  • Visual Studio SVN integration

    Is there any way to properly integrate Subversion control into VS2008? I'm currently using the TortoiseSVN shell extensions, but I keep forgetting to check in new files and it's easy to get in a confused mess. On another project I use VS2008 with SourceSafe, and it's really nice having most things automated or controlled simply by using VS in its normal way.

  • PHP Netbeans 6.8 subversion integration (Windows 7)

    I am using Netbeans 6.8 for PHP (under Windows 7) and the subversion integration doesn't work. I am able to checkout a module but I don't see the subversion features in the menus or the outine in the editor left margin that shows the changes in the files. I am using it under Ubuntu with no problems. Did any of you experimented the same problem? If yes, were you able to make it work? Thanks!

    I'm trying to figure out how to operate a rather large Java program, 'prog'. If I go to its /bin/ dir and configure its setenv.sh and prog.sh to use local directories and my current user account. Then I try to run it via "./prog.sh start". So I'm no longer so certain that the process is always running when I ps for it, although the code sample above indicates that it at least runs erratically. I'll continue looking into this undocumented behemoth when I return to work tomorrow.

  • Best Practice for Shell Layout and Switching Views - Prism, SL4, On Demand Load Modules

    I am learning Prism, and I have a question on the best approach for the main Shell. Assuming the Shell has 2 regions: Toolbar, Main. The toolbar has 3 main buttons that each represent a different On Demand Load Module. Each of these modules currently register themselves as fitting in the Main Region. When I click one of the buttons I want to do the following: Notify any active view that its switching, with an option to cancel if there is a pending action still required. This might cascade to child views. If the action isn't cancelled then load the on demand module if it has not yet been loaded, else activate it within the region. Should these three modules all fit in the same Region or should my shell have 3 regions defined within content presenters? One of the areas I got stuck on was that when you register a view from the Module Initialize, it doesn't get added with a strongly typed name, so when I tried to determine if my view was already added to the region with GetView(viewname) it always returns null, so I end up adding another view to the region.

  • emacs: Inferior-mode python-shell appears "lagged"

    Hi all - I'm a Python(3.1.2)/emacs(23.2) newbie teaching myself tkinter using the pythonware tutorial found here. Relevant code is pasted below the question. Question: when I click the Hello button (which should call the say_hi function) why does the inferior python shell (i.e. the one I kicked off with C-c C-c) wait to execute the say_hi print function until I either a) click the Quit button or b) close the root widget down? When I try the same in IDLE, each click of the Hello button produces an immediate print in the IDLE python shell, even before I click Quit or close the root widget. Is there some quirk in the way emacs runs the Python shell (vs. IDLE) that causes this "lagged" behavior? I've noticed similar emacs lags vs. IDLE as I've worked through Project Euler problems, but this is the clearest example I've seen yet. FYI: I use python.el and have a relatively clean init.el...     When I start a process like process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("gnome-terminal");, it starts shell execution. I want to stop shell execution and want to redirect I/O from process, can anybody tell how I can do this?   • Multiple WPFPreviewHandlers in One Window? Can it be done?

