  • Excel: Conditional Formatting (Highlighting) Values Based on Another Worksheet

    I have a workbook that has two worksheets. The first worksheet is simply a list of the first 78,498 prime numbers in a single column, A1-A78498. The second worksheet has a grid of numbers from 1 to n. The goal is to highlight the cells with prime numbers in the grid by referencing the prime number values in the other worksheet. Is this possible, and if so, how? edit I have named the column with my prime numbers "PRIMES1T". I would like the formula to work for the entire worksheet, regardless of size, but my excel-fu is extremely weak. If at all possible, I would like to be able to enter the formula in the dialog box for conditional formatting (as below): I have tried =NOT(ISNA(MATCH(A:Z,PRIMES1T,0) (only A-Z, but have to start somewhere) with no luck.

  • Copy Excel Formatting the Easy Way with Format Painter

    The Format Painter in Excel makes it easy to copy the formatting of a cell and apply it to another. With just a few clicks you can reproduce formatting such as fonts, alignment, text size, border, and background color. On any Excel worksheet, click on the cell with the formatting you’d like to copy.  You will see dashed lines around the selected cell. Then select the Home tab and click on the Format Painter.   You’ll see your cursor now includes a paintbrush graphic. Move to the cell where you’d like to apply the formatting and click on it. Your target cell will now have the new formatting.   If you double-clicking on Format Painter you can then click on multiple individual files to which to apply the format. Or, you can click and drag across a group of cells. When you are finished applying formats, click on Format Painter again, or on the Esc key, to turn it off. The Format Painter is a very simple, but extremely useful and time saving tool when creating complex worksheets.   • Apache2 conditional section based on port

    I don't know much about if statements in apache configuration, and I'm wondering if I can have a section of the configuration applied only if the request is received on a certain port. In short, this is about SSL. I have name based virtual hosts, I can make a configuration for port 80, then duplicate it all for port 443, and add the relevant SSL configurations. But this seems redundant. I was wondering if i can have something like: <VirtualHost *:80 *:443> and then I can put: <IfModule mod_ssl.c> SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile ... SSLCertificateKeyFile ... SSLCACertificateFile ... </IfModule> inside an if statement that checks if connection is on port 443... or is such thing impossible? the server supports SNI, and I don't have any worries from non-SNI compliant browsers.

  • Conditional Formatting of a Cell Based on Color Value in that Cell in Excel

    Is is possible to format a cell based on one component of the RGB value inside of it. For example, let's say I have 3 cells - A1, A2, A3. In A1, I want the cell color to be the shade of red anywhere between 0 and 255 of the number in the cell (so if it is 128, it should be like half red). For that given cell, the other values will just be 0, 0 (so in this case, zero green and zero blue). Is this possible?

    I've never understood how formatting works in MSWord for lists... it mostly just works but sometimes becomes incredibly stubborn about enforcing styles you don't want, especially when copy-pasting into a list and working with multiple, multi-layer lists. What are some good ways to understand how it works, so one can work with Word, instead of fighting against it? Here's an example... I want a list like: 1)first test CHECK: a)something b)another thing 2)another test CHECK: a)it works b)it doesn't crash I find Word really doesn't like this... I try creating one mini-list and copy pasting but typically the numbering on the sub-lists doesn't re-start automatically, etc. I'm using Word 2007 but I remember it being this way in earlier versions too.

    I have a rather annoying format I need to implement. There are 2 cells, both containing a date (cell A and B). B contains a date (24-06-2011). Cell B should be colored if cell A is between a date range, based on cell B. So if cell A lies between cell B - 7 days and cell B - 11 days, then it should be triggered. So with numbers: If B is 24-06-2011 then the range (which is not in any cell in the spreadsheet) is 13-06-2011 until 17-06-2011. If the date in cell A (let's say 14-06-2011) is in that range, cell B should be colored. Any ideas?

  • Change cell formatting without VBA. Custom formatting?

