  • PHP/MySQL - Special characters in URLs. How to avoid?

    Hey everyone, My database contains information extracted from an external feed. In this raw text feed, the following text is used in place of special characters: & - &amp; ' - &39; é - &eacute; I extract some of this text to form URLs. For example, a URL that I construct from data containing these characters might look like this: http://url.com/search/?brand=Franklin&Hédgson's I use the GET variables in this URL to construct further lookups, which leads to a couple of specific problems: The é and ' characters are sent back to MySQL as they appear, and so they don't trigger any results (because the characters take the full HTML form in the database text). The & within the URL separates the variable, and the GET returns only Franklin, when it should return the whole string. Are there any straightforward ways of dealing with this? Thanks.

  • Breadcrumbs in Fusebox 4/5

    I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a clean way to generate a breadcrumbs trail in Fusebox. Specifically, is there a way of keeping track of "where you are" and having that somehow generate the breadcrumbs for you? So, for example, if you're executing /index.cfm?fuseaction=Widgets.ViewWidget&widget=1 and the circuit structure is something like /foo/bar/widgets/ then somehow the system automatically creates an array like: [ { title: 'Foo', url: '#self#?fuseaction=Foo.Main' }, { title: 'Bar', url: '#self#?fuseaction=Bar.Main' }, { title: 'Widgets', url: '#self#?fuseaction=Widgets.Main' }, { title: 'Awesome Widget', url: '' } ] Which can then be rendered as Foo Bar Widgets Awesome Widget Right now it seems the only way to really do this is to create the structure for each fuseaction in a fuse of some kind (either the display fuse or a fuse dedicated to creating the crumbtrail).

  • HTML form submits and the hostname changes to IP address

    I am facing a peculiar problem. The problem is, my webapp is being installed behind a proxy. The request gets submitted to the proxy which forwards the request to the original host that is running the websphere web application. The problem I am facing is, when I access the webapp, its URL looks like the below http://www.myproxy.com Lets say I get a form on this URL, when I submit the form, it is getting submitted to another URL - http://10.1.2.87 Since the URL is changing, application server thinks it is a different session and throws the login page again. The login page comes thru a filter which checks whether user is already authenticated in the session or not. I do not have much knowledge on proxy settings .. where do you think is the problem?

  • ActiveRecord Create (not !) Throwing Exception on Validation

    So I'm using ActiveRecord model validations to validate a form in a RESTful application. I have a create action that does: @association = Association.new and the receiving end of the form creates a data hash of attributes from the form parameters to save to the database using: @association = user.associations.create(data) I want to simply render the create action if validation fails. The problem is that the .create (not !) method is throwing an exception in cases where the model validation fails. Example: validates_format_of :url, :with => /(^$)|(^(http|https):\/\/[a-z0-9]+([\-\.]{1}[a-z0-9]+)*\.[a-z]{2,5}(([0-9]{1,5})?\/.*)?$)/ix, :message => "Your url doesn't seem valid." in the model produces: ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid Exception: Validation failed: Url Your url doesn't seem valid. I thought .create! is supposed throw an exception whereas .create is not. Am I missing something here? Ruby 1.8.7 patchlevel 173 & rails 2.3.3

But just wondering the best way to print out arrays.. I can't for the life of me get it to print more than 1 element without it retunring an error e.g. Warning: Illegal string offset 'steamid' in /opt/lampp/htdocs/lan/lan-includes/scripts/class.steam.php on line 48 string(1) "R" So I can print one element, and if I add another it returns errors. My requirement is additionally pass the registry path as parameter, so when a launch happens (note no change in the launch) iexplore <<"URL String" should translate into something like iexplore <<"URL String" "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command\" How should my registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command\ modified so as to get the extra registry path appended for all shell launches ?   • Adding user role constraint redirects Browser to jsf.js script?

    My JSF form login was working with Constraint 1 however when I added Constraint 2 to my web.xml doing a submit on the form now takes me to a jsf javascript page. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I would like only administrators to be able to access the /admin/* pages and only registered users to access the entire site included admin files. BTW after I see the java script page I can still navigate to the intended page in the browser, I just don't want the user to see the intermediate js page or need to know the target page URL.   • How does Maven find a Artifact in a remote repository?

    I'm trying to create a maven plugin to generate a file with the URL to all the dependencies in a project. I have been able to get the dependencies and their artifact, but I'm having trouble getting the download URL. Using ArtifactResolver and ArticateMetadataSource I get some of the artifact information. However I fail to get all the information for all the dependencies. I haven't been able to find documentation on the resolution logic, so that I can call it form my plugin. I can use an ArtifactResolver to download the artifact, but what I really wanted was just the URL. The Maven Artifact API has a a method called getDownloadURL (see http://maven.apache.org/ref/2.0.4/maven-artifact/apidocs/org/apache/maven/artifact/Artifact.html). However I cant seem to find a way to get a real value into it. I always get a null value. Is there a way to have it resolved (downloading or not) and get the URL for where the file came from?

    I need to replace several URLs in a text file with some content dependent on the URL itself. Let's say for simplicity it's the first line of the document at the URL. What I'm trying is this: sed "s/^URL=\(.*\)/TITLE=$(curl -s \1 | head -n 1)/" file.txt This doesn't work, since \1 is not set. However, the shell is getting called. Can I somehow push the sed match variables to that subprocess?

    Hi everyone, I have a shell script that creates Firefox profiles and then uses them to open multiple instances of Firefox simultaneously. The problem is how can I open a URL in a particular instance of Firefox? I have tried firefox -CREATEPROFILE test firefox -P 'test' -no-remote firefox -P test -url www.google.ie But the last part which is trying to open the URL using the test profile does not work, it always opens in then default profile. Is there any way to tell Firefox from the command line to open a URL using a particular profile? Thanks.

    I have a Django server which handles requests to a URL which will return some HTML for use in an image gallery. I can navigate to the URL and the browser will display the HTML that is returned, but I can't get that same HTML by doing an AJAX call (using jQuery) to the same URL.
