• Strange error in PDF2SWF and no file is created

  I'm running Snow Leopard and using PDF2SWF via MacPorts. I tried this out using a simple PDF I made from text and it worked fine so I have a feeling this is a problem with my PDF. Here is the command I'm using: pdf2swf 2166D.pdf -o 2166D.swf It doesn't output any file but it throws these errors: Error: Illegal entry in bfchar block in ToUnicode CMap Error: Illegal entry in bfchar block in ToUnicode CMap NOTICE processing PDF page 1 (612x396:0:0) (move:0:0) Segmentation fault I couldn't find anything in teh Googs so now I come to you Stack Overflow. • Android View.onDraw() always has a clean Canvas

  I am trying to draw an animation. To do so I have extended View and overridden the onDraw() method. What I would expect is that each time onDraw() is called the canvas would be in teh state that I left it in and I could choose to clear it or just draw over parts of it (This is how it worked when I used a SurfaceView) but each time the canvas comes back already cleared. Is there a way that I can not have it cleared? Or maybe save the previous state into a Bitmap so I can just draw that Bitmap and then draw over top of it?

• Adding an attachment to a .NET Email

  How do I attach a file with a very unfriendly name (like a file with a session Id number in it) but have it attached as another name?The file has the session ID in it to avoid clashes name on the web server nut when I attach it to the file, a friendlier name is preferable. Is there a way to attach the file with teh unfriendly name as anotehr name so that when the user gets the email he can tell from the name what the content of the file is? I'd hate to have to create a unique folder just to put a common file name in it for the purpose of simply attaching it to an email. • How to register XHTML namespaces??

  My page use to validate for XHTML but I added the addthis buttons to page and it gives a new namespace: E.G.: <a addthis:url="http://domain.tld/path/to/stuff" addthis:title="Teh Title here"> I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:addthis="http://addthis.com/" lang="en"> Doesn't work. Can we register namespaces for the validator??? I AM EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO VALID XHTML. I like addthis, I think its the best button of its kind (yes, I need to use the namespace properties, I know you dont have to but I do for what im doing PHP project) :(

• datagridview winform tag only brings back the first row value

  I'm using visual studio 2008. I have a datagridview in a winform. I've bound to it using an object Private Sub LoadAllCampers() Dim Os As List(Of LE.Camper) = Nothing Dim Oc As New LE.Camper_Controller Os = Oc.GetCamperData(0) With Me.dgResults .DataSource = Os End With CamperBindingSource.DataSource = Os End Sub I have a tag setup on the ID property within the Camper class. when i double click on a row in teh datagridview, i do a me.dgResults.tag and it always shows the first rows ID value. If i change the ordering within the class, it will display a different value, but it's always the first value in the datagridview. I'm missing something simple to get this working.. just don't know what it is. Hopefully someone can spare a minute.

When I look at the response text in teh DoSubmitComple function it is {"Success": "true" } Every JSON tester I have tried says that this is valied JSON. What am I doing wrong here?

  i am not sure if this is the correct way of doing but i read that you not suppose to have a WCF Service Library reference in your web form project rather you add endpoints to your web.config, is that true? here is what i have done: 1) create a WCF service library project 2) create a simple service called "MyService.svc" WebForm: 1) Create a web project 2) create a WCF Service and in it i have this code <%@ ServiceHost Language="C#" Service="WCFJQuery.ContactBLL.Implementation.ContactUs" Factory="System.ServiceModel.Activation.WebScriptServiceHostFactory" %> 3) right click on the web proejct and "Add Reference" and add teh MyService.dll reference from WCF service library project. is this something how you suppose to do?

  OK, I know how to call a simple old fashion asmx webservice webthod that returns a single value as a function return result. But what if I want to return multiple output params? My current approach is to separate the params by a dividing character and parse them on teh client. Is there a better way. Here's how I return a single function result. • Add/remove UILocalNotification based on changes in my settings bundle

  I have an app that sends a notification at the same time everyday, reminding the user to enter data into it. However, I want to give the user teh option to disable this as this could get very annoying, so I have an "Enable alerts" in a custom settings bundle. My question is, when the user toggles the switch in the settings bundle, can I add/remove the notifications that are already scheduled without having to enter the app again? note: I'm building and supporting for iOS 4.2.1, and I don't konw why but under "notifications" in the settings app, my app does not appear. I see it on ios 5.x devices though

• Convert Audio File to text using System.Speech

  I am looking to convert a .wav file recorded through an android phone at 16000 to text using C#; namely the System.Speech namespace. My code is mentioned below; recognizer.SetInputToWaveFile(Server.MapPath("~/spoken.wav")); recognizer.LoadGrammar(new DictationGrammar()); RecognitionResult result = recognizer.Recognize(); label1.Text = result.Text; The is working perfectly with sample .wav "Hello world" file. However when i record something on teh phone and try to convert to on the pc, the converted text is no where close to what i had recoreded. Is there some way to make sure the audio file is transcribed accurately?

