  • disposing a class loader

    - by java_geek
    I am using a custom class loader which extends URLClassLoader. I load some classes into my custom class loader and perform some task. Once the task is completed i want to dispose of the class loader. I tried doing that by setting the reference to null. But this does not garbage collect the class loader. Is there a way that can help what i want to achieve?

  • Automatically creating C# wrappers from c headers?

    - by Winner
    Is there a way to automatically create p/invoke wrappers for .net from a c header? Of course I could create them by hand, but maintaining them would be painful, and I'd probably make a mistake somewhere resulting in hard to debug crashes. I tried SWIG, but it created full classes where simple structs would be sufficient. I'd prefer if the output worked on mono too, but that is not necessary.

  • Why is my namespace not recognized in Visual Studio / xaml

    - by msfanboy
    Hello, these are my 2 classes a Attachable Property SelectedItems: code is from here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1297643/sync-selecteditems-in-a-muliselect-listbox-with-a-collection-in-viewmodel The namespace TBM.Helper is for sure proper as it works for other classes too. The namespace reference is also in the xaml file: xmlns:Helper="clr_namespace:TBM.Helper" But <ListBox Helper:SelectedItems.Items="{Binding SelectedItems}" ... does not work because = The property 'SelectedItems.Items' does not exist in XML namespace 'clr_namespace:TBM.Helper'. The attachable property 'Items' was not found in type 'SelectedItems What do I have to change ? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Collections; using System.Windows; namespace TBM.Helper { public static class SelectedItems : DependencyObject { private static readonly DependencyProperty SelectedItemsBehaviorProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached( "SelectedItemsBehavior", typeof(SelectedItemsBehavior), typeof(ListBox), null); public static readonly DependencyProperty ItemsProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached( "Items", typeof(IList), typeof(SelectedItems), new PropertyMetadata(null, ItemsPropertyChanged)); public static void SetItems(ListBox listBox, IList list) { listBox.SetValue(ItemsProperty, list); } public static IList GetItems(ListBox listBox) { return listBox.GetValue(ItemsProperty) as IList; } private static void ItemsPropertyChanged(DependencyObject d, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e) { var target = d as ListBox; if (target != null) { GetOrCreateBehavior(target, e.NewValue as IList); } } private static SelectedItemsBehavior GetOrCreateBehavior(ListBox target, IList list) { var behavior = target.GetValue(SelectedItemsBehaviorProperty) as SelectedItemsBehavior; if (behavior == null) { behavior = new SelectedItemsBehavior(target, list); target.SetValue(SelectedItemsBehaviorProperty, behavior); } return behavior; } } } using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Collections; namespace TBM.Helper { public class SelectedItemsBehavior { private readonly ListBox _listBox; private readonly IList _boundList; public SelectedItemsBehavior(ListBox listBox, IList boundList) { _boundList = boundList; _listBox = listBox; SetSelectedItems(); _listBox.SelectionChanged += OnSelectionChanged; _listBox.DataContextChanged += OnDataContextChanged; } private void SetSelectedItems() { _listBox.SelectedItems.Clear(); foreach (object item in _boundList) { // References in _boundList might not be the same as in _listBox.Items int i = _listBox.Items.IndexOf(item); if (i >= 0) _listBox.SelectedItems.Add(_listBox.Items[i]); } } private void OnDataContextChanged(object sender, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e) { SetSelectedItems(); } private void OnSelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { _boundList.Clear(); foreach (var item in _listBox.SelectedItems) _boundList.Add(item); } } }

  • What is the most elegant way to implement a business rule relating to a child collection in LINQ?

