  • Baffling Exchange 2010 issue , Outlook 2003

    - by Nick Weber
Recently we upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. The Exchange 2003 server is still up and active with a handful of users still there we are planning on migrating. Also we have mobile devices and a Blackberry BES server setup publishing to Exchange 2010 public folders free busy. The unfortunate issue is majority of our clients are still Outlook 2003. The issue seems to be hit and miss but sometime clients cannot view other client’s calendars. They get (cannot refresh free/busy) when they add another user and check their available times. This is also true with booking resources (conference rooms) . One thing we noticed is that the Blackberry BES seems to have created its own free/busy folders, so we have some users who use the BES on free/busy folder and other users who don’t use the BES on other free/busy folders. If any of the clients log-in via “Exchange 2010” web-access or with a Outlook 2007 client they can view the calendaring just fine. Thanks for your help Nick @Toshana

  • How to set Foreground Color in a ListBox single element?

    - by user1038056
    I'm doing a game. I have a list of users (nicks): List<string> users; This list is used to show to the users on a ListBox, call listaJogadores. public delegate void actualizaPlayersCallback(List<string> users); public void actualizaPlayers(List<string> users) { listaJogadores.BeginInvoke(new actualizaPlayersCallback(this.actualizarListaPlayers), new object[] { users }); } public void actualizarListaPlayers(List<string> users) { listaJogadores.Items.Clear(); for (int i = 0; i < users.Count; i++) { listaJogadores.Items.Add(users.ElementAt(i)); } } When a user is playing, then it have is nick on the list of games: List<Game> games; What I want is when a player enter in a game, the color of is nick show in listaJogadores, must be Red! When I have only one player in a game, everything is ok, all the players see the nick of that player in red, but when another player go to a game, then I get an ArgumentOutOfRangeException in the instruction string nick = tmp.players.ElementAt(i).getNick(); This is my code... Give me some ideas/help please! I think that the problem is the for(), but how can I manipulate an entire list without doing a loop? listaJogadores.DrawMode = DrawMode.OwnerDrawFixed; private void listaJogadores_DrawItem(object sender, DrawItemEventArgs e) { e.DrawBackground(); Brush textBrush = SystemBrushes.ControlText; Font drawFont = e.Font; for (int i = 0; i < games.Count; i++) { Game tmp; tmp = games.ElementAt(i); for (int j = 0; j < tmp.players.Count; j++) { string nick = tmp.players.ElementAt(i).getNick(); if (listaJogadores.Items[e.Index].ToString() == nick) { textBrush = Brushes.Red;//RED.... if ((e.State & DrawItemState.Selected) > 0) drawFont = new Font(drawFont.FontFamily, drawFont.Size, FontStyle.Bold); } else if ((e.State & DrawItemState.Selected) > 0) { textBrush = SystemBrushes.HighlightText; } } } e.Graphics.DrawString(listaJogadores.Items[e.Index].ToString(), drawFont, textBrush, e.Bounds); }

  • OpenGL fovx question

    - by Nick
To boil my question down to the simplest form, I fear I am oversimplifying how mat4 perspective works. I am using mat4.perspective(45, 2, 0.1, 1000.0) (the binding is WebGL fwiw). With a fovy of 45, and an aspect ratio of 2, I expect to have a fovx of 90. Thus, if I position my camera at (0, 0, 50), looking towards the origin, I expect to see a cube positioned at (50, 0, 0) (45 degrees) right at the very periphery of my screen, half on, half off,. Instead, a cube at (50, 0, 0) is totally off screen, and my actually periphery occurs at about (41.1, 0, 0). What am I missing here? Thanks, nick

  • Google I/O 2011: 3D Graphics on Android: Lessons learned from Google Body

Google I/O 2011: 3D Graphics on Android: Lessons learned from Google Body Nico Weber Google originally built Google Body, a 3D application that renders the human body in incredible detail, for WebGL-capable browsers running on high-end bPCs. To bring the app to Android at a high resolution and frame rate, Nico Weber and Won Chun had a close encounter with Android's graphics stack. In this session Nico will present their findings as best practices for high-end 3D graphics using OpenGL ES 2.0 on Android. The covered topics range from getting accelerated pixels on the screen to fast resource loading, performance guidelines, texture compression, mipmapping, recommended vertex attribute formats, and shader handling. The talk also touches on related topics such as SDK vs NDK, picking, and resource loading. From: GoogleDevelopers Views: 6077 29 ratings Time: 56:09 More in Science & Technology

