• How can I set value to Html hidden fields from asp.net

  Hi I have scenario, where there are html hidden fields, the page can be redirected to itself, with parameters, I have sessions too. Now depending on session value I want to set some hidden values, so that it can be picked up from javascript and can do certain operation. But, the problem is I have no idea about how to get/ set values into html controls using asp.net, and also do not know whether this is possible or not. Please note, it is imperative that I need some way to hold some data that can be set using asp.net and can be picked up by javascript. Since session can not be used for this purpose, so I need some other way. Please enlighten me! Thanks and regards Arunendra

• Caching stored procedure results in Linq'u

  In our web application we have a lots of stored procedures look like this one: getSomeData(/* 7 diffrent params */) This stored procedure don't make any updates. We are using Linq'u. I know that the date are changing no often than once per day so the results for the same sets of parameters values will be the same. Does Linqu have cache simple solution? I know how to 'manually' write cache mechanism in .net, but I supposed that in Linqu this problem was solved. I'm a lazy guy :) so I'm looking for something realy simple like: Linqu_global_store_procedure_configuration.CacheDuration="600" Linqu_global_store_procedure_configuration.CacheVaryByParam="*" I'm using .net 3.5 but its not any problem to move for 4.0.

• new with exception with Microsoft

  As I'm coding for both Windows and Linux, I have a whole host of problems. Microsoft Visual C++ has no stdint header, but for that I wrote my own. Now I found out that MS C++'s new operator does not throw an exception, so I want to fix this a quickly as possible. I know I can define a Macro with Parameters in Parenthesis, can I define a macro that replaces MyClass x = new MyClass(); with #ifdef MSC_VER if(!(MyClass x = new MyClass()) { throw new std::bad_alloc(); } #else MyClass x = new MyClass(); #endif (or something equivalent), AND works in BOTH MS C++ and G++ ? Or alternatively if that is not possible, a batch file to run over the Code to do this? I have become rather dependent on this exception being thrown.

  Hi, I've not used basic SQLCommands for a while and I'm trying to pass a param to a sproc and the run it. However when I run the code I get a "Not Supplied" error. Code: SqlConnection conn1 = new SqlConnection(DAL.getConnectionStr()); SqlCommand cmd1 = new SqlCommand("SProc_Item_GetByID", conn1); cmd1.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@ID", itemId)); conn1.Open(); cmd1.ExecuteNonQuery(); I'm not really sure why this would fail. I want to be able to create an object with either 1 "customer" or 2 "customers" based on the constructor parameters. • CRC32 calculations for png chunk doesn't match the real one

  I'm attempting to mimic the function used for creating CRC's in PNG files, I'm using the autodin II polynomial and the source code from: http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/xnu/xnu-1456.1.26/bsd/libkern/crc32.c My tests have all been for the IHDR chunk, so my parameters have been: crc - 0xffffffff and 0 (both have been suggested) buff - the address of the IHDR Chunk's type. length - the IHDR Chunk's length + 4 (the length of the chunk's data + the length of the type) I printed the calculated CRC in binary, which I compared to the actual CRC of the chunk. I can see no similarities (little-big endian, reversed bits, XOR'd, etc). This is the data for the IHDR chunk (hexadecimal format): length(big endian): d0 00 00 00 (13) type: 49 48 44 52 data: 00 00 01 77 00 00 01 68 08 06 00 00 00 existing CRC: b0 bb 40 ac If anyone can tell me why my calculations are off, or give me a CRC32 function that will work I would greatly appreciate it. • Need help in downloading file with header() function

  Hi. I'm trying to explain as best as I can, sorry for my English. I have a list of links, each linked to a php file with an id by parameters (ex. download.php?id=1 or ?id=2 and so on). This file create a new instance of a class witch return the correct header of the files so it displays the save dialog box of the browser. Now I need to check if the files is already downloaded in past (The first time you downloaded it I add a field on the mysql db). This checks go ahead if you haven't download the files, else return false. Here is the problem, when it returns false or something else the browser redirect me to the download.php file, so I get a blank page or what I'm echoing. I need that if the file is already download it show me a js alert for advice ppl. Hope you can understand what i mean. Thanks for help

  We have an application which communicates via REST requests made by clients. The REST requests contain "region name" and a "ID" as parameters So, a request would look something like this (for a DELETE) http://host:port/regionnameID These REST requests between regions in a federation are properly URL encoded I find that these request fail if the region name has a slash ("/") in it. Then, the request would look like so http://host:port/region/nameID This is due to incorrect interpretation of the Rest URL by HttpRequesthandler when there is a '/' in the region name. Now, we have no control over clients sending REST request with "/" in the Region name. Is there any method / configuration / workaround that can be done to prevent the HttpRequestHandler from returning 404

  I'm trying to programmatically create a parameter block for a function ( along the lines of this blog post ). I'm starting with a CommandMetadata object (from an existing function). I can create the ParameterMetadata object and set things like the ParameterType, the name, as well as some attributes. The problem I'm running into is that when I use the GetParamBlock method of the ProxyCommand class, none of my attributes that I set in the Attributes collection of the ParameterMetadata are generated. The problem this causes is that when the GetParamBlock is called, the new parameter is not annotated with the appropriate Parameter attribute.   I am writing a sql query creator using some parameters. While doing that ,I came across this problem. In java , Its very easy to detect the last element of an array from inside the for loop by just checking the current array position with the array length. for(int i=0; i< arr.length;i++){ boolean isLastElem = i== (arr.length -1) ? true : false; } php has some different fashion. They have non integer indexes to access arrays. So you must iterate over an array using foreach loop. But it becomes very problematic when you need to take some decision (in my case to append or/and parameter while building query). I am sure there must be some standard way of doing this. How do you solve this problem normally in php ?

Check.IsNotNull($param$, "$param$"); - Suggest Parameter - #1 I can now null check the function paramters one by one. But I want to be able to null check all the paramters at once through a template. Is it Possible in Resharper?. Is there someting like a "$Foreach" using which I can loop through parameter variables and write the code to check them one by one ?.   I have a few questions about the Android browser download manager . Does it support multiple downloads at the same time? From the code it looks like it does. What's advantage of using HTTPRequest over URL/URLConnection to download files? 3.The download manager opens and closes connection for each download. Is it the right thing to do? Or is it better to use the same connection for for all the download requests(by changing the required parameters) and then clse the connection?

The problem however is that I can't find the correct parameter type to supply the Type.GetMethod(string, Type[]) method with.   Hi, I' m implementing a custom STL map. I need to make sure that any data type (basic or user defined) key will work with it. I declared the Map class as a template which has two parameters for the key and the value. My question is if I need to use a string as the key type, how can I overload the < and operators for string type keys only?? In template specialization we have to specialize the whole class with the type we need as I understand it. Is there any way I can do this in a better way?? What if I add a separate Key class and use it as the template type for Key? Thank You!!

  Hello, we have application where database contains large parts of business logic in triggers, with a update subsequently firing triggers on several other tables. I want to refactor the mess and wanted to start by extracting procedures from triggers, but can't find any reliable tool to do this. Using "Extract procedure" in both SQL Developer and Toad failed to properly handle :new and :old trigger variables. If you had similar problem with triggers, did you find a way around it?
