  I have tried to connect my index.php file in 000webhost.com using jQuery. From the site menu I have connected with 000webhost using FTP details available in 000webhost.com. When I tried to read data from jQuery it doesn’t working. Anyone please tell me what should I need to change? Should I need to connect my Dreamweaver database to webhost? If yes please explain? • (Python/Pyramid) Better ways to have standard list/form editors?

  I'm working on a number of Pyramid (former Pylons) projects, and often I have the need to display a list of some content (let's say user accounts, log entries or simply some other data). A user should be able to paginate through the list, click on a row and get a form where he/she can edit the contents of that row. Right now I'm always re-inventing the wheel by having Mako templates which use webhelpers for the pagination, Jquery UI for providing a dialog and I craft the editor form and AJAX requests on the client and server side by hand. As you may know, this eats up painfully much time. So what I'm wondering is: Is there a better way of providing lists, editor dialog and server/client communication about this, without having to re-invent the wheel every time? I heard Django takes off a big load of that by providing user accounts and other stuff out of the box; but in my case it's not just about user accounts, it can be any kind of data that is stored on the server-side in a SQL database, which should be able to be edited by a user.   I am trying to create a function which maps a recurring pattern of integers using an array. As an example if I have a starting array of (0,1,3) and I know that I want to stop the pattern when I hit 15. The pattern gets incremented by a fixed integer each time (lets say 4) so my final pattern should be.. 0 1 3 4 (0 + 4) 5 (1 + 4) 7 (2 + 4) 8 (4 + 4) 9 (5 + 4) 11(7 + 4) 12(8 + 4) 13(9 + 4) 15(11+ 4) Does anyone have any pointers on how this can be achieved? I need to find out who those users are, hence the first query. Once I find them, I throw them into an array. Then comes the difficult part. I want those newly partnerless users (5,6,7) to be randomly assigned new partners from everyone in the table. The current code is flawed in that it only assigns the newly partnerless users eachother. • Handling primary key duplicates in a data warehouse load

  I'm currently building an ETL system to load a data warehouse from a transactional system. The grain of my fact table is the transaction level. In order to ensure I don't load duplicate rows I've put a primary key on the fact table, which is the transaction ID. I've encountered a problem with transactions being reversed - In the transactional database this is done via a status, which I pick up and I can work out if the transaction is being done, or rolled back so I can load a reversal row in the warehouse. However, the reversal row will have the same transaction ID and so I get a primary key violation. I've solved this for now by negating the primary key, so transaction ID 1 would be a payment, and transaction ID -1 (In the warehouse only) would be the reversal. I have considered an alternative of generating a BIT column, where 0 is normal and 1 is reversal, then making the PK the transaction ID and the BIT column. My question is, is this a good practice, and has anyone else encountered anything like this? For reference, this is a payment processing system, so values will not be modified, so there will only ever be transactions and reversals.

• Export to csv, string w/ comma in it, splits it up

  This code exports data into a csv file, which is opened within Excel. When a string has a comma within it, it messes up the order of the data. I need help modifying my code below to resolve any data that contains a comma within it, to not to create a new column. I am assuming it will pass each string within double quotes, so any comma within those quotes, then it will make an exception.   Hi Im making i photo sharint site I want to give the ability for my users to prevent the public to acces their albums with a password. Then they can give the password to the ones they want to be able to see it. To password protect their albums. • Floats not clearing properly in IE - how to fix?

  I've been banging my head for about an hour now, and I've distilled the problem down to the simplest example I can think of that shows the problem. The CSS/HTML <style> #T div { float: left; } ._b { clear: left; } </style> <div id='T'> <div class='_a'>*</div> <div class='_b'>*</div> <div class='_c'>*</div> <div class='_d'>*</div> </div> IE7 *** * FF, Chrome, Opera * *** The result in FF/Chrome/Opera is what I'd expect. There's no adding more mark-up to fix this and I'm absolutely befuddled on to how to make it work properly in IE. It gets really ugly when you have say, 3 all on a row to themselves and then 3 meant to be on the same line -- the extra 2 end up on the first row. I really hope someone knows the work-around for this.

• Structuring iPhone/iPad application views

  I have an idea about an application that I want to build and Im new to iPhone/iPad development (but not new to development in other languages/frameworks such as .NET and Java). I want to layout some views on the screen so that they animate (slide in) from different directions into their places. The question is about the strucuture of the application, if I have say 4 rectanglular areas on the screen that contain business data, such as contacts (name, photo, etc...) and they all take up different widths of the screen (say the first contact takes up one row of the screen, but the next 2 take up half the width of the next row each, and so on). Should I create a custom view for the different sized contact views, (i.e. LargeCustomView and SmallCustomView, and any other special type that I make) or should it all be one type, say, CustomerDetailsView which could be stretched to fit at design time? Also, if there were, say, 3 different instances of the same custom view on the one screen, are there 3 instances of the view controller also? Im a little confused about powering the data behind a view, can someone shed some light on this for me? Do I just set the properties (say an instance variable ContactForView) on the view controller for each instance? Thanks for any help you can give Cheers, Mark

