  • How to concatenate text on existing database entry?

    - by Starx
I have a table, whose fields are id, name, link the link holds the name of the page like "link" = "index.php". Now I want to update this field and add "page=" in front of "index.php". Using this method I would like to update every entry in my table. My desired SQL syntax need to be something like this UPDATE mytable set link= 'page=' + <existing value of link> WHERE 1; I am using 'WHERE 1;' to denote every row. Anyone know how to accomplish this?

  • Heap property of this array

    - by davit-datuashvili
From programming pearls, it is known that array[1...n] has heap property if for all 2<=i<=n x[i/2]<=x[i]. Here is my code: import java.math.*; public class Heap { public static void main(String[]args){ int x[]=new int[]{12,20,15,29,23,17,22,35,40,26,51,19}; int i=1; while (i<x.length) { if (x[Math.round(i/2)]<=x[i]) System.out.println("heap"); i++; } System.out.println("not heap"); } } Here I used Math.round because 4/2 and 5/2 is same and =2. When I compile this code it shows me at last line that it is not heap. Maybe because the index starts from 1 and we don't pay attention to index 0, yes?

  • Open Source PHP search engine

    - by Ravi Gupta
I am looking for an open source search engine plugin written in php for my website(eCommerce). Before anybody answer that I have a doubt regarding the search engine. Usually search engine crawl web pages, create indexes and then use them while looking for contents. But will the same model work for eCommerce websites? Yeah, it can crawl products pages, index them but don't you think it would be better if it crawls the database directly and index the products stored in the database? And when a user search for any product, it will simply give us the rows of the table which matches the user query? May be what I am asking is a stupid question but I am new to web development, so kindly help me to understand the concept. I have looked at a search engine called Sphider but didn't get what all I have to do to make it work with an eCommerce website.

    - by Mike

Example is: i deploy a new installation of this framework to a new client, i want the following files to be downloaded (they have default values 'CHANGEME') and i just have to make changes specific to this client IE(database credentials, email address info, custom css styling). // the production config files i want the files but they need to be updated to specific client needs application/config/production/config.php application/config/production/database.php application/config/production/tank_auth.php // index page, defines the environment (production|development) /index.php // all of the css/js cache (keep the folder but not the contents) /assets/cache/* // production user based styling (color, fonts etc) needs to be updated specific to client needs /assets/frontend/css/user/frontend-user.css currently if i run git clone [email protected]:user123/myRepo.git httpdocs and then i edit the files above, all is great.. until i release a hotfix or patch and run git pull. All of my changes are then overwritten.

  • I can't delete record in Codeigniter

    - by jomblo
I'm learning CRUD in codeigniter. I have table name "posting" and the coloumns are like this (id, title, post). I successed to create a new post (both insert into database and display in the view). But I have problem when I delete my post in the front-end. Here is my code: Model Class Post_Model extends CI_Model{ function index(){ //Here is my homepage code } function delete_post($id) { $this->db->where('id', $id); $this->db->delete('posting'); } } Controller Class Post extends CI_Controller{ function delete() { $this->load->model('Post_Model'); $this->Post_Model->delete_post("id"); redirect('Post/index/', 'refresh'); } } After click "delete" in the homepage, there was nothing happens. While I'm looking into my database, my records still available. Note: (1) to delete record, I'm following the codeigniter manual / user guide, (2) I found a message error (Undefined variable: id) after hiting the "delete" button in the front-end Any help or suggestion, please

  • mod_rewrite rule for all urls except ones with some words

    - by zlog
How do I write a mod_rewrite regulare expression rule that is the opposite of this: ^(.+)/path/(page1|page2)+$ ie, I want all pages except blah/path/page1 and blah/path/page2 to redirect to another path, where the x in blah/path/x is used in the new path. For example, I'd like write a rewrite rule like: RewriteRule some_regex /index.php?path/show/$1 [L] where some_regex would pull out the last component of a url in the format: /something/path/some_param to redirect to /index.php/path/show/some_param I'm trying to use ! and [^] syntax, but I don't quite understand how these work, especially when they involve words not single characters.

  • ftp connects but files aren't visible browsing

    - by YsoL8
Hello If this should be on that other site, please don't shoot me, as I can't remember the name or the url. I have an ftp account in Dreamweaver that connects to the remote site and appears to be uploading files as normal. But when I browse to the location I can't see any new files or changes to the index page. (I've uploaded index.php and connect.php). I'm getting a 404 page. I suspect the host directory is wrong, but looking at the file tree, I can't see the folder I'm supposed to be using, so I'm uploading to the apparent site root. Any guidance on this?

  • javascript not loading after output of PHP file_get_contents() string

    - by mives
I have the following structure: -uploadpage.html -index.php -resources -jquery.1.4.2.min.js On my index.php, I get the contents then output uploadpage.html through this code: $output = file_get_contents("uploadpage.html"); echo $output; My upload.html has the javascript at the bottom: <script type="text/javscript" src="./resources/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function() { callSomething(); } ); function callSomething() {return true;} </script> However this results in an error "$ is not defined" which means that the jquery js file is not loaded. Any ideas?

