  • Cannot extend a class located in another file, PHP

    - by NightMICU
I am trying to set up a class with commonly used tasks, such as preparing strings for input into a database and creating a PDO object. I would like to include this file in other class files and extend those classes to use the common class' code. However, when I place the common class in its own file and include it in the class it will be used in, I receive an error that states the second class cannot be found. For example, if the class name is foo and it is extending bar (the common class, located elsewhere), the error says that foo cannot be found. But if I place the code for class bar in the same file as foo, it works. Here are the classes in question - Common Class abstract class coreFunctions { protected $contentDB; public function __construct() { $this->contentDB = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=db', 'username', 'password'); } public function cleanStr($string) { $cleansed = trim($string); $cleansed = stripslashes($cleansed); $cleansed = strip_tags($cleansed); return $cleansed; } } Code from individual class include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/includes/class.core-functions.php'; $mode = $_POST['mode']; if (isset($mode)) { $gallery = new gallery; switch ($mode) { case 'addAlbum': $gallery->addAlbum($_POST['hash'], $_POST['title'], $_POST['description']); } } class gallery extends coreFunctions { private function directoryPath($string) { $path = trim($string); $path = strtolower($path); $path = preg_replace('/[^ \pL \pN]/', '', $path); $path = preg_replace('[\s+]', '', $path); $path = substr($path, 0, 18); return $path; } public function addAlbum($hash, $title, $description) { $title = $this->cleanStr($title); $description = $this->cleanStr($description); $path = $this->directoryPath($title); if ($title && $description && $hash) { $addAlbum = $this->contentDB->prepare("INSERT INTO gallery_albums (albumHash, albumTitle, albumDescription, albumPath) VALUES (:hash, :title, :description, :path)"); $addAlbum->execute(array('hash' => $hash, 'title' => $title, 'description' => $description, 'path' => $path)); } } } The error when I try it this way is Fatal error: Class 'gallery' not found in /home/opheliad/public_html/admin/photo-gallery/includes/class.admin_photo-gallery.php on line 10

  • Name lookup for names not dependent on template parameter in VC++2008 Express. Is it a bug?

    - by Maciej H
While experimenting a bit with C++ templates I managed to produce this simple code, for which the output is different, than I expected according to my understanding of C++ rules. void bar(double d) { std::cout << "bar(double) function called" << std::endl; } template <typename T> void foo(T t) { bar(3); } void bar(int i) { std::cout << "bar(int) function called" << std::endl; } int main() { foo(3); return 0; } When I compile this code is VC++2008 Express function bar(int) gets called. That would be the behaviour I would expect if bar(3);in the template body was dependent on the template parameter. But it's not. The rule I found here says "The C++ standard prescribes that all names that are not dependent on template parameters are bound to their present definitions when parsing a template function or class". Am I wrong, that "present definition" of bar when parsing the template function foo is the definition of void bar(double d);? Why it's not the case if I am wrong. There are no forward declarations of bar in this compilation unit.

  • ASP.NET - Missing #includes cause compilation errors: Failed to map the path '...'

    - by frankadelic
I have an ASP.NET application which features some server-side includes. For example: <!--#include virtual="/scripts.inc" --> These files are not present in my ASP.NET website project because my website starts in a virtual directory: /path-to-my-application When I choose Build Web Site, I get this error: Failed to map the path '/scripts.inc' Visual Studio cannot resolve these include files that are defined at the root directory level. They are not visible in the website project. Aside from manually commenting out the #include references, is there any way I can get the website to build? Can I force Visual Studio to ignore those errors and compile the site? Once the website is pushed out to IIS, there is no problem, because all the #include files are in place. NOTE - Web Controls are not an option for this application. Please assume #include files are a requirement. Also, I cannot move the include files since they are used by other applications.

  • How do I setup a custom Gem.path using JRuby::Rack?

    - by Ben Hogan
Hi Nick et al, I've been having some fun looking at to source code of JRuby-Rack and Rubygems to try to figure out how to solve a org.jruby.rack.RackInitializationException: no such file to load -- compass in my rackup script cased by require 'compass'. I'm passing in a custom 'gem.path' as a servlet init parameter and it is being correctly picked up by jruby-rack as far as I can tell by debugging in my rackup script: ENV['GEM_PATH'] => '/foo/lib/.jruby/gems' (expected) but rubygems seems to be broken: Gem.path => file:/foo/lib/jruby-complete-1.4.0.jar!/META-INF/jruby.home/lib/ruby/gems/1.8 I'm not sure why rubygems has not adjusted it's gem_path nor the LOAD_PATH, thus breaking require? Thanks again, I'm still a newbie at ruby, jruby, rack and sinatra. Any pointers in the right direction appreciated! Ben

  • How to fill a path with gradient in drawRect:?

