• Wifi hotspot disconnected after some time

  I am trying to use my Ubuntu system as Wifi Hotspot, but for some reason Hotspot get disconnected on its own. Searching for the solution, I found this help : Why is my ethernet connection connecting and disconnecting repeatedly? Reading through the above article I used the following command sudo killall dnsmasq as a result I manage to establish hotspot for around 5-10 sec before getting disconnected as against immediately.... • Sentence Tree v/s Words List

  I was recently tasked with building a Name Entity Recognizer as part of a project. The objective was to parse a given sentence and come up with all the possible combinations of the entities. One approach that was suggested was to keep a lookup table for all the know connector words like articles and conjunctions, remove them from the words list after splitting the sentence on the basis of the spaces. This would leave out the Name Entities in the sentence. A lookup is then done for these identified entities on another lookup table that associates them to the entity type, for example if the sentence was: Remember the Titans was a movie directed by Boaz Yakin, the possible outputs would be: {Remember the Titans,Movie} was {a movie,Movie} directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} {Remember the Titans,Movie} was a movie directed by Boaz Yakin {Remember the Titans,Movie} was {a movie,Movie} directed by Boaz Yakin {Remember the Titans,Movie} was a movie directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} Remember the Titans was {a movie,Movie} directed by Boaz Yakin Remember the Titans was {a movie,Movie} directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} Remember the Titans was a movie directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} Remember the {the titans,Movie,Sports Team} was {a movie,Movie} directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} Remember the {the titans,Movie,Sports Team} was a movie directed by Boaz Yakin Remember the {the titans,Movie,Sports Team} was {a movie,Movie} directed by Boaz Yakin Remember the {the titans,Movie,Sports Team} was a movie directed by {Boaz Yakin,director} The entity lookup table here would contain the following data: Remember the Titans=Movie a movie=Movie Boaz Yakin=director the Titans=Movie the Titans=Sports Team Another alternative logic that was put forward was to build a crude sentence tree that would contain the connector words in the lookup table as parent nodes and do a lookup in the entity table for the leaf node that might contain the entities. The tree that was built for the sentence above would be: The question I am faced with is the benefits of the two approaches, should I be going for the tree approach to represent the sentence parsing, since it provides a more semantic structure? Is there a better approach I should be going for solving it?

Here is my code to calculate the speed of the swipe: Vector2 speedMeasuredInScreenWidthsPerSecond =(Input.touches[0].deltaPosition / Screen.width) * Input.touches[0].deltaTime; Now I wanted to take speedMeasuredInScreenWidthsPerSecond and use it to increase the animation speed accordingly like this: animation["gmeChaAnimMiddle"].speed=Mathf.Round(speedMeasuredInScreenWidthsPerSecond); However, this results in an error that I need to convert Vector2 to float. So how do I overcome it?

  If you facing the issue that the web Analytics Reports in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration is not updating data. When you go to your site > site settings > Site Web Analytics reports or Site Collection Analytics reports  You get old data as in the ribbon displayed "Data Last Updated: 12/13/2010 2:00:20 AM" Please insure that the following things are covered: Insure that Usage and Data Health Data Collection service is configured correctly. Log Collection Schedule is configured correctly Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation Usage Data Import and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing Timer jobs are configured to run at regular intervals One last important Timer job is the Web Analytics Trigger Workflows Timer Job insure that this timer job is enabled and scheduled to run at regular intervals (for each site that you need analytics for). After you have insured that the web analytics service configuration is working fine and the Usage Data Import job is importing the *.usage files from the ULS LOGS folder into the WSS_Logging database, and that all the required timer jobs are running as expected… wait for a day for the report to get updated… the report gets updated automatically at 2:00 am in the morning… and i could not find a way to control the schedule for this report update job. So be sure to wait for a day before giving up :)

  Sometimes Ubuntu freezes and I have no other option than to power off system directly. Is there some remedy or way like 'Ctrl + Alt + Del' similar to that in Windows. That would be very helpful..... I need a way out other than option to directly power off my system in times of gross failure. Shutting down this way always creates fear crashing down my system or losing some data which is unacceptable.

