  • firefox addon f@stestfox API sending/collecting data?

    - by Richard
System: ubuntu64/firefox24.0 object: addon "f@stestfox". Its a nice in-browser search tool and more. Problematic: is the way the program handles the search queries. when I use a search shortcut, burpsuite says: request to msgs.smarterfox.com: 80 GET /log_msg?name=popup_bubble_searched&search_engine_title=Search%20Startpage&source=FastestFox&redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fstartpage.com%2Fdo%2Fsearch%3Fcmd%3Dprocess_search%26cat%3Dweb%26query%3Dnginx%26language%3Denglish%26no_sugg%3D1%26ff%3D%26abp%3D-1&rand=856827465 HTTP/1.1 Host: msgs.smarterfox.com User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,/;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate DNT: 1 Connection: keep-alive once I saw a unique identifier (installation time?) was send with the request to the server. Am I right, that the addon sends the website I am looking at to the server? Sometimes I only mark text(ip adress or link) and the addon send this data? seriosly? I did: search for the url in the code, but I dont speak java. And I am not sure, if the data from the request can actually be used for tracking :) question: I want the awesome features of the addon, without connecting to their server: marked text should be send only to the searchmachines. what should I do next? thank you.

  • How do I backup Firefox add-on like "Fastdial" addon for a reinstall?

    - by danacon
I am doing a new install of Firefox and over the years my Windows "roaming folder" I use for backup has gotten all clogged up from so many add-ons and crap... I want to backup just a couple Firefox add-on's, one is "Fast dial" How do I backup this add-on and its addresses for when I reinstall Firefox and the add-on, so It will go back to where it is now? Most add-on's have a backup feature like "too many tabs" bookmarks and such but fast dial doesn't? so How do I backup this add-on? and /or addons like it without a backup feature? Thanks in advance any help or options would be a big help. Dana

  • Firefox addon for quick adding of rss feeds to thunderbird needed.

    - by alehro
Actually the matter grown from SE using. It's quite bothering to: right click on rss link, choose "copy", then swich to tunderbird, right click on rss folder, choose "subscribe", push "Add", insert, ok. I'd prefer to: right click on rss link and choose the rss folder. The second motive for the question is that I'd like to look at implementation of interprocess manipulation of thunderbird. May be there is not exactly but something similar exist.

  • Firefox Addon to follow links by keyboard?

    - by Marten Veldthuis
I like the "Hit-a-hint like navigation of links (start with f to follow a link)" feature of vimperator, but using that addon breaks some sites for me. And though I use Vim as an editor, I don't really need it in my browser. Does anyone know of a Firefox Addon that does just that hit-a-hint like navigation?

  • Recommendation for PCI SATA addon card?

    - by edmicman
I have a couple of dead PCs from my wife's office that have working SATA HDDs. Sorry, I don't know if they're SATA I or II, just that they're SATA. Unfortunately, all my spare hardware at home is pretty old; all I have is IDE support. I was thinking I could get a PCI addon card on the cheap that would support SATA and put together a budget server of sorts to play with and be able to use those drives. So I've got a couple questions: After some searching it looks like I can get an addon card for ~20 bucks, but it looks like they're all SATA I? Would that matter? It looks like going to SATAII bumps the price up to $40-$60 or so. Are there any recommendations on a card to get?

  • "Task Manager" addon for Firefox?

    - by eidylon
Hello all... I'm wondering if there is an addon for Firefox that would basically replicate the performance monitoring of Task Manager in Windows - seeing memory and cpu used - but for all the tabs in your current Firefox session. I want to be able to see which tabs are taking up the most memory or hitting hardest on the CPU. Thanks in advance!

  • Firefox addon (for firefox 3.5) to monitor web usage

    - by 2meaning
I am looking for a firefox addon that would tell me where I have spent how much time browsing. I came across quite a few addons but they are either not supported in 3.5 or they are no longer supported or cannot be installed. I work on ubuntu linux (9.04) and Shiretoko (Firefox 3.5). I need a solution for this environment. I need stats like Website Time spent (hh:mm) % (day) % (week) %(month) www.stackoverflow.com 20:00 90 xx yy www.google.com 1:35 x www.theserverside.com 80:23 x www.facebook.com 200:30 x

  • firefox extension security issue

    - by rep_movsd
I'm writing a firefox addon that logs certain user activity and displays some statistics on a webpage. When the page is opened, the page sends an event to the addon. The addon adds data to the page and sends an event back, and the page refreshes the statistics. Now how do I ensure that the extension only puts the (sensitive) data on the right page and not some other malicious one? Thanks V

  • Firefox addon that redirects broken link or bad-addresses to Google [closed]

    - by infant programmer
I want Firefox to redirect bad and broken links to Google search instead of the "Can't find the server" page. If it takes an add-on, that's okay. When you enter a bad or broken link in Google Chrome, the browser takes you to a search results page with all possibly relevant links to the request attempted. Please don't suggest the search-tool-bar, I am aware of it. And it's not really significant in this scenario.