    - by Derrick
filling a path with a solid color is easy enough: CGPoint aPoint; for (id pointValue in points) { aPoint = [pointValue CGPointValue]; CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, aPoint.x, aPoint.y); } [[UIColor redColor] setFill]; [[UIColor blackColor] setStroke]; CGContextDrawPath(context, kCGPathFillStroke); I'd like to draw a gradient instead of solid red, but I am having trouble. I've tried the code listed in the Question/Answer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/422066/gradients-on-uiview-and-uilabels-on-iphone which is: CAGradientLayer *gradient = [CAGradientLayer layer]; [gradient setFrame:rect]; [gradient setColors:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:(id)[[UIColor blueColor] CGColor], (id)[[UIColor whiteColor] CGColor], nil]]; [[self layer] setMasksToBounds:YES]; [[self layer] insertSublayer:gradient atIndex:0]; However, this paints the entire view that this is in with the gradient, covering up my original path.

  • In OpenRasta, how do I configure a URI where I get "the remainder of the path" as a single string?

    - by Daniel Earwicker
Normally in OpenRasta there is some configuration like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/customers/region/{region}") ... // and so on ... where the {region} part of the path is automatically mapped to a string parameter in the handling method. So if the user hits: http://server/customers/region/emea Then the handler method is passed the string "emea". As well as doing this, I'd like to register a handler with something like this: ResourceSpace.Has.ResourcesOfType<Customers>() .AtUri("/someotherthing/*") ... // and so on In this imaginary syntax, the asterisk would mean "take the rest of the path, including slashes, to be a single string parameter to pass to the handling method". And so if the user hits: http://server/someotherthing/how/about/this?that=other Then my handler method receives a string parameter: how/about/this?that=other Is such a thing possible in OpenRasta? In Sinatra (Ruby) I'd use a regular expression to do exactly this.

  • Android: "Edit Source Lookup Path...".

    - by user307480
I am developing on a Mac with Eclipse and have the skeleton for an app that implements the standard framework callbacks (onCreate, onDestroy, onPause, etc..). When I set breakpoints in the callbacks the debugger stops and displays a tab that says "ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread $ActivityRecord,Intent)line:2477" and in the tab page body there is some red text that says "Source not found" and a button that says "Edit Source Lookup Path...". I have tried adding several paths via "Edit Source Lookup Path..." but can't see to find the one Eclipse is looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Specify Search Path for .net assembly binding/Fusion in app.config?

    - by Michael Stum
I have an application that depends on other .net assemblies. When I start the application, I get an error that an assembly or one of its dependencies cannot be loaded. I do not want to put the assemblies into the GAC or into the Directory of the application. Is there a way (app.config?) to tell .net to look into a given path when trying to load assemblies? I believe I can use assembly binding for a single assembly, but I'm looking for a wildcard solution to add a path to the "search paths"

  • What is the proper way to specify a path to 'app' in a Rails plugin?

    - by Brian Deterling
This question came about because the cells gem specifies template directories using File.join('app','cells'). That works fine until you run Rails as a daemon (scripts/server -d). The daemon switches directories to / which leaves the cells template paths pointing to the wrong absolute path. My solution was to set the default paths to File.join(RAILS_ROOT, 'app', 'cells'). This works in Rails, but the unit tests for the plugin fail because RAILS_ROOT isn't defined. Using File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__),'..' ... also works but requires about 6 levels of '..' which seems wrong. So my question is what is the proper way to specify the path to a directory under 'app' in a Rails plugin? Or is there something else wrong that would cause daemonizing Rails to fail to find the relative paths?

  • Source Lookup Path is correct but debugger can't find file (Eclipse EE IDE)?

    - by Greg McNulty
When debugging stepping over each line does work. Stepping into a function located in another file debugger displays: Source not found. Also displays option for Edit Source Lookup Path... but the correct package is listed there. (Also tried pointing with the directory path.) No other breakpoints set, as is a common solution. Any point in the right direction is helpful. Thank You. • Suds array of arrays not nesting

