    In AppEngine, I have a form that prompts a user for a date. The problem is that when the clicks enter there is an error: "Enter a Valid Date" How do I make my Form accept (for example) %d-%b-%Y as the date format?   • How to check if a variable exists in a FreeMarker template?

    Hi, I have a Freemarker template which contains a bunch of placeholders for which values are supplied when the template is processed. I want to conditionally include part of the template if the userName variable is supplied, something like: [#if_exists userName] Hi ${userName}, How are you? [/#if_exists] However, the FreeMarker manual seems to indicate that if_exists is deprecated, but I can't find another way to achieve this. Of course, I could simple providing an additional boolean variable isUserName and use that like this: [#if isUserName] Hi ${userName}, How are you? [/#if] But if there's a way of checking whether userName exists then I can avoid adding this extra variable. Cheers, Don

  • Apps with lable XYZ could not be found

    Hello folks, today I ran into an error and have no clue how to fix it. Error: App with label XYZ could not be found. Are you sure your INSTALLED_APPS setting is correct? Where XYZ stands for the app-name that I am trying to reset. This error shows up every time I try to reset it (manage.py reset XYZ). Show all the sql code works. Even manage.py validate shows no error. I already commented out every single line of code in the models.py that I touched the last three monts. (function by function, model by model) And even if there are no models left I get this error. Here http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/10706 I found a bugreport about this error. I also applied one the patches to allocate the error, it raises an exception so you have a trace back, but even there is no sign in what of my files the error occurred. I don't want to paste my code right now, because it is nearly 1000 lines of code in the file I edited the most. If someone of you had the same error please tell me were I can look for the problem. In that case I can post the important part of the source. Otherwise it would be too much at once. Thank you for helping!!!

    Hay, I'm working on a simple voting system, where users can vote on a poll. My model looks like this class Poll(models.Model): question = models.CharField() votes = models.IntegerField() usersVoted = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now, i want to scan through the usersVoted field to see if a User object is in there. This User object will then be matched against a logged in User (User obj saved in a session). If the User has voted i want to be able to set a 'has_voted' field. I then want to use this field in my view. I will be using the Property() thingy inside the model to work this 'has_voted' value out. Like so def _can_vote(self): return False can_vote = property(_can_vote) Obviously it'll return a Bool. Any ideas how to search through a related field to find a specific Object?

If I change the file path and the file name to a valid image C:/pic.jpg is downloaded damaged too. What Im missing in this download view?

    Hey, Imagine you have this model: class Category(models.Model): node_id = models.IntegerField(primary_key = True) type_id = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) parent_id = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) sort_order = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) name = models.CharField(max_length = 45) lft = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) rgt = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) depth = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) added_on = models.DateTimeField(auto_now = True) updated_on = models.DateTimeField(auto_now = True) status = models.IntegerField(max_length = 20) node = models.ForeignKey(Category_info, verbose_name = 'Category_info', to_field = 'node_id' The important part is the foreignkey. When I try: Category.objects.filter(type_id = 15, parent_id = offset, status = 1) I get an error that get returned more than category, which is fine, because it is supposed to return more than one. But I want to filter the results trough another field, which would be type id (from the second Model) Here it is: class Category_info(models.Model): objtree_label_id = models.AutoField(primary_key = True) node_id = models.IntegerField(unique = True) language_id = models.IntegerField() label = models.CharField(max_length = 255) type_id = models.IntegerField() The type_id can be any number from 1 - 5. I am desparately trying to get only one result where the type_id would be number 1. Here is what I want in sql: SELECT c.*, ci.* FROM category c JOIN category_info ci ON (c.node_id = ci.node_id) WHERE c.type_id = 15 AND c.parent_id = 50 AND ci.type_id = 1 Any help is GREATLY appreciated.   • ajax isUpload (Jquery)

    Hi all, I was some time ago busy with ExtJS and ajax. I've have some data in csv format that i return. With ExtJS you can use the option isUpload to popup a file "filename.csv" where you can click save / open etc. Now i'm moving all ExtJS to Jquery and i don't seem to find something which handles this in Jquery, there is no option isUpload in ajax with jquery i guess? Does someone knows how to fix this? Thanks in advance

  • simplejson double escapes data causing invalid JSON string

    I have a simple form for managing manufacturers in my shop. After posting form, ajax call returns json with updated data to the form. Problem is, that the returned string is invalid. It looks like it was double-escaped. Strangely similar approach across the whole shop works without any problems. I'm also using jquery 1.6 as javascript framework. Model contains of 3 fields : char for name, text for description and image field for manufacturer logo.     I have multiple models which all have a FK to the same model. All I know is the FK how can I determine which of the models has the FK attached? Below an example to clearify: class ModelA(models.Model): title = models.CharField("title", max_length=80) class ModelB(models.Model): fk = models.ForeignKey(ModelA) class ModelC(models.Model): fk = models.ForeignKey(ModelA) How can I figure out without using a try/except on each model whether B or C has the FK? (The FK can only be in one of them, for the record in this case I only added two models but in the real world app there are multiple possible x amount of models which have the FK to modelA)

  • Can this be imporved? Scrubing of dangerous html tags.

    Hi I been finding that for something that I consider pretty import there is very little information or libraries on how to deal with this problem. I found this while searching. I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything?   • Python fCGI + sqlAlchemy = malformed header from script. Bad header=FROM tags : index.py

    I'm writing an Fast-CGI application that makes use of sqlAlchemy & MySQL for persistent data storage. I have no problem connecting to the DB and setting up ORM (so that tables get mapped to classes); I can even add data to tables (in memory). But, as soon as I query the DB (and push any changes from memory to storage) I get a 500 Internal Server Error and my error.log records malformed header from script. Bad header=FROM tags : index.py, when tags is the table name. Any idea what could be causing this? Also, I don't think it matters, but its a Linux development server talking to an off-site (across the country) MySQL server.
