  • Javascript for removing menu and scroll bars

    - by nWight
    Hi - I have this script on my html page: parent.resizeTo(550,510); I'd like to add to it so it positions the window in the middle of the screen. Also, I want to remove the address and tool bars (I've managed to hide the scrollbars by using body{overflow:hidden;}). I know how to do this using JS upon opening a new window from the browser but this needs to work from clicking a link on a PDF. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

  • Javascript: Inherit method from base class and return the subclass's private variable

    - by marisbest2
    I have the following BaseClass defined: function BaseClass (arg1,arg2,arg3) { //constructor code here then - var privateVar = 7500; this.getPrivateVar = function() { return privateVar; }; } I want to have the following subclass which allows changing privateVar like so: function SubClass (arg1,arg2,arg3,privateVar) { //constructor code here then - var privateVar = privateVar; } SubClass.prototype = new BaseClass(); Now I want SubClass to inherit the getPrivateVar method. However, when I try this, it always returns 7500 which is the value in the BaseClass and not the value of privateVar. In other words, is it possible to inherit a BaseClass's public methods but have any references in them refer to the SubClass's properties? And how would I do that?

  • Generating dynamic data using Javascript

    - by methuselah
    Given that I have an array of alphabetical characters: var qwerty = [['q', 'w', 'e', 'r', 't', 'y', 'u', 'i', 'o', 'p'], ['a', 's', 'd', 'f', 'g', 'h', 'j', 'k', 'l'], ['z', 'x', 'c', 'v', 'b', 'n', 'm']]; How would I present them in three rows like on a conventional keyboard using JS without resorting to something like this: <input type='button' value='Q' id='bt1'/> <input type='button' value='W' id='bt2'/> <input type='button' value='E' id='bt3'/> <input type='button' value='R' id='bt4'/> <input type='button' value='T' id='bt5'/> <input type='button' value='Y' id='bt5'/> <input type='button' value='U' id='bt7'/> <input type='button' value='I' id='bt8'/> <input type='button' value='O' id='bt9'/> <input type='button' value='P' id='bt10'/> <br> <input type='button' value='A' id='bt11'/> <input type='button' value='S' id='bt12'/> <input type='button' value='D' id='bt13'/> <input type='button' value='F' id='bt14'/> <input type='button' value='G' id='bt15'/> <input type='button' value='H' id='bt16'/> <input type='button' value='J' id='bt17'/> <input type='button' value='K' id='bt18'/> <input type='button' value='L' id='bt19'/> <br /> ...   • How animate stacking divs in javascript/css?

    - by Teiviere
    Say I have 2 divs with the same CSS class that are stacked on top of each other: div { width:100px; height: 100px; background: red; } How do I make it so that when I click a button at the top of the page, a new div is created from off the screen at the bottom and moves upwards stopping where the 2nd div is.. When the button is clicked again, a 4th div moves in from the bottom of the screen and stops where the 3rd div is... etc creating a "stacked" divs effect? I know about position:fixed and adjusting values for top, but I am not sure how to dynamically calculate where to stop the animation to achieve this effect.

  • Javascript replace query string + with a space

    - by BruceClark
    I'm grabbing the query string parameters and trying to do this: var hello = unescape(helloQueryString); and it returns: this+is+the+string instead of: this is the string Works great if %20's were in there, but it's +'s. Any way to decode these properly so they + signs move to be spaces? Thanks.

However, because these views are rendered dynamically it does not work because js code is not injected (what can be seen in page source). How can I resolve this problem?

  • Tigther code - javascript object array

    - by Scott Silvi
    Inside the callback of a $.getJSON call, I have the code outlined below. The first for block aggregates 'total' & assigns values to sov[i]. The map function calculates the percentage of total. I then instantiate a variable called sovData. With the jQuery Flot graph, any objects that are empty aren't added to the pie chart, so this works for up to 7 different slices/datasets. What I'd like to do is only initialize the ones I need (e.g. sovData would have up to 'howMany - 1' (kws.length -1 ) objects inside of it, likely via something similar to dashboards[i] & sov[i]. How would I do this? Code: var sov = [], howMany = kws.length, total = 0, i = 0; for ( i; i < howMany; i++) { total += sov[ i ] = +parseInt(data.sov['sov' + ( i+1 ) ],10) || 0; } var dashboards = data.dashboards; sov = $.map( sov, function(v) { var s = Math.round( ( (v / total) * 10e3 ) / 100); return s < 1 ? 1 : s; }); var sovData = [{ label : dashboards[0], data : sov[0] }, { label : dashboards[1], data : sov[1] }, { label : dashboards[2], data : sov[2] }, { label : dashboards[3], data : sov[3] }, { label : dashboards[4], data : sov[4] }, { label : dashboards[5], data : sov[5] }, { label : dashboards[6], data : sov[6] } ]

  • Javascript to remove trailing &nbsp;

    - by ria
    I am getting a string which is nothing but innerHTML, and so it has instances of &nbsp;. I need to trim the string such that the trailing &nbsp; alone are removed. Tried this: var text; text = txtInnerHTML.replace(/(&nbsp;)*/g,""); This removes all instances of &nbsp; which is not desired.. Only the trailing &nbsp; need to be removed.