    - by joshcartme
    Let me preface this by saying that I am still pretty new to SOAP and how things should work. I'm working with the Vertical Response API. I'm having trouble getting suds to construct the xml correctly for a request. Here is some code: from suds.client import Client url = 'https://api.verticalresponse.com/wsdl/1.0/VRAPI.wsdl' client = Client(url) vr = client.service ... test_list = ( ( { 'name' : 'email_address', 'value' : login['username'], }, { 'name' : 'First_Name', 'value' : 'VR_User', } ), ( { 'name' : 'email_address', 'value' : '[email protected]', }, { 'name' : 'First_Name', 'value' : login['username'], }, ), ) # sid and cid are correctly retrieved prior to this point print "Sending test message..." vr.sendEmailCampaignTest({ 'session_id' : sid, 'campaign_id' : cid, 'recipients' : test_list, }) In this context login['username'] is just an email address. That code raises this error: suds.WebFault: Server raised fault: 'Application failed during request deserialization: Too many elements in array. 4 instead of claimed 2 (2) Here is the the definition of sendEmailCampaignTest: http://developers.verticalresponse.com/api/soap/methods/campaigns/sendemailcampaigntest/ Here is the xml that logging outputs (I removed the session_id and list_id for display here): DEBUG:suds.client:headers = {'SOAPAction': u'"VR/API/1_0#sendEmailCampaignTest"', 'Content-Type': 'text/xml; charset=utf-8'} ERROR:suds.client:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:ns3="http://api.verticalresponse.com/1.0/VRAPI.xsd" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:ns0="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:ns2="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns4="VR/API/1_0" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <SOAP-ENV:Header/> <ns0:Body> <ns4:sendEmailCampaignTest> <args xsi:type="ns3:sendEmailCampaignTestArgs"> <session_id xsi:type="ns1:string">redacted</session_id> <campaign_id xsi:type="ns1:int">redacted</campaign_id> <recipients xsi:type="ns3:ArrayOfNVDictionary" ns2:arrayType="ns3:NVDictionary[2]"> <item> <name xsi:type="ns1:string">email_address</name> <value xsi:type="ns1:string">[email protected]</value> </item> <item> <name xsi:type="ns1:string">First_Name</name> <value xsi:type="ns1:string">VR_User</value> </item> <item> <name xsi:type="ns1:string">email_address</name> <value xsi:type="ns1:string">[email protected]</value> </item> <item> <name xsi:type="ns1:string">First_Name</name> <value xsi:type="ns1:string">[email protected]</value> </item> </recipients> </args> </ns4:sendEmailCampaignTest> </ns0:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> DEBUG:suds.client:http failed: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"><SOAP-ENV:Body><SOAP-ENV:Fault><faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Client</faultcode><faultstring>Application failed during request deserialization: Too many elements in array. 4 instead of claimed 2 (2) </faultstring></SOAP-ENV:Fault></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope> a ruby script (provided by Vertical Response) that does the same things as the script I am working on in python outputs the following xml (I removed the session_id and list_id): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <env:Envelope xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <env:Body> <n1:sendEmailCampaignTest xmlns:n1="VR/API/1_0" env:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <args xmlns:n2="http://api.verticalresponse.com/1.0/VRAPI.xsd" xsi:type="n2:sendEmailCampaignTestArgs"> <session_id xsi:type="xsd:string">redacted</session_id> <campaign_id xsi:type="xsd:int">redacted</campaign_id> <recipients xmlns:n3="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xsi:type="n3:Array" n3:arrayType="n2:NVDictionary[2]"> <item xsi:type="n3:Array" n3:arrayType="n2:NVPair[2]"> <item> <name xsi:type="xsd:string">email_address</name> <value href="#id9496430"></value> </item> <item> <name xsi:type="xsd:string">First_Name</name> <value xsi:type="xsd:string">VR_User</value> </item> </item> <item xsi:type="n3:Array" n3:arrayType="n2:NVPair[2]"> <item> <name xsi:type="xsd:string">email_address</name> <value xsi:type="xsd:string">[email protected]</value> </item> <item> <name xsi:type="xsd:string">First_Name</name> <value href="#id9496430"></value> </item> </item> </recipients> </args> </n1:sendEmailCampaignTest> <value id="id9496430" xsi:type="xsd:string" env:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">[email protected]</value> </env:Body> </env:Envelope> I understand that the error is in the construction of recipients. • How do I exclude things that match the specified path for an HttpHandler in ASP.Net?

  • Why does this script work in the current directory but fail when placed in the path?

    - by kiloseven
I wish to replace my failing memory with a very small shell script. #!/bin/sh if ! [ –a $1.sav ]; then mv $1 $1.sav cp $1.sav $1 fi nano $1 is intended to save the original version of a script. If the original has been preserved before, it skips the move-and-copy-back (and I use move-and-copy-back to preserve the original timestamp). This works as intended if, after I make it executable with chmod I launch it from within the directory where I am editing, e.g. with ./safe.sh filename However, when I move it into /usr/bin and then I try to run it in a different directory (without the leading ./) it fails with: *-bash: /usr/bin/safe.sh: /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Text file busy* My question is, when I move this script into the path (verified by echo $PATH) why does it then fail? D'oh? Inquiring minds want to know how to make this work.

  • Is there a .NET BCL class to help with hand-rolled property path binding?