  • Apache 2.4, Ubuntu 12.04 Forbidden Errors

    - by tubaguy50035
I just installed Apache 2.4 today, and I'm having some issues getting vhost configuration to work correctly. Below is the vhost conf <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot /hosting/Client/site.com/www ServerName site.com ServerAlias www.site.com <Directory "/hosting/Client/site.com/www"> Options +Indexes +FollowSymLinks Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> DirectoryIndex index.html </VirtualHost> There is an index.html file in /hosting/Client/site.com/www. When I go to the site, I receive a 403 forbidden error. The www-data group is the group on the www folder, which I've already given all permissions (r/w/x). I'm really at a loss as to why this is happening. Any thoughts? If I remove the vhost and go straight to the IP address, I get the default, "It works!" page. So I know that it's working. The error log says "client denied by server configuration". apache2ctl -S dump: nick@server:~$ apache2ctl -S /usr/sbin/apache2ctl: 87: ulimit: error setting limit (Operation not permitted) VirtualHost configuration: *:80 is a NameVirtualHost default server site.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/site.com.conf:1) port 80 namevhost site.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/site.com.conf:1) alias www.site.com port 80 namevhost site.com (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/site.com.conf:1) alias www.site.com ServerRoot: "/etc/apache2" Main DocumentRoot: "/var/www" Main ErrorLog: "/var/log/apache2/error.log" Mutex watchdog-callback: using_defaults Mutex default: dir="/var/lock/apache2" mechanism=fcntl Mutex mpm-accept: using_defaults PidFile: "/var/run/apache2.pid" Define: DUMP_VHOSTS Define: DUMP_RUN_CFG Define: ENALBLE_USR_LIB_CGI_BIN User: name="www-data" id=33 not_used Group: name="www-data" id=33 not_used Ouput of namei -mo /hosting/Client/site/www/index.html f: /hosting/Client/site.com/www/index.html drwxr-xr-x root root / drwxr-xr-x root root hosting drwxr-xr-x root root Client drwxr-xr-x nick www-data site.com drwxr-xr-x nick www-data www -rw-rwxr-x nick www-data index.html

  • Coded ui to measure performance

    - by Mike Weber
I have been tasked with using coded UI to measure performance on a proprietary windows desktop application. The need is to measure how long it takes for the next page/screen to display after a user clicks on a control. For example - a user enters their ID and PW and clicks sign-in. The need is to measure how long it takes for the next screen to display when the user clicks the sign-in button. I understand the need to define what indicates the screen is loaded and ready for use. One approach is to use control.WaitForControlReady and use BeginTimer/EndTimer. Is coded ui a dependable and accurate way of measuring time? Is WaitForControlReady the best method to determine when a control is ready for use?

    - by Markus Weber
Oracle OpenWorld Tokyo will open its doors on Wednesday, April 4 2012, until Friday, April 6 2012, in Roppongi.I've you been in Tokyo as a Gaijin, or foreigner, you know exactly where that it. Many of Oracle's top executives will be there, including Larry Ellison, Mark Hurd, and John Fowler. The keynotes that they are covering will be very interesting, for sure. Now, whether you will actually be there, or not, you might still find it interesting that several great Solaris-related sessions will be held there, especially as part of the "Oracle Develop" track, such as: "Oracle Solaris 11 - Developers Need To Know" "How to build high performance and high security Oracle Database environment with Oracle SPARC/Solaris" "Oracle Solaris Tuning Contest" "IT Assets preservation and constructive migration with Oracle Solaris virtualization" And of course John Fowler's keynote "Server and Storage Systems Strategy".The complete schedule in English can be found here. We hope you can make it. If not, there will always be the San Francisco one.

  • The Calmest IT Guy in the World

    - by Markus Weber
Unplanned outages and downtime still result not only in major productivity losses, but also major financial losses. Along the same lines, if zero planned downtime and zero data loss are key to your IT environment and your business requirements, planning for those becomes very important, all while balancing between performance, high availability, and cost. Oracle Database High Availability technologies will help you achieve these mission-critical goals, and are reflected in Oracle's best practices offerings of the Maximum Availability Architecture, or MAA. We created three neat, short videos showcasing some typical use cases, and highlighting three important components (amongst many more) of MAA: Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) Oracle Active Data Guard Oracle Flashback Technologies Make sure to watch those videos here, and learn about challenges, and solutions, around High Availability database environments from a recent Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) survey.

  • I have done everything correct on my asp.net website, re: SEO; why aren't google backlinks showing?

