This makes it super simple for DIYers to mount their gear right into the legs of the table with no modification necessary. In this case, however, Winston Smith included a clever update to the mod. Rather than leave it like a standard table, he flipped the table upside down for increased stability and a stronger connection between the legs of his improvised audio rack and the table-top-turned-floor-plate. • Trouble migrating Joomla from Linux to Windows server

  I'm having some trouble migrating a Joomla website from a Linux server to a Windows server. The database came over fine, Besides that, all I've done is download all the files from the current site, and change configuration.php so the log and tmp directories show "./tmp/" and "./logs/" I keep having an error in the PHP log stating PHP Fatal error: Class 'JTable' not found I've downloaded the site multiple times now, and I'm convinced this is a configuration problem, and not a missing file problem. I've even tried installing a mod for backup on the linux box to try and migrate the site, but sadly the mod had problems installing. The new server is running IIS 7.5 on Windows Web Server. • Choice of node.js modules to demo flexibility

  I'm putting together a presentation to talk about and demo node.js to client-side JavaScript developers. The language concepts and syntax are not an issue for them, so instead I'd like to get right into things and show off node's abilities that differ from client-side scripting. There are numerous modules available in the NPM registry and many people have much more experience with the registry than I do. I'm looking for a selection of node modules based on recommendations from your experience that show a variety of uses for node that are practical, broadly useful and can be demonstrated with a small code sample without requiring much domain knowledge on behalf of the audience. Neat and impressive is good too - I can throw in a couple of shock and awe items for cool factor. To be fair, top-voted answers will get most consideration for inclusion. My hope is this will result in a well-rounded demonstration of node technology.

• Transferring local site to shared hosting

  I'm looking to setup a simple online text processing tool similar to the Clang demo. The processing program itself is a C++ program which I can modify to provide the desired output I need. Since I use Linux+Perl daily and have used Apache in the past, I'd like to get this working locally first. My two questions are: Is it possible to do this with only Apache and Perl? I've looked into frameworks for doing this and quickly ran into The Paradox Of Choice. Will I be able to easily transfer a working local site to a shared hosting service? I want to administer as little as possible. My understanding is since this needs to run a C++ program that CGI is a requirement and thus I need to administer the httpd server. Hopefully this doesn't mean a VPS. Thanks

• Can higher-order functions in FP be interpreted as some kind of dependency injection?

  According to this article, in object-oriented programming / design dependency injection involves a dependent consumer, a declaration of a component's dependencies, defined as interface contracts, an injector that creates instances of classes that implement a given dependency interface on request. Let us now consider a higher-order function in a functional programming language, e.g. the Haskell function filter :: (a -> Bool) -> [a] -> [a] from Data.List. This function transforms a list into another list and, in order to perform its job, it uses (consumes) an external predicate function that must be provided by its caller, e.g. the expression filter (\x -> (mod x 2) == 0) [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10] selects all even numbers from the input list. But isn't this construction very similar to the pattern illustrated above, where the filter function is the dependent consumer, the signature (a -> Bool) of the function argument is the interface contract, the expression that uses the higher-order is the injector that, in this particular case, injects the implementation (\x -> (mod x 2) == 0) of the contract. More in general, can one relate higher-order functions and their usage pattern in functional programming to the dependency injection pattern in object-oriented languages? Or in the inverse direction, can dependency injection be compared to using some kind of higher-order function?

  I need to run a few perl scripts from a Java GUI application. I am using Runtime API to do that. However, few of the perl scripts need to run under a specific user account to have special credentials to access specialized resources (e.g. Database, Files). I have heard of alleviating user access using UAC. But till now I am not able to find the solution. Please help me on how to run a process under a different user login. Is there anything similar to c# impersonization in Java?

