  • MovieViewControl unable to become a receiver during Broadcast

    - by Paulina D
    Hi! I'm currently trying to catch a broadcast message with the MovieViewControl class, already added the filter in the Manifest //In MovieViewControl private static final String SERVICECMD = "com.android.music.musicservicecommand"; private static final String CMDNAME = "command"; private static final String CMDPAUSE = "pause"; @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { String intentAction = intent.getAction(); if (AudioManager.ACTION_AUDIO_BECOMING_NOISY.equals(intentAction)) { Intent i = new Intent(intent.ACTION_MAIN); i.setAction(SERVICECMD); i.putExtra(CMDNAME, CMDPAUSE); mVideoView.pause(); context.startActivity(i); } } but when I do my trial, I get this (very) huge exception: W/dalvikvm( 1630): threadid=3: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x4001b1b8) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate receiver com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader@438ff048 E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleReceiver(ActivityThread.java:2616) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$3100(ActivityThread.java:119) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1913) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4363) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader@438ff048 E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at dalvik.system.PathClassLoader.findClass(PathClassLoader.java:243) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:573) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:532) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleReceiver(ActivityThread.java:2609) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): ... 10 more Any hints on what might I be missing?   • Java: reusable encapsulation with interface, abstract class or inner classes?

    - by HH
    I try to encapsulate. Exeption from interface, static inner class working, non-static inner class not working, cannot understand terminology: nested classes, inner classes, nested interfaces, interface-abstract-class -- sounds too Repetitive! Exception 'illegal type' from interface apparently because values being constants(?!) static interface userInfo { File startingFile=new File("."); String startingPath="dummy"; try{ startingPath=startingFile.getCanonicalPath(); }catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();} } Working code but no succes with non-static inner class import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class listTest{ public interface hello{String word="hello word from Interface!";} public static class hej{ hej(){} private String hejo="hello hallo from Static class with image"; public void printHallooo(){System.out.println(hejo);} } public class nonStatic{ nonStatic(){} //HOW TO USE IT? public void printNonStatic(){System.out.println("Inside static class with an image!");} } public static void main(String[] args){ //INTERFACE TEST System.out.println(hello.word); //INNNER CLASS STATIC TEST hej h=new hej(); h.printHallooo(); //INNER CLASS NON-STATIC TEST nonStatic ns=new nonStatic(); ns.printNonStatic(); //IS there a way to it without STATIC? } } Output The above code works but how non-staticly? Output: hello word from Interface! hello hallo from Static class with image! StaticPrint without an image of the class! Related Nesting classes inner classes? interfacses

  • FileReference.download() not working

    - by Lowgain
    I'm building a Flex app which requires me to download files. I have the following code: public function execute(event:CairngormEvent) : void { var evt:StemDownloadEvent = event as StemDownloadEvent; var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(evt.data.file_path); var localRef:FileReference = new FileReference(); localRef.addEventListener(Event.OPEN, _open); localRef.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, _progress); localRef.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, _complete); localRef.addEventListener(Event.CANCEL, _cancel); localRef.addEventListener(Event.SELECT, _select); localRef.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, _securityError); localRef.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, _ioError); try { localRef.download(req); } catch (e:Error) { SoundRoom.logger.log(e); } } As you can see, I hooked up every possible event listener as well. When this executes, I get the browse window, and am able to select a location, and click save. After that, nothing happens. I have each event handler hooked up to my logger, and not a single one is being called! Is there something missing here?

