Can anyone suggest an article or perhaps an example of how to create an "infinite drill-down" with UINavigationController like you see in the Facebook, IMDB and BrightKite apps?
greetings!
when using peoplePickerNavigationController:(ABPeoplePickerNavigationController *)peoplePicker shouldContinueAfterSelectingPerson:(ABRecordRef)person, a view with all of the contact's information is shown. I've seen apps which only display selected info only (e.g. phone numbers)
how can I do this? I only want to display the contact's name and phone numbers.
thank you very much
SPL and PHP allows you to create objects on the fly from classes, that fulfill certain conditions, such as implementing certain interfaces and stuff like that.
However, I would like to do something similar in c# and automatically create objects from all classes in a namespace and invoke a particular method from those classes that implement a certain interface.
My experience developing desktop apps is very limited. I am not quite sure if I should use delegates to archive this or if reflection is really the way to go.
I am using Open Source toolchain to compile my iPhone apps. So I have no Interface Builder or XCode. How would I setup the layout of widgets like UIButton, UITextView, etc. Also, how would I add an event handler to those UI widgets? Please remember that I don't have Interface Builder or XCode.

Is it time to start new projects in Rails 3? I'm nervous about using beta versions but at the same time I really like what they are doing and don't want to deal with legacy 2.3.5 issues with these apps.
Is it better to wait these things out, or buckle-up, deal with early adopter issues and get a head start on the future. Thanks for any light you can shed.
Is there any guidance on creating apps that will run on both professional (touch-screen) and standard (non-touch-screen) devices.
I have a simple application that is mostly text and buttons that in theory should be able to run on both professional and standard devices with little if any modification.
It seems the IDE wants to make this hard to impossible, but I expect it to be possible.
Any advice?
Hello , I was wondering from where i can get more info on how to build plugin based Apps (design patterns , etc ).
Any books and references with detailed information would be helpful.
Also i like how WordpPress was made , if someone can point me on how to build something like WordpPress did would be awesome.

I am working on an ASP.NET MVC application where I need to export data to an excel spreadsheet. Previously, in webforms apps, I used some code I found to render a GridView as an excel-compatible file. This was quite handy. I was wondering what the quickest/most effective method would be to do this in MVC. Thanks.
In iTunes Connect, the first screenshot (on left) is not showing up as the first screenshot in the App Store. In one case the 3rd screenshot in iTunes Connect shows up 1st on the App Store and in another case the 4th screenshot is 1st on the App Store. Does anyone know how to specify the order of images?
I found this question, that says the 1st screenshot in iTunes Connect should be 1st on the App Store, but that is not the case for my 2 apps.

Are there any real resources for creating MySpace Profile Widget apps? I have looked through all the sample code the present and am unable to perform any simple tasks. I basically need to grab the current profile page URL or ID, and then pass this onto an AJAX query and return data from my server.
How do I do this?
What is the easiest way to do a GAE/J datastore backup?
It looks like there is python bulkloader.py tool to do backup for Python apps, but what should I do to backup Java app? Is there any way to use python tool?
I have an app that reads and writes data from sqlite3. I tested it on the simulator it looks like everything is OK. But if the ad-hoc version does a 'delete' or 'insert' query in the sqlite3 file on iPhone, it crashes.
Is it possible to debug ad hoc versions of iPhone apps with XCode?
My question is this: in many free iPhone apps adds which are basically imageViews are buttons. When pressed, they bring you to the iphone App store to buy whichever app was advertised. Can this be tweaked to open a hyperlink in the iphone's safari browser? and if so, how?
i wonder how you can make an advanced Android User interface where you can add for example a drag drop and more graphics options? is that by using OpenGl ?!
this is example of UI in iPhone Apps.

.NET 4.0 is meant to run side-by-side with 3.5 and won't run 3.5 apps, which is making me worried about having to instruct my users to download .NET 3.5 instead of just "the latest version".
I've read in a blog that the 4.0 installer will install 3.5 as well if it's not already installed but I can't test it right now, did anyone try this or have an answer from a trusted source?
I need to design a new framework for web based apps, including both UX guidelines and the art/graphic design guidelines such as what menus will look like, headers, colors, fonts etc.
The UX designers I met, were unable to provide the artistic side, and the graphic designers didn't have the UX skills.
Should I continue to look for one person with both skills, or is it better broken to two separate tasks?
Currently I have a website on the Google App Engine written in Google's webapp framework. What I want to know is what are the benefits of converting my app to run with django? And what are the downsides? Also how did you guys code your GAE apps? Did you use webapp or django? Or did you go an entirely different route and use the Java api?
Thanks
I'm starting to develop an application using MySQL and although I've developed apps before using databases, I've normally gone to the incrementing id method. The other day I was reading a posting somewhere and saw someone being picked apart for this, for not properly "normalising the database". I'm not a big database person, but I wanted to make sure I'm doing this right.
Any ideas, help / guidance?
Hi!
I'm a web developper/objective-c developper and I'd like to learn quickly to make some apps for windows.
I say quick because I'm used to learning many languages and I don't need any overview on concepts, patterns, etc.
Any answers will be very appreciated :)
Thanks!
I'm talking specifically about the kind you get if you click and hold on an app in the dock, or a folder if list view is enabled. Is it a menu style, or a window flag I can set like the brushed metal-style?
Lots of little free apps seem to use it. http://bambooapps.com/free-stuff/ is a good example.
in my apps i am using a actionresult like as a
public actionresult index(param1)
{
return view();
}
are i can redirect from a other actionresult like a
public actionresult second()
{
return view("index"+current.tostring());
}
but when i rediect it is not worked but when i enter on browser address bar or resend request to him then he work fine. are any sollution for it.
