• Twitter oauth_callback parameter being ignored!

  Hi guys, I'm trying to get Twitter authentication working on my ASP.NET site. When you create the app on the Twitter website, you have to specify a callback URL, which for sake of argument, I have set to http://mydomain.com I've read the oAuth 1.0a spec, and to override this callback URL with your own custom one you have to send the oauth_callback parameter in the request_token phase (url-encoded of course). So my request URL looks like this: http://twitter.com/oauth/request_token?oauth_callback_url=http%3A%2F%2Fmydomain.com%2Ftwittercallback Supposedly, if all goes to plan, in your response data, you are supposed to receive a new parameter of oauth_callback_confirmed=true in addition to your token and token secret parameters. However, my response comes through as: oauth_token=MYTOKEN&oauth_token_secret=MYTOKENSECRET I know I haven't given you guys the greatest amount to go on, but I'm at my wits end as to why I am not receiving the oauth_callback_confirmed parameter. Without this, my application keeps defaulting back to the callback URL hard-coded on the Twitter website. Please if anyone could help me out, I will be eternally grateful! Thanks, A.

  Hi All. When reading data from a potentially slow website, I want to ensure that get_response can not hang, and so added a timer to timeout after x seconds. So far, so good. I then read http://ph7spot.com/musings/system-timer which illustrates that in certain situations timer.rb doesn't work due to ruby's implementation of threads.   Thanks to everyone in advance. I'm using Jaxer.sandbox and making requests just fine. I'd like these requests to go through my http proxy (like squid for example). • why cant I more than two values from 3 different tables in one query

  This is strange. In the news details page, I want to take a few different values from different tables with one query. However, for some strange reason, I only get two values back. • Reading HttpRequest Body in REST WCF

  Hi All, I got a REST WCF Service running in .net 4 and I've tested the web service it is working and accepting HttpRequest I make to it. But I ran into a problem trying to access the HttpRequest body within the web service. I've tried sending random sizes of data appended on the HttpRequest using both Fiddler and my WinForm app and I can't seem to find any objects in runtime where I can find my request body is located. My initial instinct was to look in the HttpContext.Current.Request.InputStream but the length of that property is 0, so I tried looking in IncomingWebRequestContext that object doesn't even have a method nor properties to get the body of the HttpRequest. So my question is, is there actually a way to access the HttpRequest request body in WCF? PS: The data inside the request body is JSON strings and for response it would return the data inside response body as JSON string too.

  I want to make an HTTP request and then get the response as sketched here: URLConnection c = new URL("http://foo.com").openConnection(); c.setDoOutput(true); /* write an http request here using a new OutputStreamWriter(c.getOutputStream) */ BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(c.getInputStream)); reader.readLine(); But my question is, if the request I send takes a long time before a response is received, what happens in the call reader.readLine() above? Will this process stay running/runnable on the CPU or will it get taken off the CPU and be notified to wake up and run again when there is IO to be read? If it stays on the CPU, what can be done to make it get off and be notified later?

  Hey, My problem is I get error while trying to get request token from Yahoo. The error says Im missing oauth_callback parameter and yes I miss it because I dont need it. Ive read I need to set it to "oob" value if I dont want to use it(desktop app). And I did that but to no avail. If I set it to null the same happens. • ASP.NET MVC: Is it good to access HttpContext in a controller?

  I've been working with ASP.NET(WebForm) for a while, but new to ASP.NET MVC. From many articles I've read, in most cases the reason that the controllers are hard to test is because they are accessing the runtime components: HttpContext (including Request, Response ...). Accessing HttpContext in a controller seems bad. However, I must access these components somewhere, reading input from Request, sending results back via Response, and using Session to hold a few state variables. So where is the best place to access these runtime components if we don't access them in a controller? Best regards, Zach@Shine

• Getting a KeyError in DB backend of django-digest

  I have just started to integrate django_digest into my app. As a start I have added the @httpdigest decorator to one of my views. If I try to connect to it I get a KeyError exception thrown in django_digest/backend/db.py . Depending on which db I configure I get a different KeyError in a different location. I am using Django 1.2.1, with MySql (also tested with sqlite). I am using the default values for all the settings options. As far as I can see I have followed all instructions but am struggling all day with this. I am using the repository versions of django-digest and python-digest. Any steer would be greatly appreciated. • Does Android support near real time push notification

  I recently learned about the ability of iPhone apps to receive nearly instantaneous notifications to apps. This is provided in the form of push notifications, a bespoke protocol which keeps an always on data connection to the iPhone and messages binary packets to the app, which pops up alerts incredibly quickly, between 0.5 - 5 seconds from server app send to phone app response time. This is sent as data - rather than SMS - in very very small packets charged as part of the data plan not as incoming messages. I would like to know if using Android there is either a similar facility, or whether it's possible to implement something close to this using Android APIs. To clarify I define similar as: Not an SMS message, but some data driven solution As real time as is possible Is scalable - ie: as the server part of a mobile app, I could notify thousands of app instances in seconds I appreciate the app could be pull based, HTTP request/response style, but ideally I don't want to to be polling that heavily just to check for notification .. besides which it's like drip draining the data plan.

The content script handles the storage functionality (chrome.storage manipulation). Whenever, a user changes a setting in the options page, I want to send a message to the content script to store the new data.   I've got an AJAX transmission of a variable string in my primary coding language (Visual FoxPro 9) that looks like this: AjaxResponse = CREATEOBJECT("Custom") lcMessage = "<li class='hello'>Hello</li>" AjaxResponse.AddProperty("Reply", lcMessage) Response.ContentType = "text/html" Response.Write(AjaxResponse.Reply) While using the jQuery function .ajax() I've created a success: function that looks like this: $.ajax({ url: 'index?Proc=GetUuserHistory', dataType: "html", success: function(data){ $("div#history-text").text(data); }; }); My problem is that the text inserting into 'div#history-text' is unformatted and contains the li tags still. I've tried substituting the .text for .prepend, .append, and .html with no luck...is there a way to convert this string back to html format after its been received using Ajax?

  I'd like to create a procmail recipe or Perl or shell script that will send an auto response to the original sender as well as anybody that was copied (either To: or cc:) on the original email. Example: [email protected] writes an email to [email protected] and [email protected] (in the To: field). Copies are sent via cc: to [email protected] and [email protected]. I'd like the script to send an auto response to the original sender ([email protected]) and everybody else that was sent a copy of the email ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]).