Load allows the entity to be loaded lazily, meaning the actual call to the database is made only when properties on the entity being loaded is first accessed. Additionally, if the entity has already been loaded into NHibernate Cache, then the entity is loaded directly from the cache instead of querying the underlying database. ISession.Get<T> instead makes the call to the database, every time it is invoked. With this background, it is obvious that we would prefer ISession.Load<T> over ISession.Get<T> most of the times for performance reasons to avoid making the expensive call to the database. let us consider the impact of using ISession.Load<T> when we are using the Table per Hierarchy implementation of NHibernate. Thus we have base class/ table Animal, there is a derived class named Snake with the Discriminator column being Type which in this case is “Snake”. If we load This Snake entity using the Repository for Animal, we would have a entity loaded, as shown below: public T GetByKey(object key, bool lazy = false) { if (lazy) return CurrentSession.Load<T>(key); return CurrentSession.Get<T>(key); } var tRepo = new NHibernateReadWriteRepository<TPHAnimal>(); var animal = tRepo.GetByKey(new Guid("602DAB56-D1BD-4ECC-B4BB-1C14BF87F47B"), true); var snake = animal as Snake; snake is null As you can see that the animal entity retrieved from the database cannot be cast to Snake even though the entity is actually a snake. The reason being ISession.Load prevents the entity to be cast to Snake and will throw the following exception: System.InvalidCastException :  Message=Unable to cast object of type 'TPHAnimalProxy' to type 'NHibernateChecker.Model.Snake'. Thus we can see that if we lazy load the entity using ISession.Load<TPHAnimal> then we get a TPHAnimalProxy and not a snake. =============================================================== However if do not lazy load the same cast works perfectly fine, this is since we are loading the entity from database and the entity being loaded is not a proxy. • What kind of connection this is?

  I happened to use `netstat' program this morning.. And what I couldn't understand its results. The snap-shot of the results window is given below: Screen-shot is at http://s2.postimg.org/3zt058415/image.png ( I can't post images! :/ ) Can somebody explain me the last entry in the results, where I've pointed them with arrows? [1] I don't understand why `canonical' servers are connected with my computer even if I am not currently using anything that I would expect such a connection to exist. [2] Second, I don't see the PID/Program name of the Program which has made this connection. I would at-least expect a PID.

• GRUB install error

  Whenever I try to install Ubuntu, I get a fatal error that reads: 'Executing'grub-install /dev/sda' failed. This is a fatal error.' Its the same as this, but my graphics appear to be running fine. Also, I'm a complete novice at this and really need simple instructions to understand what I'm doing. I've tried booting from a LiveCD and a USB stick. I don't want to dual boot it because its an old computer that I erased XP and plan on only using Linux on it. When I used a USB stick and set the persistent file storage high, I was able to run it, but only as long as the flash drive was plugged in.

To update the Sharepoint User LoginName we can run the following stsadm command on the Server: STSADM –o migrateuser –oldlogin MYDOMAIN\eholz –newlogin MYDOMAIN\eburrell –ignoresidhistory However to update the Sharepoint 2010 UserProfile, i first tried running a Incremental/Full Synchronization using the User Profile Synchronization service… this did not work. To enable me to update the AccountName field (which is a read only field) of the UserProfile, I had to first delete the User Profile for MYDOMAIN\eholz and then run a FULL Synchronization using the User Profile Synchronization service which synchronizes the Sharepoint User Profiles with the AD profiles.

  i want to know the string matching algorithms used by Apache Lucene. i have been going through the index file format used by lucene given here. it seems that lucene stores all words occurring in the text as is with their frequency of occurrence in each document. but as far as i know that for efficient string matching it would need to preprocess the words occurring in the Documents. example: search for "iamrohitbanga is a user of stackoverflow" (use fuzzy matching) in some documents. it is possible that there is a document containing the string "rohit banga" to find that the substrings rohit and banga are present in the search string, it would use some efficient substring matching. i want to know which algorithm it is. also if it does some preprocessing which function call in the java api triggers it.

