  • Cannot get git working

    I'm trying to install my own git server with these instructions. http://cisight.com/how-to-setup-git-server-using-gitolite-in-ubuntu-11-10-oneiric/ But I am get stuck at this point. git clone --verbose [email protected]:testing.git Cloning into 'testing'... Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly And I think it has something to do with this: gitolite@ip-xxxx:~$ gl-setup tmp/john.pub key_read: uudecode Aklkdfgkldkgldkgldkgfdlkgldkgdlfkgldkgldkgdlkgkfdnknbkdnbkdnbkdnbkfnbkdfnbkdnfbkdfnbdknbkdnbkfnbkdbnkdbnkdfnbkd [email protected] failed fprint failed I always get the fail and I think its preventing me from cloning repo.The repo is there along with gitolite-admin.git repo. The permissions are this: drwxr-x--- 8 gitolite gitolite 4096 Jun 6 16:29 gitolite-admin.git drwxr-x--- 7 gitolite gitolite 4096 Jun 6 16:29 testing.git So my question is what am I missing here?

  • Problem with running open office from the command line

    Yesterday I installed OpenOffice on my Linux server. But when I go to run it through the command line, it says command cannot be found. I've also tried other things like OOWriter, etc. Has anyone had this problem?   • Editing sudoers file to restrict a user's commands

    Is it possible to edit the sudoers file so a user can use sudo for any command except for a specified one? I reverse is true, I believe, that the sudoers file can be setup so that a user can only execute a given list of commands. EDIT: the commands I really want to take away are halt and reboot... this makes me think there are special system calls for halt and reboot. Can you take system calls away from a user? If not, is it because the unix permission system abstracts over system calls neglecting this?

  • mod_rewrite REQUEST_FILENAME doesn't contain absolute path

    I have a problem with a file test operation in a mod_rewrite RewriteCond entry which is testing whether %{REQUEST_FILENAME} exists. It seems that rather than %{REQUEST_FILENAME} being an absolute path, I'm getting a path which is rooted at the DocumentRoot instead. Configuration I have this inside a <VirtualHost> block in my apache 2.2.9 configuration: RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /tmp/rewrite.log RewriteLogLevel 5 #push virtually everything through our dispatcher script RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/([^/]*)/?([^/]*) /dispatch.php?_c=$1&_m=$2 [qsa,L] Diagnostics attempted That rule is a common enough idiom for routing requests for non-existent files or directories through a script. Trouble is, it's firing even if a file does exist. If I remove the rule, I can request normal files just fine. But with the rule in place, these requests get directed to dispatch.php Rewrite log trace Here's what I see in the rewrite.log init rewrite engine with requested uri /test.txt applying pattern '^/([^/]*)/?([^/]*)' to uri '/test.txt' RewriteCond: input='/test.txt' pattern='!-f' => matched RewriteCond: input='/test.txt' pattern='!-d' => matched rewrite '/test.txt' -> '/dispatch.php?_c=test.txt&_m=' split uri=/dispatch.php?_c=test.txt&_m= -> uri=/dispatch.php, args=_c=test.txt&_m= local path result: /dispatch.php prefixed with document_root to /path/to/my/public_html/dispatch.php go-ahead with /path/to/my/public_html/dispatch.php [OK] So, it looks to me like the REQUEST_FILENAME is being presented as a path from the document root, rather than the file system root, which is presumably why the file test operator fails.   • Cobalt Qube 3 Unresponsive

    I recently bought a used Cobalt Qube 3 server off of eBay. The seller listed it as working before it was shipped. After starting it up for the first time, the "Cobalt Networks" logo scrolled across the LCD screen (this is normal), but then it stayed there. It will not go away, and the server will not respond to any of the buttons besides turning it off. I read the manual, and it does not say anything about this normally occurring. If necessary, could anyone walk me through or provide links to a reset tutorial? I have the OS Restore CD. Please help? I'm not sure why my question is being downvoted but if you need any more information please comment.

    I had to switch servers and I want to redirect all SSL urls to the non-ssl site.   • Why doesn't this script work?