    - by AaronSieb
    I have two tables in my database: Wiki WikiId ... WikiUser WikiUserId (PK) WikiId UserId IsOwner ... These tables have a one (Wiki) to Many (WikiUser) relationship. How would I implement the following business rule in my LINQ entity classes: "A Wiki must have exactly one owner?" I've tried updating the tables as follows: Wiki WikiId (PK) OwnerId (FK to WikiUser) ... WikiUser WikiUserId (PK) WikiId UserId ... This enforces the constraint, but if I remove the owner's WikiUser record from the Wiki's WikiUser collection, I recieve an ugly SqlException. This seems like it would be difficult to catch and handle in the UI. Is there a way to perform this check before the SqlException is generated? A better way to structure my database? A way to catch and translate the SqlException to something more useful? Edit: I would prefer to keep the validation rules within the LINQ entity classes if possible. Edit 2: Some more details about my specific situation. In my application, the user should be able to remove users from the Wiki. They should be able to remove any user, except the user who is currently flagged as the "owner" of the Wiki (a Wiki must have exactly one owner at all times). In my control logic, I'd like to use something like this: wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); And have any broken rules transferred to the UI layer. What I DON'T want to have to do is this: if(wikiUser.WikiUserId != wiki.OwnerId) { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } else { //Handle errors. } I also don't particularly want to move the code to my repository (because there is nothing to indicate not to use the native Remove functions), so I also DON'T want code like this: mRepository.RemoveWikiUser(wiki, wikiUser) mRepository.Save(); This WOULD be acceptable: try { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } catch(ValidationException ve) { //Display ve.Message } But this catches too many errors: try { wiki.WikiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); mRepository.Save(); } catch(SqlException se) { //Display se.Message } I would also PREFER NOT to explicitly call a business rule check (although it may become necessary): wiki.WIkiUsers.Remove(wikiUser); if(wiki.CheckRules()) { mRepository.Save(); } else { //Display broken rules }

  • JNI cached jclass global reference variables being garbage collected?

    - by bubbadoughball
    I'm working in the JNI Invocation API, calling into Java from C. I have some upfront initialization to cache 30+ Java classes into global references. The results of FindClass are passed into NewGlobalRef to acquire a global reference to the class. I'm caching these class variables to reuse them later. I have 30+ global references to classes (and 30+ global methodIDs for the class constructors). In the following sample, I've removed exception handling as well as JNI invocation for the purpose of shortening the code snippet. My working code has exception checks after every JNI call and I'm running with -Xcheck:jni. Here's the snippet: jclass aClass; jclass bClass; jmethodID aCtor; jmethodID bCtor; void getGlobalRef(const char* clazz, jclass* globalClass) { jclass local = (*jenv)->FindClass(jenv,clazz); if (local) { *globalClass = (jclass) (*jenv)->NewGlobalRef(jenv,local); (*jenv)->DeleteLocalRef(jenv,local); } } methodID getMethodID(jclass clazz, const char* method, const char* sig) { return (*jenv)->GetMethodID(jenv,clazz,method,sig); } void initializeJNI() { getGlobalRef("MyProj/Testclass1", &aclass); getGlobalRef("MyProj/Testclass2", &bclass); . . aCtor = getMethodID(aclass,"<init>","()V"); bCtor = getMethodID(bclass,"<init>","(I)V"); } The initializeJNI() function sets the global references for jclasses and method IDs for constructors as well as some jfieldID's and some initialization of C data structures. After initialization, when I call into a JNI function using some of the cached jclasses and ctor jmethodIDs, I get a bad global or local reference calling reported from the -Xcheck:jni. In gdb, I break at the last line of initializeJNI(), and print all jclasses and jmethodIDs and the ones causing problems look to have been turned into garbage or garbage-collected (i.e. 0x00 or 0x06). Is it possible for global references to be gc'ed? Any suggestions?

  • beneficial in terms of performance

    - by Usama Khalil
    Hi, is it better to declare Webservice class object instances as static as the .asmx webservice classes have only static methods. what i want is that i declare and instantiate webservice asmx class as static in aspx Page Behind Class. and on every event call on that page i could perform operation against webservice methods. is it beneficial in terms of performance? Thanks Usama

  • Configure autocomplete in intellij with hamcrest and mockito dsl

    - by sgargan
    I'm wondering if its possible to configure Intellij's smart insert to suggest hamcrest and mockito dsl idioms when in test classes. Really I'm looking for something like eclipse's 'static favorites', so that when I hit ctrl + space or ctrl +shift +space the idioms are present. In general is it possible to configure autocomplete/smart insert or the suggestions balloon for that matter. I've looked through the settings without much luck but could easily have overlooked something.

  • Did Java invent interfaces?

    - by Jordão
    I know about C++ pure virtual classes, but Java went one step further and created a first-class (no pun intended) concept for multiple-interface (not implementation) inheritance, the interface. It's now a staple of major statically-typed languages. Did Java invent the interface concept? Or did it appear in older languages also as a first-class concept?

