Where could I find good resources and examples for learning how to utilize TCP/IP in c# 2.0? Any suggestions on where to start? I'm pretty new at socket programming.
Hi guys,
Let's assume:
$time = '2010-05-17 02:49:30' // (retrieved from MySQL TIMESTAMP field)
How do I do the following in PHP:
1) Check if it has been more than one week since this time has passed?
2) Assuming "false" on (1), find out how much more time until the one week mark, rounded to days and hours remaining.
I know this is pretty straightforward, but it uses a very specific syntax. Having never played with time calculations before, I'd appreciate some guidance.
Thanks!
With this query, I get a result that is two short of the table because they are not included in count, and I would like get the NULL values in the result. To do this, I am pretty sure I need to use a subquery of some kind, but I am not sure how, since the attribute in question is an aggregate.
SELECT Equipment.SerialNo , Name, COUNT(Assignment.SerialNo)
FROM Equipment
INNER JOIN Assignment
ON Assignment.SerialNo = Equipment.SerialNo
GROUP BY Equipment.SerialNo, Name
I'm not able to figure out the difference between these queries. I'm pretty sure that the first one is an equi-join. I'm not sure how the second one ISN'T the same as the first.
The sub query in #2 selects all Ids from S, and then it returns all R's that also have those ID's, no?
SELECT R.cname
FROM R, S,
WHERE R.Id = S.Id
SELECT R.cname
FROM R
WHERE R.Id IN (SELECT S.Id FROM S)
The topic title pretty much says it all. Does anyone know how the built in dictionary type for python is implemented? My understanding is that it is some sort of hash table, but I haven't been able to find any sort of definitive answer.
Say you've got some IEnumerable called S of length N. I would like to select all continuous subsequences of length n <= N from S.
If S were, say, a string, this'd be pretty easy. There are (S.Length - n + 1) subsequences of length n. For example, "abcdefg" is length (7), so that means it has (5) substrings of length (3): "abc", "bcd", "cde", "def", "efg".
But S could be any IEnumerable, so this route isn't open. How do I use extension methods to solve this?
My goal is pretty simple actually but since there are multiple (and seemingly complex ways to do this) I wonder what I need to do... So I have certain runtime libraries (ADF libraries in particular) that are needed to be added to every project. This parent pom file will just have JAR dependencies in it. How can I use this pom file from a child pom file?
In Windows 7, I have three folders:
"Images",
"assets"
and "all".
I want the contents of "Images " and "assets" to appear in "all" automatically without copying those files into that folder (e.g. I don't want to duplicate the files). I also only want the contents to be copied over and not the folders themslves (The reason for this is that if the folders are copied over, they will become sub-directories. I am using a printing hot folder that access "all" but it can't see any subdirectories in "all").
When Images and Assets are updated (e.g. with files being added or deleted), "all" should automatically update as well.
How can I do this?
This is what I have tried:
Libraries: This is a feature built into Windows. It works exactly as I want. However, the print hot folder cannot recognise the library as a folder.
Sym Link Extension: I can use this to make the "images" and "assets" folders appear as a sub directories of "all". However, I want the contents of "images"/"assets" to appear in the "all" folder (I don't want the directories to appear as sub directories, because as stated, the print hot folder cannot access sub directories).
Hello!
I have some code which shows a simple dialog box and handles user action (written using plain WinAPI).
// Display dialog and handle user action
LRESULT choice = DialogBoxParam(NULL, MAKEINTRESOURCE(AP_IDD_DIALOG), NULL, (DLGPROC)DialogCallback, NULL);
Is there any way to hardcode the resource file dialog.rc, which is used to build the dialog ?(I would like to get rid of .rc files and I'm pretty sure there is a way, yet I don't know what it is :)
Say you have a String literal with a lot of quotation marks inside it. You could escape them all, but it's a pain, and difficult to read.
In some languages, you can just do this:
foo = '"Hello, World"';
In Java, however, '' is used for chars, so you can't use it for Strings this way. Some languages have syntax to work around this. For example, in python, you can do this:
"""A pretty "convenient" string"""
Does Java have anything similar?
