  • Help setting up NSD daemon (DNS server)

    While searching for a secure dns server I came across the NSD project. I was really impressed by what seemed to me the best option out there that's open source. One problem thought their 'tutorial' is really not beginner friendly. I have basic DNS knoledge but what's in there is out of my league. I need to have multiple sites on this CentOS server I've recently got my hands on. They also need to receive email. Details: I have a master host and would love to set this in the way described in the rows that follow: masterhost.com -> ns1.masterhost.com mail.masterhost.com www.masterhost.com addonhost.com -> ns1.masterhost.com mail.masterhost.com www.addonhost.com And so on. Any help in setting up this DNS server please? All answers and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you in advance.

    So, graphics cards have a ROM that you can export in GPU-Z (GPU-Z: An example of an application that will perform this task). Is it at all possible to find out what the specification is for a GPU ROM? I have an issue with one of my cards and would like to add a GOP partition to it in order to enable secure boot and remove the annoying watermark in Windows 8.1 about secure boot not being configured correctly.

  • Recover Intel Matrix Raid Configuration

    Hello, I had 2 HDDs in Intel Matrix Raid configuration on a motherboard with intel ICH9R. I had some RAID 0 partitions and one RAID 1 partition. Somehow when replacing my videocard I partially unpulugged the power connector from one of the HDD. I booted and only one disk was showing. So I turned off the PC and correctly plugged the power connector and how both HDDs are showing as "Non-Raid Disk" Is there a way to restore the raid configuration from before ? In fact I don't really remember how my partitions where configured, I had 2x100Gb + 1x296Gb in RAID 0 and one 50Gb in RAID 1 (using 2x320Gb HDDs) but I'm not sure how many volumes and how the partitions where allocated on the volumes. Is there a tool to find that ? Thanks

  • Windows 8 to 8.1 Pro Upgrade SecureBoot Error

    I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. I have an Alienware Aurora R4 with the latest BIOS firmware version, A09. Ever since I did the upgrade, I get a watermark on my desktop saying, "SecureBoot isn't configured correctly"...I would like to get rid of this watermark the correct way (not by hacking system DLLs). My BIOS shows me booting in UEFI mode, and I see that SecureBoot is actually disabled from there. I cannot enable SecureBoot, in either UEFI mode or Legacy Boot mode. Note, I can't even get Legacy Boot mode working without re-formatting my system which I really don't plan on doing, so my question is this...what has changed in the way Windows handles SecureBoot? As far as I can tell, I do not have SecureBoot enabled, and it is trying to tell me that it isn't configured correctly. Why does it even care to check if my BIOS doesn't have it on anyways?! Its so frustrating!

  • DX9 Deferred Rendering, GBuffer displays as clear color only

    I'm trying to implement Catalin Zima's Deferred Renderer in a very lightweight c++ DirectX 9 app (only renders a skydome and a model), at this moment I'm trying to render the gbuffer, but I'm having a problem, the screen shows only the clear color, no matter how much I move the camera around. However, removing all the render target operations lets the app render the scene normally, even if the models are being applied the renderGBuffer effect. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

    I'm using NHibernate with SQL Server 2005 in a WPF client application. If I stop the SQL Server service and then restart it the session doesn't automatically reconnect.     I moved the styles and templates xaml files form my application (.exe) project to a library project (.dll) because I want to use them in multiple applications. In App.xaml I have: <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="pack://application:,,,/MyApplication.Common;component/Resources/All.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> In All.xaml (in the Common assembly) : <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="Styles.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="Templates.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="Converters.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> With this code keyless styles in Styles.xaml aren't applied.   • Stack and Hash joint

    I'm trying to write a data structure which is a combination of Stack and HashSet with fast push/pop/membership (I'm looking for constant time operations). Think of Python's OrderedDict. I tried a few things and I came up with the following code: HashInt and SetInt. I need to add some documentation to the source, but basically I use a hash with linear probing to store indices in a vector of the keys. Since linear probing always puts the last element at the end of a continuous range of already filled cells, pop() can be implemented very easy without a sophisticated remove operation. I have the following problems: the data structure consumes a lot of memory (some improvement is obvious: stackKeys is larger than needed). some operations are slower than if I have used fastutil (eg: pop(), even push() in some scenarios). I tried rewriting the classes using fastutil and trove4j, but the overall speed of my application halved. What performance improvements would you suggest for my code? What open-source library/code do you know that I can try?

I used the Arrays.asList() but the behavior (and signature) somehow changed from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0 and most snippets I found on the web use the 1.4.2 behaviour. For example: int[] spam = new int[] { 1, 2, 3 }; Arrays.asList(spam) on 1.4.2 returns a list containing the elements 1, 2, 3 on 1.5.0 returns a list containing the array spam In many cases it should be easy to detect, but sometimes it can slip unnoticed: Assert.assertTrue(Arrays.asList(spam).indexOf(4) == -1);

    I'm using NUnit to test View Models in a WPF 3.5 application and I'm using the BackgroundWorker class to execute asynchronous commands.The unit test are running fine with the NUnit runner or ReSharper runner but fail on TeamCity 5.1 server. How is it implemented : I'm using a ViewModel property named IsBusy and set it to false on BackgroundWorker.RunWorkerCompleted event.     I am trying to write a program in Java using ExecutorService and it's function invokeAll. My question is: does the invokeAll functions solve the tasks simultaneously? I mean, if i have two processors, there will be two workers in the same time? Because a can't make it to scale correct. It takes the same time to complete the problem if i give newFixedThreadPool(2) or 1. List<Future<PartialSolution>> list = new ArrayList<Future<PartialSolution>>(); Collection<Callable<PartialSolution>> tasks = new ArrayList<Callable<PartialSolution>>(); for(PartialSolution ps : wp) { tasks.add(new Map(ps, keyWords)); } list = executor.invokeAll(tasks); Map is a class that implements Callable and wp is a vector of Partial Solutions, a class that holds some informations in different times. The behaviour of the following code: channel.exec_command('cat') with open('mumu', 'r') as f: text = f.read() nbytes = 0 while nbytes < len(text): sent = channel.send(text[nbytes:]) if sent == 0: break nbytes += sent should be equivalent to (assuming public-key authentication): ssh user@host cat < mumu However the application hangs waiting for more input. I think this happens because the stdin stream is never closed. How do I do that?

  • Strange problem with vectors.

    I have a really strange problem with stl vectors in which the wrong destructor is called for the right object when I call the erase method if that makes any sense. My code looks something like this: for(vector<Category>::iterator iter = this->children.begin(); iter != this->children.end(); iter++) { if((*iter).item == item) { this->children.erase(iter); return; } ------------------------- } It's just a simple function that finds the element in the vector which has some item to be searched, and removes said element from the vector. My problem is than when the erase function is called, and thus the object which the iterator is pointing at is being destroyed, the wrong destructor is being called. More specific the destructor of the last element in the vector is being called, and not of the actual object being removed. Thus the memory is being removed from the wrong object, which will still be an element in the vector, and the actual object which is removed from the vector, still has all of it's memory intact. The costructor of the object looks like this: Category::Category(const Category &from) { this->name = from.name; for(vector<Category>::const_iterator iter = from.children.begin(); iter != from.children.end(); iter++) this->children.push_back((*iter)); this->item = new QTreeWidgetItem; } And the destructor Category::~Category() { this->children.clear(); if(this->item != NULL) { QTreeWidgetItem* parent = this->item->parent(); if(parent != NULL) parent->removeChild(this->item); delete this->item; } }
