  • Vim: Replacing a line with another one yanked before

    At least once per day i have the following situation: A: This line should also replace line X ... X: This is line should be replaced I believe that I don't perform that task efficiently. What I do: Go to line A: AG Yank line A: yy Go to line X: XG Paste line A: P Move to old line: j Delete old line: dd This has the additional disadvantage that line X is now in the default register, which is annoying if I find another line that should be replaced with A. Yanking to and pasting from an additional register ("ayy, "aP) makes this simple task even less efficient. My Questions: Did I miss a built-in Vim command to replace a line yanked before? If not, how can I bind my own command that leaves (or restores) the yanked line in the default register?

    I m sry if the title is not clear. Here's my proble. I created a new table which will show total, average and maximum values. I have to insert the results into that table. That table will have only 4 rows. No Appointment, Appointment Early, Appointment Late and Appointment Punctual. So.. I have sth like.. insert into newTable select 'No Appointment' as 'Col1', avg statement, total statement, max statement from orgTable where (general conditions) and (unique condition to check NO APPOINTMENT); I have to do that same thing for another 3 rows.. where only the unique condition is different to check early, punctual or late.. So..the statement is super long. I wanna reduce the size.. How can I achieve that?

    I'm looking for an algorithm to flip a 1 Bit Bitmap line horizontally. Remember these lines are DWORD aligned! I'm currently unencoding an RLE stream to an 8 bit-per-pixel buffer, then re-encoding to a 1 bit line, however, I would like to try and keep it all in the 1 bit space in an effort to increase its speed.   • A column of a table needs to stay in one line (HTML/CSS/Javascript)

    Hi Folks ! So I am having an issue on my entrepreneur business opportunity rating matrix : I would like the radio buttons to stay on the same line. The problem is that I don't know how I should process because if I give a fixed minimum width for the cell, i'm not sure it will display properly on other browsers, and if the cell is to big I loose the alignment of the radio buttons. Do you guys have a CSS/Javascript (jQuery) trick that would fix this ? Thank you

  • one document.createElement, append it twice, only shows once

    I have a button I want to use in the beginning and the end of the page: var button_save = document.createElement('button'); $("#compteurs").append(button_save); [...] $("#compteurs").append(button_save); but it only appear at the end of the page. If I remove it from the bottom of the page, it appear at the begining of page. It's a kind of pointer. Is there a way to create the button only once and use it twice? Thanks!

  • jQuery UI: moving items from one list to another

    While this should be relatively straightforward, I can't figure out how to move (rather than copy) LI elements between ULs. All I want is to drag any item from list foo to list bar (or vice versa) without duplicating the element. While connectToSortable does almost exactly what I want (though I'd prefer to avoid sortable), it clones the element - and manually removing the original element by reacting to the stop event turns out to be not so easy (e.g. ensuring that a valid drop actually happened). A simple "hello world" example would help me greatly.

    I often have to modify files such as sysctl.conf, and I'm familiar with using sed to replace existing values. Is there a way to append the new key/value pair to the file if sed wasn't able to replace it? For instance, using this example: modify config file using bash script sed -c -i "s/\($TARGET_KEY *= *\).*/\1$REPLACEMENT_VALUE/" $CONFIG_FILE How could I add the $TARGET_KEY = $REPLACEMENT_VALUE new line to $CONFIG_FILE using the same sed expression with slight changes? And on a related topic, how can I force creation of $CONFIG_FILE if it didn't exist?

    I follow this rule but some of my colleagues disagree with it and argue that if a class is smaller it can be left in the same file with other class(es). Another argument I hear all the time is "Even Microsoft don't do this, so why should we?" What's the general consensus on this? Are there cases where this should be avoided?

  • CRC32 calculations for png chunk doesn't match the real one

    I'm attempting to mimic the function used for creating CRC's in PNG files, I'm using the autodin II polynomial and the source code from: http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/xnu/xnu-1456.1.26/bsd/libkern/crc32.c My tests have all been for the IHDR chunk, so my parameters have been: crc - 0xffffffff and 0 (both have been suggested) buff - the address of the IHDR Chunk's type. length - the IHDR Chunk's length + 4 (the length of the chunk's data + the length of the type) I printed the calculated CRC in binary, which I compared to the actual CRC of the chunk. I can see no similarities (little-big endian, reversed bits, XOR'd, etc). This is the data for the IHDR chunk (hexadecimal format): length(big endian): d0 00 00 00 (13) type: 49 48 44 52 data: 00 00 01 77 00 00 01 68 08 06 00 00 00 existing CRC: b0 bb 40 ac If anyone can tell me why my calculations are off, or give me a CRC32 function that will work I would greatly appreciate it.     I need to count how many buttons are toggled using the jqueryui checkbox button option - .buttonset(). This needs to happen when a button is toggled. I added a unique class to the labels before applying the button set and have set a click event on it. It fires fine, however it is firing before the jqueryui has processed the click so the result is out of date.     Hi! I have two AJAX GET calls that are set to asynchcronus = true; I want to obtain two XML files on my server. The two AJAX calls and rendering are defined in function foo & koo. While in the second function call(koo). The code inside the if statement can be compiled. If I set both asynchronus to false, then there is no problem at all. If I remove the second function call(koo) from the code, than the code inside the if statement can be compiled. What can I do to have both asynchronus AJAX calls?

  • How to set a static system date for one user or application--"Groundhog Day"

    I have a vendor application on AIX which requires the system date to be set to an arbitrary value for QA testing purposes. The application gets its date from the system, and there is no possibility of changing it to get the date from a parameter. The application runs under a specific userid. I'd like to find a way to set the date for this application or user to a private value without affecting all the other users and applications on the system. So far the only thing I have been able to do is dedicate an LPAR to this application. Every day at midnight a root crontab job resets the date to the static value. This works, but it is wasteful of resources; and now I am faced the requirement to do this for other applications, which, of course, require different dates. Is there any clever solution to this? I need a way to create a sandboxed environment where the date returned from the system can be set to a private value. As I said, the OS is AIX, and that can't be changed for this application either.

It never occurs on ActiveCell.Validation.Delete which I find weird? I have been all over google trying to find a solution, and most suggest that it is caused by running dynamic validation code from a button which hogs focus despite the Activate call, but I am running on sheet change event rather than on button press so I don't think this is my issue - any ideas? I've wasted basically a whole day on this! :(
