• MySQLdb not INSERTING, _mysql does fine.

  Okay, I log onto the MySQL command-line client as root. I then open or otherwise run a python app using the MySQLdb module as root. When I check the results using python (IDLE), everything looks fine. When I use the MySQL command-line client, no INSERT has occurred. If I change things around to _mysql instead of MySQLdb, everything works fine. I'd appreciate any clarification(s). • Android Phonegap - TIMEOUT ERROR when trying to set a WebViewClient

  I'm working with Android and Phonegap, and at the moment I'm having trouble with one simple thing. I need to setup a webViewClient to the PhoneGap webView in order to capture the URL of a page finished and to work with that. • Different ways to use properties file in j2ee app

  I have a j2ee app using Struts2. I have a gloabl properties file which is declared in struts.properties which resides in WEB-INF/classes. It has the following setting: struts.custom.i18n.resources=mypropertyfile mypropertyfile also resides in WEB-INF/classes Say for example it contains the following: pdf.test.title=PDF Test then on jsp I use the following to make use of the property file <s:text name="pdf.test.title"/> This setup was working on Sun App server 8.2 but is not working on GlassFish App Server (I see pdf.test.title on the browser rather than PDF Test). I do not have access to GlassFish App server to try and tweak the setting to make it work. So I want to make changes to the code and see if that will help. My question is: What are some other ways to use properties file in a J2EE app? (using Struts2 or not). I'm also open to ways suggested to make changes on glassfish to make this work? • How to override the behavior of Spring @Autowired

  Hi a little background: I am Using Spring 2.5, and specifically spring IOC and annotations. I am using @Autowired in my code (the Autowiring is done by type) and use @Component for exposing Classes to the Automatic wiring. The situation described bellow arose while i tried to test my code. now to the problem: Note: i use a different Spring Context for the Test environment. I have a class FOO which is @Autowired but in the test context i want to use a different class of the same type MockFoo (extends FOO) The Spring Setup of course fails do so automatically due to multiple options for the Dependency Injection of the FOO class (both FOO and MockFOO comply to the Type check) I am looking for a way to inject the test bean instead of the original bean. I expected Spring to allow using the Context configurion file to override a bean injection or to order Spring not to autowire a specific bean BUT All these option seem to exists only for the beans which were originally defined in the Spring Context Configuration file

I create a table below with an xml column and declare a variable, initialize it and Insert the Value into the xml column, create table CustomerInfo (XmlConfigInfo xml) declare @StrTemp nvarchar(2000) set @StrTemp = '<Test></Test>' insert into [CustomerInfo](XmlConfigInfo) values (@StrTemp) Then comes the part of the question,, if I write this... update [CustomerInfo] set XmlConfigInfo.modify('insert <Info></Info> into (//Test)[1]') -- Works Fine!!! but when I try this, set @StrTemp = 'insert <Info></Info> into (//Test)[1]' update [CustomerInfo] set XmlConfigInfo.modify(@StrTemp) -- Doesn't Work!!! and throws an error The argument 1 of the xml data type method "modify" must be a string literal. is there a way around for this one? I tried this, but it is not working :(

  Hi, I'm looking for an idiomatic way to get dynamically scoped variables in Clojure (or a similar effect) for use in templates and such. Here is an example problem using a lookup table to translate tag attributes from some non-HTML format to HTML, where the table needs access to a set of variables supplied from elsewhere: (def *attr-table* ; Key: [attr-key tag-name] or [boolean-function] ; Value: [attr-key attr-value] (empty array to ignore) ; Context: Variables "tagname", "akey", "aval" '( ; translate :LINK attribute in <a> to :href [:LINK "a"] [:href aval] ; translate :LINK attribute in <img> to :src [:LINK "img"] [:src aval] ; throw exception if :LINK attribute in any other tag [:LINK] (throw (RuntimeException. (str "No match for " tagname))) ; ... more rules ; ignore string keys, used for internal bookkeeping [(string? akey)] [] )) ; ignore I want to be able to evaluate the rules (left hand side) as well as the result (right hand side), and need some way to put the variables in scope at the location where the table is evaluated. I also want to keep the lookup and evaluation logic independent of any particular table or set of variables. I suppose there are similar issues involved in templates (for example for dynamic HTML), where you don't want to rewrite the template processing logic every time someone puts a new variable in a template. The constructor of the derived class needs a MethodInfo of the base class constructor so that it can invoke it. However, for some reason Type.GetConstructor() returns null.   I have been suggested to use should:rise in my test case to test for errors that a method might raise. For some reason it does not work as axpected, so I want to verify that I'm doing it right. Here is the code in the test case: self should: [aMyClass compareTo: 'This is a string'] raise: 'invalid input'. My compareTo/1 method looks like this: (aMyClass isKindOf: MyClass) ifFalse: [self error: 'invalid input'.]. The test runner output is that there is "1 errors". Thank you.

