Soon we got some theme plugin  which make us able to modify the look of visual studio.   http://studiostyl.es/ already provide lots of wonderful color scheme that make you able to modify the theme. These themes are also work in webmatrix 2.  Webmatrix 2 have a plugin for themes that is made by Yishai Galatzer that is awesome for webmatrix 2.   In Visual studio 2012 we got a native dark mode. This means we can configure it without any plugin or requirement of anything. In this post I have a demo to show you how to use Dark mode that is part of Windows 7 (and windows 8 too).   Few months ago I show a problem that webmatrix 2 run slow. it’s run better in windows 7 dark mode. Windows 7 dark mode simply refer to right click > personalize > High contrast theme in bottom of windows. This setting make thing a little bit faster.   When you have set this you have seen that Visual studio doesn’t react good anymore because it’s color scheme is broken now. What you need now is import any theme from http://studiostyl.es/ When you import this this will look good as this.   This is the demo look of Windows 7 phone Express 2010. It will react same for future version as 2012, 2013. Now see your VS react look dark. Everything is dark now. Your Firefox and IE will not run totally in blackish mode but you can use chrome. Chrome have less effect of dark. Now if you benchmark it then you will feel that everything that take a long time in loading now run fast.   Note :- This is experiments. In XP, Win7 (Win8 have this too, not removed) just select the file right click > send to and you can send this file to many places. In my menu it’s show me Skype because I have installed it. this skype confirm that we can add our own app here to make it more easy for user to send file in our app. Nowadays Many people use Cloud or online site to store the file. In case of html5 drag and drop you need to have site opened and have opened that page which is about file upload. You need to select all  and drag and drop. after drag and drop file is simply uploaded to server and site show you on list (if no error happen). but this file upload is seriously not worthy since I have to open the site when I do this operation.   Through this post I want to describe a feature that can make this thing better.  This API is simply called SASS FILE UPLOAD API Through This API when you surf the site and come into file upload page then the page will tell you that we also have SASS FILE API support. Enable it for better result.   How this work This API feature are activated on 2 basis. 1. Feature are disabled by default on site (or you can change it if it’s not) 2. This API allow specific site to upload the files. Files upload may have some rule. For example (minimum or maximum size of file to uploaded, which format the site allowed you to upload). In case of resume site you will be allowed to use .doc (according to code of site)   How browser recognize that Site have SASS service. In HTML source of  the site, the code have a meta tag similar to this <meta name=”sass-upload-api” path=”/upload.json”/> Remember that upload.json is one file that has define the value of many settings {   "cookie_name": "ck_file",   "maximum_allowed_perday": 24,   "allowed_file_extensions","*.png,*.jpg,*.jpeg,*.gif",   "method": [       {           "get": "file/get",           "routing":"/file/get/{fileName}"       },       {           "post": "file/post",           "routing":"/file/post/{fileName}"       },       {           "delete": "file/delete",           "routing":"/file/delete/{fileName}"       },         {           "put": "file/put",           "routing":"/file/put/{fileName}"       },        {           "all": "file/all",           "routing":"/file/all/{fileName}"       }    ] } cookie name is simply a cookie which should be stored in browser and define in json. we define the cookie_name so we can easily share then with service in Windows system. This cookie will be accessible with the service so it’s security based safe. other cookie will not be shared.   The cookie will be post,put, get from this location. The all location will be simply about showing a whole list of file. This will gave a treeview kind of json to show the directories on sever.   for example example.com if you have activated the API with this site then you will seen a send to option in your explorer.exe when you send you will got a windows open which folder you want to use to send the file. The windows will also describe the limit and how much you can upload. This thing never required site to opened. When you upload the file this will be uploaded through FTP protocol. FTP protocol are better for performance.   How this API make thing faster. Suppose you want to ask a question and want to post image. you just do it and get it ready when you open stackoverflow.com now stackoverflow will only tell you which file you want to put on your current question that you asking for. second use is about people use cloud app.   There is no need of drag and drop anymore. we just need to do it without drag and drop it. we doesn’t need to open the site either. This thing is still in experiment level. I will update this post when I got some progress on this API.

• Are IE9 really good ?