  • Facebook Application with PHP running loosing session

    - by ArneRie
    Iam trying to build an Facebook Application based on PHP. The Application is running under php on my own Webhost inside an Canvas as iFrame. I have included the newest Client Library for PHP from Facebook: facebook-php-sdk-94fcb13 To Authorize the user inside my application iam trying to use Facebook Connect, like the example shipped with the Client. Everything works fine the 1st Login, but when i hit the F5 Key to reload the page, the session is lost and i have to login again. When i call my application outside of the Facebook Canvas everything is fine. Iam not sure, but i think my Browser (Chrome/FireFox - Ubuntu) is not allowing to store an cookie inside an iFrame. Does someone knows an solution for this Problem? Here are some Parts of the Sourcecode: $facebook = new Facebook(array( 'appId' => 'x', 'secret' => 'x', 'cookie' => 'true', )); $session = $facebook->getSession(); $facebook->setSession($session); $me = null; // Session based API call. if ($session) { try { $uid = $facebook->getUser(); $me = $facebook->api('/me'); } catch (FacebookApiException $e) { error_log($e); } } // login or logout url will be needed depending on current user state. if ($me) { $logoutUrl = $facebook->getLogoutUrl(); } else { $loginUrl = $facebook->getLoginUrl(); }

  • .Net Entity objectcontext thread error

    - by Chris Klepeis
    I have an n-layered asp.net application which returns an object from my DAL to the BAL like so: public IEnumerable<SourceKey> Get(SourceKey sk) { var query = from SourceKey in _dataContext.SourceKeys select SourceKey; if (sk.sourceKey1 != null) { query = from SourceKey in query where SourceKey.sourceKey1 == sk.sourceKey1 select SourceKey; } return query.AsEnumerable(); } This result passes through my business layer and hits the UI layer to display to the end users. I do not lazy load to prevent query execution in other layers of my application. I created another function in my DAL to delete objects: public void Delete(SourceKey sk) { try { _dataContext.DeleteObject(sk); _dataContext.SaveChanges(); } catch (Exception ex) { Debug.WriteLine(ex.Message + " " + ex.StackTrace + " " + ex.InnerException); } } When I try to call "Delete" after calling the "Get" function, I receive this error: New transaction is not allowed because there are other threads running in the session This is an ASP.Net app. My DAL contains an entity data model. The class in which I have the above functions share the same _dataContext, which is instantiated in my constructor. My guess is that the reader is still open from the "Get" function and was not closed. How can I close it?

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, B.J.

  • Cannot implicity convert type void to System.Threading.Tasks.Task<bool>

    - by sagesky36
    I have a WCF Service that contains the following method. All the methods in the service are asynchrounous and compile just fine. public async Task<Boolean> ValidateRegistrationAsync(String strUserName) { try { using (YeagerTechEntities DbContext = new YeagerTechEntities()) { DbContext.Configuration.ProxyCreationEnabled = false; DbContext.Database.Connection.Open(); var reg = await DbContext.aspnet_Users.FirstOrDefaultAsync(f => f.UserName == strUserName); if (reg != null) return true; else return false; } } catch (Exception) { throw; } } My client application was set to access the WCF service with the check box for the "Allow generation of asynchronous operations" and it generated the proxy just fine. I am receiving the above subject error when trying to call this WCF service method from my client with the following code. Mind you, I know what the error message means, but this is my first time trying to call an asynchronous task in a WCF service from a client. Task<Boolean> blnMbrShip = db.ValidateRegistrationAsync(FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(cn.Value).Name); What do I need to do to properly call the method so the design time compile error disappears? Thanks so much in advance...

  • ClassNotFoundException com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

    - by Dusk
    This question might have asked here number of times . After doing some google search for the above error and doing some update, I can't understand why I'm still getting that error. I've already put my driver-- mysql-connector-java-5.1.5-bin in the classpath: Java_Home\jre\lib\ Java_Home\jre\lib\ext\ Java_Home\lib and the code which I'm using to connect to mysql database is: try{ Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mail","root",""); Statement stmt = con.createStatement(); ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select message_body from deadletter"); String dbtime; while (rs.next()) { dbtime = rs.getString(1); System.out.println(dbtime); } con.close(); } catch (SQLException e) { System.out.println("Connection Failed! Check output console"); e.printStackTrace(); } } and the complete stacktrace of the above exception is: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc:Driver at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:307) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:169) at mail.main(mail.java:114) Now, what's wrong I'm doing here?

  • Getting input and output from a jar file run from java class?

