• Is there any well-known paradigm for iterating enum values?

  I have some C++ code, in which the following enum is declared: enum Some { Some_Alpha = 0, Some_Beta, Some_Gamma, Some_Total }; int array[Some_Total]; The values of Alpha, Beta and Gamma are sequential, and I gladly use the following cycle to iterate through them: for ( int someNo = (int)Some_Alpha; someNo < (int)Some_Total; ++someNo ) {} This cycle is ok, until I decide to change the order of the declarations in the enum, say, making Beta the first value and Alpha - the second one. That invalidates the cycle header, because now I have to iterate from Beta to Total. So, what are the best practices of iterating through enum? I want to iterate through all the values without changing the cycle headers every time. I can think of one solution: enum Some { Some_Start = -1, Some_Alpha, ... Some_Total }; int array[Some_Total]; and iterate from (Start + 1) to Total, but it seems ugly and I have never seen someone doing it in the code. Is there any well-known paradigm for iterating through the enum, or I just have to fix the order of the enum values? (let's pretend, I really have some awesome reasons for changing the order of the enum values)...

• recursive wget with hotlinked requisites

  I often use wget to mirror very large websites. Sites that contain hotlinked content (be it images, video, css, js) pose a problem, as I seem unable to specify that I would like wget to grab page requisites that are on other hosts, without having the crawl also follow hyperlinks to other hosts. For example, let's look at this page https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11471672/wget-all-the-things.html Let's pretend that this is a large site that I would like to completely mirror, including all page requisites – including those that are hotlinked. wget -e robots=off -r -l inf -pk ^^ gets everything but the hotlinked image wget -e robots=off -r -l inf -pk -H ^^ gets everything, including hotlinked image, but goes wildly out of control, proceeding to download the entire web wget -e robots=off -r -l inf -pk -H --ignore-tags=a ^^ gets the first page, including both hotlinked and local image, does not follow the hyperlink to the site outside of scope, but obviously also does not follow the hyperlink to the next page of the site. I know that there are various other tools and methods of accomplishing this (HTTrack and Heritrix allow for the user to make a distinction between hotlinked content on other hosts vs hyperlinks to other hosts) but I'd like to see if this is possible with wget. Ideally this would not be done in post-processing, as I would like the external content, requests, and headers to be included in the WARC file I'm outputting.

• Google Chrome && (cache || memory leaks).

  Hello All, I have a big problem with Google Chrome and its memory. My app is displaying to user several image charts and reloads them every 10s. In the interval i have code like that var image = new Image(); var src = 'myurl/image'+new Date().getTime(); image.onload = function() { document.getElementById('myimage').src = src; image.onload = image.onabort = image.onerror = null; } image.src = src; So i have no memory leaks in Firefox and IE. Here the response headers for images Server Apache-Coyote/1.1 Vary * Cache-Control no-store (// I try no-cache, must-revalidate and so on here) Content-Type image/png Content-Length 11131 Date Mon, 31 May 2010 14:00:28 GMT Vary * taken from here In about:cache page there is no my cached images. If i enable purge-memory-button for chrome (--purge-memory-button parameter) it`s not help. Images is in PNG24. So i think that the problem is not in cache. May be Google Chrome is not releasing memory for old images. Please help. Any suggestions. Thanks.

• How to terminate a request in JSP (not the "return;")

  I am programming a website with JSP. There are pages where user must be logged in to see it. If they are not logged in, they should see a login form. I have seen in a php code that you can make a .jsp page (single file), which checkes, whether the user is logged in or not. If not it will show the login form. If the user is logged in, nothing will be done. So in order to do that I use this structure in my JSPs: Headers, menus, etc. etc... normal stuff which would be shown such as body, footer to a logged in user. This structure is very easy to apply to all webpages. So I don't have to apply checking algorithm to each webpage! I can simply add this "" and the page is secure! So my problem is that if the user is not logged in, then only the log in form should be shown and the footer. So code should bypass the body. Therefore structured my checklogin.jsp so: If user is not logged in show the login form and footer and terminate request. The problem is that I don't know how to terminate the request... If I use "return;" then only the checklogin.jsp stops but server continues to process parent page! Therefore page has 2 footers! (1 from parent page and 1 from checklogin.jsp). How can I avoid this? (There is exit(); in php for this by the way!) Thanks for any suggestions!