• Weird networking problem ( Linksys, Windows 7 )

  Okay it's a bit tough to figure out where to start from, but here is the basic summary of the issue: During general internet usage, there are times when any attempt to visit a website stalls at "Waiting for somedomain.com". This problem occurs in Firefox, IE and Chrome. No website will load, INCLUDING the router configuration page at 192.168.1.1. Curiously, ping works fine, and other network apps such as MSN Messenger continue to work and I can send and receive messages. Disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network seems to fix the problem for a bit, but there are times when it relapses into not loading after every 2-3 http requests. Restarting the router seems to fix the issue, but it can crop up hours or days later. I have a CCNA cert and I know my way around the Windows family of operating systems, so I'm going to list all the things I've tried here. Other computers on the network seem to suffer the same problem, which makes me think it might be a specific problem with something in Win7. The random nature of this issue makes it a bit difficult to confirm, but I can definitely say that I have experienced this on the following systems: Windows 7 64-bit on my desktop Windows Vista 32-bit on my desktop ( the desktop has 2 wireless NICs and the problem existed on both ) Windows Vista 32-bit on my laptop ( both with wireless and wired ) Windows XP SP3 on another laptop ( both wireless and wired ) Using Wireshark to sniff packets seemed to indicate that although HTTP requests were being SENT out, no packets were coming in to respond to the HTTP request. However, other network apps continued to work i.e I would still receive IMs on Windows Live Messenger. Disabling IPV6 had no effect. Updating router firmware to the latest stock firmware by Linksys had no effect. Switching to dd-wrt firmware had no effect. By "no effect" I mean that although the restart required by firmware updates fixed the problem at the time, it still came back. A couple of weeks back, after a LOT of googling and flipping of various options, I figured it might be a case of router slowdown ( http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Router%5FSlowdown ) caused by the fact that I occasionally run a torrent client. I tried changing the configuration as suggested in that router slowdown link, and restarted the router. However I have not run the torrent client for 12 days now, and yet I still randomly experience this problem. Currently the computer I am using is running Windows 7 64-bit. I would just like to reiterate some of the reasons that I was confused by the issue. Even the router config page at 192.168.1.1 would not load, indicating that it's not a problem with the WAN link, but probably a router issue or a local computer issue. For some reason, disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network immediately seems to fix the problem. Updating the router firmware, even switching to open source firmware did nothing. So it seemed to be a computer issue. On the other hand, I have not seen any mass outrage of people having networking problems with Windows 7 and Linksys routers, especially a problem of this sort, and I have tweaked every network setting I could think of. Although HTTP seems to have trouble, ping works fine, DNS lookups work fine, other networking apps work fine. However if I disconnect from Windows Live Messenger and try to reconnect, it fails to reconnect. So although it could receive data over the existing TCP/IP connection, trying to start a new one failed? Does anyone have any further ideas on debugging or fixing this issue? I am reasonably certain there are no viruses or other malicious apps on my network, and I am also reasonably certain that nobody is accessing my router without my consent. Router: Linksys WRT54G2 1.0 running dd-wrt firmware Wireless Card: Alfa AWUS036H OS: Windows 7 64-bit EDIT: I tried switching to a clean wireless channel free from interference, but the problem still persisted. I tried connecting directly with a cable, but the problem still persisted. Signed A very confused and bewildered geek whose knowledge seems to be useless in the face of this frustrating network issue.

What are the risks of shared hosting?

• Networking "chokes" on Windows 7 64 bit

  I've been having this problem for some months now, and I have been unable to figure out a solution, or even the cause. At random points throughout the day, my internet connectivity "freezes". I don't get disconnected from my local wireless network. My router doesn't get disconnected from the world. However, for some reason, my computer stops receiving packets. If I'm playing an MMO ( World of Warcraft, in this case, but it has happened with Eve Online as well ) all activity just freezes. If I try to browse, Opera, Firefox and IE all stall at "Waiting for google.com..." or whatever the hostname may be. Inspection with a packet sniffer seems to reveal that there are no incoming packets. Here's the interesting part. Disconnecting from my wireless network and reconnecting fixes the issue. Obviously this led me to conclude that it was a problem with my router or wireless card. However, I have tweaked all the settings on my router that I could think of, including things like QoS, AP Isolation, etc. with no change. My wireless card doesn't really have that many options, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers a few times without any change. Windows Firewall on/off doesn't make a difference. Anyone have any suggestions for debugging this? It's becoming an annoyance.

• Why subnet mask for IP 10.0.1.4 is 255.255.255.0?

  Well I'm not sure whether I'm missing something here. But all I've read is that if first octet of IP is within 0 - 127 then it is categorized as Class A subnet and correspondingly Subnet Mask for this is 255.0.0.0 but when I connect my system to Apple airport then my system gets IP as 10.0.1.4 however subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 not 255.0.0.0. Please explain what I'm missing here. If there is something like for apple router subnet mask is calculated on some different flags then please let me know.