  I've been able to get this working using XAMP with Apache 2.0.55 and XAMP Apache 2.2.14 without any problems. However, when I attempt to configure our intranet server (Apache 2.0.59), I don't get the same results. The results are that the following variables contain the information desired: $_SERVER["REMOTE_USER"] AND $_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_USER"]. In this case, they are blank. I'm expecting "domain/user_name". • Why does everyone dislike PHP? [closed]

  I'm primarily a Java/Python programmer, but I just picked up an entry-level job doing web development. I had to learn PHP, and several of my CS friends told me that it would stunt my coding ability/be terrible to program in/murder me in the middle of the night. So far, there have been annoying moments with the language (one particular thing that bugs me is the syntax for calling functions...), but nothing living up to the statements of my friends. I still haven't learned very much about the language. Is their hate justified? Why or why not? A few quotes I've seen about PHP: Haskell is faster than C++, more concise than Perl, more regular than Python, more flexible than Ruby, more typeful than C#, more robust than Java, and has absolutely nothing in common with PHP. • How to prevent script not to stop after apt-get?

  I keep some bash snippets and copy&paste them when I needed for management. But I discovered apt-get cancels script execution. Here's my script where problematic. apt-get -y install gcc g++ make cmake perl cd ~/ mkdir t1 cd t1 I copy & paste this script on OS X Terminal to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server (fresh install on VM) Script always stop after apt-get finished. Or why my script stops after apt-get finished, and how to make it to continue?

  Is there a debian/ubuntu policy on softlinking things to another location in opt once they're installed properly in usr/share or usr/lib? Here's a simple example: Packaging up dnsenum. It's a REALLY simple package (4 files). A perl script, two wordlists, and a readme. So from what I gather: The wordlists should go in usr/share/dnsenum/* The perl script itself would go in usr/lib/dnsenum/ The readme would go in usr/share/doc/dnsenum/ Add a wrapper bash script that goes in bin and just passes arguments to dnsenum.pl. The question is this: If there are various tools that provide wordlists or some other shared resource, is there a policy on linking all the wordlists from different packages in to /opt/wordlists/ ? It seems like the "right" thing to do respecting the directory structure while still making things convenient.

• Get a new instance with StructureMap

I’m going to use this for the DBContext and for WCF Service references. Since the ObjectFactory is a static class, MVC will have these stored in memory without this. I would like to know of an algorithm (sequence of steps :)) that could describe my approach towards learning programming in general. I have posted small questions on Perl/Python and I have recieved great help from everyone. Note:- I am not in a hurry to learn. I know it takes time and that's fine. Please give any suggestions you think are valid. Also, please don't push me to learn Lisp, Haskell etc - I am a beginner.

  I just moved from Windows to Ubuntu. Software Center in Ubuntu does have texlive2009 package. There is no straightforward installation process from TUG, or from Google search result. I found some installation of Texlive2010 but it does not work. Here are the step: download an texlive2011.iso, 2.3GB and save in local drive mount to a virtual drive install perl tk (ok) "sudo ./install-tl" does not work, "perl ./install-tl" shows pre-installation setting but it does not have the write access to /usr/local/textlive/2011/ Finally, I'm stuck Please guide me with a step by step tutorial or suggest any other solution beside typing in the black screen without knowing what is going on behind the Terminal.

• TileEntitySpecialRenderer only renders from certain angle

  I'm developing a Minecraft mod with Forge. I've added a tileentity and a custom renderer for it. The problem is: The block is only visible from sertain angles. I've compaed my code to other peoples code and it looks pretty much like them. The block is opaque and not to be rendered and the renderer is registered normally so the fault must be in the renderer. When I started eclipse, added the plugin to the panel using Window-Show View-Other... • More outlook VSTO help...

  I posted an article here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1095195/how-do-i-set-permissions-on-my-vsto-outlook-add-in) and I was able to build my installer. I thought that once the installer built itself, everything would work fine. I was wrong. It works on about half of the PC's I've run the installer on. My problem is that the other half doesn't work. I'm trying to install an add-in to Outlook Office 2003. I've even gone so far as to create the steps manually by using a batch file. Nothing seems to work on these PCs and I can't find a common denominator that I can rule out or in that will make the VSTO Addin work. Here is the batch file I am using. What am I doing/not-doing wrong with this? I could really use a VSTO expert's help. Thanks!!!! EDIT I've changed the batch file and registry settings to reflect recent updates to them. • How to deploy a visual studio custom tool?