  • KVM and libvirt: How to configure a new disc device to an existing VM?

    - by initall
    I've got an Ubuntu 9.04 server running two VM's. In /etc/libvirt/qemu/machine1.xml two disk devices are defined like this: <devices> <emulator>/usr/bin/kvm</emulator> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <source file='/vserver/machine1/disk0.qcow2'/> <target dev='hda' bus='ide'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <source file='/vserver/machine1/disk1.qcow2'/> <target dev='hdb' bus='ide'/> </disk> I need more storage space in at least one of the devices and thought about adding a third hdc device by simply adding one with same style as above and re-organising my mount structure (The virtual sizes of the current qcow2 files are unfortunately limited.) My problem is that reloading libvirtd and restarting the VM do not result in a new visible device (checked with fdisk). I'm aware of extending an existing qcow2 file (converting to raw format, cat-ing/adding the new one, using smth. like gparted) - but only as a last resort. Hopefully it's something very simple I'm missing?

  • How to pass initialisation parameters to a web service in Netbeans

    - by Bob Roberts
    I have built a web web service with Netbeans 6.8 using the "Web Service from WSDL" wizard. It has generated the binding classes and a skeleton for the class implementing the web service. I've set some initialization parameters in web.xml, under the servlet corresponding to the web service. Now I'd like to pass those parameters to the class implementing the web service. How can this be achieved (preferably without editing any of the code auto-generated by Netbeans)?

  • What can map database tables like LINQ to SQL did?

    - by trnTash
    A good thing in LINQ to SQL was a fast and reliable way to map database tables and convert them into classes accessible from c# project. However it is no longer recommended to create projects using LINQ to SQL. What is its substitute? What kind of tool should I use in VS 2010 today if I want to have the same functionality as I had with LINQ to SQL?

  • building list of child objects inside main object

    - by Asdfg
    I have two tables like this: Category: Id Name ------------------ 1 Cat1 2 Cat2 Feature: Id Name CategoryId -------------------------------- 1 F1 1 2 F2 1 3 F3 2 4 F4 2 5 F5 2 In my .Net classes, i have two POCO classes like this: public class Category { public int Id {get;set;} public int Name {get;set;} public IList<Feature> Features {get;set;} } public class Feature { public int Id {get;set;} public int CategoryId {get;set;} public int Name {get;set;} } I am using a stored proc that returns me a result set by joining these 2 tables. This is how my Stored Proc returns the result set. SELECT c.CategoryId, c.Name Category, f.FeatureId, f.Name Feature FROM Category c INNER JOIN Feature f ON c.CategoryId = f.CategoryId ORDER BY c.Name --Resultset produced by the above query CategoryId CategoryName FeatureId FeatureName --------------------------------------------------- 1 Cat1 1 F1 1 Cat1 2 F2 2 Cat2 3 F3 2 Cat2 4 F4 2 Cat2 5 F5 Now if i want to build the list of categories in my .Net code, i have to loop thru the result set and add features unless the category changes. This is how my .Net code looks like that builds Categories and Features. List<Category> categories = new List<Category>(); Int32 lastCategoryId = 0; Category c = new Category(); using (SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader()) { while (reader.Read()) { //Check if the categoryid is same as previous one. //If Not, add new category. //If Yes, dont add the category. if (lastCategoryId != Convert.ToInt32(reader["CategoryId"])) { c = new Category { Id = Convert.ToInt32(reader["CategoryId"]), Name = reader["CategoryName"].ToString() }; c.Features = new List<Feature>(); categories.Add(c); } lastCategoryId = Convert.ToInt32(reader["CategoryId"]); //Add Feature c.Features.Add(new Feature { Name = reader["FeatureName"].ToString(), Id = Convert.ToInt32(reader["FeatureId"]) }); } return categories; } I was wondering if there is a better way to do build the list of Categories?

  • How can I use the HSL colorspace in Java?

    - by Eric
    I've had a look at the ColorSpace class, and found the constant TYPE_HLS (which presumably is just HSL in a different order). Can I use this constant to create a Color from hue, saturation, and luminosity? If not, are there any Java classes for this, or do I need to write my own?
