  • Flex Builder AS3 Project migration

    Hi, I am developing a Flash game using as3, I chose flex Builder with an AS3 project. Now I am thinking that if selecting the project to be a flex project instead of as3 project I would have a lot of flex functionality like a swf loader,preloaders and the popup manager etc. The graphic components would obviously have been made in flash and used through the swc (avoiding the heavy mxml components). Need to know what other developers think of this approach.

  • How to modify a already made tween?

    Hi, I have a tween like this : new Tween(myObject, "x",null,nowPosition,finalPosition,time,true); sometween.start(); Now when the tween has not finished and is somewhere in the middle and the final position changes. I want this tween to be modified so instead of moving to its already defined postion the object goes to the final position. Any ideas?

  • Facebook and a stateless server

    I am making a Facebook application, I want to have a stateless server.The Facebook connect requests are from the server side. So when Facebook gives me a session which has to be maintained at the server this way my server won't be stateless. When I'll load balance I can't have a simple load balancer instead it would need to know which users are on which server, something I don't want. Any Ideas?

  • Actionscript blur/shadows/glows how heavy are they on the processor?

    Hi, I have say 10 items in a particular space, If I apply glows and drop shadows to all of them and all of these items are usually static. Other characters do move around them too. So I'm just wondering would it be wise to use vectors with actionscript blurs and glows. Or to have a PNG? and if I cannot have a PNG and have to work with vectors with glows/blurs/shadows. Would they be too heavy on the processor?

  • Dragging on Different Levels

    Hi, I have a flash project with three non overlapping panels (visual spaces) each of which contains different movie-clips. Each movie-clip in a particular panel is the child of that panel. Now, I want to drag one of the movie-clips from one panel to another (remove it as a child from the first panel and add it to the other) without a jitter and proper drag. What is the appropriate way to handle the drag architecturally. Should the drag be handled in all panels parent. In the panels, or the items themselves? Thanks.

    When I use Handler and its postDelayed method, the run() method executes twice. Below is part of my code. Handler deneme = new Handler(); deneme.postDelayed(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { randomOyna(); } }, 1000); where randomOyna is the method public void randomOyna() { Log.v("sonOlarak", "çalisti"); } I monitor the LogCat and see that "çalisti" entry is written twice, so that randomOyna is called twice. The task is scheduled truely, but executes both after 1 sec and 2 secs. Can you help me???

    I have a installshiled project which generates setup.exe file. I'd like to enable silent install by generating proper setup.iss file. I ran the following command: Setup.exe /r which lunched the installer, but it never created the setup.iss file. I looked in C:\Windows as the documentation suggested, as well as some other locations (local directory, program files etc.) Why isn't it created and how to fix? Thanks,

    Hi, There is a couple of hours that I'm trying to set a tableView background image. My controller is a subclass of UITableViewController, and I simply wrote this lines of code in ViewDidLoad method. UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"home-portrait-iphone.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; Everything looks great on the simulator, I mean, I see my table and as background view, y can see the image. But when the app is running on the device (ipod touch), I get this error: Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. and the stack says: * -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00 Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '** -[UITableView setBackgroundView:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x812e00' and the exception is thrown in the assignment, a mean this line: self.tableView.backgroundView = imageView; any ideas?   • Android: No icon for Notification

    Hello, I wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view. Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps.   • Getting Tap/Touch Position when selecting a TableView cell

    Hi, hope to get some help here because this is something that really makes me mad... I have a view with a tableView, and when I tap a cell I want to present a popOver window pointing the arrow to the cell I tapped. the things that I think I need is: 1- the position of the cell in the screen (not in the view, because on large tables the Y value of the cell's rect could be grater than screen hight) or 2- a CGPoint or something similar that represents the point in the screen I tapped.     I have an app in J2EE with a couple of projects. Got my .war project that communicates with a EJB business project which has access to some Data. I have an entity which has some information about places, and I want to show a collection of those places in a single map on a JSF page. I have a Collection of coordinates to be assigned as points on a polyline in Google maps, and I've got this collection as a return of a java function of the jsf page, but I dont know how to get this collection from jsf and then how to make the map work I'll be very greatful if someone can give me some jsf code as an example. (and if someone knows how to set the autoReshape attribute for maps in jsf using javascript, please tell me the secret!!!!) Thanks a lot.