  Hello. I have a my own custom tool for Visual Studio 2008 SP1. It consists of 5 assemblies: 3 assemblies with code that used heavily in my other projects, 1 assembly-wrapper above VS2008 SDK and assembly with the tool. If I'd debug my tool from visual studio, using "Run external program" option with command line "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" and arguments "/ranu /rootsuffix Exp" all work perfectly. After that I trying to deploy it to my working VS copy, not to experimental hive doing: gacutil /i Asm1.dll for all my assemblies and doing RegAsm Asm1.dll only for assembly with custom tool. Neither of utils prints any error, all work as planned, even registry keys appeared. But my tool don't work even after PC restart. What did I do wrong?   So for this assignment I have to create a car class(parent) and a certifiedpreowned (child) and I need to have the parent class have a method to check if it is still under warranty. *checkWarrantyStatus(). that method calls the boolean isCoveredUnderWarranty() to veryify if the car still has warranty. My issue is in the certifiedpreowned class I have to call the isCoveredUnderWarranty() as well to see if it is covered under the extended warranty and then have it be called via the checkWarrantyStatus() in the car method. I hope this makes sense. So to sum it up I need to in the child class have it check the isCoveredUnderWarranty with extended warranty info. Then it has to move to the parent class so it can be called via checkWarrantyStatus.   While attempting to do an installation repair of SQL-2008R2, I'm failing the pre-check rules. Module that is failing is AclPermissionsFacet - with this message "The SQL Server registry keys from a prior installation cannot be modified.   I am running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate and using Cisco AnyConnect VPN 2.5.3041. As expected, Fast User Switching got disabled as soon as I installed the VPN software. This FAQ from Cisco references how to enable Fast User Switching when their VPN product is installed: A. Microsoft automatically disables Fast User Switching in Windows XP when a GINA.dll is specified in the registry. The Cisco VPN Client installs the CSgina.dll to implement the "Start Before Login" feature. If you need Fast User Switching, then disable the "Start Before Login" feature. Registered users can get more information in Cisco Bug ID CSCdu24073 (registered customers only) in Bug Toolkit. My problem is that I have disabled this on the client, but fast user switching is still greyed out. This article mentions a registry edit, however they key they mention, GinaDLL, does not exist at the WinLogon registry point. Update: This article from Cisco covering AnyConnect specifically gives a one liner: AnyConnect is not compatible with fast user switching. The only problem is I now I had found a workaround before the last reformat/reinstall, but I can't remember what exactly I did previously.

• Windows Server 2008R2 - can't change or remove the default gateway

  We've installed VMWare Server 2.0 on Windows 2008R2. After some time playing with it (actually only removing host-only and nat networks, and binding adapters to the specified vmnets) we've noticed a strange problem: if you change or remove the default gateway on the network card, the server completely loses a network connection you can't ping it from the subnet, it also can't connect to anyone. When the gateway is removed and a server tries to connect to the other machines, I can see some incoming packets using a sniffer, but I believe they are damaged in some kind (I'm not a mega-guru in TCP/IP and can't find a mistake in a binary translation of the packet) because the other side doesn't respond. What we tried: removed vmware server using add/remove programs deleted everything related to the vmware server and all installed network adapters in the windows registry double checked for the vmware bridged protocol driver file, it's physically absent and no any links in the registry. performed a tcp/ip reset with netsh and disabled/enabled all network adapters in the device manager to recreate a registry keys for them. tried another network adapter. and the situation is the same: as soon you remove or change the default gateway, windows stops working. The total absurd of the situation is that the default gateway points to the non-existing IP. But when it's set, you can ping a server from the subnet, when you remove it - you can't. Any help? I'm starting thinking the new build of the VMWare Server is some kind of the malware... :)
