    Instead of installing a new Windows 7 system onto a mac pro partition, is it possible to copy over my complete Windows 7 system directly onto the partition, and get it to run? I just bought the mac pro, and it's running OSX 10.6... Copied from a comment: I wish to make a windows partition on the mac pro startup disk, but instead of installing windows, was wondering if I can copy over from my pc laptop byte for byte my windows system into said partition, and successfully run it

    i have widows seven ultimate install on my laptop but use xp mode for many applications on it, is it possible to return an application in xp mode to an earlier restore point in just xp mode or does the host machine need to be restored i do not wish to make any changes on the host but require to either re install windows virtual pc and all the applications and upgrade them slowly to the point my application fails or restore the applications back? any advise on this will be grately recieved

A big X shows up inside of the video component.

    In my Apache config httpd.conf, I wish to setup a rule like below SetEnvIfNoCase %{QUERY_STRING} ^.*(getBook+)$ no-gzip dont-vary I am hoping to do no-gzip when my URL looks like http://myurl.fake.com/book/getBook3?id=234 http://myurl.fake.com/book/getBook1?id=xxx I am not sure if I can do that by setting up something like the above in httpd.conf.. The reason I do query string is because the url myurl.fake.com/book/getBook3 was mod_rewrite from myurl.fake.com/index.php?controller=book&action=getBook3 Thanks!

    In many Windows programs when I open a file, the GUI dialogue that starts with "Look in:" and provides a list of directories and files to open has a thin panel on the left-hand side with the following 5 icons: Recent Places Desktop Libraries Computer Network Is there a Registry Hack available for adding my own icons to this?   • how can I develop Apple Java Extensions on Windows?

    When I do multi-platform testing on Windows it gets annoying that Eclipse shows errors in the project because of the com.apple.eawt code that I have in a special Mac customization task. Worse yet, if I export a runnable jar on Windows, it won't run on mac because of the unresolved compilation problems. What's the best way to let Windows Java and com.apple.eawt live in peace? I can't see how I would be able to spin off the code to a jar, since it requires access to lots of the program's state. Thanks for your help!     We wish to enable some form of load balancing for a Tomcat webapp we're currently using today. Unfortunately, I know almost to nothing about Tomcat load balancing, clustering and so on. Can anyone share resources that cover the different alternatives, give some handy pointers (maybe some solutions work better in certain types of environment?) or just some tips on solutions to try out? We're currently running Tomcat 5.5 if that makes any difference in features, however no critical obstacles for upgrading to 6.
