  • Google Drive Update keeps throwing an error when I try to save a thumbnail

    - by Dano64
    The Base64 string checks out fine. I was able to export it to another website and download it again as my image. When I try to do an update using the Drive Javascript api, it just keeps returning this error: Invalidvaluefor:Notavalidbase64bytestring I also true making the string URL safe. Per this page https://google-api-client-libraries.appspot.com/documentation/drive/v2/python/latest/drive_v2.files.html Am I doing something wrong here, the documentation says send Base64, the string is valid and, the string is intact throughout the process, but Google will not accept it? I am using the javascript api, I think there is maybe a bug sending the thumbnail using the javascript api. • developing maven plugin, how to exclude bitkeeper files

    - by Denali
    Hi There, I am trying to write my first maven plugin. I'd like to exclude all the java files related to the source repository I'm using, which is BitKeeper. These files live in directories called SCCS. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. When I add the maven-compile-plugin with excludes data, it works (the bk files are excluded) if I specify mvn compiler:compile. But this is not binding to the compile phase. So that when I run mvn compile, it blows up trying to compile a source control specific java file. Any help or pointers appreciated. Another thing to note: Everything works perfectly if I change the packaging from "maven-plugin" to "jar", which of course, I can't do permanently since this is a maven plugin I am trying to write. I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere. I've looked around for several hours here and through the maven docs, but everything on this topic seems to be related to writing code which will be packaged in jars, not maven plugins. Here's my pom.xml: <project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <groupId>com.mycomp.mygroup</groupId> <artifactId>special-persistence-plugin</artifactId> <packaging>maven-plugin</packaging> <version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version> <name>Special Persistence Plugin</name> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId> <artifactId>maven-plugin-api</artifactId> <version>2.0</version> </dependency> </dependencies> <build> <plugins> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <source>1.6</source> <target>1.6</target> <encoding>UTF-8</encoding> <excludes> <exclude>**/SCCS/**/*.java</exclude> </excludes> <phase>compile</phase> <goals> <goal>compiler:compile</goal> </goals> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> </build> </project> Thank you to anyone with ideas about this, -Denali

  • How to prevent mod_proxy from rewriting redirects into absolute URLs?

    - by Yang
    I have: nginx (port 80) reverse-proxying to apache2 (port 88) reverse-proxying to a web app (port 5001). However, when the web app responds with a redirect like Location: /foo, apache2 rewrites this into Location: http://host.com:88/sub/foo, even though port 88 is publicly inaccessible. I'd like it to just redirect to the relative URL Location: /sub/foo. Any ideas? My apache config (using mod_proxy_http, mod_proxy_html, mod_substitute): <Location /notes/> Allow from all ProxyPass http://127.0.0.1:5001/ SetOutputFilter proxy-html ProxyPassReverse / ProxyHTMLURLMap / /notes/ RequestHeader unset Accept-Encoding AddOutputFilterByType SUBSTITUTE application/atom+xml Substitute "s|127.0.0.1:5001|host.com/notes|" </Location>

  • C# Windows Service XML

    - by Goober
    Scenario I have a windows service written in C# that performs some processing based on parsing an XML file and use that data to carry out various tasks. The service also does various bits of logging - which uses settings from an APP.Config file. The Problem When the service is compiled, installed and run, the XML file seems to disappear. I'm getting the impression that it is just ignored or something like that. So far I've tried using TWO App.Config files, one named App.Config that contains settings for the service, and the other called MyService.exe.config that contains all of the data that was used in the XML file (the idea being that I can parse the XML from a config file that actually gets compiled and appears in my installation directory. However When I do this, all that happens is that ONE config file appears (with the name MyService.exe.config), but it contains the contents of the App.Config file and not the XML data that I want to parse. What I need All I want is to have a config file for my settings, and an XML file for my data. Question Is this possible? I know the application works as it was originally built as a console application that ran fine. Other The application has to be designed this way (as in, I need my data stored as XML, and my settings stored in a config file). Thoughts If I could somehow combine the contents of the two files into ONE config file, that would be one way of solving the problem. However, I have tried this and of course I get a "Type Initialisation Exception", as the config file cannot interprate the XML data (probably because the tags are custom and do not form any part of the config schema - or something like that). Ideas Please could someone explain to me if it is possible for me to have an XML file AND a config file that will actually be compiled and stored in my installation directory for the service when it is run? CODE Custom XML/Data Config File <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <servers> <SV066930> <add name="Name" value = "SV066930" /> <processes> <SimonTest1> <add name="ProcessName" value="notepad.exe" /> <add name="CommandLine" value="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\notepad.exe C:\\WINDOWS\\Profiles\\TA2TOF1\\Desktop\\SimonTest1.txt" /> </SimonTest1> </processes> </SV066930> </servers> </configuration> APP.Config Settings File <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name="dataConfiguration" type="Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.Configuration.DatabaseSettings, Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=xxxxxxxxxxx" /> </configSections> <connectionStrings> <add name="DB" connectionString="Data Source=etc......" /> </connectionStrings> </configuration> Help greatly appreciated.

