physical server (shared onto 2x VM's). I would like 2nd physical server to be exact duplicate of the first one so that when 1st server goes down (for reboot or hw failure), 2nd takes care of everything so that users don't even see anything changed (in terms all their emails, sharepoint stuff is available). My questions are: Will I have to pay for licenses for both servers even thou only one instance of SharePoint, Exchange, SQL will be used at same time? What are proposed solutions to do that? Any additional hardware I would need, any complicated software configuration to be expected to configure such redundancy so that when one physical server goes down 2nd one is taking care of rest? What problems should I expect? This solution is for 60 people. Later on it may or may expand.

  I'm using a script to keep a mapped networkconnection alive, but ofcourse the mapped connection is gone when I logout. The point is now, that I'm running this on Windows Server 2008 R2, where I use remote desktop to login on the administrator account. However, it should remain logged in and not remove the mapped connection as this script takes care of not logging out on MS office 365 sharepoint. Is there a way to keep the mapped networklocation (L:) available after logout?   Hello all. I want to extract "special" data from an Excel 2002 (client requirement, cannot change) workbook and worksheets contained therein. I have classified ranges in this "special" data category. I would like to acquire a list of all ranges in, ideally, all worksheets in a workbook. The attributes I'm interested in are the range name, and the range address. I have been googling for a while now, and have not found anything relevant. I was assuming the Excel 2002 API would expose something like this: ApplicationClass app = new ApplicationClass(); Workbook workbook = app.Workbooks.Open(@"c:\file.xls", ...); Worksheet worksheet = workbook.Worksheets["sheet1"] as Worksheet; Range[] ranges = worksheet.GetAllRanges(); or something similar. • Can I make my drives visible and change their partition type without losing my data?

  I have made a lot of mistakes and now I cannot see my hard disk nor I can start my operating system on my laptop. All my passwords and important files on my hdd without any backup. I followed this course of action Changed my hard disk partitions to dynamic just for getting 5th partition. (1st mistake) Decreased partitions to 4 again. Backed up operating system from 4th to 3rd partition with Norton Ghost. Booted from a live CD for Windows XP. Formatted 4th partition and moved my all important data from 1st and 2nd partitions to the 4th partition. Deleted 1st and 2nd partitions and got 1 partition from half of empty space. So I have just 3 partitions and empty space between 1st and 2nd partitions. Tried to install Windows 8 to the first partition but it did not allow because it is dynamic. Also it did not allow to install to other partitions. Tried to install Windows XP to the 1st partition but it said if I continue I cannot use other drivers. Therefore I escaped from installing it. Booted from the Windows XP live CD then increased 1st partiton to less than 400mb of empty space. Therefore I thought it will be adjacent but it was shown as 2 partitions. In my computer I see just 3 drivers. Using Norton Ghost I recovered my OS to the 1st partition. (2nd mistake it was on 4th partition originally) Booted from a Windows XP live CD I tried to install bcdedit to the Windows XP live CD but it did not work. Then I tried to install EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition. It was installed with errors then I start it and it showed me an error like there is no hard disk. I looked to my PC and my drivers were not there. Booted from the Norton Ghost CD and it did not show me my drivers either, but before I was able to see them. I checked numbers of partition shown by the Norton Ghost utility and they are still have same numbers so I have to see my drivers but I cannot see them now. My hard disk is shown as extarnal dynamic now so I cannot see any drive in my PC in the live Windows XP. There are two options; first one is import extarnal disk and second one is convert disk to basic. Will they delete my data? I fear booting from CDs like Windows XP live CD, Norton Ghost CD, and the operating system CD/DVD, because they may overwrite a few MB their data to my data. These recover tools are already exist in Windows XP live CD by The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Can any of them help me? (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) I tried a variety of steps to resolve this issue: Recycling the application pool Restarting IIS Closing Visual Studio Not detaching from the debugger until a request was fully completed Logging off and logging back into Windows etc. Nothing actually worked.  Some of these resolution attempts seemed to help keep the problem from happening quite as frequently, but I still have no idea what EXACTLY causes the problem and it would rear its ugly head from time to time.  Unfortunately, the only resolution I found that seemed to work was to reboot the machine . which is a crappy resolution. Finally sick enough of the problem to spend some time on it, I went on a search and tried to figure out if anyone else was having this issue.  People seem to suggest that turning off the Indexing Service on your machine helps resolve this problem.  I tried turning it off but I kept having issues.  Which was depressing.  Fortunately, I stumbled upon the resolution when I was looking through the services list.  If you encounter the issue, all you have to do is reset the World Wide Web Publishing Service.  I've had a 100% success rate so far with this approach.  I'm not sure if having the Indexing Service is part of the solution, but I've kept it disabled for the time being because I'm really sick of having to reboot my machine to deal with that error message.   Creating Site definition in Visual Studio2010 is very easy; it has a built-in Site Definition Project template. Today I will show you how to create Site Definition using Visual Studio 2010.You can download the complete source code here. Create Site Definition Project Choose the Site URL and note that you can only choose Farm Solution the sandboxed solution is greyed out. After the Visual Studio did his magic, you can see the Project structure as follows, it contains default.aspx which is the default page for that site definition, onet.xml contains the actions for creating site using this site template(This is like the elements.xml in the feature) and webtemp_Ybbest.CustomSiteDef.xml register this Site definition in the SharePoint(This is similar to the Feature.xml in feature) Open webtemp_Ybbest.CustomSiteDef.xml and modify ID field as it has to be unique and you can optionally choose to modify other fields as well. Deploy your solution and you can find your site template when you creating your site in either Central admin or Site Creation in Site Actions Menu      Create your site collection using your new site template and then navigate to the site you will find the site created by using your site definition.