    - by Jason Weber
I recently implemented many SEO techniques for a company on their asp.net website; in 6 months, we jumped from a PR1 to a PR3. But I'm having issues with google backlinking. Here are some of the things I've done: Not only did I set up their own Google+ page 6 months ago, I update it pretty much daily with links, pictures, etc., and I blog about it on my own personal Google+ page and post links, etc. ... They have their own Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and all are updated almost daily. I've listed in as many quality, relevant directories as possible 6 months ago; I've avoided link farms. The site is solid SEO-wise. Key-phrase rich URLs, schema.org & rich snippets. No duplicate content ... www or non-www 301's, trailing slashes, etc. ... all taken care of. Probably a ton of other things, but basically, the site is all set, SEO-wise. Here's what's confounding: When I do a link:www.example.com in Bing/Yahoo, it shows many backlinks. When I do a link:www.example.com in google, it shows up 0 links. Or when I use a site-ranker like Web Site Rank Tool it's showing 0 backlinks from Google. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Desktop interface crashes after software updates

    - by N.C. Weber
Recently, after installing Ubuntu software updates on the evening of December 7th, 2012, my desktop interface crashes regularly leaving me with a command line screen with a long string of automated commands showing (I assume what goes on behind the pretty desktop). At first, I thought it was only crashing whenever I played DirectX games in WINE, but now it crashes if I open the native Firefox browser or if it's doing nothing at all but sitting there. Apport attempts to report the bugs after restart, but often they crash as well. I've done a SMART check on the hard drive, and everything report OK. No read errors, no bad sectors. I am using an Acer Extensa 4620Z Memory: 2.0 GiB Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.73GHz x 2 GraphicsL: Intel 965GM x86/MMX/SSE2 OS: Ubuntu 12.10 32-bit Disk: 116.0 GB with 33.4 GB Available

  • Is it possible to use a VB master page to cover an entirely separate directory written in C#?

    - by Jason Weber
I have a company website written in vb.net. There are 5 master pages. I recently began utilizing a forum application, also asp.net 4.0, but this one is written in C#. My forum directory is domain.com/knowledgebase/. Is there any possible way to take one of my vb.net master pages and somehow integrate into the /knowledgebase/ directory? Here's what's currently This is what's in the top of every page in my site: <%@ Page Title="USS Vision Inc." Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/homepage.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="default.aspx.vb" Inherits="_default" culture="auto" meta:resourcekey="PageResource1" uiculture="auto" Debug="true" %> This is what's in my /knowledgebase/ directory: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" ValidateRequest="false" Inherits="YAF.ForumPageBase" culture="auto" uiculture="auto" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="YAF" Assembly="YAF" Namespace="YAF" %> <script runat="server"> Is it somehow possible to use, for instance, homepage.master in the /knowledgebase/ directory? If so, how would I accomplish this? Thanks for any guidance anybody can offer!

  • Should I, and how do I incorporate microdata into my asp.net website with 47 pages?

    - by Jason Weber
I have an asp.net (vb) with 47 pages. The problem is that it's in 10 different languages, although 98% just use English. I have 5 master pages. I've read Google Webmaster Tools, but I'm still confounded. I'm reading about how microdata is the way to go. Does this mean I should put itemtype and itemprop span and div tags in my master pages, or should I do all of my 47 pages (.resx resource files) separately? The main key phrase I want throughout search results is "machine vision". For instance, the first couple sentences on my "about.aspx" page are: <span itemprop="name">USS Vision Inc.</span> (USS) is a privately-owned company with headquarters in <span itemprop="locality">Detroit, Michigan, USA</span>. We design, engineer, produce, and integrate special machine vision error-proofing products and <a href="http://www.ussvision.com/services/" target="_self" itemprop="url">services</a> that create lean factories by improving the quality of manufactured products, and by significantly reducing manufacturing costs through advanced automation. Am I doing this right, or how would I do this if I'm not? Should I use the itemprop="url" or other rich snippets for every link in my website? I mean, do I need to add an itemprop to just about everything, or can I just alter my master pages? Any guidance in this regard to help improve my SEO and SERPS would be greatly appreciated!

  • Attending my first software conference - any tips before I go? [closed]

    - by Paul Weber
My nice employer allowed me to visit a software conference in June (International PHP Conference, for those who care). Wanting to make the most of it, I would ask the more experienced conference goers in here to give me some tips on what I could do to maximize my learning experience on the conference, and to reduce beginner mistakes. Sorry that this question is a little ambiguous, but I think it's best to keep it a little bit more open, so I can get a wide range of Ideas, and it will be of more use to further people seeking for an answer.

Make sure to register here for this upcoming live webcast, with great speakers, and a live Q&A chat session. It is scheduled for Thursday, December 13th, 2012, at 10am Pacific Time. There are no doubts about the strength, and depth, of Oracle's offerings for highly available database environments. But depending on the nature of your data center environments, your different uses cases and workloads, your service level agreements and expectations, there might still be some open questions about what the best solutions and architectures are to assure high availability and/or affordable, efficient disaster recovery. Therefore, this webcast will answer questions such as: How does Oracle GoldenGate fit into Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture ? When to use Oracle Active Data Guard ? When Oracle GoldenGate ? When both ? When Oracle GoldenGate is a definite requirement for Database High Availability ? Overall, what are new high availability features in Oracle GoldenGate 11g Release 2 ?
