  I'll be doing four public events in the next week and a half or so.   How to use jasper reports to print something only on the first page. I am using jasper reports for printing invoices and only on the 1st page I need to print the Remit Payment To section with the address following it. Customer address is also present there. The way it is currently designed is that this goes into pageFooter section and we use printWhenExpression(PAGE_NUMBER = 1) so that this only gets printed on the 1st page of the invoice. But the downside of this approach is that the jasper engine reserves the size equivalent of the page footer on all the other pages (1..n) of the invoice. So we are able to use only about 2/3 rd of all pages. Remaining 1/3rd page which is for page footer is blank for all pages except the 1st page. This increases the number of pages. Any ideas for fixing this issue?

• AdvancedDataGrid LockedRowCount not working

  I am trying to lock the 1st row in my ADG. This 1st row is the SummaryRow. When I set the lockedRowCount property to 1, it still does not freeze the 1st row. I have tried with different numbers, but it is still not working. In fact, when I try to trace the value for lockedRowCount, it traces it as 0. Can anyone provide suggestion on how to do this with the lockedRowCount property or if you can provide me with another workaround, that'll be great. Thanks :)

  Hello, few times ago, i asked how to do to display datas per month, i must told a bad explanation because i just figured out that it's not what i want : Here's what I got : $req1 = ... AND v.date > (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 2 MONTH)) AND v.date < (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 1 MONTH)) $req2= ... AND v.date > (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 3 MONTH)) AND v.date < (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 2 MONTH)) But the problem, imagine that today you are the 10th june, it's going to calculate ALL the data between the 10 june to the 10 may then the 10 may until the 10 april... But what i want is data : from 1st may to 1 st june, from 1st june to 1st july... do you see what i mean ? thank you ;)

• How to read an image from disk and block until its read?

  I'm loading 5 images from disk but I want the 1st image I read to show as soon as possible. Right now I do UIImage *img = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:path]; in a for loop but since imageWithContentsOfFile:path isn't blocking all 5 images wind up getting read from disk before the first one will appear (because they're all using up I/O). I confirmed this by just load one and it appeared on screen faster than if I load all 5. I'd like to load the 1st image and block until its fully read and shown before loading the next 4 or load the 1st one and be notified when its done before loading the next 4 but I can't figure out a way to do it. None of the 'WithContentsOfFile' methods for data or image block and they don't notify or have delegate methods. Any suggestions? Thanks

  I'm trying to insert a php excerpt with SQL (I understand this is outdated, but am trying to grasp the syntax first) into my HTML page, and I've got the following table: ID Name Element1 Element2 0 John John's 1st John's 2nd 1 Bill Bill's 1st Bill's 2nd 2 Steve Steven's 1st Steve's 2nd I'm trying to get the for loop that will essentially print out the following in my html page Name: Name where ID=0 Element1: Element1 where ID=0 Element2: Element2 where ID=0 Name: Name where ID=1 Element1: Element1 where ID=1 Element2: Element2 where ID=1 and so forth. Basically, I am trying to make this process automated so that whenever a new record is added into the table, the HTML page will automatically update with a new "profile". Thank you for your help!

• php - efficent way to get and remove first line in file

  Hello, I have a script that each time is called gets the 1st line of a file. Each line is known to be exactly of the same length (32 alphanumerci chars) and terminates with a "\r\n". After getting the 1st line, the script removes it. Now I do in this way: $contents = file_get_contents($file)); $first_line = substr($contents, 0, 32); file_put_contents($file, substr($contents, 32 + 2)); //+2 because we remove also the \r\n Obvioulsy it works, but I was wondering if there could be a smarter (or more efficent) way to do this??? In my simple solution I basically read and rewrite all the file just to take and remove the 1st line. Thanks!