  • Internet Explorer ajax request not returning anything

    - by Ryan Giglio
    At the end of my registration process you get to a payment screen where you can enter a coupon code, and there is an AJAX call which fetches the coupon from the database and returns it to the page so it can be applied to your total before it is submitted to paypal. It works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, but in Internet Explorer, nothing happens. The (data) being returned to the jQuery function appears to be null. jQuery Post function applyPromo() { var enteredCode = $("#promoCode").val(); $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "block"); $(".promoDiscount").html("<img src='/images/loading.gif' alt='Loading...' title='Loading...' height='18' width='18' />"); $.post("/ajax/lookup-promo.php", { promoCode : enteredCode }, function(data){ if ( data != "error" ) { var promoType = data.getElementsByTagName('promoType').item(0).childNodes.item(0).data; var promoAmount = data.getElementsByTagName('promoAmount').item(0).childNodes.item(0).data; $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "block"); $(".totalWithPromoContainer").css("display", "block"); if (promoType == "percent") { $("#promoDiscount").html("-" + promoAmount + "%"); var newPrice = (originalPrice - (originalPrice * (promoAmount / 100))); $("#totalWithPromo").html(" $" + newPrice); if ( promoAmount == 100 ) { skipPayment(); } } else { $("#promoDiscount").html("-$" + promoAmount); var newPrice = originalPrice - promoAmount; $("#totalWithPromo").html(" $" + newPrice); } $("#paypalPrice").val(newPrice + ".00"); $("#promoConfirm").css("display", "none"); $("#promoConfirm").html("Promotion Found"); finalPrice = newPrice; } else { $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "none"); $(".totalWithPromoContainer").css("display", "none"); $("#promoDiscount").html(""); $("#totalWithPromo").html(""); $("#paypalPrice").val(originalPrice + ".00"); $("#promoConfirm").css("display", "block"); $("#promoConfirm").html("Promotion Not Found"); finalPrice = originalPrice; } }, "xml"); } Corresponding PHP Page include '../includes/dbConn.php'; $enteredCode = $_POST['promoCode']; $result = mysql_query( "SELECT * FROM promotion WHERE promo_code = '" . $enteredCode . • Distributed computing for a company? Is there such a 'free' thing?

    - by Jakub
    I am new to the whole distributed computing / cloud thing. But I had an idea at work for our multimedia stuff like movie encoding / cpu intensive things tasks (which sometimes take a few hours). Is there a 'free' (linux?) way to go about using a Windows machine, and offsetting those cpu cycles for that task to say 10 servers that are generally idle (cpu wise)? I'm just curious if there is a way to do this or am I just grasping at straws here. My thought is that a 'cloud' setup would achieve this, however like I stated initially, I am a total newbie when it comes to it. This is just an idea, looking for some thoughts? Anyone achieve this?

  • Reporting Services 2008 R2 export to PDF embedded fonts not shown

    - by Gabriel Guimarães
    Hi, I have installed a font on the server that hosts Reporting Services 2008 R2, after that I've restarted the SSRS service, and sucessfully deployed a report with a custom font. I can see it using the font on the web, when I export it to Excel, however on PDF the font is not visible. If I click on File - Properties - Fonts. I'm presented with a screen that shows me a list of fonts on the PDF. There's an a icon with Helvetica-BoldOblique Type: Type 1 Encoding: Ansi Actual Font: Arial-BoldItalicMT Actual Font Type: TrueType The second one is a double T icon with the font I'm using and a (Embedded Subset) sufix. Its a True Type font and ANSI encoded. However the text is not using this embeded font, If I select the text and copy to a word document (I have the font installed) I can see the text in the font, however not on PDF, what's wrong here?

