• How to I count key collisions when using boost::unordered_map?

  I have a data structure with 15 unsigned longs, I have defined a hash function using hash_combine as follows: friend std::size_t hash_value(const TUPLE15& given) { std::size_t seed = 0; boost::hash_combine(seed, val1); boost::hash_combine(seed, val2); ... return seed; } I insert a large number of values into a boost::unordered_map but the performance is not good enough. Probably, I could do better with an alternative hashing function. To confirm this, I need to check how many collisions I am getting. How do I do this?

  Hi everyone, I am working with jsp/servlet project and i have to complete the module of access management to my jsps since I have more than one user with different profile. I defined a table in my database wich resume the profil and the url permitted like that: id_profil :1 url : http://localhost/...xyz.jsp id page 1 Now I am trying to let the menu modified appropriately to the id_profil of the logged user. So there are pages allowed in one profile but must be hidden to others. I have no idea since now how to realize this and it is so important for me. thanks for your help.

I'm guessing it is because if num is not the right way to test if num is an empty string. Am I on the right track, or is there a better/easier way to extend swap-sign?

  I would like to set a default value in a has_many through association. Lets say I have three models: People Friends Dogs A person can request that a dog becomes their friend. So a person would create an association where friends has an active column = false. User has_many :friends has_many :dogs, :through => :friends Now when I assign a dog to a user User.find(1).dogs << dog The friends table has null in the active column. My friends model is defined as Friend def initialize(args = {}) super(args) active = false end yet this does not work because the friend object is never created. Do I have to manually create one?

  I have a class that look like this: public class BasePadWI { public WorkItem WorkItemReference { get; set; } .... Other stuff ...... } I then have a dictionary that is defined like this: public Dictionary<BasePadWI, Canvas> Pad { get; set; } I would then like to make a call like this: List<WorkItem> workItems = Pad.Keys.ToList(); (Note: WorkItem is a sealed class, so I cannot inherit.)   Hi, As my question title could be bit unclear to you (I tried best), following is what I'm exactly trying to do. I'm having a form element (say a user_info form), where such form elements will be generated for different users by java script and displayed in different js tabs (example: dojo tabs). once form elements are generated, later I need to react on user actions performed on different html elements defined inside user_info form. In this case I need to identify what is the context (in which user_info form element) in which user is working on. The simplest example would be how to retrieve form id of the form in which user actions are being performed. According to my understanding, I can not simply retrieve from by form id, because now DOM tree contains duplicate form instances of the same from element. So, IS there anyway, I could identify form context based on the user actions on its input elements. Thank You.

So, as it says to do in the documentation, I've added this code in my config/routes.rb file: resources :dimensions do collection do get "search" end end I've also defined in the dimensions_controller file: def search @dimensions = Dimension.all respond_to do |format| format.html # search.html.erb format.json { render json: @dimensions } end end I then stopped and restarted the rails server, but when I navigate to /dimensions/home, I'm still getting this error message: Couldn't find Dimension with id=search Also showing that my parameter is: {"id"=>"search"} So am I just missing another bit of code that gives the instruction to interpret /dimension/search as a collection action as opposed to the show action? • Reconstructing simple 3d enviroment(room) from photo

  I have photo of a room with three walls and floor/ceiling or both. I am trying to reconstruct this room in 3d asking user for minimal input. Right now I use 8 points defined by user, angles of left and right wall(they can be quite different from 90) and one size "InLeftBottom-InRightBottom"(I need to have real size of this room for later use). I have no info about user's camera(I can read EXIF to get FOV and use constant height but this can be only used as additional info). Is this possible to ask user for less info? Maybe it's possible to get wall angles without user interaction? Or maybe I am completly wrong and should use different approach?

• Can I have fixed typed ArrayList in C#, just like C++?

  I have an ArrayList which contains fixed type of objects. However everytime I need to extract an object a particular index, I need to typecast it to my user defined type from object type. Is there a way in C# to declare ArrayList of fixed types just like Java and C++, or is there a work around to avoid the typecasting everytime? Edit: I apologize I forgot mentioning that I require the datastructure to be thread-safe, which List is not. Otherwise I would have just used a normal Array. But I want to save myself from the effort of explicitly locking and unlocking while writing the array. So I thought of using ArrayList, synchronize it, but it requires typecasting every time.

