As every haXe developer knows, you could use haxe.Timer.delayed() to delay function call for some time. But this function doesn't exist for neko at all. Is there a way to achieve the same results?
This site drives me crazy! I'm a web developer. I understand technology, I understand OpenID, but I don't have a clue how to login to this site with the username I created whilst asking another question unless I ask yet another question?
Sure, this is a techie site but if I can't work out how to log in then what hope is OpenID to the rest of the non technical world?
I am a windows developer currently getting into Rails. While you can develop on RoR Windows, it's not the ideal experience. Things are glitchy and running cucumber tests are painfully slow.
So, would I be able to have a decent dev experience running Linux in a VM for doing RoR development, or should I bite the bullet and just do a dual boot - Windows 7 / Linux?
I want to have a seperate project that runs my server communication code in a normal JVM for the purposes of integration testing. This code uses these libraries which are build into the Android Framework...

Does anybody know what version of Apache HTTP Client this is supposed to be? I want to run it without the Android tests which are painfully slow.
My Boss have given me assignment to find how a web based application developed in dot net can be protected. I am not a Google App Engine user. However, I understand you're billed for CPU time and other resources. What are the consequences if you happen to create an infinite loop? Will Google ever terminate it, or will you have to do it yourself manually somehow?
I'm a hobbyist developer worried about a small error that might end up costing hundreds.
I'm getting a dialog box asking to enter my apple developer id & password in xcode. It just says something like "To download this update enter your information." then i goes away.
Is this normal? Seems to me that this would be the perfect way for a trojan to get my apple id and pwd!
Hello,
I'm trying to make a Terminal Unix command with XCode, and I'm having a little trouble...
What I've been doing is creating a "Standard Tool" written in C in XCode, then copying the produced executable to Developer/Tools/.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help in advance.
I'm trying to understand what exactly the above (in my question's Title) means? This is taken directly from the SpreeCommerce.com project:
If you’re an experienced Rails developer you may be wondering where your app directory is. Spree actually runs as an embedded Rails app inside of your gem. How do you customize things then? We’ll cover that later in extensions.
Source: http://spreecommerce.com/documentation/getting_started.html
Can someone further explain what exactly it means when a Rails app is run "inside of your gem"

I know that OpenCV was ported to Mac OS X, however I did not find any info about a port to the iPhone.
I am not a Mac developer, so that I do not know whether a Mac OS X port is enough for the iPhone.
Does anyone know better than me?
Edit: Thanks for the informed answer Adam.
Hi,
I have a Visual Studio (2008) project where I have some files added as links (through Add Existing Item-Add As Link). Suppose I want to copy this project somewhere else (give it to another developer, release source code, etc.) and I would like to "convert" all these links to actual copies of these files. Is this possible? How can I do this in VS or is there some 3rd party utility to do that?
Thanks.
I want to insert an attribute in every xml node. As xml is changed every time some developer do a change so I want to retrieve xml node path dynamically first and then insert the attribute in it. Any idea how can I have a dynamic path of an xml instead of passing a absolute path.

I know its a simple question but dont know what I am missing here.
I have installed Visual Studio Express Web Developer 2010 and boy it really slows my system down a lot. Is there a way to identify the services like SQL Server and set them to manual so I can avoid all my memory resources been occupied when not using Visual Studio? Is it just SQL Express the problem or are there any other things I should consider disabling in order to have a fast and reliable system when not using Visual Studio?
Thanks!
How can I query the database culture (SQL Server 2005) ?
I have problems inserting and getting dates, because the client's servers don't run on the same culture as my developer server.
I can adjust the date, but I need to know the server's culture...
Hi,
Is it possible to generate android styled javadocs for my android project (like http://developer.android.com/reference/java/lang/String.html, instead of http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/String.html)
Is it something regarding using of some custom doclet instead of standard doclet? If yes, then which one I have to use?
I have written a NUnit test in Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. But when I run the test, it doesn't pause at the breakpoint I had set. It just keeps on running but at the breakpoint, I need a step-by-step view on the test.
Could anyone please tell me how I can use breakpoints with NUnit?
Thanks in advance!
I am currently the only developer on a MS Access project, but we may soon be adding developers onto to the project. This will be my first time sharing the load on a single MS Access project and I'm a bit clueless as to what versioning system (ex. SubVersion) might work best. Any suggestions on programs I should be taking a look at or staying away from? Thanks for your help!
I'm looking for a very private source control/hosting solution. Short of hosting my own, and seeing as I'm the only collaborator, what is a good service for this?
I'm using Git. The most important aspect is privacy. I don't want anyone to see my code, I'm simply using it for source control/backup. I will be the only developer.
I have came from another question to this one:
How can one start with Java (JVM) ecosystem? What are beginner, intermediate and advanced knowledge-bases (bags!)? To be honest Java ecosystem was always a bit confusing to me, so it would be very helpful to provide some "reference references" and "defacto tutorials" for learning (curve!) JVM.
I am a C# developer (WPF, Windows Forms, ASP.NET, Web Services, ... like that).
We have common library projects shared amongst many projects that are required to be checked out into a "Libraries" folder which a developer needs to checkout prior to opening the main project in visual studio.
How I tell hudson that there is this dependency?
I figured one thing I could do is setup a custom workspace and specify the location for all projects, but how do I wire up the dependency between them all? Is simply specifying "Build after other projects are built" enough?
I am a developer a large social network.