    I have a Red5 application which defines some public Java methods. When I start the server, an object of the application class gets created. I am trying to call the public methods of the application class from PHP using the existing instance of the Java application class. So here's my Java application: public class App extends org.red5.server.adapter.ApplicationAdapter { public boolean appStart(IScope app) { // This method gets called when the application starts // and an object of this App class is created. return true; } // This is the method I would like to call from PHP. public void f() { } } From PHP, I would like to get access to the App object that is created and call the method f() on it. I have tried playing around with this thing called "context". So in the Java method App.appStart(), I did this: // Save a reference to this App object to be retrieved later in PHP. new PhpScriptContextFactory().getContext().put("x", this); And in PHP, I tried to access the saved object like this: require_once("http://localhost:5080/JavaBridge/java/Java.inc"); var_dump(java_is_null(java_context()->get("x"))); Unfortunately, the java_is_null() function in PHP returns true. I also tried saving the App object in a static variable of App class but when I access that variable in PHP, its value is null.

  • Is it possible to implement a GC.GetAliveInstancesOf<T>() (for use in debugging)?

    Hi, I know this was answered before, but I'd like to pose a somewhat different question. Is there any conceivable way to implement GC.GetAliveInstancesOf(), that can be evaluated in Visual Studio Debug Watch window? Sasha Goldstein shows one solution in this article, but it requires every class you want to query inherit from a specific base class. I'll emphasize that I only want to use this method during debugging, so I don't care that the GC may change an object's address in memory during runtime. One idea might be to somehow harness the !dumpheap –type command of SOS, and do some magic trick to create a temporary variable and have it point out to the memory address printed by SOS. Does anyone have a solution that works?

The strange thing is I wasn't receiving this error before yesterday and I didn't make any security related change. On the other hand, my own keystore using for releases is still working good.   • In native C++, how does one use a SqlCe .sdf database?

    Is there a simple way, without .NET? I've found some libraries but none for SqlCe 3.5. There is http://sqlcehelper.codeplex.com/ but it's far from done, since a major feature like using a password is not yet implemented. I've looked at the source and it uses OLEdb to handle the database. The offical Microsoft Northwind example (that is shipped with SQL Compact 3.1, but not with 3.5) also doesn't work, I've tried setting it up with no success. Actually I don't have a sample working code. Was anyone able to set it up paired with a passworded .sdf? What are the alternatives? Thanks.

  • Jquery dynamic button : how to bind to exisitng click event by class

    I have a click event triggered by the class selector inside the jquery ready scope: $(".testBtn").click(function() { alert("This Works"); }); This works fine for static buttons how ever this doesn't work for dynamic buttons which are added upon clicking the button with "addRowBtn" id. I'm guessing that it has something to do with that the button is created after the event is registered but still the new button has the 'testBtn' class so it makes sense it should work. Any idea what am i doing wrong and how to make the dynamic buttons registered to the class selector click event?   • How is "Make Object ID" implemented in the .NET debugger?

    Hi, I would like know how this feature is implemented in VS - I understand it holds some sort of weak-reference to the object in the debugged-application's memory, but how exactly is it accomplished?   • Which is the best Linux C/C++ debugger (or front-end to gdb) to help teaching programming?

    I teach a sort of "lite" C++ programming course to novices ("lite" meaning no pointers, no classes, just plain old C, plus references and STL string and vectors). Students have no previous experience in programming, so I believe that using an interactive debugger would help them understand program flow, variables, and recursion. The course is taught in Linux. Teaching them to use gdb is just overkill (they will not use nor understand most features). I just need something simple but easy to use: to see at which line the program is now, what is in the stack (local variables, previous calls, etc.). I look something similar to old Turbo Pascal or Turbo C++ Borland's debugger, or Visual Studio debugger. Thank you,