Having troubles finding a good way to get a string from a text file (separated by line breaks) randomly.
I want to do a setStringValue:@"random string from file here";
pretty much. Thanks in advance.
I have this loop that runs in O(end - start) and I would like to replace it with something O(1).
If "width" wouldn't be decreasing, it would be pretty simple.
for (int i = start; i <= end; i++, width--)
if (i % 3 > 0) // 1 or 2, but not 0
z += width;
start, end and width have positive values
Python has pretty good date parsing but is the only way to recognize a datetime such as "Today 3:20 PM" or "Yesterday 11:06 AM" by creating a new date today and doing subtractions?
Title pretty much is the question. Is there a performance difference between using string labels in gotoAndStop/Play [gotoAndStop("fire")] and integers [gotoAndStop(5)]?
I have a shell that runs CentOS
For a project I'm doing I need python 2.5+ but centOS is pretty dependent on 2.4
From what I've read a number of things will break if you upgrade to 2.5
I wan't to install 2.5 separately from 2.4 but I'm not sure how to do it. So far I've downloaded the source tarball, untarred it and did a ./configure --prefix=/opt which is where I want it to end up. can I now just make, make install ? or is there more?
I'd like to test whether particular socket options have been set on an existing socket. Ie, pretty much everything you can see in:
#!/usr/bin/env python
'''See possible TCP socket options'''
import socket
sockettypelist = [x for x in dir(socket) if x.startswith('SO_')]
sockettypelist.sort()
for sockettype in sockettypelist:
print sockettype
Anyone know how I can see the options on existing sockets, ie those created by other processes? Alas nearly all the documentation I read on Python socket programming is about making new sockets.
Hi, i was curious if there is some sort of way to change the look and feel of wxpython to something that is more standardized. I am writing a small application for windows and mac os x. And i noticed that Mac formats the layout and look of my application pretty terribly. I looked around online and could not find anything. Any ideas?
Hey everybody,
I'm looking for a more robust and fully featured GUI SVN manager for Mac than what is built into XCode (which works, but only as long as you don't need anything beyond the bare basics and doesn't work for versioning scripts and such created in other editors).
I can use the terminal commands, but I'd really like the option of using a GUI.
On windows I use TortoiseSVN and Visual SVN, which do pretty much everything I need, but as far as I'm aware there's nothing even remotely resembling those on the Mac side.
I'm writing some Erlang code and I'm very unsure whether I should let everything fail fast. One problem I find with fail fast is that for the developer/user the exception generated is pretty meaningless. Any idea what I should return which would not give esoteric and hard to read stack traces?
This is a pretty noobish question – I'm looking at some Cocoa sample code and there's @interface blocks in the .m files as well as the headers. For instance, in the AppDelegate class header, a UIWindow and UI navigation are defined as instance variables, but the @property declarations are actually made in the implementation file. Is there a functional reason for this, is it a stylistic choice, or… ?
I am in the process of creating a knowledgebase website for my office and I find bootstrap pretty awesome. Now, people at work, which may not be HTML savvy, will be creating new articles and then posting them to this knowledge base.
Is there something you can recommend that would allow such type of user to create a document on somthing similar to Microsoft Word but web based and then publish?
Or do I have to write it from scratch?
Thanks for any help.
Hi,
I've seen jquery used to change a form select drop down box in to a 'pretty' drop down list widget. I can't remember where I saw this but does anyone have any links or example code which show examples of how to use jquery to style form elements? I'd prefer it if it was code rather than a built in plug in.
Thanks
Hey all,
I'm currently using SBT to manage my Lift project. I'd like to deploy it, but when I run 'sbt package' it produces a 60MB war file. This seems pretty large - are there ways I could cut down the size?
Thanks!
Is there any way to retrieve information about how many extra displays there are besides the main one, how they are numbered, what the dimensions are, etc? I know this is pretty easy in .net land.
I tried the following && conditional for my if statement and I get a "bad range" error:
<% if (from_today(contact, call.days) == 0..7) && (show_status(contact, call) == 'no status') %>
Why and how can I fix it? The only other way I could do it was to have a second nested if statement and break it apart...not pretty :(