    - by Wayne
WPF and Silverlight have a data binding model whereby I can provide a Binding with a Path which comprises a dot-notation of property accessors down from a DataContext to a specific value inside a complex object graph (eg. MyDataContext.RootProperty.SubProperty.Thing.Value) I have a (non-UI) requirement to accept such a path expressed as a simple string, and to use reflection on an object which is (hopefully) of a type which exposes the right property getters and setters in order to read and/or write values to those properties. Before I go off and start writing the parser and reflection code, is there a handy Framework 3.5 BCL class to help with this?

  • vb.net how to start a folder monitor service at runtime and pass on the folder path to monitor?

This method should set things ' in motion so your service can do its work. lf = New StreamWriter(Application.StartupPath & "\fsw_lg.log") fsw = New FileSystemWatcher() fsw.Path = args(0) fsw.IncludeSubdirectories = True fsw.Filter = ".txt" fsw.EnableRaisingEvents = True AddHandler fsw.Created, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_created) AddHandler fsw.Changed, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_changed) AddHandler fsw.Deleted, New FileSystemEventHandler(AddressOf file_deleted) End Sub Public Sub file_created(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-created") End Sub Public Sub file_changed(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-changed") End Sub Public Sub file_deleted(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) lf.WriteLine(Now.ToShortDateString & "-" & Now.ToShortTimeString & "-" & e.FullPath & "-deleted") End Sub Protected Overrides Sub OnStop() lf.Close() End Sub End Class i have the ServiceName set to fswService (same as class name). When I added an installer I also set the ServiceName for the ServiceInstaller1 as fswService. I want to start this service at runtime based on the user setting the path of the folder to be watched. To achieve this I have the following: Dim fsw_controller As New ServiceProcess.ServiceController fsw_controller.Start(fswService) 2 problems: first, intellisense error saying: 'fswService' is a type and cannot be used as an expression. second, I can not figure out a way to pass on to the service the path of the folder to watch (which is stored at My.Settings.userPath). I really thought this is how you start a service. Am I missing something? Your help is, as always, appreciated. Thanks

  • Find a part of UNC path and put in a variable?

    - by Refracted Paladin
I am trying to peel off the last part of a unc path that is being passed and put it in a variable to use in a method further down the line. Example path would be -- \\ourfileserver\remoteuploads\countyfoldername\personfoldername How do I peel just the countyfoldername out of that? I had thought to try var th = e.FullPath.LastIndexOf('\\'); var whichFolder = folderPath.Substring(th); but that is an escape character and it doesn't like @ either. Is this even the right direction?

  • How can I add a .jar to my build path in Eclipse?

    - by Roman
I try to do it the following way: Right click on the name of the project. Click on Build Path in the drop dawn menu. Click on "Configure Build Path" And then I do not know what to do. Should I select "Source", "Projects", "Libraries", "Order and Export"? In "Libraries" I have "Add JARs..." and "Add External JARs...". What should I select? (I have already a .jar file in the lib folder of my project.) ADDED: If I click on "Add JARs" in the "Libraries" tab, I see the "lib" sub-folder but if I go there I do not see my .jar file there (and I know that it is there).

  • Asp.net loading a file encounters "Access to the path … is denied" in development on Windows 7

    - by ray247
Hi there, I have an Asp.net app that simply reads an xml file and this code used to work fine on Vista with VS2008, now I just moved to Windows 7 and I migrated the code to VS2010, I encoutered “Access to the path [path to my webapp folder] is denied". Nothing else is changed, I tried to change folder perms even though I didn't think it got anything to do with that since the same code used to work fine, but still didn't get around this problem. Could someone please shed some light on why this may be happening and how to fix it? Thanks, Ray.

  • How can keep track of the index path of a button in a tableview cell?

    - by Jake
I have a table view where each cell has a button accessory view. The table is managed by a fatchedresults controller and is frequently reordered. I want to be able to press a button and be able to obtain the index path of the pressed button's tableviewcell. I've been trying to get this working for days by storing the row of the button in it's tag, but when the table get's reordered the row becomes incorrect and I keep failing at reordering the tags correctly when a change is made. Any new ideas on how to keep track of the button's cell's index path? Thanks so much for any help.

  • What's the most effective path to top level development?

    - by Glycerine
I got a questions asked from one of my delegates the other day, "how did you get to where you are in programming?" I'm now at a java application realm - and I'm just about OK at it. the path that brought me there: BASIC VB6 PHP javascript actionscript java/objective-C I still live in the web development but I now prefer java - I see this as a good flow but I was wondering how you guys got to where you are and the best path to take? Edit: reword I guess I've asked the question wrong - I was wondering how to progress to a top level application from starting off in development. Where good paradyms connect languages. I won't have considered C++ as my first language see.