• getting string.substring(N) not to choke when N > string.length

  I'm writing some code that takes a report from the mainframe and converts it to a spreadsheet. They can't edit the code on the MF to give me a delimited file, so I'm stuck dealing with it as fixed width. It's working okay now, but I need to get it more stable before I release it for testing. My problem is that in any given line of data, say it could have three columns of numbers, each five chars wide at positions 10, 16, and 22. If on this one particular row, there's no data for the last two cols, it won't be padded with spaces; rather, the length of the string will be only 14. So, I can't just blindly have dim s as string = someStream.readline a = s.substring(10, 5) b = s.substring(16, 5) c = s.substring(22, 5) because it'll choke when it substrings past the length of the string. I know I could test the length of the string before processing each row, and I have automated the filling of some of the vsariables using a counter and a loop, and using the counter*theWidthOfTheGivenVariable to jump around, but this project was a dog to start with (come on! turning a report into a spreadsheet?), but there are many different types of rows (it's not just a grid), and the code's getting ugly fast. I'd like this to be clean, clear, and maintainable for the poor sucker that gets this after me. If it matters, here's my code so far (it's really crufty at the moment). You can see some of my/its idiocy in the processSection#data subs So, I'm wondering 1) is there a way baked in to .NET to have string.substring not error when reading past the end of a string without wrapping it in a try...catch? and 2) would it be appropriate in this situation to write a new string class that inherits from string that has a more friendly substring function in it? ETA: Thanks for all the advice and knowledge everyone. I'll go with the extension. Hopefully one of these years, I'll get my chops up enough to pay someone back in kind. :)

  I am attempting to narrow results of an existing complex query based on conditional matches on multiple columns within the returned data set. I'll attempt to simplify the data as much as possible here. I have tried putting them both in a single span and setting the whitespace to nowrap, but at no avail. Please, could you tell me how I can simply put these elements in a single row, without setting the float attribute in CSS and without surrounding each table with a <td> {table} </td> and then putting this in a table row. • UITableView populating EVERY OTHER launch

  I am having a problem that I cant seem to get to the bottom of. In my view did load code, I am creating an array and attempting to populate the table. For some reason it only populates the data on EVERY OTHER time the app is run. I put logs in viewDidLoad which runs as does viewWillAppear and outputs the correct count for the array. Also, the UITableView specicic methods get called when it works and they just don't get called when it doesnt work. I cant figure out the root of this problem. Again this occurrence happens exactly 50% of the time. • Require reasonably random results from an SQL SELECT query within a Joomla article (Cache enabled)

  Setup: Joomla website on LAMP stack I have a MySQL table containing some records, these are queried by a simple SELECT on the Joomla article, as pasted below. This specific Joomla website has Caching turned on in Joomla's Global Configuration. I need to randomize the order in which I display the resultset, each time the page is loaded. Regular php/mysql would offer me two approaches for this: 1. use 'order by RAND()' or any of a number of methods to allow a SELECT query to return reasonably random results. 2. once php gets the result from the SELECT into an array, shuffle the array to get a reasonably random order of array items. However, as this Joomla instance has Caching turned ON in its Global Configuration, either of the above approaches fails. The first time I load the page the order is randomized, however any further reloads do not cause the order to change, as the page is delivered from cache. The instant the Cache is disabled, both approaches (shuffle/order by rand) work perfectly. What am I missing? How do I override the Global Cache for this specific article? A very simple requirement, that is met by both php and mysql reasonably well, is blocked by the Joomla Cache that I cannot turn off. • Ordering by number of rows?

  Alright, so I have a table outputting data from a MySQL table in a while loop. Well one of the columns it outputs isn't stored statically in the table, instead it's the sum of how many times it appears in a different MySQL table. Sorry I'm not sure this is easy to understand. As you can see it's grabbing data from two different MySQL tables. However I want to be able to ORDER BY $boots DESC. But as its a counting of a completely different table, I have no idea of how to go about doing that. I would appreciate any help, thank you.

  I've got a pretty standard call to a MySQL database and for some reason I can't get the code to work. Here's what I have: $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost","username","password"); if (!$mysqli) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysqli_error($mysqli)); } session_start(); $sql = "SELECT * FROM jobs ORDER BY id DESC"; $result = $mysqli->query($sql); $num_rows = mysqli_num_rows($result); Now, first, I know that it is connecting properly because I'm not getting the die method plus I added an else conditional in there previously and it checked out. Then the page displays but I get the errors: Warning: mysqli_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in blablabla/index.php on line 11 Warning: mysqli_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in blablabla/index.php on line 12 I've double-checked my database and there is a table called jobs with a row of "id" (it's the primary row). The thing that confuses me is this is code that I literally copied and pasted from another site I built and for some reason the code doesn't work on this one (I obviously copy and pasted it and then just changed the table name and rows accordingly). I saw the error and tried: $num_rows = $mysqli_result->num_rows; $row_array = $mysqli_result->fetch_array; and that fixed the errors but resulted in no data being passed (because obviously $mysqli_result has no value). I don't know why the error is calling for that (is it a difference in version of MySQL or PHP from the other site)? Can someone help me track down the problem? Thanks so much. Sorry if it's something super simple that I'm overlooking, I've been at it for a while.

And then another column that holds a JButton to open up another screen with the corresponding Appointment as parameter.

  I am using XSLT for a website based on the 960 grid css framework. I have columns of divs that span across the page if it is the first div in a row it should have a class first applied, if it is the middle one then no class and if it is the 3rd in the row it should have the class last applied. I am really scratching my head as the best way to go about this any help is appreciated.