• Spring Annotation trailing slash

  I have a controller with @RequestMapping for root path "/". There are other controllers with say a @RequestMapping of "/test" etc. My application seems to be mapping correctly for paths like /appname/test, but if I add a trailing slash to the path, like so "/appname/test/ then it maps to the controller that has the @RequestMapping for root path "/". Any idea why?

  I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

  I have a jQuery AJAX call with type:'GET' like this: $.ajax({type:'GET',url:'/createUser',data:"userId=12345&userName=test"}, success:function(data){ alert('successful'); } ); In my console output is: GET:http://sample.com/createUser?userId=12345&userName=test params: userId 12345 userName test In my script i should get the value using $_GET['userId'] and $_GET['userName'] but i can't get the value passed in by ajax request using GET method.   Here's the scenario: I have 2 tables: CREATE TABLE dbo.API_User ( id int NOT NULL, name nvarchar(255) NOT NULL, authorization_key varchar(255) NOT NULL, is_active bit NOT NULL ) ON [PRIMARY] CREATE TABLE dbo.Single_Sign_On_User ( id int NOT NULL IDENTITY (1, 1), API_User_id int NOT NULL, external_id varchar(255) NOT NULL, user_id int NULL ) ON [PRIMARY] What I am trying to return is the following: is_active for a given authorization_key The Single_Sign_On_User.id that matches the external_id/API_User_id pair if it exists or NULL if there is no such pair When I try this query: SELECT Single_Sign_On_User.id, API_User.is_active FROM API_User LEFT OUTER JOIN Single_Sign_On_User ON Single_Sign_On_User.API_User_id = API_User.id WHERE Single_Sign_On_User.external_id = 'test_ext_id' AND API_User.authorization_key = 'test' where the "test" API_User record exists but the "test_ext_id" record does not, and with no other values in either table, I get no records returned. When I use: SELECT Single_Sign_On_User.id, API_User.is_active FROM API_User LEFT OUTER JOIN Single_Sign_On_User ON Single_Sign_On_User.API_User_id = API_User.id WHERE API_User.authorization_key = 'test' I get the results I expect (NULL, 1), but that query doesn't allow me to find the "test_ext_id" record if it exists but would give me all records associated with the "test" API_User record. How can I get the results I am after?

• Case insensitive string compare in LINQ-to-SQL

  I've read that it's unwise to use ToUpper and ToLower to perform case-insensitive string comparisons, but I see no alternative when it comes to LINQ-to-SQL. The ignoreCase and CompareOptions arguments of String.Compare are ignored by LINQ-to-SQL (if you're using a case-sensitive database, you get a case-sensitive comparison even if you ask for a case-insensitive comparison). Is ToLower or ToUpper the best option here? Is one better than the other? I thought I read somewhere that ToUpper was better, but I don't know if that applies here. (I'm doing a lot of code reviews and everyone is using ToLower.) Dim s = From row In context.Table Where String.Compare(row.Name, "test", StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase) = 0 This translates to an SQL query that simply compares row.Name with "test" and will not return "Test" and "TEST" on a case-sensitive database.

• Use a folder of xml files as data source for nhibernate

  I'm going to start writing NUnit tests for a few classes in my project. A certain number of these classes use data gathered through nhibernate from a sql server 2008 database. The part of the program I'm about to test is very specific (and complicated). Therefore I have made a folder of xml files. Combined, the xml files could result in the database structure. I mean each xml file corresponds to a table in the database. The data in the xml files is also consistent with the database. Is there a way to use this folder of xml files as data source for nhibernate? I mean: can I use nhibernate to gather my test data (wich I have specifically chosen) instead of data from the database? In this way, I could usefully test this component without corrrupting the (test) database for future tests.