    Here is the scenario. I am building a part of my desktop app up and I have a need to create a preview handler. I found plenty of examples on the web of a WPF Preview handler, but I wanted to go one step more than just that. Lets say we have multiple documents and I wished to compare them. So the ideal scenario would be able to see documents side by side in a collection. Sort of how BING does their image search. But the more documents I select in a list box, the more documents I can compare all at once. The second Ideal solution would be a tabbed interface. One tab for each document. Sort of like how internet browsers are doing it now. Understand? So here is the question that I have been struggling with. I can get one preview to work in a window, but can’t get the second one to show up. This is all WPF code so maybe im doing something wrong, but can you preview more than one document in a window at a time? My thought is no, because the previewhandler needs a window handler to lock onto. I would love small code sample since COM and handlers aren’t my sort of thing, but I can manage if you are just able to point me down the right track. What's next?!?!! It seems like a darn mystery to build a boost code! Been digging on it for more than 10 hours.     Using CentOs, I want to run a script as user 'training' as a system service. I use daemontools to monitor the process, which needs a launcher script that is run as root and has no tty standard in. Below I give my four different attempts which all fail. : #!/bin/bash exec >> /var/log/training_service.log 2>&1 setuidgid training training_command This last line is not good enough since for training_command, we need environment for trqaining user to be set. : su - training -c 'training_command' This looks like it (http://serverfault.com/questions/44400/run-a-shell-script-as-a-different-user) but gives 'standard in must be tty' as su making sure tty is present to potentially accept password. I know I could make this disappear by modifying /etc/sudoers (a la http://superuser.com/questions/119376/bash-su-script-giving-an-error-standard-in-must-be-a-tty) but i am reluctant and unsure of consequences. : runuser - training -c 'training_command' This one gives runuser: cannot set groups: Connection refused. I found no sense or resolution to this error. : ssh -p100 training@localhost 'source $HOME/.bashrc; training_command' This one is more of a joke to show desparation. Even this one fails with Host key verification failed. (the host key IS in known_hosts, etc). Note: all of 2,3,4 work as they should if I run the wrapper script from a root shell. problems only occur if the system service monitor (daemontools) launches it (no tty terminal I guess). I am stuck. Is this something so hard to achieve? I appreciate all insight and guidance to best practice.     Background So I am attempting to load a jnilib (specifically JOGL) into java on OSX at runtime. I have been following along the relevant stackoverflow questions: Maven and the JOGL Library Loading DLL in Java - Eclipse - JNI How to make a jar file that include all jar files The end goal for me is to package platform specific JOGL files into a jar and unzip them into a temp directory and load them at start-up. I worked my problem back to simply attempting to load JOGL using hard-coded paths: File f = new File("/var/folders/+n/+nfb8NHsHiSpEh6AHMCyvE+++TI/-Tmp-/libjogl.jnilib"); System.load(f.toString()); f = new File ("/var/folders/+n/+nfb8NHsHiSpEh6AHMCyvE+++TI/-Tmp-/libjogl_awt.jnilib"); System.load(f.toString()); I get the following exception when attempting to use the JOGL API: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no jogl in java.library.path But when I specify java.library.path by adding the following JVM option: -Djava.library.path="/var/folders/+n/+nfb8NHsHiSpEh6AHMCyvE+++TI/-Tmp-/" Everything works fine. Question Is it possible use System.load (or some other variant) on OSX as a replacement for -Djava.library.path that is invoked at runtime?

  • Newbie: get access privilege

    I am newbie on Linux Ubuntu machine. I logged in to the Ubuntu with username: student. There are some directories only allowed root user to access, for example /var/lib/mysql ,(I know I can use sudo to access but it is not what I want). If I want to get the access privilege on those directories with student account, is it so that I can run the following command : chown student: PATH_TO_ROOT_USER_PRIVILEGED_DIR and after that, I can access that directory by using my own account ? am I right? If I am right, then will root user lose the access privilege because I changed it to student user? If I am wrong, please tell me the right solution. P.S. please don't concern on what I am going to do on /var/lib/mysql directory, that is only my example, as I mentioned above, I mean generally *for those directories which only have root privilege*, can I use chown to change access privilege and will root user then loose the access because of the change made by chown ? I just wanna know the effect of chown.

Can anyone help me out in the installation procedure? I had tried CPAN didn't really worked out. Any help would be appreciated.   • How can I disable the CTRL-ALT-DEL key combination completely on XP/Vista/7?

    I have been googling extensively to figure this out, and nobody seems to be able to give a direct answer. Let me start by saying that I'm NOT talking about requiring CTRL-ALT-DEL to enter logon information. I'm working on a golf simulator program which is used at golf centers. I need the ability to completely disable the CTRL-ALT-DEL key sequence so that the golf center customers can't get out of the program and access the computer at all. I realize there are other key combinations that need to be handled as well, we already have this entire feature working in XP, but we're going to be switching to Windows 7 soon, and CTRL-ALT-DEL is the only one that doesn't seem to work in Win7. I'd really like an all-around solution if at all possible. This same program may also be installed on a client's personal computer for an in-home golf simulator, but the computers that really need this feature (golf center computers) are provided to the golf center by us, so would the best option be to write a new shell? I don't know anything about that at all, other than others that suggest writing a new shell for kiosk mode. I'd really like a simpler option, like modifying the registry in some way. I have heard that you can remove some buttons from the menu screen that pops up, but unless I can remove pretty much all of them (including the shutdown/restart button in the bottom-right corner), this won't be enough of a solution for me.