  IE9 started a campaign for kill IE6 from the core because they know that IE6 is a big trouble or  problem for them for promote 9 version of IE. so they started a campaign for killing IE6. next time they kill IE 7 , 8,9 whenever they found this old version have a big problem for them to promote next version of IE.   Why they not make a update system who automatically update the browser and tell user to restart and update goes installed in the user system. well IE9 should learn from all other that they have very well design auto-update system who never give user in trouble that your browser goes old. Chrome and Firefox both update themselves and say user restart to enjoy another good version. in IE6 a big problem is that updates. no one sure that they installed new version of IE6 without any hassles and update goes install without any problem because they really know or care about “you need this to install this and this for this” so they thing “why I update IE whenever I am unsure that my browser goes update and I have no problem again” so they do nothing because their work done with no problem because common person used high profile application who work even in IE6. so they do nothing.    IE6 countdown website have designed a banner for warn or force user to upgrade to next version of IE. well there is no good reason for put the banner on website some of reason are:-   Windows 7 comes with pre-installed IE8 and Vista comes with upgrade version them IE6 so that is sure that you force a user who have Windows XP [luna] and if they want to upgrade IE then they can get IE8 not version 9 because IE9 is design for Windows 7 or Vista Service pack 2. so What is the use of update when user still have a outdate version too because IE8 is old version and not have any capability of HTML5 so forcing user by using the banner have no sense. I am not know why they all listed on website put the banner on their own website. it’s good that you offer user what they want instead of giving them a outdate version of IE again. My means to give a user list of browser they can try to enhance their browser experience instead of only IE.   IE9 build upon WPF and they spent more time on using WPF in IE instead of making user experience browser.  many thing is designed wrongly in IE first thing is tabs. the tabs in chrome are bigger and easily to move and same in Firefox even not have smooth tabbing. IE have same tabbing as chrome have but leak a point that it’s too small. if you really  want to move then sometime they create a problem that they going elsewhere from the current instance of IE.   Chrome have a big buttons, tabs and menu to enhance browser experience and Firefox have a good feature that you can make them bigger or small. you can put the icon for add-ons on the toolbar for easily use but IE have no relation with customization so we never can thinking about that.   When chrome provide lot’s of extensions and a  webstore for browser application and same feature in Firefox can be seen then there is no plugin in IE. really you can see their IE addons Website where no plugin listed for web development. even in the category or tag. as a response from many blog there is new for developer that new version of IE9 developer tool. well IE9 have three new tabs a blogger tell on their blog. when I trying them I found many thing but I still unable to edit the Css from the HTML tab and no plugin I found I can get to enhance IE9 web development. something more other provide never IE9 give me like personas , customization , browser extension or any other they used to tell a small thing customization  .   IE9 still have some problem with JavaScript that when I use Firefox and chrome and logout in both then my cookie is deleted but in IE it’s not done. it’s show me that IE9 still have different from other not for good thing even some bad thing too. When I trying to read a article that is written in Hindi using Unicode font I found that they show many thing misspelled. there is three Sha in Hindi but they all goes wrong in IE. the misprint thing is not that the writing  for the articles goes wrong. it’s problem or browser to rendering a font. the Firefox and chrome not give me this problem even opera render the font in italic style by decrease the font-size but all those work perfect.   in Pwn2Own the apple’s safari  and IE9 both are hacked. this is a awesome news for whose who thing that  open-source is lose in  Security and close-source is highly-secured software. well this is not a good parameter for talking about software. it’s should depend how much application tested and used. because more testing and more use of application make them better.   I  appreciate IE to making their new version 9 and good luck for them. there is a another matter that I personally found nothing on them.

