  • PHP header location redirect causing 500 Internal Server error

    Hi, I I keep getting a 500 Internal Server Error when the script below reaches the header('location:php_email_thankyou.php'). Im not sure what is causing this, as I can place the header expression before or after the if statements and it works fine.   • Streaming PDF via invocation of HTTPHandler using $.get into object element

    What I am trying to do is invoke an HTTPHandler via the $.get method of jQuery which will stream back a PDF and display it in a web page using an object element. My previous method of setting the src attribute of an IFrame to be the result of a handler invocation works, but I would like cross-browser completion notification, so have moved to using $.get(). Sample code: function buttonClick() { $.get("/PDFHandler.ashx", {}, function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest) { var pdfObjectString = "<object data='' type='application/pdf' width='600' height='600'></object>"; var pdfObject = $(pdfObjectString); pdfObject.attr("data", data); $("#container").append(pdfObject); }); As you can see, I am attempting to stick the 'data' variable into an object element. This is not working (no error, PDF just doesn't display), presumably because the data that comes back is binary, yet the attr() method expects a string (I think). My question is thus: how can I invoke an HTTPHandler via $.get and somehow assign the data from the callback to the data attribute of an object?

    I'm using json2.js to create a JSON object which JQUERY posts to the Server. The object looks like: [{"locationID":"16","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"111","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"12","locationDesc":"XXXX"}, {"locationID":"11","locationDesc":"XXXX"}] Problem here is that XXXX sometimes contains quotes like "we're'" etc.... How should I handle this? Do you I escape somewhere or encode in some way? Thanks

  • jQuery.param() - doesn't serialize javascript Date objects?

    jQuery.param({foo: 1}); // => "foo=1" - SUCCESS! jQuery.param({bar: new Date()}); // => "" - OUCH! There is no problem with encodeURIComponent(new Date()), which is what I would have thought param is calling for each member. Also, explicitly using "traditional" param (e.g. jQuery.param(xxx, true)) DOES serialize the date, but alas, that isn't of much help since my data structure isn't flat. Is this because typeof(Date) == "object" and param tries to descend into it to find scalar values? How might one realistically serialize an object that happens to have Date's in it for $.post() etc.?

  • select option clears when page loads in php

    Hey guys, the scenario is this: see select below <form name="limit"> <select name="limiter" onChange="limit(this.value)"> <option selected="selected">&nbsp;</option> <option value="5">5</option> <option value="10">10</option> <option value="15">15</option> </select> </form> I want whenever any option is selected for 3 things to happen: 1.) js limit() function is called which all it does its takes current url, adds new query parameter 'limit' with the user selected value eg: http://localhost/blahblah/apps/category.php?pg=1&catId=3021&limit=5 (this will cause the category.php page to be hit and # of product displayed limited to the value selected by user) 2.)Once the url is hit, it reloads but i DONT want the value selected to reset back to the default (which it currently does). I want it to reflect the users selection after page reload. 3.) Also, when i move to the next page (pagination), i would like the state to be carried ova to the next page (ie. remembering the user selection).

  • jquery load php file - result is not complete

    I'm trying to load or better reload a DIV with content from an included php file. so the file is included in the webadmin.php from the location webadmin/pages.php. Then i alter some data in the DB through serializing. Now I would like to reload the pages.php from the callback of the serialize POST with load();. This all works fine up until the moment the data is supposed to be displayed in the div - i believe its because the php file is loaded from a different location, so the include paths for the DB Connection etc are probably wrong... Should I really write an extra PHP File for jquery or is there a way to tell jquery where to load it from? Its the first time I'm doing this - so bear with me for a moment on this one... Thanks!   • Accessing Element Count and Values Within a Hidden Div

    I'm having trouble grabbing the TR count in JQuery of a table that inside a DIV set to be hidden. Here is an example: <div id="questions" style="display: none;"> <table id="tbl_questions"> <thead> <tr> <th>Question</th> <th>Weight</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr id="q0"> <td id="td_question0">Some Question 0</td> <td id="td_wieght0">Some Weight 0</td> </tr> <tr id="q1"> <td id="td_question1">Some Question 1</td> <td id="td_wieght1">Some Weight 1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> Note the table is within the containing div. It's set to display: none. When I try to run this JQuery code it returns 0. var question_count = $("#tbl_questions> tr").size(); alert(question_count); Any ideas? I'm try to locate the count so I can then build an array of each question and weight in the table. Since the ID's provide me with an index this should be simple, but is the fact that it is contained in a hidden DIV going to be a problem just as the above question? Thanks, Tegan Snyder

    I try to realize a link (in fact many links) that update a table in an website using an AjaxLink of Wicket. But I fail, the table is never updated (I have "setOutputMarkupId(true)" and call "addComponent", but there must be something other thats wrong). How can I realize a panel with a number of links and a table that displays dynamic data, dependent on the link clicked? Can someone give an example (Maybe two links, when the first one is clicked the table displays two random numbers from 1-10, when the second is clicked the table displays random numbers from 1-100)? Without reloading the entire page, but only the html for the table?

The site was design as a interface to display the labs I have to do in my college (the labs are all basic things that I'm way beyond). So I decided to take it all to the next level with this.   • javascript to determine if page on remote domain has changed

    Hi, I am trying to find a client-side way to determine if a page on a remote domain has changed. I can't load the page in an iframe and examine its contents due to same origin policy. So I tried using .getResponseHeader("Content-Length") and .getResponseHeader("Last-Modified") but apparently these are also restricted by SOP even though FireBug shows Content-Length in the console. Is there a way to do this? I just need a way to know if the page has changed. Thx