• Fake ISAPI Handler to serve static files with extention that are rewritted by url rewriter

  Introduction I often map html extention to the asp.net dll in order to use url rewritter with .html extentions. Recently, in the new version of www.nouvelair.ca, we renamed all urls to end with .html. This works great, but failed when we used FCK Editor. Static html files would not get serve because we mapped the html extension to the .NET Framework. We can we do to to use .html extension with our rewritter but still want to use IIS behavior with static html files. Analysis I thought that this could be resolve with a simple HTTP handler. We would map urls of static files in our rewriter to this handler that would read the static file and serve it, just as IIS would do. Implementation This is how I coded the class. Note that this may not be bullet proof. I only tested it once and I am sure that the logic behind IIS is more complicated that this. If you find errors or think of possible improvements, let me know. With the exception of zero and one, never hard-code a numeric value; always declare a constant instead. Use the const directive only on natural constants such as the number of days of the week. 1st what is the definition of a natural constants and if the number is not a natural constants given the 1st rule how does one declare a constant in c# without the const directive? • Pong Collision Help in C# w/ XNA

  Edit: My goal is to have it function like this: Ball hits 1st Quarter = rebounds higher (aka Y++) Ball hits 2nd Quarter = rebounds higher (using random value) Ball hits 3rd Quarter = rebounds lower (using random value) Ball hits 4th Quarter = rebounds lower (aka Y--) I'm currently using Rectangle Collision for my collision detection, and it's worked. Now I wish to expand it. Instead of it simply detecting whether or not the paddle/ball intersect, I want to make it so that it can determine what section of the paddle gets hit. I wanted it in 4 parts, with each having a different reaction to impact. My first thought is to base it on the Ball's Y position compared to the Paddle's Y position. But since I want it in 4 parts, I don't know how to do that. So it's essentially be if (ball.Y > Paddle.Y) { PaddleSection1 == true; } Except modified so that instead of being top half/bottom half, it's 1st Quarter, etc.

• How to make Evolution mail work with my work email address?

  this is the 1st time to write here and the 1st time to use a mail client other than outlook. I tried to add my enterprise email address to evolution mail, I tried both server types exchange mapi and microsoft exchange. With exchange mapi i get this error message "Authentication failed. MapiLogonProvider: Failed to login into the server" With Microsoft Exchange I get this error "Could not connect to server . Make sure the URL is correct and try again." Although I'm sure of all the steps Server: ip address of the mail server Username: Domainname\Username Domain: domain name My system is Ubuntu Release 11.04 (natty) Kernel Linux 2.6.38-15-generic Genome 2.32.1 Evolution 2.32.2 Any kind of help is appreciated and thanks in advance

• SQLBits 9 goes to Liverpool

  SQLBits 9 has now been announced as 29th September to 1st October 2011 at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool. This will follow the now familiar three day format, a training day, and two full days of concurrent sessions. Saturday 1st October will of course be the free community day. Despite growing the event quite dramatically over the past four years, this is something we are all very proud to have maintained and is a key factor when planning the events. • Is there a way to customize how the value for a custom Model Field is displayed in a template?

  I am storing dates as an integer field in the format YYYYMMDD, where month or day is optional. I have the following function for formatting the number: def flexibledateformat(value): import datetime, re try: value = str(int(value)) except: return None match = re.match(r'(\d{4})(\d\d)(\d\d)$',str(value)) if match: year_val, month_val, day_val = [int(v) for v in match.groups()] if day_val: return datetime.datetime.strftime(datetime.date(year_val,month_val,day_val),'%b %e, %Y') elif month_val: return datetime.datetime.strftime(datetime.date(year_val,month_val,1),'%B %Y') else: return str(year_val) Which results in the following outputs: >>> flexibledateformat(20100415) 'Apr 15, 2010' >>> flexibledateformat(20100400) 'April 2010' >>> flexibledateformat(20100000) '2010' So I'm wondering if there's a function I can add under the model field class that would automatically call flexibledateformat. So if there's a record r = DataRecord(name='foo',date=20100400) when processed in the form the value would be 20100400 but when output in a template using {{ r.date }} it shows up as "April 2010". Further clarification I do normally use datetime for storing date/time values. In this specific case, I need to record non-specific dates: "x happened in 2009", "y happened sometime in June 1996". The easiest way to do this while still preserving most of the functionality of a date field, including sorting and filtering, is by using an integer in the format of yyyymmdd. That is why I am using an IntegerField instead of a DateTimeField. This is what I would like to happen: I store what I call a "Flexible Date" in a FlexibleDateField as an integer with the format yyyymmdd. I render a form that includes a FlexibleDateField, and the value remains an integer so that functions necessary for validating it and rendering it in widgets work correctly. I call it in a template, as in {{ object.flexibledate }} and it is formatted according to the flexibledateformat rules: 20100416 - April 16, 2010; 20100400 - April 2010; 20100000 - 2010. This also applies when I'm not calling it directly, such as when it's used as a header in admin (http://example.org/admin/app_name/model_name/). I'm not aware if these specific things are possible.