  Visual studio perform faster whenever you run them in without splash. for running them without splash you need to change some setting for that. go to shortcut icon of visual studio open the properties and see the target executable the executable location something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" for x64based computer now you need to add their “ /nosplash” the exe location now goes "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" /nosplash

• Why I switch from Asana.com

When I started using it it’s make many confusion. Now I switch from it.   When I first time see I really didn’t understand how to make a private list. There is a icon on top click on it and make it private. After doing that I still not sure if this is working. There is a lot of confusion made that time. I discuss too much to figure out small small things. The UI is interesting but so hard to understand.  What I am looking for is just a list that I can hold private. I would like to share it only if I put them shared and put email address of person to hold them same list. Few days ago I see that My Win8 phone have a app that call Microsoft OneNote. The good thing of this MS app is that I can record my voice in the app. If someone want to make a list for future then he just need to say and this can be recorded.  This is awesome when you feel that Mobile keypad is just not so fast as a normal regular keyboard.   Google docs are another good option to handle this thing. Just make a word file and use it. share it with friend with many option. One best thing is this app have very simply UI then any other apps.   One more alternative is https://trello.com which you hear from joel on their blog http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2011/09/13.html There are many html5 and browser based, mobile based app. Many of them support multi platform feature. this means you can have them from PC to your Pocket. One good thing we all wanted is offline. if you are not online thing will be saved and push back to server when you will be online.   The biggest problem with some apps are they are attractive easy but hard to learn. Their one feature are not clearly defined what he does. This make frustration and confusion to user. When app are not simple to use people start stop trying to learn it. That’s all the problem I have with asana.com If you don’t want to try anything then what about Sticky Notes that is part of Windows 7. This app are still usable since you can store the text on it. If you know any good app to make a task list that provide access from tablet/mobile then put comment here. In the whole world of app there is a lot of app for doing this same thing differently.   Is IE9 a modern browser? i show you a post who compare IE as well as they compare chrome. Is IE9 a modern browser? well Are you thing that they make something bettter then thing another that what Firefox and chrome do whenever Microsoft do this. that's point that Microsoft always blast IE because they make version upon version not upon update like Firefox make 3.6.14 after 3.6.13 and chrome give update soon as possible but IE not come soon. they will thing for making 10 instead of giving update on 9. well what they tell us new. they make fool public everytime i believe they make fool public as same as today they maked for version 9 they show developer tool in 9 have three new tabs or pael are this enough. whenever  in chrome and firefox their is many plugin who make development easier IE still have a developer tool who not have enough power like Firebug in Firefox. they show performance but forget luna user [window xp] and their IE never runs on other plateform but chrome and firefox can. no customization in IE whenever chrome and firefox have uncountable plugin and addons. show features now in IE who already implemented in firefox very early. well their is no rule that static goes right every time not sure that IE and Firefox both are right in their language. their is no one predict what thing goes better in future. so well keep a thing in mind never wasted time and also thing to make task easier even you need to use sollution opensource or closesoure inside or outside MS does not matter. well everyone tell you much more then they do even IE and some other. they never tell you this thing not in IE but in another can be found they never tell you use other whenever you need a thing and never can be found in their software. you need to more beware of IE because they make them commorcial not really for public if really then why they stop wxp user to use them as well firefox and chrome never force. because they need a thing that force more then more copy of windows sale. so they thing to add a thing in window 8. the IE9 they thing to make before that they thing to make  this for windows 8. they always force user to purchase this for this. this for this. and this trick sell their software. well outside MS Mozilla and Chrome all behave better with user and their feedback. they respect user their privacy and feedback. if you not believe that how much problem you found in IE and they got solved soon as in chrome and firefox bug kill soon. because IE not opensource we need to  boycutt them secondly their is no customization then they make user task easier even with twitter and facebook.

No problem, here is a trick. when you open the doc file in Word  then select the image and right click on image and choose cut. open the Microsoft paint. paste them here. Without clicking anywhere click on crop icon on toolbar.   Now you got your image in the same size as you have in word file. Don’t worry about Image format. Microsoft paint have support for save them in PNG format.

  the installation process of MySQL on windows are very simple as other software you need just configure them and they works. but somebody after migrating their mysql server to 5.5.8 confuse that their old database is now gone but it’s not  you need to do something to get back go to C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\data the programdata folder commonly hidden in any version of windows. you find their some folder cut them all you want to recover. note that don’t copy the file mainly in data folder just like err pid or log because they are configuration file and the configuration of mysql 5.1 and 5.8 both are different after copy the folder  go to C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\data paste here the folder restart mysql and all database is now in your hands.

