  • improve my python program to fetch the desire rows by using if condition

    - by user2560507
    unique.txt file contains: 2 columns with columns separated by tab. total.txt file contains: 3 columns each column separated by tab. I take each row from unique.txt file and find that in total.txt file. If present then extract entire row from total.txt and save it in new output file. ###Total.txt column a column b column c interaction1 mitochondria_205000_225000 mitochondria_195000_215000 interaction2 mitochondria_345000_365000 mitochondria_335000_355000 interaction3 mitochondria_345000_365000 mitochondria_5000_25000 interaction4 chloroplast_115000_128207 chloroplast_35000_55000 interaction5 chloroplast_115000_128207 chloroplast_15000_35000 interaction15 2_10515000_10535000 2_10505000_10525000 ###Unique.txt column a column b mitochondria_205000_225000 mitochondria_195000_215000 mitochondria_345000_365000 mitochondria_335000_355000 mitochondria_345000_365000 mitochondria_5000_25000 chloroplast_115000_128207 chloroplast_35000_55000 chloroplast_115000_128207 chloroplast_15000_35000 mitochondria_185000_205000 mitochondria_25000_45000 2_16595000_16615000 2_16585000_16605000 4_2785000_2805000 4_2775000_2795000 4_11395000_11415000 4_11385000_11405000 4_2875000_2895000 4_2865000_2885000 4_13745000_13765000 4_13735000_13755000 My program: file=open('total.txt') file2 = open('unique.txt') all_content=file.readlines() all_content2=file2.readlines() store_id_lines = [] ff = open('match.dat', 'w') for i in range(len(all_content)): line=all_content[i].split('\t') seq=line[1]+'\t'+line[2] for j in range(len(all_content2)): if all_content2[j]==seq: ff.write(seq) break Problem: but istide of giving desire output (values of those 1st column that fulfile the if condition). i nead somthing like if jth of unique.txt == ith of total.txt then write ith row of total.txt into new file.

  • ASP Classic Named Parameter in Paramaterized Query: Must declare the scalar variable

    - by My Alter Ego
    I'm trying to write a parameterized query in ASP Classic, and it's starting to feel like i'm beating my head against a wall. I'm getting the following error: Must declare the scalar variable "@something". I would swear that is what the hello line does, but maybe i'm missing something... <% OPTION EXPLICIT %> <!-- #include file="../common/adovbs.inc" --> <% Response.Buffer=false dim conn,connectionString,cmd,sql,rs,parm connectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Data Source=.\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=stuff" set conn = server.CreateObject("adodb.connection") conn.Open(connectionString) set cmd = server.CreateObject("adodb.command") set cmd.ActiveConnection = conn cmd.CommandType = adCmdText cmd.CommandText = "select @something" cmd.NamedParameters = true cmd.Prepared = true set parm = cmd.CreateParameter("@something",advarchar,adParamInput,255,"Hello") call cmd.Parameters.append(parm) set rs = cmd.Execute if not rs.eof then Response.Write rs(0) end if %>

  • A reasonable way to add attributes to an xml root element in C#.

    - by DrLazer
    The function "WriteStartElement" does not return anything. I find this a little bizzare. So up until now I have been doing it like this. XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); XmlTextWriter xmlWriter = new XmlTextWriter(m_targetFilePath, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8); xmlWriter.Formatting = Formatting.Indented; xmlWriter.WriteProcessingInstruction("xml", "version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'"); xmlWriter.WriteStartElement("client"); xmlWriter.Close(); xmlDoc.Load(m_targetFilePath); XmlElement root = xmlDoc.DocumentElement; Saving the doc, then reloading it to get hold of the start element so i can write attributes to it. Does anybody know the correct way of doing this because I'm pretty sure what I'm doing isn't right. I tried to use xmlWriter.AppendChild() but it doesnt seem to write out anything. :(

  • Ubuntu quickly (python/gtk) - how to monitor stdin?

    - by neil
    I'm starting to work with Ubuntu's "quickly" framework, which is python/gtk based. I want to write a gui wrapper for a textmode C state-machine that uses stdin/stdout. I'm new to gtk. I can see that the python print command will write to the terminal window, so I assume I could redirect that to my C program's stdin. But how can I get my quickly program to monitor stdin (i.e. watch for the C program's stdout responses)? I suppose I need some sort of polling loop, but I don't know if/where that is supported within the "quickly" framework. Or is redirection not the way to go - should I be looking at something like gobject.spawn_async?