  • Compress file to bytes for uploading to SQL Server

    I am trying to zip files to an SQL Server database table. I can't ensure that the user of the tool has write priveledges on the source file folder so I want to load the file into memory, compress it to an array of bytes and insert it into my database. This below does not work. class ZipFileToSql { public event MessageHandler Message; protected virtual void OnMessage(string msg) { if (Message != null) { MessageHandlerEventArgs args = new MessageHandlerEventArgs(); args.Message = msg; Message(this, args); } } private int sourceFileId; private SqlConnection Conn; private string PathToFile; private bool isExecuting; public bool IsExecuting { get { return isExecuting; } } public int SourceFileId { get { return sourceFileId; } } public ZipFileToSql(string pathToFile, SqlConnection conn) { isExecuting = false; PathToFile = pathToFile; Conn = conn; } public void Execute() { isExecuting = true; byte[] data; byte[] cmpData; //create temp zip file OnMessage("Reading file to memory"); FileStream fs = File.OpenRead(PathToFile); data = new byte[fs.Length]; ReadWholeArray(fs, data); OnMessage("Zipping file to memory"); MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); GZipStream zip = new GZipStream(ms, CompressionMode.Compress, true); zip.Write(data, 0, data.Length); cmpData = new byte[ms.Length]; ReadWholeArray(ms, cmpData); OnMessage("Saving file to database"); using (SqlCommand cmd = Conn.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandText = @"MergeFileUploads"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; //cmd.Parameters.Add("@File", SqlDbType.VarBinary).Value = data; cmd.Parameters.Add("@File", SqlDbType.VarBinary).Value = cmpData; SqlParameter p = new SqlParameter(); p.ParameterName = "@SourceFileId"; p.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; p.SqlDbType = SqlDbType.Int; cmd.Parameters.Add(p); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); sourceFileId = (int)p.Value; } OnMessage("File Saved"); isExecuting = false; } private void ReadWholeArray(Stream stream, byte[] data) { int offset = 0; int remaining = data.Length; float Step = data.Length / 100; float NextStep = data.Length - Step; while (remaining > 0) { int read = stream.Read(data, offset, remaining); if (read <= 0) throw new EndOfStreamException (String.Format("End of stream reached with {0} bytes left to read", remaining)); remaining -= read; offset += read; if (remaining < NextStep) { NextStep -= Step; } } } }

So the idea here is that I have two lists and to navigate from one to the other I would use a horizontal swipe. I have that working. However, what ever list item your finger is on when the swipe begins executing, that item will also be long-clicked. Here is the relevant code I have: public class MyActivity extends Activity implements OnItemClickListener, OnClickListener { private static final int SWIPE_MIN_DISTANCE = 120; private static final int SWIPE_MAX_OFF_PATH = 250; private static final int SWIPE_THRESHOLD_VELOCITY = 200; private GestureDetector mGestureDetector; View.OnTouchListener mGestureListener; class MyGestureDetector extends SimpleOnGestureListener { @Override public boolean onFling(MotionEvent e1, MotionEvent e2, float velocityX, float velocityY) { try { if (Math.abs(e1.getY() - e2.getY()) > SWIPE_MAX_OFF_PATH) return false; // right to left swipe if(e1.getX() - e2.getX() > SWIPE_MIN_DISTANCE && Math.abs(velocityX) > SWIPE_THRESHOLD_VELOCITY) { if (mCurrentScreen != SCREEN_SECONDLIST) { mCurrentScreen = SCREEN_SECONDLIST; mFlipper.setInAnimation(inFromRightAnimation()); mFlipper.setOutAnimation(outToLeftAnimation()); mFlipper.showNext(); updateNavigationBar(); } } else if (e2.getX() - e1.getX() > SWIPE_MIN_DISTANCE && Math.abs(velocityX) > SWIPE_THRESHOLD_VELOCITY) { if (mCurrentScreen != SCREEN_FIRSTLIST) { mCurrentScreen = SCREEN_FIRSTLIST; mFlipper.setInAnimation(inFromLeftAnimation()); mFlipper.setOutAnimation(outToRightAnimation()); mFlipper.showPrevious(); updateNavigationBar(); } } } catch (Exception e) { // nothing } return true; } } @Override public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { if (mGestureDetector.onTouchEvent(event)) return true; else return false; } ViewFlipper mFlipper; private int mCurrentScreen = SCREEN_FIRSTLIST; private ListView mList1; private ListView mList2; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); setContentView(R.layout.layout_flipper); mFlipper = (ViewFlipper) findViewById(R.id.flipper); mGestureDetector = new GestureDetector(new MyGestureDetector()); mGestureListener = new View.OnTouchListener() { public boolean onTouch(View v, MotionEvent event) { if (mGestureDetector.onTouchEvent(event)) { return true; } return false; } }; // set up List1 screen mList1List = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.list1); mList1List.setOnItemClickListener(this); mList1List.setOnTouchListener(mGestureListener); // set up List2 screen mList2List = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.list2); mList2List.setOnItemClickListener(this); mList2List.setOnTouchListener(mGestureListener); } … } If I change the "return true;" statement from the GestureDetector to "return false;", I do not get long-clicks. Unfortunately, I get regular clicks. Does anyone know how I can get around this?