• CSS: "AND" and + operator?

  I want to put a space after all the headers using CSS. Like this: if h1 = add a space after else if h1 + h2 = add a space after also but no space in between This is my HTML code <article> <h1>Title 1</h1> ... </article> <article> <h1>Title 1</h1> <h2>Title 2</h2> ... </article> For the CSS h1, h2 { padding-bottom: 20px; } The problem is, there is a space also between h1 and h2. I tried this code below but only those articles with h1 and h2 have a space after. h1 + h2 { padding-bottom: 20px;} Is there a way to do this? Or I should just use the h1 + h2 in CSS and add < br for h1 only?

• Php header('Location") error

  I'm having some difficulty with my php coding. I have 3 files, add.php, lib.php, and view.php I created a simple form, and when the user clicks submit, it should direct them to the view.php where it will display the database. Now I'm having a couple issues I can't seem to resolve. when the user clicks submit and the fields are blank or there is an error no entry should be made into the view page (or database)...however when I click submit a blank entry is made into the database. ALSO if i click "enter product" from the top menu bar anytime I click it, it causes a blank entry into the database. I can't figure out why that's happening. My next issue is with the header('Location') and my browser says: "Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at lib.php:13) in add.php on line 16" However if I click submit on my form it goes away.   Hello, I want to send The pound sign character i.e. '£' encoded as ISO-8859-1 across the wire. • Handling bounced email when using a postfix smarthost

  I'm running a high availability cluster, and so far, most things work great. I have two external machines that act as outgoing mail hosts (smarthosts). The internal hosts are configured to relay all email through these two external facing hosts. My smarthosts' main.cf looks like this: myhostname = lb1.example.com alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases mydestination = lb1.example.com, localhost relayhost = mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 10.1.248.0/24 My internal hosts' main.cf looks like this: mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 myhostname = web1.example.com mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost relayhost = [10.1.248.3] smtp_fallback_relay = [10.1.248.2] lb1's internal IP is 10.1.248.2, and lb2's internal IP is 10.1.248.3. On the external hosts, email for root and www-data is forwarded to [email protected] with /etc/aliases. One advantage to using the smarthost setup is that spam filters and the like can connect back to the sending sending server. The external machine tries to forward the email back to the internal machine, e.g. www-data on web1 sending an email that bounces (such as a user signing up with a bad email address). An additional complication is using Google mail for the main example.com domain. In lieu of specifying every internal host in the external hosts' mydestination, is there a better way of setting things up, keeping in mind I can't adjust touch the mx for example.com?

• 500 internal server error on certain page after a few hours

  I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error on a certain page of my site after a few hours of being up. I restart uWSGI instance with uwsgi --ini /home/metheuser/webapps/ers_portal/ers_portal_uwsgi.ini and it works again for a few hours. The rest of the site seems to be working. When I navigate to my_table, I am directed to the login page. But, I get the 500 error on my table page on login. I followed the instructions here to set up my nginx and uwsgi configs. That is, I have ers_portal_nginx.conf located i my app folder that is symlinked to /etc/nginx/conf.d/. • Nameserver not resolving or domain not pingable [closed]