• Networking 2 Virtual PC with one VPC as DHCP server

  My host OS is Win XP Professional. The host has a real network connection via DSL and I created a second network connection using Microsoft Loopback Adapter. Internet connection sharing is enabled. The Microsoft Loopback adapter has a IP address of 192.168.0.1. I have 1 Virtual PC which has Windows Server 2003. I have setup the network connection on this VPC to use Microsoft Loopback Adapter. I setup this VPC to be the Domain Controller , DNS Server and DHCP Server. I set this to a static IP address 192.168.0.2 (on the same subnet as the MS Loopback adapter) I have a second Virtual PC which also has Windows Server 2003. The network connection on this VPC is set to "Local Only". I want this VPC to get its IP address from the 1st VPC on which I setup as a DHCP server. What i want is the 2 VPC should be in a network with one of the VPC acting as the domain controller, DNS Server and DHCP server. The second VPC shoud get its IP address from the 1st VPC. It should be a part of the domain of the 1st VPC. When i tried to make the second VPC get the IP address from the first VPC I am not succeeding. Can somebody post some suggestions on how to go about this ?

  On our Citrix farm, I just found out that some sub-components are "Installed on 1st Use" (Advertised), which does play well on terminal servers. Not only that, but you also get a rather non-descriptive error message, when a document tried to use a component, which is "Installed on 1st Use" (described on Plan to deploy Office 2010 in a Remote Desktop Services environment): Microsoft Office cannot run this add-in. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning correctly. Please contact your system administrator. • Is this a solution for having multiple SSL certificates on the same IP

  I am running CentOS running on a VPS. I read some guides on having multiple SSL certificates on the same system, but I can not get the basics to work. The guide I got that makes the most sense to me is the doing the following. In CentOS I can make virtual NIC's. So I made 2 virtual NIC's to start with. 192.168.10.1, 192.168.10.2. Now I work in ISP manager Pro, so this is listening on my primary ip 1.1.1.1 For each website I have them listening on 192.168.10.1:80, 192.168.10.1:443 In the hosts file I made the following 2 entries 192.168.10.1 1st.com 192.168.10.2 2nd.com Now the strange thing is that when I browser to 1st.com I do not get the website located at 192.168.10.1, I get the website located at my prim IP 1.1.1.1 Should I do something like forwarding or routing for this setup to work? And the basic question: Will this setup even work? Are the SSL certificates based on the IP adress, or are the based on the host name, 1st.com and 2nd.com.

I am trying to write a regex which can parse "No" or "50" based on the given string. This is what I have written. • Date Picker Blue

  I'm successfully setting a date-picker with an initial date from a plist, but I see some unwanted blue values in the month, day, and year components, presumably corresponding to current date. So if today is April 18, 2010 and initial date being set is March 19, 2008, it looks like this (bold represents the blue): January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 First question is: How do I get rid of the blue? And second question: Ideally, how do I get it to look like this? January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 Third question, totally unrelated and not as important: How could I have gotten the above to show in blue rather than bold?