    - by Jack L.
    Hi, I have a jar file that runs this code: public class InputOutput { /** * @param args * @throws IOException */ public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { boolean cont = true; BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); while (cont) { System.out.print("Input something: "); String temp = in.readLine(); if (temp.equals("end")) { cont = false; System.out.println("Terminated."); } else System.out.println(temp); } } } I want to program another java class that executes this jar file and can get the input and send output to it. Is it possible? The current code I have is this but it is not working: public class JarTest { /** * Test input and output of jar files * @author Jack */ public static void main(String[] args) { try { Process io = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java -jar InputOutput.jar"); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(io.getInputStream())); OutputStreamWriter out = new OutputStreamWriter(io.getOutputStream()); boolean cont = true; BufferedReader consolein = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); while (cont) { String temp = consolein.readLine(); out.write(temp); System.out.println(in.readLine()); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } Thanks for your help

  • Blackberry application works in simulator but not device

    - by Kai
    I read some of the similar posts on this site that deal with what seems to be the same issue and the responses didn't really seem to clarify things for me. My application works fine in the simulator. I believe I'm on Bold 9000 with OS 4.6. The app is signed. My app makes an HTTP call via 3G to fetch an XML result. type is application/xhtml+xml. In the device, it gives no error. it makes no visual sign of error. I tell the try catch to print the results to the screen and I get nothing. HttpConnection was taken right out of the demos and works fine in sim. Since it gives no error, I begin to reflect back on things I recall reading back when the project began. deviceside=true? Something like that? My request is simply HttpConnection connection = (HttpConnection)Connector.open(url); where url is just a standard url, no get vars. Based on the amount of time I see the connection arrows in the corner of the screen, I assume the app is launching the initial communication to my server, then either getting a bad result, or it gets results and the persistent store is not functioning as expected. I have no idea where to begin with this. Posting code would be ridiculous since it would be basically my whole app. I guess my question is if anyone knows of any major differences with device versus simulator that could cause something like http connection or persistent store to fail? A build setting? An OS restriction? Any standard procedure I may have just not known about that everyone should do before beginning device testing? Thanks

  • MySQL Connector: parameters not being added

    - by LookitsPuck
    Hey all! Looking at my query log for MySQL, I see my parameters aren't being added. Here's my code: MySqlConnection conn = new MySqlConnection(ApplicationVariables.ConnectionString()); MySqlCommand com = new MySqlCommand(); try { conn.Open(); com.Connection = conn; com.CommandText = String.Format(@"SELECT COUNT(*) AS totalViews FROM pr_postreleaseviewslog AS prvl WHERE prvl.dateCreated BETWEEN (@startDate) AND (@endDate) AND prvl.postreleaseID IN ({0})" , ids); com.CommandType = CommandType.Text; com.Parameters.Add(new MySqlParameter("@startDate", thisCampaign.Startdate)); com.Parameters.Add(new MySqlParameter("@endDate", endDate)); numViews = Convert.ToInt32(com.ExecuteScalar()); } catch (Exception ex) { } finally { conn.Dispose(); com.Dispose(); } Looking at the query log, I see this: SELECT COUNT(*) AS totalViews FROM pr_postreleaseviewslog AS prvl WHERE prvl.dateCreated BETWEEN (@startDate) AND (@endDate) AND prvl.postreleaseID IN (1,2) I've used the MySQL .NET connector on countless projects (I actually have a base class that takes care of opening these connections, and closing them with transactions, etc.). However, I took over this application, and here I am now. Thanks for the help!