  • Sending Variables in Post without the input tag

    - by abhishekgupta92
    I want to send only one variable via the post method. I have queried the database and have to post $row[id] variable to the page along with the form. To send the user's input we simply write like <input type="text" name="xyz"></input> and then we access it as $_POST[xyz]. This way we can send a variable that a user write. But, I want to send something that user has not written but there in my sending file as $row['id']. So, I want to send this variable as well. How can I do that? And also how will I be able to access that?

  • Identify the checkbox that is checked

    - by lucky
    Hello Everyone, I have 2 checkboxes in a form and onclick of these, some php code needs to be executed and based on the result of the code, the checkbox is checked or unchecked. So i have written onclick = document.formName.submit(); Now it is triggering the same page and i am able to write the code. I am not able to differentiate which checkbox is checked. I don't want to use the procedure of:- calling javascript and then storing the value of the checkbox in a variable and making this variable as invisible. I would like to write something like document.formName.submit('checkbox1'). So that i should be able to handle the value of this or i dont know. Please suggest me an alternative method or better approach.

  • javascript date.utc problem

    - by Dave
    I'm trying to compare 2 dates using javascript. 1 at the end of the month and 1 at the beginning. I need to compare these 2 dates in seconds so I'm using the Date.UTC javascript function. Here's the code: var d = Date.UTC(2010,5,31,23,59,59); document.write(d); var d2 = Date.UTC(2010,6,1,12,20,11); document.write(d2); The output for is: 1278028799000 1277986811000 This is telling me that 1/6/2010 is less than 5/31/2010 in milliseconds. How is that possible? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

  • How to convert list into a string?

    - by PARIJAT
    I have extracted some data from the file and want to write it in the file 2 but the program says 'sequence item 1: expected string, list found', I want to know how I can convert buffer[] i.e. string into sequence, so that it could be saved in file 2. file = open('/ddfs/user/data/k/ktrip_01/hmm.txt','r') file2 = open('/ddfs/user/data/k/ktrip_01/hmm_write.txt','w') buffer = [] rec = file.readlines() for line in rec : field = line.split() print '>',field[0] term = field[0] buffer.append(term) print field[1], field[2], field[6], field[12] term1 = field [1] buffer.append(term1) term2 = field[2] buffer.append[term2] term3 = field[6] buffer.append[term3] term4 = field[12] buffer.append[term4] file2.write(buffer) file.close() file2.close()

  • How to sanely read and dump structs to disk when some fields are pointers?

    - by bp
    Hello, I'm writing a FUSE plugin in C. I'm keeping track of data structures in the filesystem through structs like: typedef struct { block_number_t inode; filename_t filename; //char[SOME_SIZE] some_other_field_t other_field; } fs_directory_table_item_t; Obviously, I have to read (write) these structs from (to) disk at some point. I could treat the struct as a sequence of bytes and do something like this: read(disk_fd, directory_table_item, sizeof(fs_directory_table_item_t)); ...except that cannot possibly work as filename is actually a pointer to the char array. I'd really like to avoid having to write code like: read(disk_df, *directory_table_item.inode, sizeof(block_number_t)); read(disk_df, directory_table_item.filename, sizeof(filename_t)); read(disk_df, *directory_table_item.other_field, sizeof(some_other_field_t)); ...for each struct in the code, because I'd have to replicate code and changes in no less than three different places (definition, reading, writing). Any DRYer but still maintainable ideas?

  • How can I avoid mutable variables in Scala when using ZipInputStreams and ZipOutpuStreams?