• Work with a local copy of the "master" SVN repo

  Hi, at work, we have a SVN repo, which we access to thorugh http, like: svn co http://user@machine/PATH even at work and for some misterious reasons, teh connections between local machines and the repo machine are very slow, but the connection between home and work is almost impossible. I wonder if I could do somethin like: 1- get a copy of the "master" SVN repo to my local machine 2- each time i make modifications etc, use svn co http://user@MYLOCALmachine/PATH instead of svn co http://user@machine/PATH 3- when I am back at work, "merge" somehow all the modifications in my local repo to the master one. Sorry, I am ewally new to SVN, any hint would be appreciated. Thanks

• PHP upload file using PUT instead of POST

  I read something about this on PHP docs, but it's not celar to me: Do the most widely used browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, Opera, ...) support this PUT method to uplaod files? What HTML should I write to make the browser call the server via PUT request. I mean do I need to write a FORM with an INPUT file field and just replace the attribute method="POST" with the method="PUT"? On the PHP docs (link above) they say a PUT request is much simplier than a POST request when uploading file, along with this advantage, what other advantages/disadvanatges do the PUT has comapred to teh POST? • AJAX calls from multiple browser tabs at the same time:

  When an user tries to send AJAX requests simultaneously from multiple browser tabs, the earlier requests get completed and the page loads but the other AJAX calls are preempted. AS a result of which the response is empty for the other calls. Only one call survives. In my application using struts 2.0, JSP and javascript and the prototype framework, i found that the server response is empty in the cases mentioned above though the data gets updated in teh database with the request parameters. The onSucess event handler for Ajax.request gets called but the the response is empty. Can you please help? Thanks

  Yes, I've read and done teh Google many times but I still can't get this working... maybe I'm an idiot :) I have a system using tickets. Start date is "created_at" in the timestamps. Each ticket closes 7 days after "created_at". In the model, I'm using: def closes (self.created_at + 7.days) end I'm trying to create another method that will take "closes" and return it as how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds are left before the ticket closes. Anyone want to help and/or admonish my skills? ;)

• SSIS process files from folder

  Background: I've a folder that gets pumped with files continuously. My SSIS package needs to process the files and delete them. The SSIS package is scheduled to run once every minute. I'm picking up the files in ascending order of file creation time. I'm building an array of files and then processing-deleting them one at a time. Problem: If an instance of my package takes longer than one minute to run, the next instance of the SSIS package will pick up some of the files the previous instance has in its buffer. By the time the second instance of teh package gets around to processing a file, it may already have been deleted by the first instance, creating an exception condition. I was wondering whether there was a way to avoid the exception condition. Thanks.

• WPF. How do I create many LIstViews with the same look.

  I've defined a listview in my recent project and realized that I will be using more listviews looking exactly the same and having the same solumns. Since I'm new to WPF am I curious of teh best way to do this. Is it to create a usercontrol? Use styles? I've tried to use styles but it didnt work the way I was hoping. I tried to set the "View" property using style, like this. <Style x:Key="ListViewStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListView}"> <Setter Property="View"> <ListView.View> <GridView> But it didnt work so I'm asking for your opinion?! • Datagrid for Symfony?

  I want to use a datagrid in one of my modules (Symfony 1.3, Propel ORM). I have spent a while searching the web, but everything I found expects a direct connection to teh db (mySQL) or is otherwise unsuitable. I found the datagrid plugin (http://symfony.swisscenter.com/datagrid/exemples), but the documentation/examples are in French - and I'm not too keen on learning French just for the sake of using the plugin - besides, if all the users are French speakers, then it will be difficult to get support/help if/when I do hget stuck. So my questions are: Is anyone aware of a good (PHP) datagrid component that I can use with SF? Is anyone out there (English speaker), using the SF datagrid plugin?