• Approximate photo of a simple drawing using lines

  As an input I have a photo of a simple symbol, e.g.: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nrmsvfd0le0bkke/symbol.jpg I would like to detect the straight lines in it, like points of start and ends of the lines. In this case, assuming the top left of the symbol is (0,0), the lines would be defined like this: start end (coordinates of beginning and end of a line) 1. (0,0); (0,10) (vertical line) 2. (0,10); (15, 15) 3. (15,15); (0, 20) 4. (0,20); (0,30) How can I do it (pereferably using OpenCV)? I though about Hough lines, but they seem to be good for perfect thin straight lines, which is not the case in a drawing. I'll probably work on binarized image, too.

  Hi, I'm using NHibernate with my ASP.Net MVC application. I'm writing some extensions (plugins) for my application. And I'm loading those plugin dynamically (from different assemblies). In my base application I have many entities and mappings defined (User, Group, etc...) I need to create new entities in my extensions, so i.e. I'm creating News module, so I need to create News mapping. In database News table has a foreign key to User table. Is there any way I can modify my User mapping, so it will have: HasMany(x => x.Courses) .KeyColumn("GroupId") .Inverse(); Or the only way to do it is to change code in my User class and recompile project ? I'm not NHibernate advanced user, so any help will be appreciated. TIA.

  I have a struct named Game with an array of levels, defined like this: typedef struct { Level levels[x]; } Game; When I compile the code, if x is 1, 2 or 3, the program runs normally. If it's any other value (4, for instance), I get a segmentation fault. I'm not accessing the array anywhere. Main is something like this at the moment (commented everything except the initialization): int main (...) { Game g; return 0; } Any clue of what this might be? Thanks in advance.

Having the threshold 100. Iterating through the rows, when the sum of the previous rows amount = 100, set the following rows to checked. I wish to go through the database of Wikipedia (let's say the English one), and do statistics. For example, I am interested in how many active editors (which should be defined) Wikipedia had at each point of time (let's say in the last 2 years).   Hi, I wrote a long table with a label in a tex file and \input it into my main tex file. The reference in the main tex file to the table, however, does not show the numbering of the table but the one of the next table that are written directly in the main tex file. All long tables that are written directly in the main tex file have correct references. How to fix my problem? Must the label be defined in the same tex file as its reference? Thanks and regards! The label is \label{tab:yy}, and the reference is \ref{tab:yy}, and every table has a distinct label.

  I'm learning c++0x, at least the parts supported by the Visual C++ Express 2010 Beta. This is a question about style rather than how it works. Perhaps it's too early for style and good practice to have evolved yet for a standard that isn't even released yet... In c++0x you can define the return type of a method using - type at the end of the function instead of putting the type at the start. I believe this change in syntax is required due to lambdas and some use cases of the new decltype keyword, but you can use it anywhere as far as I know. // Old style int add1(int a, int b) { return a + b; } // New style return type auto add2(int a, int b) -> int { return a + b; } My question really then, is given that some functions will need to be defined in the new way is it considered good style to define all functions in this way for consistency? Or should I stick to only using it when necessary?

• why my array is losing it's contents when I refresh the page?

  I have created an: var checkboxFarm = new Array(); then I want to record a checkbox status in that array, as there are 11 checkboxes. Button.addEventListener("click", function() { rp_farmAtivada(index); }, false); when clicked change the variable in the array: function rp_farmAtivada(index) { checkboxFarm[index] = !checkboxFarm[index]; }; but every time I refresh the page it loses all the checkboxes status and I'm aware that all that array gets the "undefined" value. the checkboxFarm array is defined in the beginning of the script, so it should have a global scope. Am I missing something?

  Hi, I want to have a function that evaluates 2 bool vars (like a truth table) for example: since T | F : T then myfunc('t', 'f', ||); /*defined as: bool myfunc(char lv, char rv, ????)*/ should return true; how can I pass the third parameter? (I know is possible to pass it as a char* but then I will have to have another table to compare operator string and then do the operation which is something I would like to avoid) Is it possible to pass an operator like ^(XOR) or ||(OR) or &&(AND), etc in a function/method? • Rails Variable across all controller actions

  Hello, This should be a very simple rails question. I have a variable like the following. @administration = Administration.first I want this variable to be accessible through every controller action across all my controllers so for example if I have a Product controller and inside of it I have the usual CRUD actions, I want the @administration variable as defined above to be put into all the CRUD actions. (It would not be needed in destroy or create or update). I have many controllers throughout my project and I was wondering if there is an easier way than adding it manually through all of the actions that I want it in. I tried a global variable $administration = Administration.first but I run into an issue where it is not updated when I update the actual content of the Administration.first table. Also, I would like to avoid global variables. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)
