  • Convert PostgreSQL array to PHP array

    I have trouble reading Postgresql arrays in PHP. I have tried explode(), but this breaks arrays containing commas in strings, and str_getcsv() but it's also no good as PostgreSQL doesn't quote the Japanese strings. Not working: explode(',', trim($pgArray, '{}')); str_getcsv( trim($pgArray, '{}') );

  • Email pipe to php script working only sometimes

    I have a php pipe script that takes an attached *.csv from an email and saves and parses it. When the email is sent from where it is supposed to be coming from, it silently errors, however, when I take that same email and resend it from my address it goes through just fine. is there any simple reason it could be doing this?

  • PHP 5.2 Function needed for GENERIC sorting of a recordset array

    Somebody must have come up with a solution for this by now. We are using PHP 5.2. (Don't ask me why.) I wrote a PHP class to display a recordset as an HTML table/datagrid, and I wish to expand it so that we can sort the datagrid by whichever column the user selects. In the below example data, we may need to sort the recordset array by Name, Shirt, Assign, or Age fields. I will take care of the display part, I just need help with sorting the data array. As usual, I query a database to get a result, iterate throught he result, and put the records into an assciateiave array. So, we end up with an array of arrays. (See below.) I need to be able to sort by any column in the dataset. However, I will not know the column names at design time, nor will I know if the colums will be string or numeric values. I have seen a ton of solutions to this, but I have not seen a GOOD and GENERIC solution Can somebody please suggest a way that I can sort the recordset array that is GENERIC, and will work on any recordset? Again, I will not know the fields names or datatypes at design time. The array presented below is ONLY an example. UPDATE: Yes, I would love to have the database do the sorting, but that is just not going to happen. The queries that we are running are very complex. (I am not really querying a table of Star Trek characters.) They include joins, limits, and complex WHERE clauses. Writing a function to pick apart the SQL statement to add an ORDER BY is really not an option. Besides, sometimes we already have the array that is a result of the query, rather than the ability to run a new query.   • Running PHP Zend Test in Eclipse

    Is it possible to run PHP Zend test cases (those that extend Zend_Test_PHPUnit_ControllerTestCase, etc.) through Eclipse PDT? I would like to be able to run them in a similar fashion as you run JUnit tests in Eclipse, by right-clicking the test file and selecting "Run as a JUnit test case." I'd love to see the green or red bar instead of having to go to the command line :). Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to program a Hebrew site with a search option. I am using php 5 with Apache 2.2, on a Debian 5 (Lenny) with appropriate code pages enabled. I am using _POST to pass arguments to a script. If I pass English word to the script everything works, but when I use Hebrew nothing is passed through the POST function. When I use ECHO to show _POST, the variable is empty. What might be the problem?

    I have no clue how to validate this string. I am simply supplying an IV for an encryption, but can find no "is_hex()" or similar function, I can't wrap my head around it! I read on a comment in the php documentation (user contrib. notes) this: if($iv == dechex(hexdec($iv))) { //True } else { //False } But that doesn't seem to work at all.. It only says false.     This is an array of objects showing a user uploading photos: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) ) [44] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:37:15 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photo] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) However instead of showing: mr smith uploaded one photo mr smith uploaded one photo I'd like to display: mr smith uploaded two photos by grouping similar items, grouping by user ID and them having added them within, let's say 15 minutes of each other. So I'd like to get the array in this sort of shape: Array ( [12] => stdClass Object ( [type] => photo [created] => 2010-05-14 23:36:41 [user] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 760 [username] => mrsmith ) [photos] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4181 ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 4180 ) ) ) ) preserving the first item of the group and it's created time, and supplementing it with any other groupable photos and then unsetting any items that were grouped (so the final array doesn't have key 44 anymore as it was grouped in with 12). The array contains other actions than just photos, hence the original keys of 12 and 44. I just can't figure out a way to do this efficiently. I used to use MySQL and PHP to do this but am trying to just use pure PHP for caching reasons. Can anyone shed any insights? I thought about going through each item and seeing if I can group it with the previous one in the array but the previous one might not necessarily be relevant or even a photo. I've got total brain freeze :(