    - by pr1001
    I'm trying to read a zip file, check that it has some required files, and then write all valid files out to another zip file. The basic introduction to java.util.zip has a lot of Java-isms and I'd love to make my code more Scala-native. Specifically, I'd like to avoid the use of vars. Here's what I have: val fos = new FileOutputStream("new.zip"); val zipOut = new ZipOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(fos)); while (zipIn.available == 1) { val entry = zipIn.getNextEntry if (entryIsValid(entry)) { val fos = new FileOutputStream("subdir/" + entry.getName()); val dest = new BufferedOutputStream(fos); // read data into the data Array var data: Array[Byte] = null var count = zip.read(data) while (count != -1) { dest.write(data, 0, count) count = zip.read(data) } dest.flush dest.close } }

  • Clean way to output values in ASP.NET MVC Views when value is not null

    - by Swoop
    Is there a better way to write the code below? I have quite a few blocks that are similar, and this is making the code in the Viewpage very messy to work with. The data value with the associated label only needs to be output when certain conditions are met, which is almost always if the value is not null. The options I can think is to use a response.write to atleast minimize the usage of the ASP script tags, or to format the webpage is such a way that the label displays with an appropriate n/a type value. <% if (myData.Balance != null) { %> Balance: <%= String.Format("{0:C}", (myData.Balance))%> <% } %>

  • Lucene .NET IndexWriter lock

    - by Pini Salim
    My question related to the next code snippet: static void Main(string[] args) { Lucene.Net.Store.Directory d = FSDirectory.Open(new DirectoryInfo(/*my index path*/)); IndexWriter writer = new IndexWriter(d, new WhitespaceAnalyzer()); //Exiting without closing the indexd writer... } In this test, I opened an IndexWriter without closing it - so even after the test exits, the write.lock file still exists in the index directory, so I expected that the next time I open an instance of IndexWriter to that index, a LockObatinFailedException will be thrown. Can someone please explain to me why am I wrong? I mean, does the meaning of the write.lock file is to protect creation of two IndexWriters in the same process only? that doesnt seems the right answer to me...

  • Array index is not accessable because it is Friend

    - by user3738194
    I am getting and error when I bring my code into another project. In a blank project it works fine, I really have no idea how to get around it, here is the error Error 1 'System.Data.Index' is not accessible in this context because it is 'Friend'. Dim DataString As String = txtAdvancedCommand.Text ' Create an array containing from each letter in Textbox Dim charArray() As Char = DataString.ToCharArray For index = 0 To charArray.GetUpperBound(0) <-----ERROR on word index Try 'Now lets send the data If SerialPort.IsOpen Then SerialPort.Write(charArray(index) & vbCrLf) <-----ERROR on word index Else ConnectSerial() SerialPort.Write(charArray(index) & vbCrLf) <-----ERROR on word index End If Catch e As Exception txtLog.AppendText(e.Message & vbCrLf) End Try Next now the project I am bringing into has a DLL and I suspect it has something to do with it, I cannot get the source code to the DLL so is there another way around this?

  • Java replacement for C macros

    - by thkala
    Recently I refactored the code of a 3rd party hash function from C++ to C. The process was relatively painless, with only a few changes of note. Now I want to write the same function in Java and I came upon a slight issue. In the C/C++ code there is a C preprocessor macro that takes a few integer variables names as arguments and performs a bunch of bitwise operations with their contents and a few constants. That macro is used in several different places, therefore its presence avoids a fair bit of code duplication. In Java, however, there is no equivalent for the C preprocessor. There is also no way to affect any basic type passed as an argument to a method - even autoboxing produces immutable objects. Coupled with the fact that Java methods return a single value, I can't seem to find a simple way to rewrite the macro. Avenues that I considered: Expand the macro by hand everywhere: It would work, but the code duplication could make things interesting in the long run. Write a method that returns an array: This would also work, but it would repeatedly result into code like this: long tmp[] = bitops(k, l, m, x, y, z); k = tmp[0]; l = tmp[1]; m = tmp[2]; x = tmp[3]; y = tmp[4]; z = tmp[5]; Write a method that takes an array as an argument: This would mean that all variable names would be reduced to array element references - it would be rather hard to keep track of which index corresponds to which variable. Create a separate class e.g. State with public fields of the appropriate type and use that as an argument to a method: This is my current solution. It allows the method to alter the variables, while still keeping their names. It has the disadvantage, however, that the State class will get more and more complex, as more macros and variables are added, in order to avoid copying values back and forth among different State objects. How would you rewrite such a C macro in Java? Is there a more appropriate way to deal with this, using the facilities provided by the standard Java 6 Development Kit (i.e. without 3rd party libraries or a separate preprocessor)?