  • General JDBC Setup

    - by AeroDroid
    So I have a MySQL database set up on a Debian server and it works fine from a phpMyAdmin client. I'm currently working on a project to write a Java server that would be able to use the MySQL database that is already on this server through a JDBC connection. I've looked at many tutorials and documentations but all of them seem to just explain how to do client-side code, but I have yet to figure out how to even successfully open a JDBC connection to the server. As far as I am concerned, I believe that program has the drivers properly set up because it's not crashing anymore (I simply direct the Java Build Path of my program to the Connector/J provided by MySQL). As far as my program goes, this is what it looks like... import java.sql.*; public class JDBCTest { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Started!"); try { DriverManager.registerDriver(new com.mysql.jdbc.Driver()); System.out.println("Driver registered. Connecting..."); Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/", "root", "password"); System.out.println("Connected!"); conn.close(); } catch (SQLException e) { System.out.println("Error!"); e.printStackTrace(); } } } This is what's printed... Started! Driver registered. Connecting... It's as if the DriverManager.getConnection(String) just freezes there. I'm sure this is a problem with the server because when I intentionally misspell localhost, or an IP address, the program crashes within 20 seconds. This just hangs there forever. Sorry about this wall of text, but my final question is if anyone has any information what I should do or install on the server to get this to work? Thank you so much!

  • WebClient Lost my Session

    - by kamiar3001
    Hi folks I have a problem first of all look at my web service method : [WebMethod(), ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public string GetPageContent(string VirtualPath) { WebClient client = new WebClient(); string content=string.Empty; client.Encoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8; try { if (VirtualPath.IndexOf("______") > 0) content = client.DownloadString(HttpContext.Current.Request.UrlReferrer.AbsoluteUri.Replace("Main.aspx", VirtualPath.Replace("__", "."))); else content = client.DownloadString(HttpContext.Current.Request.UrlReferrer.AbsoluteUri.Replace("Main.aspx", VirtualPath)); } catch { content = "Not Found"; } return content; } As you can see my web service method read and buffer page from it's localhost it works and I use it to add some ajax functionality to my web site it works fine but my problem is Client.DownloadString(..) lost all session because my sessions are all null which are related to this page for more description. at page-load in the page which I want to load from my web service I set session : HttpContext.Current.Session[E_ShopData.Constants.SessionKey_ItemList] = result; but when I click a button in the page this session is null I mean it can't transfer session. How I can solve this problem ? my web service is handled by some jquery code like following : $.ajax({ type: "Post", url: "Services/NewE_ShopServices.asmx" + "/" + "GetPageContent", data: "{" + "VirtualPath" + ":" + mp + "}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", complete: hideBlocker, success: LoadAjaxSucceeded, async: true, cache: false, error: AjaxFailed });

  • Python: Catching / blocking SIGINT during system call

    - by danben
    I've written a web crawler that I'd like to be able to stop via the keyboard. I don't want the program to die when I interrupt it; it needs to flush its data to disk first. I also don't want to catch KeyboardInterruptedException, because the persistent data could be in an inconsistent state. My current solution is to define a signal handler that catches SIGINT and sets a flag; each iteration of the main loop checks this flag before processing the next url. However, I've found that if the system happens to be executing socket.recv() when I send the interrupt, I get this: ^C Interrupted; stopping... // indicates my interrupt handler ran Traceback (most recent call last): File "crawler_test.py", line 154, in <module> main() ... File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/socket.py", line 397, in readline data = recv(1) socket.error: [Errno 4] Interrupted system call and the process exits completely. Why does this happen? Is there a way I can prevent the interrupt from affecting the system call?

  • inserting selected page from one word document in another word document with c#

    - by daemonkid
    I have a requirement to move selected pages from word DocumentA into another word DocumentB. So in the end DocumentB should have its own contents plus selected pages from DocumentA inserted at selected pages in DocumentB. The page number in DocumentB I will set thru properties. This is the code I am using to just append contents of DocumentA to DocumentB. object missing = System.Reflection.Missing.Value; Word._Application wordApp = new Word.Application(); Word._Document aDoc = new Word.Document(); try { wordApp.Visible = false; object readOnly = false; object isVisible = false; aDoc = wordApp.Documents.Open(ref fPath1, ref missing, ref readOnly, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref isVisible, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); Word.Selection selection = wordApp.Selection; selection.InsertFile(fPath2, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); aDoc.Save(); wordApp.Quit(ref missing, ref missing, ref missing); } catch(Exception ex) { throw new Exception(ex.Message); } finally { wordApp = null; aDoc = null; } However, I keep getting this exception 'object reference not set to instance of object' at the line 'selection.InsertFile...' What is going wrong here? And how do I insert contents of page 2 from DocumentA into page 3 of DocumentB? Thanks for your time.

