    AFAIK accessing thumbnails for images via MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails would generate thumbnails at first attempt, and that's what i need to perform against specific location on sd card. The question is how to make valid URI to content under specific folder? All answers i can find use just MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI as uri to make managedQuery. And result of it is Cursor that points to all sdcard images, while none examples can be found on how to access only specific folder.

  • NetworkOnMainThreadException while using AsyncTask

    Im making an app that uses the internet to retrive information. I get an NetworkOnMainThreadException as i tried to run it on 3.0 and above and have therefore tried to set it up using AsyncTask, but it still gives the exception and i don't know what is wrong. Oddly enough i read on this thread Android NetworkOnMainThreadException inside of AsyncTask that if you just removes the android:targetSdkVersion="10" statement from the manifest file it will be able to run. This works but i don't find it as the right solution to solve the problem this way. So if anyone can tell me what im doing wrong with the AsyncTask i will really appriciate it. Also if there is anybody that knows why removing the statement in the manifest makes it work, im really interested in that also.     I have an activity which has a TabHost containing a set of TabSpecs each with a listview containing the items to be displayed by the tab. When each TabSpec is created, I set an icon to be displayed in the tab header. The TabSpecs are created in this way within a setupTabs() method which loops to create the appropriate number of tabs: TabSpec ts = mTabs.newTabSpec("tab"); ts.setIndicator("TabTitle", iconResource); ts.setContent(new TabHost.TabContentFactory( { public View createTabContent(String tag) { ... } }); mTabs.addTab(ts); There are a couple instances where I want to be able to change the icon which is displayed in each tab during the execution of my program. Currently I am deleting all the tabs, and calling the above code again to re-create them. mTabs.getTabWidget().removeAllViews(); mTabs.clearAllTabs(true); setupTabs(); Is there a way to replace the icon that is being displayed without deleting and re-creating all of the tabs?

    Hi, I've more than one Handlers in an Activity. I create all the handlers in the onCreate() of the main activity. My understanding is the handlerMessage() method of each handler will never be called at the same time because all messages are put in the same queue (the Activity thread MessageQueue). Therefore, they will be executed in the order in which are put into the Queue. They will also be executed in the main activity thread.     Hi all, I don't know if the title is very clear, but my issue is as follows : I have an activity with a listview, and on top of this listview, i have a searchfield (edittext). The issue is that when i try debugging on a phone, the virtual keyboard gets out straight after the screen displays the activity... And of course, it's hidding half of the list... So, is there an attribute or something I can use to prevent this from happening?(I still want to keybord to appear when i click the edittext though...) thank you

Problem is that it seems like the serializer stops adding any new element and/or attribute to the xml document when it reaches certain length (perhaps 10,000 char?).
