    Hi, I was wondering if there's an easy way to install Eucalyptus on a single VT-enabled machine (all Front End, CC, NC..), without installing XEN along with it's specific kernel and dependencies: kernel-xen x86_64 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 update 20 M xen x86_64 3.0.3-105.el5_5.3 update 1.9 M xen-libs x86_64 3.0.3-105.el5_5.3 update 155 k Only KVM. Is it possible ? Do I have to go for sources instead of packages ?

    I'm looking at message queueing for client/server communication in a new product. One of the problems with MSMQ is that it's not installed by default on most Windows desktops, and that it doesn't seem to be available as a redistributable for inclusion in our MSI. Given that the administrator will have access to Microsoft SMS or ConfigMgr or similar, how do I persuade them that it's easy to install? That is: how do I automate installation of the MSMQ components?

    Is there an FTP server that can also provide access via HTTP? Or what do I need to do to set up the mirror of FTP through HTTP access ? Some of my clients cannot access our FTP because of corporate policy and cannot get updates from me. However, they can use HTTP. Currently I use filezilla because it was fast/easy to set up but would switch to something with more flexibility.

  • Getting Outlook notification on more than just Inbox messages

    Outlook can notify the user every time a new email is received in the Inbox folder. (On Mac it also shows the # of unread messages in the Inbox). I have some server rules setup which makes certain emails go straight to a custom folder. I was wondering if there is an easy way to make Outlook do this before new messages in All folders or better yet, some customizable set of folders. I am using Outlook 2011 on Mac.

    I tried printing out a short story from http://www.americanliterature.com and it came out with huge margins. The page is set up as a table with 3 columns. The left and right ones have space for ads or menus, and the middle one has the text. When I print it out it makes all the columns the same width.     On my Windows Vista PC, there is always an instance of "GoogleUpdate.exe" running. I find this annoying, so I'd like to make sure it doesn't start automatically. This proves to be not so easy, as I have tried these solutions: I disabled the "Google updateservice" service I removed the registry section "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Google Update" None of these worked. The registry section is simply re-added. Does anyone know the trick to avoid GoogleUpdate.exe to be started after booting the system?

    PHP, WHM, and several other services are already installed on a CentOS x64 server I am trying to migrate data to. Many of my existing PHP scripts are dependent on PHP's apache_request_headers() function, which the current server's PHP configuration does not support. Apparently, compiling PHP as an Apache module is one solution, but are there other ways to enable this (without uninstalling PHP, reinstalling, etc., and all dependent services), perhaps as easy as modifying php.ini, somehow?

  • Can I copy my Windows recovery partition to a usb and boot from it?

    Of course it's not quite this easy, but are there steps for doing this sort of thing? It's a long story but I was dual-booting linux and had a system meltdown of sorts. As such, my Windows bootloader has been erased and I cannot boot into that OS. I do, however, have a linux live-usb through which I have access to my drives. Is there anyway to make use of this recovery partition and boot from itto re-install Windows?

  • Extremely slow network directory subfolder listing from QNAP NAS in OS X

    Having an issue where I have a folder on a QNAP NAS (TS-439P II+) with over 68,000 subfolders within it. I can browse it quickly and almost instantaneously within Windows 7 via samba, however in OSX 10.6.8, it takes nearly 10+ minutes to display the subfolders, using both samba and AFP. Hoping there is an easy solution - we can't break the folders into smaller subfolders due to a requirement of proprietary software that accesses the sub folders.