  • set all nested li's to be width of widest li

    - by unhitched
    hey, How do I make nested li's the same width? When I use the below code each nested li is only as wide as it's text + margin. I'd like all of the li's to be as wide as the widest li under the parent ul. eg: <ul id="menu"> <li <a href="#" title="Menu a">Menu a</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Menu b">Menu b</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Nested Menu">Nested Menu</a> <ul> <li <a href="#" title="Menu Item">Menu Item</li> <li <a href="#" title="Long Menu Item">Long Menu Item</a></li> <li <a href="#" title="Longer Menu Item">Longer Menu Item</a></li> </ul> </li> <li <a href="#" title="Menu z">Menu z</a></li> </ul> with css: <style type="text/css" media="all"> * { padding:0; margin:0; } body, html { width: 100%; height: 100%; } #wrapper { width: 800px; height: 100%; margin: auto; } #menu { margin: 0 0 0 8px; padding: 0; font-size: 14px; font-weight: normal; } #menu ul { list-style-type:none; list-style-position:outside; position:relative; z-index:300; height: 32px; font-weight:bold; white-space: nowrap; padding:0; } #menu a {text-decoration:none; line-height: 32px; } #menu a:hover { } #menu li { float:left; position:relative; display: inline; height: 100%; list-style-type: none; padding: 0 20px; background: #ccc; } #menu ul { position:absolute; display:none; left:0px; background: #BDCCD4; width:100%; } #menu ul a, #menu li a { display: block; } #menu li ul { background: #BDCCD4; display:block; } #menu li ul a { font-weight: normal; height:auto; float:left; } #menu ul ul { padding: 0 9px; display:block; } #menu li ul li { padding: 0 9px; background: #BDCCD4; } #menu li:hover { background: #ddd; height: 32px; } #menu li li:hover, #menu li li li:hover { background: #ddd; height: 32px; } #menu li a:link, #menu li a:visited { text-decoration: none; color: #003E7E; margin: auto; }