• Disable Password Complexity/Expiration etc. Policy on Windows Server 2008

  Ad:: SharePoint 2007 Training in .NET 3.5 technologies (more information). One of the things I like to do, for development environments only is to get rid of that excessively bothersome password policies. I like to have my password as something like p@ssword1, so they are easy to remember etc. etc. Obviously never do this in production. However, Windows Server 2008 comes with a password policy that expires my passwords every 90 days, and requires me to pick complex passwords, can’t reuse passwords etc. etc. Well here is how you disable password policy on a Windows Server 2008 machine - Run Group Policy Management (gpmc.msc) Expand to your domain, look for Forest\Domains\yourdomain\default domain policy. Go to the settings tab, right click on the tab, and choose “Edit”. This will open the Group Policy Management Editor, in which - Go to Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Account Policies\Password Policy, and change the policy to whatever that suits you. Close everything, and run command prompt as administrator, and issue a “gpupdate /force” command to force the group policy update on the machine. Restart, and you’re done! :) Comment on the article ....

• The path to MCSE:SharePoint. The Overview.

  There have been some changes to certifications recently.  And with that new challenges and requirements.  In the past we had MCTS and MCITP or MCPD on a specific product and that was it, now the story is somewhat different. You will need to not only know the product (yes, I am one that still focuses on knowing a product not the test) but also the environment on which it sits or lives (therefore Windows Server and supporting services). The requirements for MCSE: SharePoint now take you through the MCSA:Windows Server 2012.  Many have questioned this, I don’t. Why? I have seen plenty of “accidental SharePoint Farm Administrators” that have no background with the Server OS, much less with the services (like DNS and IIS).  Again, I am not saying this will guarantee knowledge but it does in some way require exposure to it. So, again, the next number of posts will be to provide guidance for the needed knowledge for the test requirements.  If you have seen the way I go about this, you then know I don’t focus on exam questions, but rather providing guidance to the TechNet and MSDN documentation to get to know the product.  I will also in this case go through the process to setup your virtual environment to play with the products and get to know them. Now, the requirements themselves are: MCSA: Windows Server 2012. Exam 70-410: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 Exam 70-411: Administering Windows Server 2012 Exam 70-412: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services SharePoint specific exams. Exam 70-331: Core Solutions of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Exam 70-332: Advanced Solutions of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Passing the 5 exams will grant you the MCSE: SharePoint credential.

• Canonical representation of a class object containing a list element in XML

  I see that most implementations of JAX-RS represent a class object containing a list of elements as follows (assume a class House containing a list of People) <houses> <house> <person> <name>Adam</name> </person> <person> <name>Blake</name> </person> </house> <house> </house> </houses> The result above is obtained for instance from Jersey 2 JAX-RS implementation, notice Jersey creates a wrapper class "houses" around each house, however strangely it doesn't create a wrapper class around each person! I don't feel this is a correct mapping of a list, in other words I'd feel more confortable with something like this: <houses> <house> <persons> <person> <name>Adam</name> </person> <person> <name>Blake</name> </person> </persons> </house> <house> </house> </houses> Is there any document explaining how an object should be correctly mapped apart from any opninion?

  I am developing a module in website to save and retreive friend list. I am using Zend Framework and for DB handling I am using Doctrine(ORM). There are two models: 1) users that stores all the users 2) my_friends that stores the friend list (that is refference table with M:M relation of user) the structure of my_friends is following ...id..........user_id............friend_id........approved.... ...10.........20 ..................25...................1.......... ...10.........21 ..................25...................1.......... ...10.........22 ..................30...................1.......... ...10.........25 ..................30...................1.......... The Doctrine query to retreive friend list id follwing $friends = Doctrine_Query::create()->from('my_friends as mf') ->leftJoin('mf.users as friend') ->where("mf.user_id = 25") ->andWhere("mf.approved = 1"); Suppose I am viewing the user no.- 25. With this query I am only getting the user no.- 30. where as user no.- 25 is also approved friend of user no.- 20 and 21. Please guide me, what should be the query to find all friend and is there any need to change the DB structure.

• Cube chunk via list ToArray()

  I've created a list of vertices that I call for each cube made in my array "cubes". When each cube is create, SetUpVertices is called which is a method that stores the 8 vertices of my cube. At the end of my list creation, I create a vertex buffer, and set the data of the list that contains vertices of all 25 cubes to that vertex buffer, effectively creating a "chunk" of cubes. The problem is that Invalid Operation Exception "The array is not the correct size for the amount of data requested." at the line vertices.ToArray(). I don't have an array for this, as the amount of cubes will be changing and arrays aren't dynamic.