  • Literate Haskell (.lhs) and Haddock

    - by finnsson
    At the moment I'm only using Haddock but after seeing some really interesting examples (e.g. this gist ) of literate Haskell I'm interested in trying it out in a project. The questions I got are: What do you write as Haddock comments and what do you write in the literate part? How do you scale literate programming to multiple files? Can anyone point me to an example where literate programming is used in a package with multiple modules? What is your experience of using literate programming in larger packages? Which flavour (markdown, latex, ...) of literate Haskell is preferred? Why are you programming in literate Haskell or plain vanilla Haskell? Are you programming in both styles and if so why? Do you prefer block-style (\begin{code}) or Bird-style (>)? Why?

  • Creating dynamic dictionary

    - by Syom
    i must create something like dictionary in my site, but there is one problem, i don't imagine ho to solve. the client wants the following: in the CMS he must be able to write some specification to some words or even sentences, and after it, in the site, onmouseover() of that words, i must show it's specification in popup window. for example, in the cms he writes "hello word" - "specification of hello world", and then, in the site, if i have the text many many words here hello world and another words... onmouseover of "hello world" i must show "specification of hello world". the problem, that i don't know how to solve, is how to write the functions on the text content? could you give me an idea... Thanks

  • How would I go about writing a Linux TTY sniffer?

    - by alienate
    For educational purposes (not that anyone should care the motivations behind such an exercise) I'd like to write a program that can read/write to/from alternate tty/pty's. I've read papers (from the 1990's) but can't employ the implementation they use, on modern UNIXes. I was hoping that someone had researched into this in the past, or at least, read documentation pertaining to it, that they could provide. I also wonder if (considering the fact that Linux doesn't have STREAMs) if this exercise must be done via a loadable kernel module? I have many questions and probably a misunderstanding of some of the fundamental ideologies that allow such objectives to be put in place, could someone help? :)

  • Does JSLint parse DOM functions?

    - by Paul
    I tried to use the parse() function of JSLint to parse three pieces of JavaScript code: function(b, c){var a = b + c; return a; } window.addEventListener('click', click_hanlder, true); document.documentElement.innerHTML; Here's the code, which is copied and pasted from the JSLint self-parse example: ` try { parse = make_parse(); var source = "something to parse";//replaced by the code above tree = parse(source); if (tree) { document.write(JSON.stringify(tree, ['key', 'name', 'message', 'value', 'arity', 'first', 'second', 'third', 'fourth'], 4)); } } catch (e) { document.write(JSON.stringify(e, ['name', 'message', 'from', 'to', 'key', 'value', 'arity', 'first', 'second', 'third', 'fourth'], 4)); } ` The output: returns a correct tree. returns a tree with only one node of "window". crashes the browser. I'm wondering whether JSLint doesn't support DOM function.

  • Haskell: writing the result of a computation to file

    - by peterwkc
    I have a function which creates a tuple after computation, but I would like to write it to file. I know how to write to a file using writeFile, but do not know how to combine the computation and monads IO together in the type signature. This is my code. invest :: ([Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) ) -> [Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) invest myinvest x y = myinvest x y myinvest :: [Char]->Int->Int->([Char], Int) myinvest w x y | y > 0 = (w, x + y) | otherwise = error "Invest amount must greater than zero" where I have a function which computes the maximum value from a list, but I want this function to receive input from a file, and then perform the computation of maximum value. maximuminvest :: (Ord a) => [a] -> a maximuminvest [] = error "Empty Invest Amount List" maximuminvest [x] = x maximuminvest (x:xs) | x > maxTail = x | otherwise = maxTail where maxTail = maximuminvest xs Please help. Thanks.

  • Developing a jQuery plugin that returns a given object, instead of jQuery object itself!

    - by mehdi5275
    Hi, Consider the following base code: (function($) { $.fn.myPlugin = function(settings) { return this.each(function() { //whatever }); }; }); The plugin returns a jQuery object. The question is how am I supposed to write a plugin that returns a custom object so that I can do something like this: var api = $('div.myelement').myPlugin(); api.onMyEventName(function(e, whateverParam) { //whatever }); It'd be highly appreciated if you could write some lines of code that describes me how to do that, how to call the onMyEventName function on a custom api object... Thanks.