  • Receiving POST data in ASP.NET

    - by grast
    Hi, I want to use ASP for code generation in a C# desktop application. To achieve this, I set up a simple host (derived from System.MarshalByRefObject) that processes a System.Web.Hosting.SimpleWorkerRequest via HttpRuntime.ProcessRequest. This processes the ASPX script specified by the incoming request (using System.Net.HttpListener to wait for requests). The client-part is represented by a System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker that builds the System.Net.HttpWebRequest and receives the response from the server. A simplified version of my client-part-code looks like this: private void SendRequest(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { // create request with GET parameter var uri = "http://localhost:9876/test.aspx?getTest=321"; var request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(uri); // append POST parameter request.Method = "POST"; request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; var postData = Encoding.Default.GetBytes("postTest=654"); var postDataStream = request.GetRequestStream(); postDataStream.Write(postData, 0, postData.Length); // send request, wait for response and store/print content using (var response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse()) { using (var reader = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream(), Encoding.UTF8)) { _processsedContent = reader.ReadToEnd(); Debug.Print(_processsedContent); } } } My server-part-code looks like this (without exception-handling etc.): public void ProcessRequests() { // HttpListener at http://localhost:9876/ var listener = SetupListener(); // SimpleHost created by ApplicationHost.CreateApplicationHost var host = SetupHost(); while (_running) { var context = listener.GetContext(); using (var writer = new StreamWriter(context.Response.OutputStream)) { // process ASP script and send response back to client host.ProcessRequest(GetPage(context), GetQuery(context), writer); } context.Response.Close(); } } So far all this works fine as long as I just use GET parameters. But when it comes to receiving POST data in my ASPX script I run into trouble. For testing I use the following script: // GET parameters are working: var getTest = Request.QueryString["getTest"]; Response.Write("getTest: " + getTest); // prints "getTest: 321" // don't know how to access POST parameters: var postTest1 = Request.Form["postTest"]; // Request.Form is empty?! Response.Write("postTest1: " + postTest1); // so this prints "postTest1: " var postTest2 = Request.Params["postTest"]; // Request.Params is empty?! Response.Write("postTest2: " + postTest2); // so this prints "postTest2: " It seems that the System.Web.HttpRequest object I'm dealing with in ASP does not contain any information about my POST parameter "postTest". I inspected it in debug mode and none of the members did contain neither the parameter-name "postTest" nor the parameter-value "654". I also tried the BinaryRead method of Request, but unfortunately it is empty. This corresponds to Request.InputStream==null and Request.ContentLength==0. And to make things really confusing the Request.HttpMethod member is set to "GET"?! To isolate the problem I tested the code by using a PHP script instead of the ASPX script. This is very simple: print_r($_GET); // prints all GET variables print_r($_POST); // prints all POST variables And the result is: Array ( [getTest] = 321 ) Array ( [postTest] = 654 ) So with the PHP script it works, I can access the POST data. Why does the ASPX script don't? What am I doing wrong? Is there a special accessor or method in the Response object? Can anyone give a hint or even know how to solve this? Thanks in advance.

  • Use QuickCheck by generating primes

    - by Dan
    Background For fun, I'm trying to write a property for quick-check that can test the basic idea behind cryptography with RSA. Choose two distinct primes, p and q. Let N = p*q e is some number relatively prime to (p-1)(q-1) (in practice, e is usually 3 for fast encoding) d is the modular inverse of e modulo (p-1)(q-1) For all x such that 1 < x < N, it is always true that (x^e)^d = x modulo N In other words, x is the "message", raising it to the eth power mod N is the act of "encoding" the message, and raising the encoded message to the dth power mod N is the act of "decoding" it. (The property is also trivially true for x = 1, a case which is its own encryption) Code Here are the methods I have coded up so far: import Test.QuickCheck -- modular exponentiation modExp :: Integral a => a -> a -> a -> a modExp y z n = modExp' (y `mod` n) z `mod` n where modExp' y z | z == 0 = 1 | even z = modExp (y*y) (z `div` 2) n | odd z = (modExp (y*y) (z `div` 2) n) * y -- relatively prime rPrime :: Integral a => a -> a -> Bool rPrime a b = gcd a b == 1 -- multiplicative inverse (modular) mInverse :: Integral a => a -> a -> a mInverse 1 _ = 1 mInverse x y = (n * y + 1) `div` x where n = x - mInverse (y `mod` x) x -- just a quick way to test for primality n `divides` x = x `mod` n == 0 primes = 2:filter isPrime [3..] isPrime x = null . filter (`divides` x) $ takeWhile (\y -> y*y <= x) primes -- the property prop_rsa (p,q,x) = isPrime p && isPrime q && p /= q && x > 1 && x < n && rPrime e t ==> x == (x `powModN` e) `powModN` d where e = 3 n = p*q t = (p-1)*(q-1) d = mInverse e t a `powModN` b = modExp a b n (Thanks, google and random blog, for the implementation of modular multiplicative inverse) Question The problem should be obvious: there are way too many conditions on the property to make it at all usable. Trying to invoke quickCheck prop_rsa in ghci made my terminal hang. So I've poked around the QuickCheck manual a bit, and it says: Properties may take the form forAll <generator> $ \<pattern> -> <property> How do I make a <generator> for prime numbers? Or with the other constraints, so that quickCheck doesn't have to sift through a bunch of failed conditions? Any other general advice (especially regarding QuickCheck) is welcome.