  • Kohana 3 - How do I make the Default Route pass arguments to the Controller's Action?

    - by John Himmelman
    My controller action requires a parameter, but I can't get KO3's router to pass this parameter in the Default route. This sort of thing works with other routes. Here is an example to clarify... In bootstrap.php... Route::set('default', '(<controller>(/<action>(/<the_required_param>)))') ->defaults(array( 'controller' => 'DefaultController', 'action' => 'index', 'the_required_param' => 'some_default_value', )); In controller file... class DefaultController extends Controller { public function index($the_required_param) { echo 'value: ' . $the_required_param; } }

  • .htaccess: RewriteCond syntax?

    - by Rosarch
I'm using Drupal 6. Typically, when the user requests a URL for which Drupal has no response, it uses index.php as the error document. However, I'd like to suspend this behavior for a specific URL. How can I do this? RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !=fail RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !=/favicon.ico RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA] Where "fail" is the path I want to block. So www.example.com/fail should result in a 404. Incidentally, what does [L, QSA] do? I've looked at documentation without luck.

  • Integrate Lucene or any other search product with SQL server 2005

    - by HBACHARYA
Hi, I need to use full text search with SQL server 2005 and I have explored its inbuilt search approach (SQL server full text indexing) but it seems less powerful. I have also looked features of Lucene. Now my questions: Is is possible to integrate lucene and SQL server in anyway? 1. Can my T-Sql queries use Lucene index for returning results? (May be uses CLR based function internally) 2. How to update Lucene index while data in the tables are getting updated 3. What can be overall architecutre? 4. Are there any commercial products avaliable which provides this kind of support? Thanks, HB

  • Beginner servlet question: accessing files in a .war, which path?

    - by Navigateur
When a third-party library I'm using tries to access a file, I'm getting "Error opening ... file ... (No such file or directory)" even though I KNOW the file is in the WAR. I've tried both packaged (.war) and "exploded" (directory) deployment, and the file is definitely there. I've tried setting full permissions on it too. It's on Unix (Ubuntu). File is war/dict/index.sense and the error is "dict/index.sense (No such file or directory)". It works fine on my Windows computer when running in hosted mode as a GWT app from Eclipse, just not when I transfer it to the Unix machine for deployment. My question is: has anybody experienced this before and/or are there differences in relative path that I should consider i.e. what's the root path for relative file access in a war?

  • Use jQuery on a variable instead on the DOM ? [solved]

    - by Stef
In jQuery you can do : $("a[href$='.img']").each(function(index) { alert($(this).attr('href')); } I want to write a jQuery function which crawls x-levels from a website and collects all hrefs to gif images. So when I use the the get function to retrieve another page, $.get(href, function(data) { }); I want to be able to do something like data.$("a[href$='.img']").each(function(index) { }); Is this possible ? ...UPDATE... Thanks to the answers, I was able to fix this problem. function FetchPage(href) { $.ajax({ url: href, async: false, cache: false, success: function(html){ $("#__tmp__").append("<page><name>" + href + "</name><content>" + html + "</content></page>"); } }); } See this zip file for an example how to use it.

I have a a mysql db with myisam engine. Along with many other table I have this table "et" which has around 8137037 records. • Simple question about javascript history.go

    - by Camran
I have a classifieds website. In every classified, there is a back link which simply takes the browser back one step. This is because when users search classifieds, and click on one to view it, they can easily go back with a link also (instead of only the browser back button). Here is the problem, if the classified is entered directly into the adress bar of a browser, or if somebody bookmarked a classified, then this back-link would take them someplace else... Is there any way of making sure that the previous page is a certain page (index.php in my case)? This way I would only display the back link if the previous page was index.php... Thanks

  • [AS 3.0] How to use the string.match method to find multiple occurrences of the same word in a strin

    - by Steven
In Actionscript and Adobe Flex, I'm using a pattern and regexp (with the global flag) with the string.match method and it works how I'd like except when the match returns multiple occurrences of the same word in the text. In that case, all the matches for that word point only to the index for the first occurrence of that word. For example, if the text is "cat dog cat cat cow" and the pattern is a search for cat*, the match method returns an array of three occurrences of "cat", however, they all point to only the index of the first occurrence of cat when i use indexOf on a loop through the array. I'm assuming this is just how the string.match method is (although please let me know if i'm doing something wrong or missing something!). I want to find the specific indices of every occurrence of a match, even if it is of a word that was already previously matched. I'm wondering if that is just how the string.match method is and if so, if anyone has any idea what the best way to do this would be. Thanks.

  • How can code in a JavaScript file get the file's URL?

    - by dalbaeb
I need to dynamically load a CSS stylesheet into a page that's on a different domain. How can I get the complete URL of the JS file to use in the href attribute of the stylesheet? For instance, here is the structure: http://bla.com/js/script.js http://bla.com/css/style.css I want to dynamically load the stylesheet into a page http://boo.net/index.html. The problem is, I don't know the bla.com bit in advance, just the fact that the stylesheet is in ../css/ relative to the JS file. The script is, of course, included on index.html. jQuery's fine too.

