In it I have put (via the IB) an image view of a certain frame In 'cellForRowAtIndexPath', under certain conditions, I would like to modify the frame of this UIImageView, so I write something like: UIImageView *imgv = (UIImageView *)[cell viewWithTag:1]; CGRect r = CGRectMake(20.0, 20.0, 10.0, 10.0); imgv.frame = r; But nothing expected happens (The frame does move a little though not to where I want, but doesn't change its size at all);

    Hi! I'm a relative newbie on iPhone app development but have successfully created a tab bar app with 4 tab bar items. I would like to have a one-off registration page for users to key-in information when they open the application for the first time. The registration page should load before the view with the selection of tab bar items loads. What is the best way to do this? Also, how do I load a UIView or UIWebView before the tab bar items load? Any suggestions and sample code would be very much appreciated - thanks!

    I have a table view and want to allow rearranging of all cells, however there are certain cells that i do not want to be allowed to be deleted. when the UiTableView is put into deletion mode i do not want the red '-' button to appear on the left hand side, and do not want the swipe gesture to bring up the Delete button of these cells but want it to happen for the others. Any ideas?

    I have two buttons that both have onTouchListeners and perform an action when pressed down. Why do they not work if you try to click both at the same time? I'm building for Android 1.6. I don't have a real device to test on, and you can't test clicking two things at the same time in the emulator. Thanks for any help.

  • UINavigationController's back button disappears?

    I notice something strange happens to one of my view controller: the back button disappears, yet it's possible to go back to previous view controller by tapping the top left corner (i.e where the button should reside). In my entire file there's no line that set self.navigationItem.hidesBackButton to YES; also NSLog prints 0 as self.navigationItem.hidesBackButton's value in viewDidLoad. This occurs in both the simulator and real device. Any ideas?

  • How do I get a reference to a rootViewController to a sub-view?

    An answer posted for one of my previous questions brings up another question; I am calling a new view controller, "RuleBuilder," from my rootViewController. The rootViewController holds a reference to a contacts array. How do I get a reference to that array into the RuleBuilder? I tried adding UITableViewController *rootViewController; ... @property (nonatomic, retain) UITableViewController *rootViewController; to RuleBuilder.h, and then @synthesize rootViewController; in RuleBuilder.m. When I instantiate and push the RuleBuilder from within rootViewController, I do this: ruleBuilder.rootViewController = self; But when I try this [rootViewController.contacts addObject:newContact]; from within RuleBuilder, I get a compiler error to the effect of "request for 'contacts' in something not a struct" (or very similar; I haven't implemented this exact snippet of code, but I tried an identical approach not an hour ago for a couple of different references that I never was able to get working).   • Why is my view not resizing after rotating?

    I'm only supporting the portrait orientation, but both the right-side-up and upside-down versions. Why do my subviews not resize appropriately? There's a status bar sized black space at the top of the view. If I change tabs and come back, it's corrected.
