  • Basic Scolling Question

    Hey guys, im pretty new to android platform and have a really simple question. Im putting buttons as layouts with text boxes, but im running out of room. How would i make it possible for the user to scroll down to view more buttons and stuff. For example, if i have 6 buttons, and 3 are in the field of view, i wanna be able to scroll with my finger and be able to see those buttons as I scroll. Thanks for the help guys -Localgamer

  • POSIX: allocate 64KB on 64KB boundary.

    I would really like to actually only allocate 64KB of memory, not 128KB and then do the alignment manually - far too wasteful. VirtualAlloc on windows gives precisely this behavior. Supposedly there's code in SquirrelFish for doing this on just about every platform, but I haven't managed to locate it. Is there a space efficient way to allocate 64KB on a 64KB boundary in POSIX? Failing that, in Linux?

  • Are there any good e-commerce extensions/plugins for Umbraco?

    I'm working on a project that will use Umbraco for CMS capability, but also has a fairly simple ecommerce requirement. I'm aware of Commerce4Umbraco, are there others? Or, should I look elsewhere for simple e-commerce functionality. Would be nice to use the same platform for CMS and e-commerce... stuck with Umbraco though.

    I just read that Android has a 450% performance improvement because it added a JIT compiler, I know what JIT is, but I don't really understand why is it faster than normal compiled code? or what's the difference with the older approach from the Android platform (the Java like run compiled bytecode). I'm using Qt for symbian. my problem is that Qt doesn't provide ready to use API for bluetooth.Only Qt extended(which runs on embedded linux) has API for bluetooth.   • In Ruby, how does one get their IP octet without going through DNS?

    I can, on some of my systems, get my IP address (192.68.m.n format) by doing this: addr = IPSocket::getAddress(Socket.gethostname()) ...the trouble is that this only works if the name the local machine uses for itself is the name the DNS server associates with it. How *&#( hard can it be for ruby to just return its primary interface's IP address? I have to do this in a platform-independant way or I'd just call ifconfig or ipconfig and parse it.

    Coding Platform: ASP.NET 4.0 I am binding a GridView with LinqDataSource with AutoDelete functionality enabled. GridView is bound to the Products Table. I have a Products Table and a Category Table with an association on CategoryID. If I try to delete a Category that is referred in the Products Table I cannot do that.
