I am trying to setup a dev environment at home. My primary development environment is VS.NET 2008 (now it is VS 2010 Premium) with SQL Server 2008.
Objectives / Requirements :
- Should be simple and lightweight
- Should have a Visual Studio plugin (cost should be less than $50, if its not free)
- should work just fine with continuous integration systems like TFS and CruiseControl.NET
- VSS is not an option.
Thanks in advance,
SK
I just installed Delphi for PHP to get an idea on how it works and have created a simple app with a button that puts a text into a listbox when it is clicked.
The app works if I copy all required files to my webserver and run it from there.
It also works if I save the project in the standard path:
"c:\documents and settings\username\My Documents\Delphi for PHP Projects"
But if I save the project in another directory, the ButtonClick event is not fired when the application runs from there. I've put a breakpoint in the event to see if it stops there but it doesn't.
The OnShow event of the form works as usual.
It really seems to be the path where the project is located to make it either work or not.
As I said, I have no experience with Delphi for PHP so far, it is probably just a simple solution that I don't see...

When using an XmlDataSource is there good way to handle exceptions that are caused when the remote XML file is unavailable? I'm somewhat new to .NET and using C#.
Instead of populating the BitmapData class from an IMAGE. I would like to (within Actionscript) GENERATE some new BitmapData by capturing the Bitmap representing say, a TextArea component on the stage.
In other words, sort of take a "screen capture" or "screenshot" of one of the components, and convert that into an image. Am I silly to even wonder if such a thing is feasible? Can an Air/Flex app "look at itself" in this way? Can it turn a datagrid or a canvas or a textinput into the corresponding image AS IF via screen capture?
Even a hint in the right direction would be appreciated,
Thanks In Advance.
I'm used to press shift+F7 to switch between my code behind and the designer (which takes between 1 and 5 seconds to load) then I always have to click on View Xaml to modify my XAML code.
I don't find any shortcut in Tools/Options/Keyboard to go directly (from code behind to XAML code). How can I do that ?
I added some new functionality in C and when I try to build it, it gives me the following error:
libnativehelper/include/nativehelper/JNIHelp.h:116: error: undefined reference to 'jniRegisterNativeMethods' error.
I have included jnihelp.h in my C files.
Is this a makefile related issue or am I missing something?
LOCAL_PATH := $(call my-dir)
include $(CLEAR_VARS)
LOCAL_MODULE_TAGS := optional
LOCAL_MODULE := newfile
LOCAL_SRC_FILES := newfile.cpp
include $(BUILD_SHARED_LIBRARY)
I need to load controllers and models from a different folder than the default one. I am using a Linux system.
I am building a simple CI application for some people, for use on a shared hosting I own. But I want to give them access only to /views folder and some /config files. And this is why I need to store the controllers and models in a different folder on the same level as /public_html folder or maybe somewhere in the linux system.
I consider this would be a better solution than encoding files
Hello,
I am interested in a complex, mature and admin friendly cms. I am also searching the one with most extensions, packages, add-ons ...
I found these to be the most popular: alfresco, drupal, ez, joomla, dotcms, plone ...
Can you help me find the one I am looking for ? (dotcms and drupal are on my mind now)
Thank you.
I am building something similar to Server Explorer for Apache CouchDB. One of the things necessary is to be able to edit CouchDB view definitions which in CouchDB are JavaScript functions.
How can I trick Visual Studio into using my object to retrieve and save the content of the JavaScript function but still use the rest of it - I am happy with editor itself and have no intention of writing my own Editor/Language Service, etc. The latter would be much bigger effort than what this project warrants
Edit
After more digging I am still stuck. Here is what I know: IVsUIShellOpenDocument interface provides a method OpenStandardEditor which can be used to open the standard Visual Studio editor. As one of the parameters this method takes a Pointer to the IUnknown interface of the document data object. This object is supposed to implement several interfaces described in many places all over the MSDN.
Visual Studio SDK also provides a 'sample' implementation of the document data object VsTextBufferClass. I can create an instance of this class and when I pass the pointer to the instance to the OpenStandardEditor I can see my editor and it seems to work ok.
When I try to implement my own class implementing the same interfaces (IVsTextBuffer, VsTextBuffer, IVsTextLines) OpenStandardEditor method returns success, but VS bombs out on call editor.Show() with an access violation.
My suspicion is that VsTextBufferClass also implements some other interface(s) but not in C# way but rather in the good old COM way. I just do not know which one(s).
Any thoughts?
I'm using FreeMarker to generate java code, but as most of it is dynamically generated it's difficult to control the code formation.
I want to get code well formatted. Does anyone knows a lib or something like a pretty printer for java code?
I have quite a few objects in my system that implement the PHP SPL Iterator interface.
As I write them I also write tests.
I know that writing tests is generally NOT a cut 'n paste job.
But, when it comes to testing classes that implement Standard PHP Library interfaces, surely it makes sense to have a few script snippets that can be borrowed and dropped in to a Test class - purely to test that particular interface.
It seems sensible to have these publicly available. So, I was wondering if you knew of any?
I am trying to patch dmenu with the files provided here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=27334
I do not know how to do it, I've read that I should do patch file-to-patch the-path, but in the patch provided there is more than one file involved. I've tried patching manually but I failed, it will not compile.
Hi Everyone! I have some javascript which runs a timer that animates something on the website.
It all works perfectly but I want to get an image to change when the animation is run, It uses jquery:
if(options.auto && dir=="next" && !clicked)
{
timeout = setTimeout(function(){
if (document.images['bullet1'].src == "img/bulletwhite.png")
{
document.images['bullet1'].src = "img/bullet.png";
document.images['bullet2'].src = "img/bulletwhite.png";
}
animate("next",false);
},diff*options.speed+options.pause);
}
options.auto means that its automatically cycling, dir is the direction of the motion and clicked is whether or not the user clicked it.
Is there something wrong with my syntax here? I ran firebug with it, and it doesn't throw any errors, it simply won't work. Any advice would help!
I should mention that the src of bullet1 starts at bulletwhite.png and then I was hoping for it to change to bullet.png and have bullet2 change to bulletwhite.png.
My company is planning in hiring outsourcers to work for us, but concerned to give whole existing code to outside world.
What is the proper way to deal with security of sharing code in such cases?
Is it possible to restrict part of code for developers? So each of them could work on their project without having access to whole repository.
P.S. The code we have is very integrated, and its hard to extract "one module", each module can use files from different locations.
Thanks in advance
Basically I want to take the following:
And make it match the styling of the rest of the application.
I am creating a custom error page in my C# based project and I want it to be able to show the same information that is displayed in the ASP.NET default error page. From fiddling with reflector I can see that this is generated through HttpException.GetHtmlErrorMessage() but when I try to use this in my exception it returns null.
While editing HTML/ASPX/ASCX etc; whenever I select an html tag, visual studio highlights the entire tag in black and bold; the black I'm not so fussed about but the bold changes the length of the line and really messes up the formatting.
Is there a way to disable this?
Thanks,
Chris
during debug mode or while i am doing testing, i need to print lost of various information, so i use this method
ifdef TESTING
// code with lots of debugging info
else
// clean code only
endif // TESTING`
Is this the good method, or is there any other simple and elegant method.
But this way, I am repating the same code in two places and if anything is to be changed later on in the code, I have to do it in both places, which is time consuming and error prone.
Thanks.
I am using MS Visual Studio.
I m working on Microsoft Visual Stdio 2005. I am working on ASP.NET. I added project to VSS. I found this project correctly, but other user can't access this. show this error message. and this web project cannot working in vss