  • How do I update blackberry UI items from a thread?

Instead to get all the text labels one by one, something like display text1player wait this.duration milliseconds display text2player wait 1000 milliseconds display text3player thread done. The screens waits this.duration + 1000 milliseconds and displays all the labels at once. I tried with a runnable and calling .invokeLater or .invokeAndWait but I still get the same behavior, and even if I get dirty like above using synchronized it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can display each label at a time? Thank you!

Can the same be done in a shorter and more elegant way with the usage of the Swing timer? import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.SwingUtilities; public class CountdownNew { static JLabel label; // Method which defines the appearance of the window. public static void showGUI() { JFrame frame = new JFrame("Simple Countdown"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); label = new JLabel("Some Text"); frame.add(label); frame.pack(); frame.setVisible(true); } // Define a new thread in which the countdown is counting down. public static Thread counter = new Thread() { public void run() { for (int i=10; i>0; i=i-1) { updateGUI(i,label); try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch(InterruptedException e) {}; } } }; // A method which updates GUI (sets a new value of JLabel). private static void updateGUI(final int i, final JLabel label) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater( new Runnable() { public void run() { label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds."); } } ); } public static void main(String[] args) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { showGUI(); counter.start(); } }); } }

  • ClassCleanup in MSTest is static, but the build server uses nunit to run the unit tests. How can i a

    - by Kettenbach
    Hi All, MSTest has a [ClassCleanup()] attribute, which needs to be static as far as I can tell. I like to run through after my unit tests have run,and clean up my database. This all works great, however when I go to our build server and use our Nant build script, it seems like the unit tests are run with NUnit. NUnit doesn't seem to like the cleanup method to be static. It therefore ignores my tests in that class. What can I do to remedy this? I prefer to not use [TestCleanUp()] as that is run after each test. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know [TestCleanup()] aids in decoupling, but I really prefer the [ClassCleanup()] in this situation. Here is some example code. ////Use ClassCleanup to run code after all tests have run [ClassCleanup()] public static void MyFacadeTestCleanup() { UpdateCleanup(); } private static void UpdateCleanup() { DbCommand dbCommand; Database db; try { db = DatabaseFactory.CreateDatabase(TestConstants.DB_NAME); int rowsAffected; dbCommand = db.GetSqlStringCommand("DELETE FROM tblA WHERE biID=@biID"); db.AddInParameter(dbCommand, "biID", DbType.Int64, biToDelete); rowsAffected = db.ExecuteNonQuery(dbCommand); Debug.WriteLineIf(rowsAffected == TestConstants.ONE_ROW, string.Format("biId '{0}' was successfully deleted.", biToDelete)); } catch (SqlException ex) { } finally { dbCommand = null; db = null; biDelete = 0; } } Thanks for any pointers and yes i realize I'm not catching anything. I need to get passed this hurdle first. Cheers, ~ck in San Diego

  • problem configure JBoss to work with JNDI

    - by Spiderman
    I am trying to bind connection to the DB using JNDI in my application that runs on JBoss. I did the following: I created the datasource file oracle-ds.xml filled it with the relevant xml elements: <datasources> <local-tx-datasource> <jndi-name>bilby</jndi-name> ... </local-tx-datasource> </datasources> and put it in the folder \server\default\deploy Added the relevant oracle jar file than in my application I performed: JndiObjectFactoryBean factory = new JndiObjectFactoryBean(); factory.setJndiName("bilby"); try{ factory.afterPropertiesSet(); dataSource = factory.getObject(); } catch(NamingException ne) { ne.printStackTrace(); } and this cause the error: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: bilby not bound then in the output after this error occured I saw the line: 18:37:56,560 INFO [ConnectionFactoryBindingService] Bound ConnectionManager 'jb oss.jca:service=DataSourceBinding,name=bilby' to JNDI name 'java:bilby' So what is my configuration problem? I think that it may be that JBoss first loads and runs the .war file of my application and only then it loads the oracle-ds.xml that contain my data-source definition. The problem is that they are both located in the same folder. Is there a way to define priority of loading them, or maybe this is not the problem at all. Any idea?