  Sorry, if anyone can think of a better title please change it! I want to host my own websites from home. For testing purposes, I have a virtual machine running a trial version of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. Note I currently run a VPS and host my own websites but due to a nice speed upgrade on our line I now want to host from home. I have several domains but I wanted to test with one, that is rickyoleary.com. Our ISP does not provide static IP addresses unless we have a business account so I've been looking at no-ip.com. I admit my networking isn't the best, hence this question but I've been bashing my head all day on this one. I created a host name, muffinbubble.no-ip.org which runs on IP: 86.148.124.15. I've setup IIS on the server with a simple test page. I've then forwarded port 80 traffic from the router and from what I can see, it's working. If I access my website (I was unable to link to this for some reason so please copy and paste this) - http://86.148.124.15/ - I see my test page. So the next step was to create my nameservers. This domain is with namecheap.com so I created my nameservers, ns1.rickyoleary.com and ns2.rickyoleary.com. Both these point to the same IP (and yes, that will be changed after testing), the same IP as above: 86.148.124.15. On the server itself I have set up DNS entries as below which I believe to be correct and added rickyoleary.com and www.rickyoleary.com in the host headers (or bindings) in IIS 7.0. If I try and look up my domain, rickyoleary.com it shows ns1.rickyoleary.com and ns2.rickyoleary.com as the nameservers. I then tried to use just-ping.com on my nameserver ns1.rickyoleary.com. I get 100% packets lost, but the correct IP address is returned (I'm guessing the router does not allow pings, but is still accessible...). I get no response when pinging rickyoleary.com. Here's the problems: I cannot ping ns1.rickyoleary.com or ns2.rickyoleary.com from a command prompt. I'm not sure if this is an issue. When I added the nameservers in Windows Server 2008 and clicked 'resolve' a message box displays stating "No such host is known". I cannot ping rickyoleary.com. rickyoleary.com is not showing my test page on my server. Now - please note, I've waited around 6 hours for propagation. From my experience, although you're told to wait 24 - 48 hours, the changes are normally pretty quick so perhaps I'm being impatient or naive to think it should all be working fine until then. I would really appreciate some help here. Thanks.

• Varnish configuration to only cache for non-logged in users

  I have a Ruby on Rails application fronted by varnish+nginx. As most of the sites content is static unless you are a logged in user, I want to cache the site heavily with varnish when a user is logged out but only to cache static assets when they are logged in. When a user is logged in they will have the cookie 'user_credentials' present in their Cookie: header, in addition I need to skip caching on /login and /sessions in order that a user can get their 'user_credentials' cookie in the first place. Rails by default does not set a cache friendly Cache-control header, but my application sets a "public,s-max-age=60" header when a user is not logged in. Nginx is set to return 'far future' expires headers for all static assets. The configuration I have at the moment is totally bypassing the cache for everything when logged in, including static assets — and is returning cache MISS for everything when logged out. • How to run Django 1.3/1.4 on uWSGI on nginx on EC2 (Apache2 works)

Basically he wants to set up Django app (made on Django 1.3, but will be moving to Django 1.4, so it should not really matter which one of these two will work, I hope) on WSGI on nginx, installed on Amazon EC2. The app runs correctly when Django's development server is used (with ./manage.py runserver 0.0.0.0:8080 for example), also Apache works correctly. The only problem is with nginx and it looks there is something else wrong with nginx / WSGI or Django configuration.   I'm having an issue trying to connect Lync 2010 phone calls with our trixbox PBX. I've gotten to the point where Kamailio seems to be functioning properly and acting as a bridge between TCP traffic (from Lync) & UDP traffic (to the trixbox, as Asterisk 1.4 does not support SIP over TCP). • User Input That Involves A ' ' Causes A Substring Out Of Range Error

  Hi Stackoverflow people. You have already helped me quite a bit but near the end of writing this program I have somewhat of a bug. You see in order to read in city names with a space in from a text file I use a '/' that is then replaced by the program for a ' ' (and when the serializer runs the opposite happens for next time the program is run). The problem is when a user inputs a name too add, search for, or delete that contains a space, for instance 'New York' I get a Debug Assertion Error with a substring out of range expression. I have a feeling it's to do with my correctCase function, or setElementsNull that looks at the string until it experiences a null element in the array, however ' ' is not null so I'm not sure how to fix this and I'm going a bit insane. Any help would be much appreciated.