    I've been using this bash script: for i in $(ls); do mv $i a$i; done to prepend all filenames in a folder with the letter a. I'm afraid that at some point I'll accidentally use this script in the wrong directory and prepend a ton of filenames that I don't want prepended. So I decided to explicitly cite the path to the file. So now my script looks like this: for i in $(ls /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images); do mv /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/$i /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/a$i; done It does prepend the filename with the letter a, but it also appends the filename with this ? symbol. Any ideas why it would do that? If it helps any, I'm using cygwin on a Windows 7 box. Thanks for the help!

  • Windows XP volume control spontaneously slides to zero

    Was listening to a podcast in iTunes at my desk, left my desk briefly and as I sat down, the volume faded. If I scrolled the volume back up, using my keyboard or the volume tray icon, it would smoothly scroll back down again. I rebooted, same thing occurred. Figuring maybe I had a stuck keyboard or hitherto undiscovered mouse function, I unplugged each in turn. Volume still wanted to go to zero! Anyone know what might cause this? It's driving me nuts!

  • Stack data storage order

    When talking about a stack in either computing or "real" life we usually assume a "first on, last off" type of functionality. Because the idea of a stack is based around something in the physical world, does it matter how the data in the stack is stored? I notice in a lot of examples that the storage of the stack data is quite often done using an array and the newest item added to the stack is placed at the bottom of the array. (like adding a new plate to an existing stack of plates except putting it underneath the other plates rather than on top). As a paradigm, does it matter in what order the data is stored within the stack as long as the operation of the stack acts as expected?

  • SQL Reporting Services - Subreports Broken into multiple columns

    Hi, I inherited an SQL Reporting Services .rdl project from somebody and need help fixing some functionality. In each row of the report, there is a subreport. In order to save space the subreport is divided into 3. Such that in each row of the report, it splits the data of the subreport into 3 smaller tables. Right now, it fills these 3 subreports horizontally. (ie. if the result has 9 values, the first subtable will have 1, 4 & 7, the second subtable will have 2, 5 & 8, etc) Is there a way to have it fill the subtables vertically? (ie. the first subtable would have 1,2 & 3) Thanks!

On modification, the thumbnail row under the slideshow is now separated from the slideshow and the thumbs are not centered.     I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script to update the onclick value of a bunch of links on a page. The HTML looks like this: <a onclick="OpenGenericPopup('url-99.asp','popup',500,500,false)" href="javascript:void(0)">text</a> I need to update the url-99.asp part of the Javascript into something like urlB-99.asp.     I was just playing around with some code in LINQPad and managed to crash the program with a stackoverflow exception. I basically created a static property in a class and used another property to return the value from an instance. The getter of my instance property would return the value of the static property, but the setter would set itself. When would this type of pattern be used and how come it generated a stackoverflow exception?   • Fragment not showing up and breaks other buttons on Layout

    I'm learning how to use Fragments, and trying to add a fragment tag_button.xml at runtime to a FrameLayout tagFragmentContainer deep within another layout, deepLayout.xml. I get no errors, but the fragment doesn't show up.   • DataReader already open when using LINQ

    I've got a static class containing a static field which makes reference to a wrapper object of a DataContext. The DataContext is basically generated by Visual Studio when we created a dbml file & contains methods for each of the stored procedures we have in the DB. Our class basically has a bunch of static methods that fire off each of these stored proc methods & then returns an array based on a LINQ query. Example: public static TwoFieldBarData[] GetAgesReportData(string pct) { return DataContext .BreakdownOfUsersByAge(Constants.USER_MEDICAL_PROFILE_KEY, pct) .Select(x => new TwoFieldBarData(x.DisplayName, x.LeftValue, x.RightValue, x.TotalCount)) .ToArray(); } Every now and then, we get the following error: There is already an open DataReader associated with this Command which must be closed firs This is happening intermittently and I'm curious as to what is going on. My guess is that when there's some lag between one method executing and the next one firing, it's locking up the DataContext and throwing the error. Could this be a case for wrapping each of the DataContext LINQ calls in a lock(){} to obtain exclusivity to that type and ensure other requests are queued?
