• URL with no query parameters - How to distinguish.

  Env: .NET 1.1 I got into this situation. Where I need to give a URL that someone could redirect them to our page. When they redirect they also need to tell us, what message I need to display on the page. Initially I thought of something like this. http://example.com/a.aspx?reason=100 http://example.com/a.aspx?reason=101 ... http://example.com/a.aspx?reason=115 So when we get this url based on 'reason' we can display different message. But the problem turns out to be that they can not send any query parameters at all. They want 15 difference URL's since they can't send query params. It doesn't make any sense to me to created 15 pages just to display a message. Any smart ideas,that have one URL and pass the 'reason' thru some means? EDIT: Options I'm thinking based on Answers Try HttpRequest.PathInfo or Second option I was thinking was to have a httphanlder read read the path like this - HttpContext.Request.Path based on path act. Ofcourse I will have some 15 entries like this in web.config. <add verb="*" path="reason1.ashx" type="WebApplication1.Class1, WebApplication1" /> <add verb="*" path="reason2.ashx" type="WebApplication1.Class1, WebApplication1" /> Does that look clean?

  I have a long list of links that I spit out using the below code, total votes, submitted by, the usual stuff but I am not 100% on how to determine if the currently logged in user has voted on a link or not. I know how to do this from within my view but do I need to alter my below view code or can I make use of the way templates work to determine it? I have read http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1528583/django-vote-up-down-method but I don't quite understand what's going on ( and don't need any ofjavascriptery). • Cant get description rss tag data with javascript

  I'm currently making a widget to take and display items from a feed. So the 'default' branch in the 'development' clone is always release-ready. Now suppose I'm developer1 working on feature2. And let's say also that feature2 takes several months. It's pretty obvious that I'm going to want to keep my 'feature2' branch up to date with the 'default' branch. Does this make sense? How would I go about doing this with Mercurial?

I wasn't sure how to generate this with the click callback inline along with the rest of the Builder code, so I'm generating the link tag ahead of time and then inserting it with the rest of the Builder phase. The problem is that the callback for the link is never actually executed when I click the link, and the URL bar changes to http://localhost/foo/bar/# instead.   As the question states, is it better if a student diversifies or explores when learning programming languages or should they focus only on 2-3 languages and really get to know them well? Example of what I mean by diversifying: Functional -> Scheme Procedural -> C Object Oriented -> Java Dynamic or scripting -> Python Other -> C++ I have a few breaks in between semesters sometimes (up to 3 months) and I'm thinking of either learning a new language or "master" those that I know right now. • W7 routing - traffic not going to default gateway

  I have a really strange Windows 7 IPv4 routing issue that I can't get to the bottom of. The summary of the issue is that the default gateway is set to 192.168.254.253, but that it is actually using a default gateway of 192.168.254.254. I've not inspected the traffic yet. In particular, I was going to look for ICMP redirects, though why there would be an ICMP redirect at all is not really sensible? .254 used to be the default gateway before the fibre was installed. Any ideas? Doesn't make sense to me why there should be this routing issue :( The Draytek Dual WAN Router was rebooted, the PC was rebooted. The PC had the network disabled and then re-enabled. All the standard stuff when Windows looses the plot. Hopefully somebody recognises the symptoms! PS: Sorry for the long post, but I didn't want to leave something potentially relevant out. PPS: No iSCSI involved on/at this or any other workstation so Windows 7 routing traffic through the gateway for local addresses isn't the issue.

I would like to be able to enter a file name in the address bar and to see Google search results for that file name similar to what I would see if I searched for the file name using something like https://www.google.com/#q=/path/to/interesting/file I am able to disable the file scheme using either of the following policy settings: "DisabledSchemes": ["file"], Which has been deprecated in favor of: "URLBlacklist": ["file://"], But in either case Google Chrome / Chromium continues to auto-detect that a file name was entered, automatically prepends the file scheme to the file name, and then reports that the webpage is blocked.
