No thread about use or unuse of obfuscusion please ^^
Just share creative approaches how to obfuscate in php the really smart way plz.
plain md5 and base64_decode is too static ..

what about dynamic Variables (even for the same $var).
Thx for any creative input
I'm building a website where I basically want my checkout to work like this website:
http://www.solutionkaizen.com/html/boutique.php
It allows you to enter the quantity for each item and then press a button which brings you to PayPal and lists how many Products you have.
On PayPal's website, all the info I found seems to lead to me needing a shopping cart. If this is absolutely necessary, how could I implement that?
Thanks
Can someone help me complete this PHP function? I want to take a string like this: 'this-is-a-string' and convert it to this: 'thisIsAString':
function dashesToCamelCase($string, $capitalizeFirstCharacter = false) {
// Do stuff
return $string;
}
I need to insert same data to my MySQL table without having PHP loop. The reason why I'm doing this is that because I have a column with Auto_Increment feature and that column associates with other table.
So, I just need to insert some exactly same data and it's multiple rows (dynamic) but by using single INSERT syntax below :
INSERT INTO outbox_multipart (TextDecoded) VALUES ('$SMSMessage')
how to have this single INSERT syntax, but produce n number of rows?
I have some pages, which work fine locally(using WAMP and error_reporting E_ALL in php.ini), but once I upload them, I get the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method DB::exists()
The method is there, and I don't know why it can't be seen.
Do you have an idea what went wrong?
Note: It is worth noting that the
mail() function is not suitable for
larger volumes of email in a loop.
This function opens and closes an SMTP
socket for each email, which is not
very efficient.
Source: PHP manual
What are larger volumes? A 100 or a 1000??
Can I safely make it loop 200 times without much problems? (I can't install pear)
I'm creating something where users can upload an xml and data get's imported to the database.
Now I'm building some kind of a preview page where users will get to see how their input will look once it's stored.
What would be the fastest (in execution time), using XSL to transform the xml to a html page, or using php to render the output?
My guess is XSL is far more suitable (+ faster) for this (and by using a DTD there's no need for code written validation, right?)
There is a way to check with a "IF" if a function fails in php?
Ex.
If (getimagesize($image) returns and error) {
echo 'Error: function dont work';
}
else
{
// do something
}
Thanks!
How does one paginate a large listing of files within a folder?
I can't see any functions in the PHP documentation that mention any way to specify an 'offset'. Both glob() and scandir() simply return all the files in the folder, and I'm afraid that won't be a good idea for a huge directory.
Is there any better way of doing this than simply going through all the files and chopping off the first X number of files?

I need to determine whether an HTTP request was an HTTP/1.0 or an HTTP/1.1 request in my PHP script, which is running under Apache. Is there a way to query this information?
Does anyone know of any good IDE (Code completion, Syntax coloring, etc) that will handle php. Looking for anything that might be relatively cheap or free and doesn't run like crap (IE: Eclipse)
Which technology is better to use in terms of performance for high performance scalable web application? PHP or Python?
The project is going to involve database.

Here's the question, I need to connect to a remote MySQL database from my C# Application, problem is the MySQL instance will block all access to all IP's apart from localhost, this can not be changed as its too much of a security issue.
The question is, is it possible to connect via a tunnel instead to a php script hosted on the server, this would then act as the mysql connection.
Any ideas and suggestions?
Thanks for looking. All helpful answers/comments are up voted.
In php, you can use NOW() like this:
mysql_query("INSERT INTO tablename (id, value, time_created)
VALUES ('{$id}', '{$value}', NOW())");
How can I do the same thing in PDO. When I bind like this, I get an error:
$stmt->bindParam(':time_added', NOW(), PDO::PARAM_STR);
Is it the PDO:PARAM_STR?
hi,
similiar like this example, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1336672/php-remove-brackets-contents-from-a-string i have no idea to replace

Hi have some forms that I want to use some basic php validation (regular expressions) on, how do you go about doing it? I have just general text input, usernames, passwords and date to validate. I would also like to know how to check for empty input boxes. I have looked on the interenet for this stuff but I haven't found any good tutorials.