  • How to set width of parent div in css

    - by Marcin Wiankowski
    I am using vaadin in combination with navigator7 addon. In header and footer there are spacings between conponents That i would not have. I tried to remove the spacings using setSpacing(false) for header and footer component but it is not working probably becouse of the addon. So i tried to solve this using css. The sample below i a test output html that vaadin generates: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> div div .footer-label, .footer-label{ color: green; width: 100px !important; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="my-footer"> <div> <div style="color: red; height: 20px; width: 482px; overflow: hidden; float: left; padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; background-color:yellow;"> <div style="float: left; margin-left: 0px;"> <button class="footer-label" style="width: 400px;">Text</button> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> There is a button inside div div. I would like to make the width of root div to have exact same width as the button. I ended with this css code but it does not work. The root div stays in its 482 pixels width. div div .footer-label, .footer-label{ color: green; width: 100px !important; } Is it possible to do something like that in css and how to do it? Or how to solve this using problem using Vaadin? Vaadin Code public class MyAppLevelWindow extends HeaderFooterFixedAppLevelWindow { @Override protected Component createHeader() { ... } @Override protected Component createFooter() { HorizontalLayout myFooter = new HorizontalLayout(); akmedFooter.setSpacing(false); akmedFooter.setStyleName("my-footer"); NativeButton sendProblemButton = new NativeButton("Button"); sendProblemButton.setStyleName("footer-label"); akmedFooter.addComponent(sendProblemButton); ..... return akmedFooter; } ............. } Answer .my-footer div div{ width: auto !important; }

  • WCF DataContractSerializer Behavior

    - by sbanwart
    I'm seeing some unusual behavior when using the DataContractSerializer. I have defined a message contract like so: namespace MyNamespace.DataContracts { [MessageContract(WrapperName = "order", WrapperNamespace = @"http://example.com/v1/order")] public class MyOrder { [MessageBodyMember(Namespace = @"http://http://example.com/v1/order", Order = 1)] public MyStore store; [MessageBodyMember(Namespace = @"http://http://example.com/v1/order", Order = 2)] public MyOrderHeader orderHeader; [MessageBodyMember(Namespace = @"http://example.com/v1/order", Order = 3)] public List<MyPayment> payments; [MessageBodyMember(Namespace = @"http://example.com/v1/order", Order = 4)] public List<MyShipment> shipments; } . . I'm sending it an XML message that looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <order xmlns="http://example.com/v1/order> <store> ... </store> <orderHeader> ... </orderHeader> <payments> <payment> ... </payment> </payments> <shipments> <shipment> ... </shipment> </shipments> </order> My service deserializes this XML as expected. Inside my service, I'm using the DataContractSerializer to create an XML string and that's where things get weird. I'm using the serializer like this: DataContractSerializer serializer = new DataContractSerializer(typeof(MyOrder)); using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream()) { serializer.WriteObject(ms, order); ms.Position = 0; StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(ms); string outputMessage = sr.ReadToEnd(); } Once this finishes, the outputMessage contains the following XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <MyOrder xmlns="http://example.com/v1/order" xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <order> <store> ... </store> <orderHeader> ... </orderHeader> <payments> <payment> ... </payment> </payments> <shipments> <shipment> ... </shipment> </shipments> </order> </MyOrder> Needless to say, anything expecting to receive the original XML message will fail to parse this. So I guess I have two questions: Why is the DataContractSerializer adding the extra outer node to my XML output? Is there a way to stop it from doing this? Thanks.

  • Installing maven on Ubuntu by manual download

    - by WebDevHobo
    To install Maven, I downloaded the latest version from the website and then followed these steps: http://maven.apache.org/download.html#Installation The last step, the version control, does not work. It says that 'mvn' is currently not installed and that I should type sudo apt-get install maven2 If I go directly to the mvn file itself, it does work: root@ubuntu:~# /usr/local/apache-maven/apache-maven-2.2.1/bin/mvn --version Apache Maven 2.2.1 (r801777; 2009-08-06 12:16:01-0700) Java version: 1.6.0_21 Java home: /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_21/jre Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: UTF-8 OS name: "linux" version: "2.6.32-25-generic" arch: "i386" Family: "unix" So, what am I doing wrong here? Or what would and apt-get install do extra that I might have forgotten?