  • JS Split ( ) to check if substring exists in Array

    - by Javacadabra
I have an array of products that are stored as Strings in this format productname:quantity. The issue I am running into is that if a user adds one product with a quantity of x it is inserted into the array as it should. However, if they then decide to add more of a particular product a new entry is made into the array instead of checking if the product already exists and adjusting the quantity to the new value. oldQty + newQty. For example this is my array: ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:1"] If I add another PALLET CARDS product it creates a new entry rather than updating the quantity of the existing item to 2. New array ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:1","PALLET CARDS:1"] I would like the array to end up like this: - updating the quantity ["CBL202659/A:1","OUTER9:1","PALLET CARDS:2"] Currently this is my code: I use the split() method to seperate the String where a colon occurs and store the product name and quantity in two seperate variables. $(".orderBtn").click(function(event){ //Show the order Box $(".order-alert").show(); event.preventDefault(); //Create the Array var productArray = []; //Get reference to the product clicked var stockCode = $(this).closest('li').find('.stock_code').html(); //Get reference to the quantity selected var quantity = $(this).closest('li').find('.order_amount').val(); var item = stockCode + ":" + quantity; var itemCheck = stockCode + ":"; if(quantity == 0){ console.log("Quantity must be greater than 0") }else{ //If no Cookie exists, create one and add the Array if ($.cookie('order_cookie') === undefined) { console.log("CREATE NEW COOKIE"); //Add items to Array productArray.push(item); //Add Array to Cookie $.cookie('order_cookie', JSON.stringify(productArray), { expires: 1, path: '/' }); //If the Cookie already exists do this } else { productArray = JSON.parse($.cookie('order_cookie'));//get ref to array if(productArray.indexOf(itemCheck)!= -1){//It exists so update qty console.log("EXISTS... updating item: " + itemCheck); //var index = productArray.indexOf(item); //var update = productArray[index].split(":"); //var name = update[0]; //var oldQty = update[1]; //console.log(name + ":" + oldQty); //productArray[index] = item; }else{//It does not exist, so add to array console.log("Does not exist... adding new item: " + item); //Append items onto the Array productArray.push(item); } //Update the Cookie $.cookie('order_cookie', JSON.stringify(productArray), { expires: 1, path: '/' }); console.log($.cookie('order_cookie')); } //Display the number of items in the Array in the Order Box $('#order_counter').html(productArray.length); } }); I suppose the real question I am asking here, is if it is possible to search the array for a subString - containing productname: ??

  • Best way to have unique key over 500M varchar(255) records in mysql/innodb?

    - by taw
I have url column with unique key over it - but its performance on updates is absolutely atrocious. I suspect that's because the index doesn't all fit in memory. So I was thinking, how about adding a column of md5(url) with 16 bytes of binary data and unique-keying that instead. What would be the best datatype for that? I'd love to be able to just see 32-character hex hash, while mysql would convert it to/from 16 binary bytes and index that, as programs using the database might have some troubles with arbitrary binary data that I'd rather avoid if possible (also I'm a bit afraid that mysql might get some strange ideas about character sets and for example overalocating storage for that by 3:1 because it thinks it might need utf8, how do I avoid that for cure?).

  • MySQL, PHP, and Apache errors while connecting to DB

    - by cypherdelton
I'm having two errors when I test the "mysql_connect()" function in php. I just installed PHP and MySQL from scratch. These errors may be related, so I will post them both here: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Headers and client library minor version mismatch. Headers:50158 Library:50518 in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/index.php on line 6 Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/index.php on line 6 Many websites say to start the mysql server if you are getting error #2. Whenever I execute the command mysqld start --user=mysql I get the error "mysqld: Too many arguments (first extra is 'start'); Adding the "&" to the end of the command makes no difference (I don't know if it is supposed to). Thanks, Cypher Delton

  • ruby on rails sub directory inside in the 'Views' main directory

    - by Kum
Hello, am a newbie in ruby on rails and am stuck with a simple problem of routing. I have my controller 'sub' and the 'Views' folder containing the add, edit, new erb files. In my routes file, i have 'map.resources :subs'. Until now, everything is fine. Problem: I moved the add, edit, new erb files into a subfolder called 'admin' inside the 'Views' main directory. I have no idea how to call those erb files from that 'admin' subdir. By default, it is looking for /app/views/subs/index.html.erb, and i want it to look in /app/views/subs/admin/index.html.erb Please can anyone tell me how to do this. Many many thanks

  • Python: Picking an element without replacement

    - by wpeters
I would like to slice random letters from a string. Given s="howdy" I would like to pick elements from 's' without replacement but keep the index number. For example >>> random.sample(s,len(s)) ['w', 'h', 'o', 'd', 'y'] is close to what I want, but I would actually prefer something like [('w',2), ('h',0), ('o',1), ('d',3), ('y',4)] with letter-index pairs. This is important because the same letter appears in 's' more than once. ie) "letter" where 't' appears twice but I need to distinguish the first 't' from the 'second'. Ideally I actually only need to pick letters as I need them but scrambling and calculating all the letters in a list (as shown above) is ok.