    I have a dropdown field with two values in a form I am creating. The expected data in cell D15 changes depending on the selection. If Option A is selected then a dollar amount is expected. If option B is selected that a percentage is expected. I would like the cell to be formatted as 'accounting' w/ zero decimals for option A and 'percentage' with zero decimals if option B is selected. I do not want to use VBA, if possible. I'm hoping there is a custom formatting solution.

  • Error Formatting Memory Card

    I just tried to look at some of my pictures on my sony cyber-shot dsc-tx5, with a Lexar platinum II 16 GB memory stick, and it is now saying I have a formatting error every time I turn the camera on. The card and Camera are both 3 months old and have worked perfectly before. I tried to check the card on my computer and it says there is an error, so the camera is working but the card is not. Does anyone know how I can fix this to get the pictures off of the card?

I can not delete one by one. I can save it in .txt format but I will lose the formatting of the data. Is there any other way to get this. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.     Hey, I am calling a bunch of posts under a certain post type in WordPress which works but I am trying to add a conditional that will check first if those post's custom meta field (labeled "disc") is equal to the current post's title.     Compiling this: template < class T, class Y, class ...Args > struct isSame { static constexpr bool value = std::conditional< sizeof...( Args ), typename std::conditional< std::is_same< T, Y >::value, isSame< Y, Args... >, // Error! std::false_type >::type, std::is_same< T, Y > >::type::value; }; int main() { qDebug() << isSame< double, int >::value; return EXIT_SUCCESS; } Gives me this compiler error: error: wrong number of template arguments (1, should be 2 or more) The issue is that isSame< double, int > has an empty Args parameter pack, so isSame< Y, Args... > effectively becomes isSame< Y > which does not match the signature. But my question is: Why is that branch being evaluated at all? sizeof...( Args ) is false, so the inner std:conditional should not be evaluated. This isn't a runtime piece of code, the compiler knows that sizeof..( Args ) will never be true with the given template types. If you're curious, it's supposed to be a variadic version of std::is_same, not that it works...

  • Outlook 2007 message formatting - pasted images

    When you cut and past an image into a message window when composing a new email, the image will display as you would expect and formatting the image appears straight forward, However the pain happens when you click send. The recipient notices that the image will resize with the size of there outlook window. The original image size is ignored and no scrollbars appear. Howe do you stop this behaviour. When said image is pasted, say you want to place a graphic on top of the image such as an arrow. By using the ribbon, selecting the insert tab and choosing shapes, you go ahead and select the arrow shape and plonk it on to of the image, just where you want it, give it a nice colour and then send the email. As the recipient resizes there outlook message window, the image resizes but the shape remains where it was, now who wants that micros*a*ft! So, how do you A) make the shape resize with the image, so the shape stays where I put it in relation to the image, and b) stop the image resizing in the first place.

You can tell it to leave the case alone, upper everything, upper only the keywords, lower everything. Accessing the Formatter Options We allow separate formatting options for different RDBMS. You need to make sure you’re accessing the ‘Oracle Formatting’ page in the preferences. You can then choose to edit the default options OR you can do what I have done – save the defaults as a new set of options. I’ve called my profile ‘JeffCustom.’ I can now switch back and forth now through different sets of formatting options. You need to hit the ‘Edit’ button to get to the formatting options editor. A good number of people seem to miss this. Select your profile, then hit the ‘Edit’ button

    I just have a quick question about the conditional operator. Still a budding programmer here. I am given x = 1, y = 2, and z = 3. I want to know, why after this statement: y += x-- ? z++ : --z; That y is 5. The values after the statement are x = 0, y = 5, and z = 4. I know the way the conditional operator works is that it is formatted like this: variable = condition ? value if true : value if false. For the condition, y += x-- , how does y become 5? I can only see 2 (2 += 0) and 3 (2 += 1)(then x-- becomes zero) as possibilities. Any help is much appreciated. :)

    I have created an additional iPad target for what was originally an iphone app. From the Apple docs: "In nearly all cases, you will want to define a new view controller class to manage the iPad version of your application interface, especially if that interface is at all different from your iPhone interface. You can use conditional compilation to coordinate the creation of the different view controllers." But they don't give any example or detail on what conditional compilation is. Can anyone give an example? And where would I do this?