  • SharePoint Feature suggestion

    - by barathan
    I have written a feature(Site scoped) that adds custom menu items to the New Menu and EditControlBlock of document library. These menu items should show up only when the user has add and edit permissions for that document library. If he selected the menu, url is redirected to my webpart. Webpart is deployed in site collection. To do this i have two way. I mentioned in as case 1 & case 2. But in the both cases i failed to fulfill my requirement Below are the sample entries in Feature and Element manifest file I am passing the current location to sourceurl in order to get the folder url <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Feature Id="59bba8e7-0cfc-46e3-9285-4597f8085e76" Title="My Custom Menus" Scope="Site" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <ElementManifests> <ElementManifest Location="Elements.xml" /> </ElementManifests></Feature> Case 1: <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <CustomAction Id="EditMenu1" RegistrationType="FileType" RegistrationId="txt" Location="EditControlBlock" Sequence="106" ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/PPT16.GIF" Title="My Edit Menu" Rights="AddListItems,EditListItems"> <UrlAction Url="javascript:var surl='{SiteUrl}'; window.location='/test/mypage.aspx?siteurl='+surl+'&amp;itemurl={ItemUrl}&amp;itemid={ItemId}&amp;listid={ListId}&amp;Source='+window.location" /> </CustomAction> <CustomAction Id="NewMenu1" GroupId="NewMenu" RegistrationType="List" RegistrationId="101" Location="Microsoft.SharePoint.StandardMenu" Sequence="1002" ImageUrl ="/_layouts/images/DOC32.GIF" Title="My New Menu" Rights="AddListItems,EditListItems"> <UrlAction Url="javascript:var surl='{SiteUrl}'; window.location='/test/mypage.aspx?siteurl='+surl+'&amp;listid={ListId}&amp;Source='+window.location" /> </CustomAction> </Elements> If i use the above code, it was not redirected to site collection instead of it is redirecting to rootsite. Is there is any way to get the site collection variable. To overcome this issue i used the following code: Case 2: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <CustomAction Id="EditMenu1" RegistrationType="FileType" RegistrationId="txt" Location="EditControlBlock" Sequence="106" ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/PPT16.GIF" Title="My Edit Menu" Rights="AddListItems,EditListItems"> <UrlAction Url="~sitecollection/test/mypage.aspx?siteurl={SiteUrl}&amp;itemurl={ItemUrl}&amp;itemid={ItemId}&amp;listid={ListId}&amp;Source=/" /> </CustomAction> <CustomAction Id="NewMenu1" GroupId="NewMenu" RegistrationType="List" RegistrationId="101" Location="Microsoft.SharePoint.StandardMenu" Sequence="1002" ImageUrl ="/_layouts/images/DOC32.GIF" Title="My New Menu" Rights="AddListItems,EditListItems"> <UrlAction Url="~sitecollection/test/mypage.aspx?siteurl={SiteUrl}&amp;listid={ListId}&amp;Source=/" /> </CustomAction> </Elements> But in this case, it is correctly redirected to the site collection. But it fails to get the folder url because current location can't pass through in this case. while creating new document. Could you please suggest me either how to get the site collection url in the case 1 or how to pass the current location to the sourceul in case 2

