Hello,
How can I get java classes from an xml file?
In this situation, I don't have an XML schemma and this way I cant't use JAXB, Castor or other xml binding API as far as I know.
I have database with oracle number type. Could there any possible issues with using java Double when updating table with numeric column. Should i switch BigDecimal or Double is approriate type.
As I fas as I know, BigDecimal is used when arbitrary precision required, when deal with prices for example.
Consider simple API updatePrice(Double d) Should i persist double as is or BigDecimal.valueOf(d) is preferable ?
Hi
I need to visualize conceptual graph by using java
and I'm wondering if there any library that i can use to make my work easier?
Any advice?
Thank you so much
I am writing a program that reads the input from a file and then prints it to the screen. When I run it without taking the input from the file, it works perfectly fine. However, every time I try to run it from the file it gives me an "Exception in thread "main" java.util.NoSuchElementException: No line found at" error that occurs every place the input is suppose to be read. I have no idea what is going on.
I need to provide a report of which APIs are used by our code. For a Windows DLL, I would use "dumpbin /imports" - is there an equivalent for a Java .class file?
javap seems to be the obvious place to look, but I can't find any options that seem to do what I'm after.
Thanks!
In .NET, both array and list have Enumerable as ancestor, so a method that accept Enumerable as an argument can receive both array and list as its argument.
I wonder if there is a similar thing in Java?
Our company needs to build web solution and we're somewhat short on time. We use Java and do not have a design yet.
We're looking for some tools/plugins for:
GUI-like web design (drag and drop components)
WYSIWYG
The tools must be *free
We like GWT but any other UI framework is fine. Plugins for NetBeans or Eclipse would be great. Any ideas?
Hi,
On my Windows machine, my main hard drive has the letter C: and the name "Local disk".
To list the drive letters in Java on Windows, the File object has the static listRoots() method. But I can't find a way to acquire the drive names (as opposed to the drive letters) on Windows.
Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks,
Mattijs

Can anyone recommend a web site that includes up to date performance tips for Java? Most of the sites I have found seem to be old and I guess the newer versions (1.5 - 1.7) may have obsoleted some recommendations.
Hi,
Sorry, I'm quite new to Java.
I've stumbled across HttpGet and HttpPost which seem to be perfect for my needs, but a little long winded. I have written a rather bad wrapper class, but does anyone know of where to get a better one?
Ideally, I'd be able to do
String response = fetchContent("http://url/", postdata);
where postdata is optional.
Thanks!
Hey,
I have a Java desktop application I wrote, and I would like a recommendation about a monitoring application that can spot bottlenecks in the code and real time memory consumptions.
As I was developing for J2Me, the WTK then, had a memory monitor, and I found it really useful, I would like to know which monitoring program you think is best to use.
Thanks,
Adam.
I'm trying to install the Java Enterprise Edition 6 on my workstation. I downloaded the installer from the Sun website. Whenever I get to the option in the installer "JDK Selection" I'm told to manually select a JDK. I gave it my path (C:\IBM\rad7\jdk\), and was told it is invalid. What do I need to do to successfully install JEE6?

I have a Java applet, which is a form that draw shapes into it (Rect, Oval, Line).
Each shape is represented by 2 points and can draw itself to the form.
When the JApplet form resizes, I need to resize the shapes also while keeping the aspect ratio.
I didn't find an high quality solution for doing this that solves this problem.
Tried to write a solution from this, but it came up as lousy when tested, Can someone publish an example code for doing that please?
I am looking for a easy to use library in java that can convert a video into arrays(corresponding to frames). Arrays will be used for frame processing with standard algos like GMM
public static void main(String[] args)
{
int [][]shatner = new int[1][1];
int []rat = new int[4];
shatner[0] = rat;
System.out.println(shatner[0][3]);
}
surprised, The answer is 0, Java doesn't check this kind of indexOutOfBound error?
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but how do you time the execution of a java program? I'm not sure what class I should use to do this.
I'm kinda looking for something like:
//Some timer starts here
for (int i = 0; i < length; i++) {
// Do something
}
//End timer here
System.out.println("Total execution time: " + totalExecutionTime);
Thanks
I need a nautilus-style file picker in java, where the files are shown "gallery-style" with a customisable thumbnail for each file. Is it possible to make the standard open file dialog do this? If not, does anyone know of an open-sourced widget that I can use?
Clojure is said to be a language that makes multi-thread programming easier.
From the Clojure.org website:
Clojure simplifies multi-threaded
programming in several ways.
Now I'm looking for a non-trivial problem solved in Java and in Clojure so I can compare/contrast their simplicity. Anyone?
Hello all,
Is there a java equivalent to python's bisect library? With python's bisect you can do array bisection with directions. For instance bisect.bisect_left does:
Locate the proper insertion point for item in list to maintain sorted order. The parameters lo and hi may be used to specify a subset of the list which should be considered; by default the entire list is used.