Environment > Document > Check the option for auto-load changes. By checking this option You can modified the file outside the VWD and VWD don’t tell you for confirmation. 2. Environment > Tabs and Windows > Preview Tab > uncheck the solution Explorer option. This option don’t show you the file when you just click on them in solution explorer. 3. Project and solutions > Check the track active item in solution explorer This option help you to easily figure out which file you working on and where it is in solution explorer . 4. text editor > all settings > word wrap > check this feature to enable word wrap 5. Text-editor > Css > formatting > check the compact rule. this option make you file smaller in size and easily to read. 6. Text-editor > html > miscellaneous > uncheck the auto ID option. Actually When you copy paste the html code Visual studio change their ID if ID is already exist. this option disable that feature. This is useful to do when we write if{} else {} statement and this is not helpful on that case. 7. Package manager > General > browse > copy the location of cache folder and in package source add them as source. This way you can use package that you have use earlier when you are offline.   here is a little trick to debug the JavaScript inside Visual studio or express edition of VWD get all included office updates  from Microsoft updates install them. enable the script debugger for IE or others inside internet explorer go to IE > internet options > advance > browsing open a website in Visual studio or express put the breakpoint in JavaScript code and run them after setting as default browser internet explorer. when the breakpoint function called he automatically show you all about the code you breakpoint. you can also change them and find the result in browser. for advance debugging their are many option already known in visual studio work same as C# debugging like Advanced Window, Local  , watch you can use all these 3 window for JavaScript debugging.

If you live offline few time you can add the this cache directory as your nuget source. For see the folder where nuget cached then just go to Tools > options > Package manager > source > Cached packages > browse. You can add this cached folder as source.     For use nuget package without Visual studio you can try this trick.   open this in your explorer C:\Users\{yourusername}\AppData\Local\NuGet\Cache Now rename the file as described here. for example bootstrap.3.0.2.nupkg to bootstrap.3.0.2.rar open the rar and see the content folder. this folder contain the assembly/library that nuget install in your project.

  this is not a exclamatory we all know about that they always postponed their time for product release. I not know what is means of it. maybe it’s trick microsoft use to make their software popular. but sometime it’s give bad impression to user. On 2009 Microsoft put a widget [ countdown ] widget for launching Visual studio 2010. who used by many MSDN blogger. Somasagar are one of them who put the widget on their blog that show “How much time after Visual studio goes released”. but after post ponding the date I not know where widget was gone. site are down who provide the widget. they use same trick they postponed their  date 20 march to 12 April to release the Visual studio. well wait something more and next time never  believe that it’s really gone to release on certain date they show you on blog.

  once upon a time i have a problem in visual studio that i declare here. they never thing what i want to say and i can't tell them clearly as they want. today i got the mail from visual studio 2010 connect that they tell me " problem can be solved in future version" that's a good thing i feel something better because anyone can't believes but i tell them many time. atleast they hear what i want to say. but i never believe on them even before that i get the new version of visual studio. means may be believe possible after the new version. because i know that they are slow slow and slow. last time i found that they tell that they launch visual studio on 20 march  but atleast they launched them on 12 april as adobe lauch their other product in creative series the link for connect is here

How to get plugin work in Firefox 4 :- if you like any plug-in who you like to use but not worked in Firefox 4 go to developer site may be they work on them so it’s chance you can get the version who is in development from developer site. because many of plugin wait for a time period for testing or making same version for all plateform like linux or mac osX. How to work with stable and Beta version [standalone] sometime we fell that it’s time wasting because something we need the beta version can’t give. so you can use Firefox 3.6.13 or Firefox 4 both by a trick. you need to install them in other directory. when you trying to install another version beware because they also override the last installation directory so you need to choose the directory where you want to get another version manually.

Firefox have not facility to stand alone installation but here is a trick to enjoy their nightly and stable version both. make a folder anywhere in your system. make two folder the name depend on your choice. in first install the Firefox Nightly and second install the current stable version 3.6.12 now the application already add to your start menu otherwise add them manually. now you can use both version nightly and stable. if you deug your web application in IDE such as visual studio or other then they force to open the default browser set in your system they open the version who you use last time. if you use last time nightly then they open your web-application in nightly otherwise in current stable version.