  • Apache on Win32: Slow Transfers of single, static files in HTTP, fast in HTTPS

    - by Michael Lackner
    I have a weird problem with Apache 2.2.15 on Windows 2000 Server SP4. Basically, I am trying to serve larger static files, images, videos etc. The download seems to be capped at around 550kB/s even over 100Mbit LAN. I tried other protocols (FTP/FTPS/FTP+ES/SCP/SMB), and they are all in the multi-megabyte range. The strangest thing is that, when using Apache with HTTPS instead of HTTP, it serves very fast, around 2.7MByte/s! I also tried the AnalogX SimpleWWW server just to test the plain HTTP speed of it, and it gave me a healthy 3.3Mbyte/s. I am at a total loss here. I searched the web, and tried to change the following Apache configuration directives in httpd.conf, one at a time, mostly to no avail at all: SendBufferSize 1048576 #(tried multiples of that too, up to 100Mbytes) EnableSendfile Off #(minor performance boost) EnableMMAP Off Win32DisableAcceptEx HostnameLookups Off #(default) I also tried to tune the following registry parameters, setting their values to 4194304 in decimal (they are REG_DWORD), and rebooting afterwards: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AFD\Parameters\DefaultReceiveWindow HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AFD\Parameters\DefaultSendWindow Additionally, I tried to install mod_bw, which sets the event timer precision to 1ms, and allows for bandwidth throttling. According to some people it boosts static file serving performance when set to unlimited bandwidth for everybody. Unfortunately, it did nothing for me. So: AnalogX HTTP: 3300kB/s Gene6 FTPD, plain: 3500kB/s Gene6 FTPD, Implicit and Explicit SSL, AES256 Cipher: 1800-2000kB/s freeSSHD: 1100kB/s SMB shared folder: about 3000kB/s Apache HTTP, plain: 550kB/s Apache HTTPS: 2700kB/s Clients that were used in the bandwidth testing: Internet Explorer 8 (HTTP, HTTPS) Firefox 8 (HTTP, HTTPS) Chrome 13 (HTTP, HTTPS) Opera 11.60 (HTTP, HTTPS) wget under CygWin (HTTP, HTTPS) FileZilla (FTP, FTPS, FTP+ES, SFTP) Windows Explorer (SMB) Generally, transfer speeds are not too high, but that's because the server machine is an old quad Pentium Pro 200MHz machine with 2GB RAM. However, I would like Apache to serve at at least 2Mbyte/s instead of 550kB/s, and that already works with HTTPS easily, so I fail to see why plain HTTP is so crippled. I am using a Kerio Winroute Firewall, but no Throttling and no special filters peeking into HTTP traffic, just the plain Firewall functionality for blocking/allowing connections. The Apache error.log (Loglevel info) shows no warnings, no errors. Also nothing strange to be seen in access.log. I have already stripped down my httpd.conf to the bare minimum just to make sure nothing is interfering, but that didn't help either. If you have any idea, help would be greatly appreciated, since I am totally out of ideas! Thanks! Edit: I have now tried a newer Apache 2.2.21 to see if it makes any difference. However, the behaviour is exactly the same. Edit 2: KM01 has requested a sniff on the HTTP headers, so here comes the LiveHTTPHeaders output (an extension to Firefox). • jQuery AutoComplete (jQuery UI 1.8rc3) with ASP.NET web service

    - by user296640
    Currently, I have this version of the autocomplete control working when returning XML from a .ashx handler. The xml looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?> <States> <State> <Code>CA</Code> <Name>California</Name> </State> <State> <Code>NC</Code> <Name>North Carolina</Name> </State> <State> <Code>SC</Code> <Name>South Carolina</Name> </State> The autocomplete code looks like this: $('.autocompleteTest').autocomplete( { source: function(request, response) { var list = []; $.ajax({ url: "http://commonservices.qa.kirkland.com/StateLookup.ashx", dataType: "xml", async: false, data: request, success: function(xmlResponse) { list = $("State", xmlResponse).map(function() { return { value: $("Code", this).text(), label: $("Name", this).text() }; }).get(); } }); response(list); }, focus: function(event, ui) { $('.autocompleteTest').val(ui.item.label); return false; }, select: function(event, ui) { $('.autocompleteTest').val(ui.item.label); $('.autocompleteValue').val(ui.item.value); return false; } }); For various reasons, I'd rather be calling an ASP.NET web service, but I can't get it to work. To change over to the service (I'm doing a local service to keep it simple), the start of the autocomplete code is: $('.autocompleteTest').autocomplete( { source: function(request, response) { var list = []; $.ajax({ url: "/Services/GeneralLookup.asmx/StateList", dataType: "xml", This code is on a page at the root of the site and the GeneralLookup.asmx is in a subfolder named Services. But a breakpoint in the web service never gets hit, and no autocomplete list is generated. In case it makes a difference, the XML that comes from the asmx is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <string xmlns="http://www.kirkland.com/"><State> <Code>CA</Code> <Name>California</Name> </State> <State> <Code>NC</Code> <Name>North Carolina</Name> </State> <State> <Code>SC</Code> <Name>South Carolina</Name> </State></string> Functionally equivalent since I never use the name of the root node in the mapping code. I haven't seen anything in the jQuery docs about calling a .asmx service from this control, but a .ajax call is a .ajax call, right? I've tried various different paths to the .asmx (~/Services/), and I've even moved the service to be in the same path to eliminate these issues. No luck with either. Any ideas?

  • Raspberry Pi stuck at splash screen

    - by Matthew
    I have a raspberry pi and I am stuck at the splash screen. In the top right of the screen there is an image of a Raspberry. When I first power on the device, I get the colored screen, and then I get the image of the raspberry followed by a white cursor which quickly freezes or disappears. I put on the debian version of wheezy that allows java. (the soft float version) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. BTW I did have it working at one point in time and all I did was go to the terminal (logged out of the GUI) and did a shutdown -h now command. But since then I've even started with a brand new version of the image and it is still not working. Oh and I did try the same SD card with a version of arch linux and it worked fine.
