    What are cons if we use JavaScript to apply only CSS property to that browser who do not support that property by default? to keep my HTML semantic and keep free from Deprecated HTML. Is it against content, style and Behavior separation? How much it will effect to site accessibility, usability? What are cons? If I make accessible site then should i only use whatever i can do with pure css. shouldn't use JavaScript to apply CSS properties

    Not sure why I can't figure this out. When a user makes a selection, a javascript method is called, at which point I want to add a calendardateselect to an existing div tag from the javascript. According to the docs, it seems like this should work: var a = new CalendarDateSelect( document.getElementById("date_area"), {embedded:true, year_range:10} ); $('date_area').insert(a); ... or maybe this.... var newScript = document.createElement('script'); newScript.type = 'text/javascript'; var tn = document.createTextNode("new CalendarDateSelect( $(this).previous() )"); newScript.appendChild(tn); $('date_area').insert(newScript); http://code.google.com/p/calendardateselect/wiki/JavascriptDocumentation But neither of them are working. I feel like I've tried everything. Ideas?

I have creates a generic service_info.html with an empty layout template, but I don't understand how to pass serviceID to this new page so that it gets customized with the detailed service info. How can I do this? Or, is there a better way to handle these situations? Thanks!

Is it sin to to use JavaScript for visual enhancement, like to enable border radius in IE using Javascript and from CSS in other browsers?

    I am looking for general opinions and suggestions about the site in whole. Its ok I don't mind hearing where I went wrong on anything. I'm still learning. All tips and pointers on any subject relating are highly welcome. If you are going to make a suggestion and post a snippet or code please explain how it works in detail. The site was design as a interface to display the labs I have to do in my college (the labs are all basic things that I'm way beyond). So I decided to take it all to the next level with this. (I could not think of anything better to draw) There is no specific area of the site I want suggestions or opinions on this is a general question. Is there a mistake in the code, or is there any better code to do this?

    Is there any Inheritance problem with <table>, tr th td tbody thead tfoot also like form elements? In IE 6+ and FF 3+ with Strict doctype. Tables also have inheritance turned off in some browsers. You may notice that in some browsers, your tables’ text will be larger, clunkier and not so pretty. This is also due to inheritance. Many browsers give tables their own style. It's mentioned here http://www.komodomedia.com/blog/2006/10/css-trickery-part-5-inheritance/ For which browsers author is talking about, it's not mentioned I tested on FF 3.6 and IE7 but unable to find is there any issue. I just wanted to be sure before adding this in my CSS reset. Do i really need this? table { font-family:inherit; font-size:inherit; font-weight:inherit; }

  • What's making my page extend slightly beyond the viewport? [CSS]

    Basically I'm a tad confused. You'll see at http://furnace.howcode.com , in the second column, the bottom scrollbar button is extended slightly beyond the end of the viewport. I'm pretty confused as I've been examining the CSS and can't find anything that's causing this. Can you have a look? It's probably something simple that I've just missed! :) Screenshot:
