• Set Server Side OnClick() event Programmatically

  I am looking for a way to programmatically set the OnClick event handler for a TableCell object. The ASP equivalent of what I'm trying to do will look like this: <asp:TableCell OnClick="clickHandler" runat="server">Click Me!</asp:TableCell> In the above example, "clickHandler" is a server-side function defined in the .cs CodeBehind. public virtual void clickHandler(object sender, EventArgs args) {...} However, for my situation, this TableCell object needs to be created dynamically, so setting it in an ASP tag is not an option. I am trying to do something like the following in the CodeBehind: System.Web.UI.WebControls.TableRow row = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.TableRow(); System.Web.UI.WebControls.TableCell cell = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.TableCell(); cell.Text = "Click Me!"; cell.Attributes.Add("onClick", "clickHandler"); row.Cells.Add(cell); Unfortunately, in this situation: cell.Attributes.Add("onClick", "clickHandler"); the "clickHandler" only works as a client-side javascript function. What I'm looking for is a way to link the server-side clickHandler() function, defined in the .cs CodeBehind, to this table cell. • .NET CF -- Set Form height based on InputPanel state

  Hi, So, I've got a C# project for Windows Mobile phones and I'm trying to work with the InputPanel. Specifically, I've got one form with a stack of Labels and TextBoxes that collect user input. I have an InputPanel that alerts me when the user opens the SIP. Everything works fine so far. When I get messages that the SIP status has changed, I want to change the height of the Form, which doesn't seem possible. Here's my event handler for my InputPanel: void m_InputPanel_EnabledChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { // :( this assignment operation doesn't work and it doesn't this.ClientSize = inputPanel1.VisibleDesktop.Size; // doesn't work this.Size = inputPanel1.VisibleDesktop.Size; // assignment operation works, but isn't very useful this.visibleHeight = inputPanel1.VisibleDesktop.Height; this.InitializeUI(); } When I say that the assignment operation doesn't work, I mean that the values don't change in the debugger. I can understand that maybe I can't change the size of a Form, but I can't understand why trying to change it wouldn't throw an exception, or give a compiler error. I have my Form WindowState set to Normal instead of Maximized, but it doesn't make a difference. Also, I have read http://www.christec.co.nz/blog/archives/42 this page that tells me how I'm supposed to do this, but I can't easily put all of my controls in a Panel because I'm using a bunch of custom stuff to do alpha background controls.

• Reflection: cast an object to subclass without use instaceof

  I have this simple interface/class: public abstract class Message { } public class Message1 extends Message{ } public class Message2 extends Message{ } And an utility class: public class Utility { public void handler(Message m){ System.out.println("Interface: Message"); } public void handler(Message1 m){ System.out.println("Class: Message1"); } public void handler(Message2 m){ System.out.println("Class: Message2"); } } Now, the main class: public static void main(String[] args) { Utility p=new Utility(); Message1 m1=new Message1(); p.handler(m1); Message m=(Message) m1; p.handler(m); } The output is Class: Message1 Interface: Message I would that p.handler(m) call the method p.handler(m:Message1) I don't want use the "manual" command instanceof because I have many cases: if(m instance of Message1) p.handler((Message1)m) else if (m instanceof Message2) p.handler((Message2)m) ... If I call m.getClass() I obtain "mypackage.Message1", so the subclass and not the superclass. I try with this code (use reflection): p.handler(m.getClass().cast(m)); But the output is Interface: Message So, this is my problem. I would do a runtime cast of superclass object to subclassobject without use the "code command" istanceof. I would a right command like this: p.handler((m.getclass)m); How can I obtain it?   In my JSF/Facelets application, I want to dynamically generate a breadcrumb trail from a list of page IDs using a custom tag: <foo:breadcrumbs trail="foo,bar,baz"/> This should generate something like: <h:commandLink action="foo" ... /> <h:commandLink action="bar" ... /> <!-- (etc.) --> My code looks something like this: <ui:repeat value="#{fn:split(trail, ',')}" var="key"> <h:commandLink action="#{key}" ... /> </ui:repeat> The problem with this code is that #{key} is interpreted as a method binding. However, I just want the string value of #{key} to be returned as the navigation outcome. How can I achieve this? The only thing I could think of was creating a dummy managed-bean that has an outcome field and an action handler, and invoke it like so: <h:commandLink action="#{dummy.click}" ...> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{dummy.outcome}" value="#{key}" /> </h:commandLink> with the dummy class defined like so: public class Dummy { private String outcome; public String click() { return outcome; } public void setOutcome(String outcome) { this.outcome = outcome; } public void getOutcome() { return outcome; } } That seems ugly though, and I don't know if it would work.

• Get a selected radio button value after POST to set other fields enabled/disabled

  I have an MVC application with a simple control to all selection of All Dates or selecting a Date Range. The radio buttons have an onclick handler to enable/disable the dat pickers. All work well so far. When I try to set the correct context state for the datepickers after doing a POST I cannot get the jQuery selector to return the radio buttons checked value. Can anyone see anything wrong here?

• In Varnish, how can I read the Set-Cookie response header?

  I am trying to detect if my application has set a cookie that holds an "alert message" for the user on the next page, where the Javascript displays it if detected. In my vcl_fetch(), I need to detect if the specific cookie value "alert_message" appears anywhere in the Set-Cookie header (presumably in the VCL variable beresp.http.Set-Cookie). If detected, then I do not want to cache that next page (since Varnish strips the Set-Cookie header by default, which would obliterate the alert message before it makes it back to the browser). So here is my simple test: if(beresp.http.Set-Cookie ~ "alert_message") { set req.http.no_cache = 1; } Strangely, it fails to evaluate to true. So I throw the variable into the Server header to see what it looks like: set beresp.http.Server = " MyApp Varnish implementation - test reading set-cookie: "+beresp.http.Set-Cookie; But for some reason this only displays the FIRST Set-Cookie line in the response headers. • Dual Boot issues with Windows 7 and Ubuntu

  I'm finding myself in a rather unique situation. I've read through just about every resource I can find about this and while things have helped me understand some background, I haven't yet been able to find a solution. So I'm asking here. I originally had just a Windows 7 64-bit OS installation on my desktop. Learning that I couldn't do anything with Apache, PHP and MySql from within a 64-bit system, I did some research and found out that I could use Ubuntu. I've installed the latest version: 11.04. I created a CD to install Ubuntu from and the install went just fine. I installed it side-by-side with Windows 7. I can boot into Ubuntu just fine through the dual-boot option. When I reboot to load Windows though, the Grub2 list shows Windows 7 (loader) and when I select this option the Windows System Recovery loads instead of the actual OS. I haven't made it past there because I didn't know what to do. I just shut the computer down and rebooted into Ubuntu. I've been working for the last hour and a half to try to figure out how to boot into the Windows 7 OS and I haven't got a clue. While I'm somewhat proficient with Windows 7, I'm totally new to Ubuntu, so if you do know what needs to happen, please keep it simple enough that I'll be able to understand. The AuthnRequest message is used by an SP to start a Federation SSO operation and to indicate to the IdP how the operation should be executed: How the user should be challenged at the IdP Whether or not the user should be challenged at the IdP, even if a session already exists at the IdP for this user Which NameID format should be requested in the SAML Assertion Which binding (Artifact or HTTP-POST) should be requested from the IdP to send the Assertion Which profile should be used by OIF/SP to send the AuthnRequest message Enjoy the reading! Protocols The SAML 2.0, SAML 1.1 and OpenID 2.0 protocols define different message elements and rules that allow an administrator to influence the Federation SSO flows in different manners, when the SP triggers an SSO operation: SAML 2.0 allows extensive customization via the AuthnRequest message SAML 1.1 does not allow any customization, since the specifications do not define an authentication request message OpenID 2.0 allows for some customization, mainly via the OpenID 2.0 extensions such as PAPE or UI SAML 2.0 OIF/SP allows the customization of the SAML 2.0 AuthnRequest message for the following elements: ForceAuthn: Boolean indicating whether or not the IdP should force the user for re-authentication, even if the user has still a valid session By default set to false IsPassive Boolean indicating whether or not the IdP is allowed to interact with the user as part of the Federation SSO operation. If false, the Federation SSO operation might result in a failure with the NoPassive error code, because the IdP will not have been able to identify the user By default set to false RequestedAuthnContext Element indicating how the user should be challenged at the IdP If the SP requests a Federation Authentication Method unknown to the IdP or for which the IdP is not configured, then the Federation SSO flow will result in a failure with the NoAuthnContext error code By default missing NameIDPolicy Element indicating which NameID format the IdP should include in the SAML Assertion If the SP requests a NameID format unknown to the IdP or for which the IdP is not configured, then the Federation SSO flow will result in a failure with the InvalidNameIDPolicy error code If missing, the IdP will generally use the default NameID format configured for this SP partner at the IdP By default missing ProtocolBinding Element indicating which SAML binding should be used by the IdP to redirect the user to the SP with the SAML Assertion Set to Artifact or HTTP-POST By default set to HTTP-POST OIF/SP also allows the administrator to configure the server to: Set which binding should be used by OIF/SP to redirect the user to the IdP with the SAML 2.0 AuthnRequest message: Redirect or HTTP-POST By default set to Redirect Set which binding should be used by OIF/SP to redirect the user to the IdP during logout with SAML 2.0 Logout messages: Redirect or HTTP-POST By default set to Redirect SAML 1.1 The SAML 1.1 specifications do not define a message for the SP to send to the IdP when a Federation SSO operation is started. As such, there is no capability to configure OIF/SP on how to affect the start of the Federation SSO flow. OpenID 2.0 OpenID 2.0 defines several extensions that can be used by the SP/RP to affect how the Federation SSO operation will take place: OpenID request: mode: String indicating if the IdP/OP can visually interact with the user checkid_immediate does not allow the IdP/OP to interact with the user checkid_setup allows user interaction By default set to checkid_setup PAPE Extension: max_auth_age : Integer indicating in seconds the maximum amount of time since when the user authenticated at the IdP. If MaxAuthnAge is bigger that the time since when the user last authenticated at the IdP, then the user must be re-challenged. OIF/SP will set this attribute to 0 if the administrator configured ForceAuthn to true, otherwise this attribute won't be set Default missing preferred_auth_policies Contains a Federation Authentication Method Element indicating how the user should be challenged at the IdP By default missing Only specified in the OpenID request if the IdP/OP supports PAPE in XRDS, if OpenID discovery is used. UI Extension Popup mode Boolean indicating the popup mode is enabled for the Federation SSO By default missing Language Preference String containing the preferred language, set based on the browser's language preferences. By default missing Icon: Boolean indicating if the icon feature is enabled. In that case, the IdP/OP would look at the SP/RP XRDS to determine how to retrieve the icon By default missing Only specified in the OpenID request if the IdP/OP supports UI Extenstion in XRDS, if OpenID discovery is used. ForceAuthn and IsPassive WLST Command OIF/SP provides the WLST configureIdPAuthnRequest() command to set: ForceAuthn as a boolean: In a SAML 2.0 AuthnRequest, the ForceAuthn field will be set to true or false In an OpenID 2.0 request, if ForceAuthn in the configuration was set to true, then the max_auth_age field of the PAPE request will be set to 0, otherwise, max_auth_age won't be set IsPassive as a boolean: In a SAML 2.0 AuthnRequest, the IsPassive field will be set to true or false In an OpenID 2.0 request, if IsPassive in the configuration was set to true, then the mode field of the OpenID request will be set to checkid_immediate, otherwise set to checkid_setup Test In this test, OIF/SP is integrated with a remote SAML 2.0 IdP Partner, with the OOTB configuration. • Ignoring Robots - Or Better Yet, Counting Them Separately

  It is quite common to have web sessions that are undesirable from the point of view of analytics. For example, when there are either internal or external robots that check the site's health, index it or just extract information from it. These robotic session do not behave like humans and if their volume is high enough they can sway the statistics and models.One easy way to deal with these sessions is to define a partitioning variable for all the models that is a flag indicating whether the session is "Normal" or "Robot". Then all the reports and the predictions can use the "Normal" partition, while the counts and statistics for Robots are still available.In order for this to work, though, it is necessary to have two conditions:1. It is possible to identify the Robotic sessions.2. No learning happens before the identification of the session as a robot.The first point is obvious, but the second may require some explanation. While the default in RTD is to learn at the end of the session, it is possible to learn in any entry point. This is a setting for each model. There are various reasons to learn in a specific entry point, for example if there is a desire to capture exactly and precisely the data in the session at the time the event happened as opposed to including changes to the end of the session.In any case, if RTD has already learned on the session before the identification of a robot was done there is no way to retract this learning.Identifying the robotic sessions can be done through the use of rules and heuristics. For example we may use some of the following:Maintain a list of known robotic IPs or domainsDetect very long sessions, lasting more than a few hours or visiting more than 500 pagesDetect "robotic" behaviors like a methodic click on all the link of every pageDetect a session with 10 pages clicked at exactly 20 second intervalsDetect extensive non-linear navigationNow, an interesting experiment would be to use the flag above as an output of a model to see if there are more subtle characteristics of robots such that a model can be used to detect robots, even if they fall through the cracks of rules and heuristics.In any case, the basic and simple technique of partitioning the models by the type of session is simple to implement and provides a lot of advantages.

• Call DB Stored Procedure using @NamedStoredProcedureQuery Injection

  Oracle Database Stored Procedure can be called from EJB business layer to perform complex DB specific operations. This approach will avoid overhead from frequent network hits which could impact end-user result. DB Stored Procedure can be invoked from EJB Session Bean business logic using org.eclipse.persistence.queries.StoredProcedureCall API. Using this approach requires more coding to handle the Session and Arguments of the Stored Procedure, thereby increasing effort on maintenance. EJB 3.0 introduces @NamedStoredProcedureQuery Injection to call Database Stored Procedure as NamedQueries. • How to access UbuntOne when it asks for default keyring which has never been set?

  I am trying to set up UbuntuOne on a new computer and after I enter the email and password, it asks for the keyring 'default'. I don't know what it is and I never set it. Makes it difficult to enter so it seems to be a counterproductive security default. I understand that if autologin is set the keyring is called. I tried setting the main user to need a password but if I reboot it doesn't ask for the password so it sort of autoboots still. So How do I set the keyring default password? If I can't set it I can't install UbuntOne

  I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up?   I have a custom user control called GoalProgressControl. Another user control contains GoalProgressControl and sets its GoalName attribute via databinding in XAML. However, the GoalName property is never set. When I check it in debug mode GoalName remains "null" for the control's lifetime. How do I set the GoalName property? Is there something I am doing incorrectly? I am using .NET Framework 4 and Silverlight 4. I am relatively new to XAML and Silverlight so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attempted to change GoalProgressControl.GoalName into a POCO property but this causes a Silverlight error, and my reading leads me to believe that databound properties should be of type DependencyProperty. I've also simplified my code to just focus on the GoalName property (the code is below) with no success.   I've made an MSBuild project that simply does an msbuild task with our solution file as parameter. I've defined a BeforeBuild target where I set some properties, and a Build target that executes the msbuild task. I've confirmed that no errors occured when building the msbuild script in the command line console. However, when I use it in the msbuild task in my CCNET project, I keep getting the following error: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets (483,9): error: The OutputPath property is not set for project 'MyProject.msbuild'. Please check to make sure that you have specified a valid combination of Configuration and Platform for this project. Configuration='Debug' Platform='AnyCPU'. You may be seeing this message because you are trying to build a project without a solution file, and have specified a non-default Configuration or Platform that doesn't exist for this project. I checked the build log and it seems that the error occurs during _CheckForInvalidConfigurationAndPlatform. It wasn't even able to continue to my Build task! But when theMoive is released and re-create a new MPMoviePlayerController, its intialPlaybackTime can not be set correctly, actually the movie always plays from the start. • BitmapFactory.decodeStream returning null when options are set.

  Hi! I'm having issues with BitmapFactory.decodeStream(). When using it without options, it will return an image. But when I use it with options as in .decodeStream(inputStream, null, options) it never returns Bitmaps. What I'm trying to do is to downsample a Bitmap before I actually load it to save memory. I've read some good guides, but none using .decodeStream.   Hello I have a sign up form that is displayed to all new site visitors. If a user fills out the form, the next time they visit the site, I would like to display a "welcome back" message where the form would usually sit. I am trying to do this via the jquery cookie plugin (http://plugins.jquery.com/project/Cookie).   My application is for "iPhone ONLY", But I have made a mistake in the first place by not setting the application for specific device. The current setting now is: Requirement: Compatible for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. I would like to set it to: Requirement: Compatible for iPhone. I have go to some tutorial and forum. and nothing can solve my problem. I have also contact the apple support and this is what I got: "You are permitted to expand your device requirements only. Submitting an update to your binary to restrict your device requirements is not permitted. " is it mean that I can not set my application for iPhone only? If i can change it, what would you recommend me to do? My motto is to pick up the Selected index from the listbox and assign it to the PlayList Index of mediaPlayer. While I add a watch to playList I am able to see , playList , Items , [0] PlaylistIndex 1 playList , Items , [1] PlaylistIndex 2 But While I am trying to set it from the code , the same property PlaylistIndex seems unavailable. • Converting PDF to images using ImageMagick.NET - how to set the DPI

  Hi, I'm trying to convert pdf files to images. ImageMagick is a great tool, and using the command line tool gets me desired result. but i need to do this in my code, So added a reference to http://imagemagick.codeplex.com/ And the following code sample renders each page of the pdf as an image: MagickNet.InitializeMagick(); using (ImageList im = new ImageList()) { im.ReadImages(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + ".pdf"); int count = 0; foreach (Image image in im) { image.Quality = 100; image.CompressType = mageMagickNET.CompressionType.LosslessJPEGCompression; image.Write(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + "-" + count.ToString() + ".jpg"); ++count; } } The problem: IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP the rendered image is hardly readable. the problem i realized is it uses the default 72 DPI of ImageMagick. and i can't find a way to set it(96dpi or 120dpi gives good results) via the .Net wrapper. Am I missing something , or there is really no way to set it via this wrapper? Thanks