  • Destructors not called when native (C++) exception propagates to CLR component

    - by Phil Nash
    We have a large body of native C++ code, compliled into DLLs. Then we have a couple of dlls containing C++/CLI proxy code to wrap the C++ interfaces. On top of that we have C# code calling into the C++/CLI wrappers. Standard stuff, so far. But we have a lot of cases where native C++ exceptions are allowed to propagate to the .Net world and we rely on .Net's ability to wrap these as System.Exception objects and for the most part this works fine. However we have been finding that destructors of objects in scope at the point of the throw are not being invoked when the exception propagates! After some research we found that this is a fairly well known issue. However the solutions/ workarounds seem less consistent. We did find that if the native code is compiled with /EHa instead of /EHsc the issue disappears (at least in our test case it did). However we would much prefer to use /EHsc as we translate SEH exceptions to C++ exceptions ourselves and we would rather allow the compiler more scope for optimisation. Are there any other workarounds for this issue - other than wrapping every call across the native-managed boundary in a (native) try-catch-throw (in addition to the C++/CLI layer)?

  • ASP.NET MVC Posted date field comes in as 1/1/0001

    - by engil
    Just started working with .NET and MVC(1). I'm having a problem wherein in my add action the entered date for some reason ends up as 1/1/0001 instead of what is entered thus causing a date overflow. In my model, this field ("Added") is is of type datetime and does not allow nulls. In my controller I have: public ActionResult Add() { Instance instance = new Instance() { Added = DateTime.Now, Active = true }; return View(instance); } [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Add(Instance instance) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { try { System.Diagnostics.Trace.Write("test"); instanceRepository.Add(instance); instanceRepository.Save(); return RedirectToAction("Details", new { id = instance.InstanceID }); } catch { ModelState.AddRuleViolations(instance.GetRuleViolations()); } } return View(instance); } And in my view I have: <div class="editor-label"> <%= Html.LabelFor(model => model.Added) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Added,String.Format("{0:g}",Model.Added))%> <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Added) %> When I first go to Instances/Add the default value is set correctly, however as soon as I submit the date turns into 1/1/0001 (from my understanding this indicates that it was either null or in an unrecognizable format) When I debug and palce a watch on Request.Form I see the date coming in encoded ie Request.Form {Added=4%2f9%2f2010+8%3a24%3a39+AM} - is this an issue? I know its probably not enough information to make a conlusive determination on why this is failing, but if someone could provide some good debugging tips on how to determine where the submitted date is getting munged I'd really appreciate it.

  • jQuery check offset

    - by Glister
    HTML: <ul class="clients"> <li> <div class="over left">Description</div> <div class="inner">Image</div> </li> </ul> CSS: .clients { margin-right: -20px; } .clients li { float: left; width: 128px; height: 120px; margin: 0 20px 20px 0; border: 1px solid #c2c2c2; } .clients .over { display: none; position: absolute; width: 250px; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; background: #ecf5fb; margin: 3px 0 0 3px; padding: 18px; z-index: 25; } .clients .right { margin: 3px 0 0 -161px; } .clients .inner { width: 128px; height: 120px; overflow: hidden; } So, we have a list of floated squares and a popup blocks in each, which have absolute position. JS: jQuery(function($) { $('input[title!=""]').hint(); $(".clients li").bind('mouseover mouseout',function(){$(this).find("div.over").toggle()}); }); If over - show, else - hide. Quite ok, but it must be more advanced, we should catch an offset and give a class to .over block: if offset from right (corner of browser window) less than 150px, then add class "right" for a .over block. if offset from right more than 150px - add class "left" for a .over block. How can we do it?
