• Align table columns HTML

  I finally was able to align the columns in the tables of a page of my website. Though I found the solution I don't understand it. This is a fiddle I prepared. If you delete display: block from the CSS the columns are centered perfectly. The fact is that I don't understand what that instruction is causing problems, doesn't it means that elements are displayed as block elements? Shouldn't it cause the elements (the raw in particular) to fill an entire line? Thanks for your explanation

The only good is to run the jboss by prompt and connect at 8787 with eclipse to debug the app.. But I want to back at the normal use.. Thanks in advice..

• Did You Know Facebook Has Built-In Shortcut Keys?

  I was spending some time browsing around Facebook today (translation: wasting time), when I noticed that they have some shortcut keys for navigating around the site using the keyboard, so I put together a list for everybody. Note: for each of these shortcut keys, if you’re using Firefox, you’ll need to use Shift+Alt instead of just Alt, and for Internet Explorer you’ll need to hit the Enter key after the shortcut to trigger it. • Jumping over non-stationary objects without problems ... 2-D platformer ... how could this be solved? [on hold]

  You know this problem ... take Super Mario Bros. for example. When Mario/Luigi/etc. comes in proximity with a nearing pipe image an invisible boundary setter must prevent him from continuing forward movement. However, when you jump and move both x and y you are coordinately moving in two dimensions at an exact time. When nearing the pipe in mid-air as you are falling, i.e. implementation of gravity in the computer program "pulling" the image back down, and you do not want them to get "stuck" in both falling and moving. That problem is solved, but how about this one: The player controlling the ball object is attempting to jump and move rightwards over the non-stationary block that moves up and down. How could we measure its top and lower x+y components to determine the safest way for the ball to accurately either fall back down, or catch the ledge, or get pushed down under it, etc.?

• Using Copyrighted Images

  I was thinking about developing a sidescrolling platformer very similar to an old Mario and Luigi game for NES. To start out I was thinking about taking the images from a site like this: http://www.mariouniverse.com/sprites/nes/smb3 Which clearly states a copyright. I was wondering how far I am allowed to take these images. I figure I'm probably allowed to use it for personal development, but what if I publish the game as an exe file and send it to some friends? I figured a definite no-no would be selling the game with the copyrighted images included. A secondary question would be whether or not I would be allowed to modify them slightly and then call them my own.

[closed] 17 answers I need to create a naming scheme for my servers, but I am having a hard time come by a good category list to go by. I want something with an abundance of names to use, so as I scale my server count I won't run out. Some that I have heard being used is greek philosophers (plato) planet names (saturn, mercury, venus, mars) Mario Characters (mario, luigi, yoshi, toad) I feel like the above categories are kind of limited. • Ask the Readers: Which Browser is a Must-Have for You on Linux?

  Linux systems all come with their own particular set of default browsers, but those browsers may not be the ones you want or need. This week we would like to know which browser (or browsers) are considered “must-have” on your Linux systems. As a general rule many Linux distributions have Firefox and/or Konqueror as one of the default installation browsers. During this past year the open source browser Chromium has also been gaining a lot of traction as a default install for systems. For most people these browsers are the ones that they like best or feel work well enough to not make any changes. But there are other people who want more than what is available with a default system install. They may favor a particular browser for its’ extensibility or speed…others prefer a particular browser for its’ features or minimalist UI. Whatever your preferences may be, there is a browser out there to fit your style. Some people may even prefer to run only bleeding edge nightly releases or add them in with their current browsers. The important part is that you have choices when it comes to your Linux system. What we would like to know this week is which browser or browsers you make sure are always installed on your Linux systems. Does the Linux system you use already have your favorite browser installed as part of the default set? Maybe you are content with using the default set of browsers that come with the system. Or perhaps you prefer to rework the entire browser setup on your system by removing the defaults and adding your favorites.   The following can be done by step by step, somewhat clumsy way, but I wonder if there are elegant method to do it. The numbers are for bonus points for: Speed Weight Acceleration Handling Drift Off-Road Mini-Turbo and then there is table 2 Standard Bike S 39 21 51 51 54 43 48 Out Bullet Bike 53 24 32 35 67 29 67 In Bubble Bike / Jet Bubble 48 27 40 40 45 35 37 In [...] These are also the characteristics for the Bike or Kart. I wonder what's the most elegant solution for finding all the maximum combinations of Speed, Weight, Acceleration, etc, and also for the minimum, either by directly using the HTML on that page or copy and pasting the numbers into a text file. Actually, in that character table, Mario to Bower Jr are all medium characters, Baby Mario to Dry Bones are small characters, and the rest are all big characters, except the small, medium, or large Mii are just as what the name says. Small characters can only ride small bike or small kart, and so forth for medium and large.
