What is the easiest way of pulling an excisting method out of it's class and into a new class using Visual studio 2010 / Resharper?
Edit: I use Resharper version 5.
Say that I'm writing a test and my caret is here (indicated by "|"):
[ExpectedException(typeof(InvalidOperationException|))]
In Visual Studio 2010, I'd like to press some shortcut that would take me to the next line so that I could start typing "public void Etc()".
Right now, I need to press
Right arrow
Right arrow
Right arrow
Enter
Which is too many key presses IMO. Is there a VS2010 / ReSharper shortcut to aid this operation?
Under the visual C++, we have " hash_map" and "hash_set". In g++, we have " stdext::hash_map" and " stdext::hash_set". Is there any difference in terms of their respective performance or other factors?
As far as I know some company will use Devexpress to speed up the UI design
some company might use the AssistX .
another question:
is there any plugin which can help to keep a eye on our company 's code convention? If someone don't follow the convention, visual studio will warn him ?
OK, see the numbers? I can barely see them because my Visual Studio 2010 theme has the backround as almost-black, and the numbers show up in the default color, which is black. I can't figure out which setting changes the color for a number in a .sql file. Does anyone know?
In the spirit of undefined behavior associated with sequence points such as “x = ++x” is it really undefined?, how does one get the compiler to complain about such code?
Specifically, I am using Visual Studio 2010 and Xcode 4.3.1, the latter for an OSX app, and neither warned me about this. I even cranked up the warnings on VS2010 to "all", and it happily compiled this. (For the record, VS2010's version added 1 to the variable where Xcode's version kept the variable unchanged.)
Hello,
Googling nor binging "VC++ What's new C++0x" gives me nothing that tells me what is new.Is there an official page at msdn or something similiar that contains the information for VC++ 10? I've seen such for C#,there must be one for what I'd enjoy to read.
If not, please list the new features available in Visual Studio 2010 for VC++.
How can i download all directory from server recursively. I use WinINet and this problem solve very hard. I interested there is some easy way that download files and folders from ftp on visual-c++?
We are trying to integrate visual website optimizer into a site of ours that uses Code Igniter.
The problem is when we go into the VWO control panel to look at stats and previews nothing seems to be working. In the previews panel, all of them come up as code igniter error pages that say "The URI you submitted has disallowed characters."
I have researched some solutions to this and have tried changing the regex in system/config to allow more characters, all characters etc and I am still having the problem.
Any known issues or problems trying to integrate VWO and Code Igniter? This definitely seems to be a url issue but I can't nail it down.
I need to monitor a directory which contains many files and a process reads and deletes the .txt files from the directory; once all the .txt files are consumed, the consuming process needs to be killed. How do I check if all the .txt files are consumed using C++?
I am developing my application on Visual Studio on windows platform.
I did a git merge and ended up with a file like that looks like this:
class member extends item{
/********CONSTANTS**********/
const is_flaggable = true;
const is_commentable = false;
const is_ratable = false;
const table = 'member';
<<<<<<< HEAD
const table_about = 'mem_about' ;
const table_to_about = 'mem_to_about' ;
const table_hobbies = 'mem_to_hobby';
=======
const table_friendship = 'friendship';
const table_about = 'mem_about' ;
const table_to_about = 'mem_to_about' ;
const table_hobbies = 'mem_to_hobby';
const table_friendship_id = 3;
>>>>>>> my-copy
In this file there are many blocks like this. Is there a visual tool to help me look at this file and pick and choose the changes I want? Most of the diff tools I found are for looking at two files.
When I add a control to a form, visual studio assigns various of the properties of that form a value of null in the auto-generated designer code.
I don't want the designer to make the redundant assignment (the value is already null).
Can anyone tell me how to prevent it?
example
MyControl has property
public SomeClass MyProperty
{
get { return m_MyValue; }
set { m_MyValue = value; }
}
designer then autogenerates the following:
myControl1.MyProperty = null;
I have a debug .exe file that i want to run on other machines that don't have MS Visual Studio 2008 installed on them. How can this be done? The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why).
At the moment I'm getting a message saying "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect".
An ideas?
Cheers.
Hello,
i looks for pseudo graphics lib for C++ under Visual Studio, lib like in TurboVision in Borland Turbo C++ or NCurser.. Or can i do it with standart c++ libs ?
Thanks.
I keep getting class undefined error from Visual Studio with my C++ code.
My file looks like this:
namespace myProject;
scope myProject{
class FreeFormWindowsWidgetWindow : public WindowsWidget{
// shell
}
}
But when I put FreeFormWindowsWidgetWindow in the same file as my other classes, it sees it. It doesn't seem to see anything in this file.
How can I fix it and keep FreeFormWidgetWindow in its own file?
The question explains it all.
I have different classlibraries but I would like to compile them into one general DLL.
Is this possible?
I'm using .NET 3.5 with visual studio 2008.
cheers,
M
I need to generate different assembly names depending on the platform target. For example, I have a console application "bob.exe". Instead of building for AnyCPU, I need to build explicitly for x86 and x64 and thus want "bob32.exe" and "bob64.exe". The Application tab in Visual Studio 2010 project options disables the Platform combobox. Build Events also don't allow options per platform so I can't rename it afterwards very easily.
My MSI installer created with Visual Studio 2008 refuses to install the app in the designated directory and instead will only install the app in the root directory. If I take the same MSI and install in on an x86 system the installer installs the app in the directory specified.
I am developing the app and MSI on Server 2008 and Win7 RC x64 (Hyper-V). I see the same results on either development platform.
Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to change the appearance of a button to use an image in Visual Studio Windows Mobile development.
I have tried using a picture box but found the event handler was very slow to execute.
Thanks.
Can anyone help me how to get (or log) all URLs accessed by web browsers in a computer. Together with its response time?
Note: visual C++ will be the Programming language to be use and this will run under windows platform.
I went to http://www.asp.net/mvc and the web installer offered me the option to install MVC 2, but not MVC 1.
I thought MVC 2 was still in beta? Either way, I need to write an MVC 1 app. In visual studio, my only choice is either ASP.NET Web Application or ASP.NET MVC 2 Web Application.
Can anyone advise?
When I try to run a new TestMethod on an existing TestClass in Visual Studio 2010 (by right-clicking on the method name and choosing Run Tests) the test method does not execute.
After a restart of VS, the problem has gone.
Am I missing some refresh thing, or is right-clicking even the correct way of executing a single test method?
I'm looking for a tool (preferably, a Visual Studio plugin) that would display all files included by a given file and show all files included by those files and so on.
